  1. GM Revenant didn't need to stop for sleep, or food. She could take her time asking around. And time it took, a convoluted thread of many people, some ignorant, some just passing her on to the next stop on the trail. And some trails were dead ends. The Next Day... "Yeah, sure, I know of her..." said the elderly librarian "we even have a few of her books. Local author. Cant say she was a big success. Her books are just too weird. Guess you would call them horror, if it all the pages weren't so jumbled up. Apparently its her technique, but makes the books bad, if you ask me. A few people like em, those mixed up goth kids..." He lead Lucy to the relevant section. He was a vibrant, friendly man, with a full head of white hair, tweed jacket and bow tie. Despite his affable nature he didn't hold back on criticising bad literature. "Here you go, Veronica Stone. Least, that's the name she writes by" he said, pulling out They came for blood and leafing through it half heartedly. "She lives out of town, but its not far. Winterlake I think the place is..." He gave Revenant instructions and the address for Winterlake. It was, indeed, next to a small lake, and at this time of year, it was indeed suitably cold.
  2. That will do nicely. Posted IC the relevant.
  3. Well they are tough, but that might just chip away at them. Limited immunity to that damage means DC 18 toughness. But not with 1d20+10=29. Of course, that means not there to be physically defeated...
  4. No, the old Dons corpse is still ready to be cremated. As he is frozen, he is more in the "thawing" stage from the heat however. We are about 20 feet from ground? a SC 17 toughness save.
  5. Looks good. I make grapple bonus +15 base )+4 Melee, +10 Strength, +1 Superstrength), with +25 if everything is put into the Superstrength DAP Other than that, ready for approval.
  6. "Black is always in" replied Supercape without much enthusiasm for the hue. "But somehow I think a more flamboyant colour for your golden self. A nice rich Red perhaps? And as for the cut, something firm and robust around the neck... I recall you being able to detatch your... Cranial unit...so I guess you need to decide which part wears the cape.?" "And then there is the question of pattern. Maybe an insigna...like a giant "P" on it. You know, we should probably have some symbol for the Lab to use for that kind of thing..."
  7. Personally, I think that is fine just to play out as it is! Totally thematic and cool, no extra effort needed.
  8. GM "I guess you already have" said Ms. Wheatley, with a mixture of charm, wit, eloquence and a trace of sarcasm. Her mouth was all smiles however. "A woman's mystique, especially a woman of my profession, does require a little bit of...obscuring...when it comes to the past" she started, settling herself down and smoothing the creases on her dress. "I presume M sent you, the little cuddly man. What an adorable creature. Well, you know I work for him, have for several years. On and off, and I am never quite sure how official my connections are. Still, its exciting, dramatic, and you get to meet all sorts of interesting people. Like yourself" she added politely. "And of course I get all sorts of interesting men at my door" she said, wistfully "and even a far few marriage proposals. I am sure the dear Innocente would marry me, despite his theological obligations!"
  9. Why not? Synth asked herself. She had wanted to explore a little of Freedom City nightlife, but had no money to do so. She took the two tickets and inspected them. "Thank you very much, I shall try and come" she said by way of courtesy. "I haven't see William the Wonder, no, but it sounds very interesting". There was something about the man that seemed...well, a bit deceptive, but not malign. Something that set her teeth on edge slightly. But for all that he was friendly enough, and she could certainly handle herself - nothing to be frightened of. "I guess I'll see you there, Mister....?" she finished, trying to get his name.
  10. Synth, sense motive? ha... 1d20+1=10 Just made first level.
  11. Surely we can disable one robot...thought Synth as the mechanical threat suffered from an increasingly vigorous assault from multiple angles. It looked like she was not alone in the fight, which was good. Some of Freedom Cities other 'superhero's' were with her. She guessed she was one too, that was why she had come. She needed a better costume than a ripped "Diablo Donuts" t shirt and hat, however. Once again she flung her arms at the robot, whist moving closer to it. Incredible! It's strength! she whistled to herself as the thing threw off her hold. It was stronger than her, even with all her cellular vitality and multiple limbs. Well, she would just have to try harder, she noted to herself. "It's strong!" she yelled "very strong! I...don't know if I can hold it..." she conceded.
  12. I think Synth is up next? Move action: Towards robot Standard Action: Another grapple - 1d20+10=15 that might hit if Glow's feint / set up has flat footed the robot, I guess? Grapple roll in case I hit: 1d20+26=28 not good all round!
  13. Depends what information you are looking for and how you are getting it! It sounds like you are doing a gather information? (Dont know who Rhona is?) what infor are you looking for? (that will set the DC). Also, you are free to take 10 on roll (or take 20 if you spend the whole day phoning people).
  14. Nope you are all alone in a burning building! On that subject, the flames are now getting hot enough to hurt!
  15. GM The two ship hands looked at each other in surprise. Then shrugged. "Hey crazy kid, you seem to like taking a dip today!" laughed on of them "but if there is something stuck down there, rather you than me!" he continued, cutting the outboard motor off. The Freeway was only a few yards from the dock, drifting very slightly but in no danger of collision. "Let me know when it's gone, so I dont shred you with the motor when I fire it up!" he said, taking a seat and lighting a cigarette casually. The other deck hand went to the front of the yacht, checking on some of the rigging. "" replied Cruz, looking at Subito whilst he clung to the side of the ship ""
  16. Synth lifted the CEO into a chair, taking care whilst she did so. Starlight's healing power had worked a wonder, but it was as best to be sure. "So, looks like I'm your best protection right now, Mrs. Hawthorne" she said. Synth did not like big businesses, viewing them as a machine that split the poor and the rich. But some industry was valuable, and surely not all coorperate structures were malign. In any case, nobody deserved death, no matter how greedy and corrupt and organisation was. "Here is one way to protect you" she added, studying the CEO's features. As she did, her facial features morphed, along with her height and build, as her cells rapidly divided and expired. "A second target" she concluded. She stood by the CEO with the same face and body as her. True, on close inspection she retained that slightly waxy unreal flesh... "But I will need some better clothes..." she noted. A CEO wouldn't walk around in a protestors scruffy and ripped clothes.
  17. Disguise roll for Synth: 1d20+11=21
  18. "I presume so" replied Supercape, aloud "...we are in a building, I presume the very target construct. And I presume that is safely on the ground, or in it, rather than free falling through the atmosphere..." Best not to take anything for granted here..he reminded himself. This whole adventure need careful scientific analysis. "If you can hear us, speak up. I am not sure how best to communicate. But we are all safe and sound..." his eyes glanced over his comrades as he spoke "...and it looks like we have but one route from here!" he concluded, noting the bootprints trailing off towards the humming sound.
  19. Synth took a long look at the 'paramedic', the shot woman, and Starlight. "True" she acknowledged. But there might be other ways... She addressed Starlight directly in a lower tone "they could be anywhere, we need to stop this at the source...find out what's really on...if it wants to go, let it..." In a whisper, she leant to Starlights ear. "...and follow it?"
  20. Sorry to be a pooper, let me know what you come up with!
  21. (GM) Looking around at the blazing building, the gunmen started to loose their nerve. "Leave her hear to burn!" shouted one, turning to flee down the fire exit. A few others fired a few rounds at Revenant - the smoke was beginning to obscure vision as well as choke the lungs. "Forget this!" shouted another "I'm not going down in a fire. Lets split!" he said, and the collective bravery of the men broke and shattered. All of them turned heel and fled out of the building, just as the blazing ceiling started to collapse.
  22. OK, just the daze then, and burning building time! Three parting shots from the Goons: 1d20+2=20, 1d20+2=21, 1d20+2=16 thats one more hit, so a DC 18 Toughness save with 1 injury left.
  23. GM To the sound of Jackson's ever-clicking camera, Steve Diamonds Yacht, the Freeway, started up its engines and then pulled away from the dock. DIamond himself was below deck, and only the two deck hands remained up top, busying themselves. "Enough!" spluttered Cruz, ignoring both Subito and Kristen for one moment, ignoring everything else, he seemed fixed on finally resolving the matter. With a quick glance at Kristen and Subito, he gave them a fierce glare "If you want to be a hero, then be one..." she said, giving them an eye each. With that, he started a run, and at full sprint leapt straight of the docks, launching himself with a mighty jump, hands reaching out for the anchor on the side of the Freeway, as it drifted away...
