  1. With there mighty defence of 0, yes! and +2 to DC from the Autofire. 1d20+0=1, 1d20+0=8 Both fully snared! Machine gun Catalyst shoots again! The Snare, as far as I can see has toughness 5 for reference.
  2. If I can take 10, I will, for a result of 30. If not: 1d20+20=25
  3. Supercape sat down by one of the Lab's computers and logged on. It wasn't really his thing, but he had a working knowledge of computers - he had to, in his position. And the internet was easy enough to master with his brain. "I'll see what I can find. Take a look if any of the hospitals have any information on this chap. And I know a few research institutions, if he is a pHD rather than medical doctor..." he said, almost to himself, as he started searching online. "2 Hours sounds fine!" he acknowledged to Starlight "and a good meeting point. See you there, hopefully with some information!"
  4. This looks a lot neater mechanically to me - although I would suggest raising those saves when PP start floating your way. I'll let other ref's take a look and give opinion on backstory before commenting further.
  5. GM The mighty strike, which would have split a tree trunk, once again crushed a dent into the mighty armour of Gauntlet - War forged Iron strengthened by the Rune inside. He swung around to Marcus. "Constant Irritation, you...unworthy of the Rune. This creature is wild and powerful! it groaned. The young girl struggled in Gauntlets grip, her skin and musculature changing as she tried to free herself. But the Iron Power of Gauntlet was too much for her. The Rune was strong in her, Marcus could tell, wild and powerful. But she was still only a teenage girl. "And ready for the cult!" continued Gauntlet. "Desist your insignificant resistance, bear...or I will rend her in two!" Gauntlet rasped, stretching out the girls arms to almost snapping point. The girl spat and writhed, and let out a growl of pain.
  6. An attack roll of 15 will hit, no need to spend that HP! Gauntlet tough vs DC 25 1d20+11=22 Fourth Injury! Stopping combat again briefly for dialogue... Gauntlet threatening the girl!
  7. GM THe boss leader, is mouth aghast at his crushed gun, took heed of wise advice, turned heel, and fled at top speed. "Shoot her down!" he screamed at his minions, as he fled the building. The Hiatian, no longer staring at the barrel of any gun, gave Revenant a toothy grin, and followed suit. "I'll be seeing you, in one life or da next!" he waved as he fled "And for three times I walks!" he added, just to reinforce the pact. The five henchmen, to dumb (so far) to run, shot wildly at Revenant, who wasn't staying still this time. And for all the thug's big talk about martial prowess, they where just bullied with firearms. The bullets whizzed in all directions, but none the correct one. A more serious threat approached however, two men in black armour and fire proof clothing, looking like they were riot police, although clearly on the other side of the law. And police didn't use burning flamethrowers. They approached from opposite ends of the room, and, turning slightly, spewed forth two jets of flame at Revenant.
  8. Thugs are up: 5 Thugs Firing at Revenant, Thug Boss running. 1d20+2=20, 1d20+2=13, 1d20+2=15, 1d20+2=16, 1d20+2=5 All miss! Two flame thrower Thugs entering room, and incinerating! Two of these: Reflex Roll DC 16. If you make it, a DC 21 Toughness Save, if not, a DC 27 Toughness save. (I am including in your vulnerability to fire!)
  9. He cant beat that, stealth away!
  10. Zobos Stat's Zobos Initiative 1d20-1=14 Synth Initiative 1d20+10=11 Catalyst is up! The two currently visible Zobo's are about 50 feet from the Van (and in the way on the small road).
  11. I think that means KoS is up! Incidentally, I will presume his Fatigue has gone. I am going to fudge the rules a bit here, but make a Recovery check (DC 10) to get rid of that injury too. 17 - KoS - 3 Hero Points - ?Injured 16 - Jumped up Dabbler - Unharmed
  12. "Everything helps" replied Supercape graciously. "Seeing as we have very little information on what lies on Sedna, even the tiniest morsel of information might, quite literally, be life saving..." He paused a moment, contemplating his own words. They were indeed walking into a possible death trap. He may never see Earth again... He dispelled those morbid thoughts. His best chance of staying alive was staying focussed. He could sweat the philosophical and personal ramifications for later. "In the mean time, lets get down there!"
  13. "I am sure Monsieur Verdoux is more than happy to see you here, with or without me" replied Rene, nodding to the Owner. "I think he is trying to set you up with the young handsome Chef there..Phillipe..." he winked. Sure enough, the fresh faced Phillipe, who was indeed rather handsome with a thick mop of black hair, ruddy cheeks (from the heat of the kitchen) and generous eyes, popped up next to Monsieur Verdoux to take a peek at his beloved pale beauty. "In any case, you know I am always happy to help..." smiled Rene.
  14. Supercapes Gather Info Roll 1d20+1=13 enough for a general inquiry I suppose.
  15. GM The centre of the town was, indeed, a scene straight out of Satan's mouth. The square was shot to pieces, at least two statues crumbling away, riddled with large calibre bullet holes. The surrounding buildings (mainly wood) had not faired particularly well either. Even the ground was torn up - about the only point of serenity in the entire square and small central park was a small pond. Probably half a dozen men and women were strewn around the outskirts of the square, wounded. One man, bruised and bloodied, was tied up and bound to a half-shattered statue, and subject to taunts by two of the men. There were ten of them, four mounted, and two on a horse drawn wagon - which housed what could only be described as the most enormous, steam powered Gatling Gun ever conceived of, let alone seen. The men were dressed as bandits and cowboys straight out of a TV show. They all held Rifles, that hissed steam in their hand and looked rather powerful too. The leader of the men, a tall thin man with an equally thin moustache and an incongruous tall top hat, paused to study the arrivals. He had small dark eyes that bespoke of more intellect than his thugs. A livid scar trailed unevenly across his forehead. "What have we here boys? some more meat for the grinder?" he laughed, before shooting off a stream of automatic fire from his rifle. "Old man Finnigan, will be pleased!" he drawled, with an evil grin. "What do you say to that, Mr. Mayor?" he laughed, referring to the bound and battered man in the centre of the square.
  16. GM "Dock hand?" replied Jackson, momentarily taken aback "Dock's always looking for some big fellow to do some heavy lifting, he should fit right in. Of course, they don't ask much in the way of grey matter..." he continued, tapping his temple. "So you should really fit right in!" he snorted a half-laugh at Subito. "As for sight's there is all the star's, baby!" he continued, getting back into familiar territory "All the stars, and lovely lovely gossip!" he groaned in ecstasy "take Steve Diamond, now there is a guy who knows how to feed the papers with scandal!" "And my beautiful camera!" he added, giving it a fond caress, before whipping it up to take another snap of Kristen. "And with the disaster from down under here , you never know, I might get lucky with a scoop! wouldn't that be something!"
  17. "You are far too powerful for my feeble human hands!" said Lord Steam to Brutus, in all seriousness. "You nearly snapped my cane in two..." he added "...it's worthless!" He slumped and took a half step back, watching Brutus carefully. Then, hoping the Atlantean Assailant had his attention distracted, leapt in, holding his cane firmly like a spear, and shoving it straight below the sternum of Brutus, with all the force a few steps, his weight, and his strong arms could muster. I hope they have the same pressure points... he mentally noted to himself.
  18. Ok, as Old Brutus seems to be all but invulnerable to Steam's cane, lets try a Bluff / Flatfoot Move first: 1d20+10=27 actually pretty good! Then a maximum shifted power attack: -5 attack, +5 damage and hope he is flat footed! 1d20+10=30 Yoikes! A critical - my first ever! So thats a DC 30 Toughness roll!
  19. If you are serious about that bluff, lets have a bluff roll, Scuffles! ;)
  20. This is well written, but I will note my concerns here: Firstly, the backstory feels dark. It is an AI taking over a teenage girls body who is, effectively, dead. And she still seems to live with parents. In many ways this is great for drama, but the tone for this site I have second thoughts about. I will let other ref's take a view on that. Do you have any comments on that, or thoughts on how to de-grim it? I will omit the Freudian interpretation of this backstory...! Mechanically, I also have concerns, which basically boil down to a lot of powers using flaws that it is hard to say fully justify flaw status. I am not sure any, individually, are technically illegal, but overall it looks like a lot of leeway with point shaving. Particular things I noticed where: Communication being distracting and duration. Communication (at least long distance radio communication) is rarely needed in combat, and for a flaw it must aprox. make the power unviable half the time. I can't see either Duration or Distracting really impacting on this power. The same goes for Comprehend. This is mainly a utility power, I am not sure how reducing its duration really counts. I know these flaws are allowed in UP, and I am not saying no, It's just part of the bigger picture. Emotion Control No saving throw is not allowed. Within the Nanite Array, the "Fades" power and slow fade feat might need scrutiny. I would have thought the fade and slow fade effects should be applied to the array as a whole, rather than each individual power. Drawback: No access to Silicon for 12/24 hours. I am not sure this is worth 2PP. Firstly, threads rarely last this long, as secondly, silicon is not exactly a rare element in today's society. I would have said 1 PP. So, apart from the Emotion control I can't see anything technically wrong, but I do raise my eyebrows at some of the above, which seems more about (effective) cost cutting than making sense. Its pushing it. One final point, I think it would be quite hard to have medical training without at least a few ranks in Knowledge (Life Sciences), unless you are going for a strictly first aid / paramedic type model.
  21. GM Whatever the degree of Kyle's mechanical ineptitude, the car actually worked. Sort of. By the standards of Earth Prime, it was a messy, loud, and uncomfortable affair. By the looks of the occassional horseless chariot that passed Texan roads, it was a messy, loud, and uncomoftable affair by the standards of Earth Victoriana. Smoke belched, engines rattled, and every bump in the road threatened to snap spines. But it moved. Not fast, but it hurtled along at 50 miles an hour without any evident danger of exploding. Pushing it further might have been a step to far, even if the speedometer did reach 100mph. The trip into the centre of Texas was filled with sights. Gaslights, horses, a round of celebratory gunfire in the air, and a cowboy being slung out of a bar in classic style. As they approached the centre, some screaming and yelling started. "Turn back, turn back!" yelled one running man, in a Texan drawl and fabulous moustache. "Some of Old Finnigan's boys are ripping up Independence park! they shootin' at everything, with hell know what, come straight out of the mouth of Satan!" Even as he yelled, the heroes could hear some gunfire and explosions ahead. More people started running down the road, some injured, and a few jumping on to the heroes battered car, demanding that a u turn was performed!
  22. Could you throw me an attack roll? Gauntlet is flat footed...so has a defence of only +2. I will also give you +2 to your attack as he is somewhat distracted and flanked, which is a one off situational bonus.
  23. Ok I will take that as a Sunder action... (depending on exactly what you meant it could be a disarm or a grapple but Ill say Sunder as your primary goal is to crush the weapon). Its a hit, no question. The gun is made of Steel, but I will say its -2 toughness for being relatively small and fragile (compared to 1 inch thick!), so toughness 8. I will give you a bonus of +2 for your super strength and just being cool and fitting the descriptor to that damage, so its DC 25 for the gun. 1d20+8=9 Well with that roll its just mangled metal. In your hand, if you wish it.
  24. Ok Initiative Time. Frederick: 1d20+0=6
