  1. unless an 11 hits him Gwen misses horribly.
  2. "Tomorrow afternoon." Gwen looked up into Brian's eyes and brushed her lips across his. She brought her hands up to the sides of his head and brushed them across his ears, letting her hands hold his face. "I don't know if there will be any active way to communicate with this Earth when I get there. Heck-- when I agreed to this idea I didn't think I'd have any friends at Claremont to miss. I didn't think on a lot of things..." She rested her arms on Brian's shoulders, fingers interlaced behind his head while resting her forehead on his.
  3. Gwen kissed back, letting her hands hold Brian tighter. "Promise me you'll bring your family to Sanctuary if things get bad enough." Gwen had a sting about her parents for a moment. They were up there on the list of "important scientists" but Gwen couldn't help but worry about just about everything. She nuzzled her face up to Brian's. "I... I've never felt for anyone the way that I feel about you."
  4. "I was an asset before my powers started to change, and now, with what I can do with healing, I'm an even bigger asset to what might be our next home." Gwen took a deep breath again. "If the League succeeds and everything is fine, I'll be back before the month ends but if--" Gwen was struggling to organize her thoughts. She pulled Brian close to her, held him tight and whispered in his ear. "Sanctuary is another planet, well another version of Earth. I've got to go help terraform it back to livable and prepare it for refugees."
  5. Gwen felt her chest tighten. Again the Vines tried to get through to Gwen but she wasn't listening. "I'm going... If the Freedom league can stop the Gorgon I'll be back before you know it but-" Gwen swallowed hard. "If things don't go well." Gwen choked on her words and fought the tears back. "If things don't go well you have to promise to meet me on Sanctuary." Gwen tightened her grip on Brian's hand and her breath came ragged as she fought more tears.
  6. Gwen felt more warmth flow through her body as Brian's lips met hers. "I never intended to feel this way about you, about anyone." Gwen began as she broke the kiss. "I've never been in one place longer than a few months, never been this close with someone before." She weaved her fingers into Brian's and looked into his eyes. "I-I've got something I need to tell you and I... I don't know how." Gwen bit her lip and took in a deep breath. "I'm leaving--"
  7. That thought sobered Gwen for just a moment. "Th-- They're fine." she choked out before the realization hit her that in a few days they might not be, Brian might not be, not Vicky, John, Morgan, the Twins... She pulled back and looked at Brian. "All of this Gorgon stuff-- I've been holding it in but-" Gwen's voice cut out and she sobbed again drawing a deep breath. "I should have told you this was a possibility sooner, I shouldn't have let us get so involved with everything going on."
  8. Seeing Brian made Gwen feel warmer. She had felt so cold since Summers sent word to her that she was going to have to leave for Sanctuary. It was no longer a possibility. The League was preparing it for refugees should things not go well on Earth. Gwen couldn't hold back anymore, she began to cry off the bat before any words escaped her lips. She put her face into his shoulder and sobbed silently. She tried to talk but the words came out garbled, almost totally incoherent. The Vines tried to console her in her mind but Gwen was so upset she couldn't hear them.
  9. September 10th 2011 Early Evening, The student Greenhouse. Gwen paced around the greenhouse. It had flourished under her watchful eye. There were vines with giant red, purple and green grapes hanging down from the catwalk. The orange tree in the center had begun to bear fruits, There were a dozen or so other plants Gwen had rescued and a patch of vegetable garden several of the other students had come in to work on. Gwen finally sat by the large Koi pond on the east wall. Her long black skirts gathered around her bare feet, her brown tanktop loose on her small body. She pulled her auburn hair over her shoulder and fidgeted with it while she waited for Brian to arrive.
  10. Gwen smiled at Brian "I'll have to think on that one." she proceeded to jerk her head in the direction of the new boy. New friend! the Vines chirped, but were fighting against the desire to jump out and meet a new student. Get a hold of yourself, not here! Gwen had to struggle to hold their attention. She turned to the new boy. "Just be glad that your first day at Claremont didn't involve this one leg first into an almost extinct species of tree." Gwen pushed a thumb at Morgan then stuck out her hand to the new boy. "I'm Gwendolyn Barr, please call me Gwen." Gwen made a mental note that she seemed to be joining Morgan on the Claremont Welcome Wagon. She had been present for more than a few new students in recent weeks. "I've only been here for about a month and a half myself."
  11. A footsoldier passes a note to Brian, Morgan and Lucy as they pass the gate. "At noon please report to the arena, you need bring nothing but yourselves. Appropriate clothing will be provided." Signed, King Donovan and Queen Elene.
  12. GM "HEAR YE HEAR YE!" A loud voice commanded after the trumpets ceased. "THE QUEEN, LADY ELLENE AND THE GOOD KING DONOVAN WILL SEE YOU NOW!" Two regally dressed figures made their way to the platform. "Who are all of these-- these peasants!" the Queen demanded of the announcer. "I do believe my dear, these are the peasants come to see the tournament today my dear." the King intervened before the obviously angered Queen could inflict a harm upon the man who brought so many commoners into her vision. "My My, they do look absolutely dreadful! How can I find anyone in this sea of commoners?!" The Queen peered out into the audience, looking to choose someone. "You! Young lady with the pale powder skin, you'll do!" She pointed straight at Lucy and continued to scan the crowd. It was however the King who spoke up. "And you, you two look like a couple of brave young men!" the King pointed to Morgan and Brian then turned back to the Queen. "They will do!" They said in unison, voices cascading. "THE KING AND QUEEN HAVE DECIDED. THESE WILL BE YOUR LADY AND YOUR TWO CHAMPIONS, THEY WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR KINGDOMS HONOR AT HALF PAST NOON!" The gates to the fair were opened by footsoldiers and the crowd allowed to pass.
  13. Gwen blushed a deep shade of red this time. Her cheeks raised in a deep smile that reached her eyes. "Brian!" she let out, shoulders raising as a giggle escaped her lips. "You flatter me good sir." she said with her best accent like those of the performers who were about to go on. She pushed her hair over her shoulder and reached into her purse, she looked around at the gaggle of students who had assembled around from the bus. "If all the Claremont students would be so kind as to line up to claim their tickets from me, you will be free to go about your business-- erm fun as you please. The bus will pick us up here again at 8pm. If you miss it prepare to cab it back to school." Gwen preceded to hand out the tickets to the other students then turned to her small assembled group. "This is going to be a wonderful day!"
  14. Gwen turned when she could see the blue and yellow bus and waved the teens over to her. "Hurry! The entrance show is about to begin!" Gwen had heard that there was a cute "show" put on every 10 minutes at the gate and she had patiently waited for her friends to arrive before going farther. "I've got all of our tickets, we can walk right up!" When she saw Brian her face flushed red and she smiled brighter. She had so been looking forward to a nice day with him. Surely there wouldn't be any sharks or sharktopus men here.
  15. GM As the Claremont bus approached the entrance to the fair it weaved through jam packed parking lots. "Glad we don't have to walk to the door." someone muttered from the back. They couldn't be more right. Throngs of people some in garb, others in plainclothes and yet some dressed as wizards, faeries and other mythical beings swarmed to the mountainous line that was the front gate. Said gate was beautifully decorated in bright paints, hanging tapestries and had "guards" posted checking tickets for admittance. The bus rolled to a halt at the drop-off point just as the "show" was starting again. Trumpets were sounding and the actors on the pavilion were beginning to take places as the teens assembled to join Gwen.
  16. oh dear! what an interesting start to the forum! please don't be put off by my GMing. I'm brand new to this side of things.
  17. Gwen travels back to Maracay, Venezuela to visit her mothers family and some of her friends who live on the border of Henri Pittier National Park, she learns that several small children have been taken by the bountyhunters to be sold to more prominent families who want more influential children, two of the children taken are her own cousins. She embarks on a journey to rescue them, sparking her own recall of buried memories of when she herself was kidnapped and rescued. I'll have to think more on the fire one... Gwen awakes to find herself trapped in a "groundhog day" like dream, erm- nightmare, in which she keeps reliving the day of the fire over and over again. She's 16, but everything else is as it was when she was 7. Each time she passes out from the smoke she awakens on that day again, forced to relive the day until she can overcome her fear of the fire and reach the door of the house. Maybe there is someone who is forcing her to stay in the dream.
  18. Ah, missed that. I know Az wanted to bring Vicky, Quinn asked about Morgan. Tiffanny is bringing someone, Zach and Jeena should be here. There will be need for a few hands, you are, afterall going up against a dragon!

  20. It doesn't have to be soon, but I'd like to explore this with you in reference to Gwen's nightmares and fear/ad version of fire. Maybe have her fighting a baddie who gets her trapped in a burning building and she has to overcome her fear in order to get out?
  21. Gwen was thoroughly excited. She had never been to a European medieval re-creation before. She had decided to wear a long billowy peasant skirt and a sheer white peasant top. She let her long auburn hair flow around her and her shoes were simple brown leather thongs on her feet. She reached into a black purse that was attached to her belt and checked the time on her cellphone, she hoped that everyone wouldn't be late. Several of the Claremont students would be taking a bus over to the fair and they were supposed to meet out at the gate soon. Fun today? the vines inquired of her. I hope so, this will be new for me too. The Vines were all hiding in their baseflower on Gwen's shoulder, and the usual vibrant green of their ink was the red/brown of henna. Gwen had scampered ahead of everyone else to get a good place in the line to enter. She had been told that the wait at the gate for entry could be almost an hour long and people had been right.
  22. OOC for this thread. There shall be ale, wenches and DRAGONS! Maybe a few fireball wielding wizards if I see fit. Come, enjoy the renaissance fair, buy some garb, see some knights joust for a fair maidens virtue. Important things to note about this thread: This is the map of the fair. The entrance we'll be using is that dragon in the bottom left. This is a general idea of what your dragon will look like. I imagine it with more obsidian jewel like scales, embers on the chest and a giant amethyst on the chest. Also, there are two of them. This is the general dragon build, I've made a few tweeks, one dragon shoots fire, one shoots ice. I'm borrowing this build too dressedlike this sans the trident.
  23. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4109&start=120#p98966 and it looks like this: Also, we're subbing the fire breath, with ice. It's happening here. You can all set up your backgrounds, why you're there and what not. My precious will enter in a little while.
