1. Sparksmith +6 Points! Feats Remove Accurate Attack Add All Out Attack Add Move-By Action Powers: I added Precise to the Array, instead of it being on all of the separate alts, since I want it on the Create Object, too. To fill in the points that were freed up for the alts, I took Improved Crit for the blast and Takedown Attack for the Strike. I also changed the strike around so that Autofire worked as intended, and simplified it. I can put the other stuff in a future alt or in a stunt. I also added the Innate Comprehend, since Kurt's trained all over the world, it would make sense for him to speak and understand human languages, but it wasn't meant to be his power, hence the Innate. Since buying them with feats would be way too costly, I thought this would be a better idea. Besides, he doesn't necessarily NEED to know how to read it, right? tldr: Add Precise to Array. Exchange Precise for Improved Critical on Blast Power. Change Strike Power as written in code, add Comprehend 2. Powers: 4+4+12+37 = 57PP Comprehend 2 (Speak and Understand One Language at a Time; Feats: Innate, Drawbacks:Power Loss (NonHuman/Earth)) [4pp] (Can speak and understand any human language.) I REALLY hate to bring this up, but there's an error in Sparksmith's toughness that should be addressed. The Force Field only adds +6 to his toughness. what is listed is over caps. tldr: fix my toughness Toughness: +8/+2 (Impervious 6/0) (+2 Con, +6 Force Field) Done by AA
2. "Ryu Wins!" Appears on the screen in big red and orange letters as Aiko appears behind him. He turns around and is startled by her speed. "Ah!...Heh, I forgot how quick you are. Kurt drops a few quarters into the machine, adding a few more credits. The screen goes to the Character Select Menu. Circles fill the bottom half of the screen. Within each one is a portrait of a different character. Two circles are highlighted. One blue, and one red. Kurt, standing on the left, is player one, blue. Aiko, standing on the right, is the red cursor and player two. So, have you ever played before? Do you know the characters at all? Or do you need me to explain? Kurt moved the joystick quickly, causing the blue highlight to move down down to Rose, the Italian Fortune Teller. After selecting her, he waited for Aiko to choose.
3. "You want to smash in? Aren't you a ninja? Wouldn't you want to sneak in, deactivate the bots, then knock him out? I mean, I learned some ninjitsu, but not enough to execute a stealth plan efficiently. I might not be able to be very stealthy, but... Sparksmith trailed off as he looked around at the other heroes. He was in the presence of the embodiment of light, a muscle man, and one ninja. "Heh, you know what? Forget I said that. Smashing is fine. We just have to get the civilians out of their first. The museum is usually crowded at this hour."
4. All throughout Freedom Angel's performance, Sparksmith followed silently with his hands tapping his thighs. It was a song that he loved to play, but it was the angel's spotlight. At the end, a tear fell from his face. A glorious performance. He stood, saluted, applauded, then sat back down. "I am all for More than a Feeling. Probably my favorite Boston song." Sparky smirks and spins in his energy chair, his drum kit reverting to how it was for the song prior to Anything Goes. "Besides, 'More Than a Feeling' is a nice cool down song for me. Keeping up with the tap routine wasn't easy."
5. "Guardian, where are we going? Where is he?" Sparksmith follows close, surfing on an circular energy platform. His force field reverts back to normal as he turns around, now flying backwards while following Guardian. "And can someone also tell me who the 'he' is?" The bot wasn't hard, but do we need a plan for the loudmouth who built it?..." Sparky looked at everyone's faces, expecting an answer, but realized he had no idea who any of these people were. He shook his head and turned a bit pink, feeling foolish for demanding things from people he didn't know. "...Oh, crap, sorry. I didn't even introduce myself. The name's Kurt. You can call me Sparksmith."
6. Sparksmith was in heaven. When the last arcade closed back home, he was devastated, but looking around the Ocean Hights Arcade, he was amazed. So many old arcade games... so many new arcade games. He nearly fainted. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2... Mario Kart Arcade 2... Time Crisis... Soul Calibur... Star Wars Arcade... Street Fighter...Best. Place. Ever. Kurt spent time on almost every game, playing a little of this, and a little of that. He racked up a few high scores, but nothing to send to the record books, but enough to get a crowd gathering. He stopped at Super Street Fighter 4 for quite some time, taking on any challengers, but when a kid mentioned something about a woman with blue hair tearing through high scores, too, Sparky knew he had found an adversary in an ally. Kurt sent out a spark to make a small stage, elevating himself for all to see. He spoke loudly, but in Japanese, as to isolate who hears. "" His platform lowers a bit into a seat. He waits for his challenger, eagerly beating the crap out of the game's AI.
7. Initiative:1d20+7=21 Sparky is ALL about the arcade. Edit: Sparksmith will be getting Comprehend 2: Speak, Understand; Drawbacks: Power loss (NonHuman/NonEarth); PF: Innate with the upcoming PP Awards. Nyrath, in chat, has allowed Sparksmith to speak in Japanese.
8. Kurt surfed around the theater on an energy platform, inspecting how it looks, then landing right outside. He took out his cell phone and checked the time. Hey! Early means right on time in theatre, doesn't it? Man, I haven't worked a show since college. I wonder what kind of set-up this place has... and I wonder how many supers are in attendance. Sparky looked around the lobby and checked his ticket, walking towards the bar and asked for a simple glass of water. The ticket was expensive enough. He was low on cash. He made himself a seat out of a small spark and sat down. "I wonder how talented Freedom City's actors are... this should be fun." He thought aloud, before sipping his glass of water.
9. Sparksmith "Concert Auditions. Second floor, 2B" All Part of the Show Sound and Fury! Red Hot Science Sparking a New Beginning Jazz in the Park
10. Sparksmith knew what was coming from her new outfit. His kit changed slightly to fit with the mood, changing shapes a bit. Some shrunk, others widened. He started lightly with her intro, synchronizing perfectly with the woman's words and the beat, giving a bit of a cymbal after each of the "...clock," "...shock," "...Rock," "...stem," and "...them" respectively. As she continued, he seemed to restart, starting low with "In olden days..." and blooming through the section to "...Anything Goes." As her voice picked up, his hands followed, the tempo gradually progressing. The bass drum resonates throughout the room, pumping the beat of the song. Kurt watched and listened closely, staying in sync throughout the performance. Their tapping adding to the percussion made the song sound all the more impressive. His hands couldn't exactly keep up with the tapping--they were incredible-- but he compensated with some fill of his own, fitting in with their tapping beat very well. At the end of the song, he wiped the sweat from his brow and clapped. "That was tough, but so worth it. I haven't seen tapping like that, or heard that song sung so well since I saw a recording of the Broadway performance."
11. I'll wait for at least one of the two to post before I will, since the post before Heritage's is mine.
12. Sparksmith, instead of taking a menu, held up his hand and smiled. "No thank you, I won't need one. I'll take the Chef's Special Beef Boourguignon, and for a drink, I'd like a tall glass of sparkling cider. He smiled, realizing the drink was a bit childish. "Oh, and if at all possible, could I get a side of mashed potatoes along with the beef? Possibly au gratin? Thank you!" Kurt looked around the restaurant and leaned back smiling. It's nice to live the good life once in a while.
13. Sparksmith listened intently to the girl's violin solo. He started to tap both of his feet in sync with her song, following closely. He was blown away. He hadn't heard such a skilled violinist in a long time. At the end of the performance, he stood and applauded loudly. "That was brilliant! I've never heard a violin sing so beautifully." He remade his drum kit rather quickly, the sparks quickly flying from his hands too the floor, with his kit sprouting up like fast growing flowers. He then twirled his drumsticks between his fingers. "So, which acts are going to need some percussion to go with them? I don't mind helping anyone out, and I can do other things besides the drums."
14. It has a +8 bonus because of its size. Search "Doc Otaku" in the Freedom City book.
15. "All right. Let's start this up." The two swirling sparks spin faster and faster around Sparksmith, until colliding into him, reshaping his force field into what appears to be a karate gi with gloves and a headband. The gloves glow brightly as Sparky flies up to the Doctor's Mecha's head. He shouts, "Try this one on for size!" loudly and collides a single glowing fist against the bottom of the robot's face. "SHIN!..." His second fist glows even brighter, coming up quickly, smashing against the metallic jaw. As he follows through with the punch, "...SHORYUKEN!" Sparksmith spins slowly 180 degrees, then floats back down to the ground, turning around to face the pompous villain. As soon as he turns, he outstretches his hands, each releasing 5 parks (10 total). The sparks collide between MechOtaku and the heroes, then expand quickly, creating a 50ft cube, making a battle arena for the participants in an attempt to ensure the safety of the civilians in the area. "Game on."
16. All right. Standard Action: Strike 5 (Energy Weapon; Extras: Autofire 3, Penetrating 6; Power Feats: Mighty, Improved Critical 2, Affects Insubstantial 2, Precise) [32/32PP] Base DC:25 + Accurate Attack = Base DC:20 1d20+15=30 Which means the DC goes up from Autofire by a full 10 if I'm correct. Next, Surge Standard Action: Create Object 10 (Energy; Extras: Moveable; Power Feats: Selective, Tether ) [32PP] Make a 50ft Cube around us good guys and the bad guy, so that he can't touch any civilians or the mall right away if he wanted to.
17. Sparksmith eyes widened at the look of the demons and devils. Evil, evil, evil...and...evil... Yeah, I'll take em out. Sparksmith raised his hand in front of the speaking demon's face. "Now stop. Hammer time." Two large hammers made of energy appear in Sparksmith's hands. He starts spinning with his arms outstretched, hitting the one shouting little Imp, two warriors, and a brute, being careful not to hit any of the civilians in the bar. As each being is hit in the face, they instantly "poof," much to Sparky's surprise. As he stopped spinning, he looked around. "Wow... did I do that? Hah!" He spun his hammers in his hands. "That was more effective than I thought it'd be."
18. So I know what to write IC. I'll post here first. Hero Point: Heroic Feat: Takedown Attack. Sparksmith will take 10, making his Strike a 20 to hit: Strike 5 (Energy Weapon; Extras: Autofire 3, Penetrating 6; Power Feats: Mighty, Improved Critical 2, Affects Insubstantial 2, Precise) [32/32PP] He will be using two hammers, and spin in a tornado, hitting each demon as the one before it falls. Base DC25

What is the worst thing someone has done to you? Adam once wrote a false essay, put Kurt's name on it, and managed to get it to the teacher before Kurt's. In what order? Goodness, Family/Allison (tied), his other friends, New York, Freedom City, the United States. Who or what do you trust the most? Why? Allison and his father. If so, what is the most rewarding part? If not, what makes you keep doing it? He loves being a hero. The rewarding part is knowing that he made a difference in people's lives, and made them better. Is there anything that would make you give up hero work, or even switch sides? Nothing. What are your short term goals (what would you like to be doing within a year)? He hopes to be an established hero in Freedom City, living by himself, or with Allison, and helping people all over. What are your long term goals (what would you like to be doing twenty years from now)? Kurt's not a big-picture guy. He prefers to live life closer to the moment. His only plan in 20 years is to be married to Allison, have a kid or two, and keep fighting crime. What is your greatest fear? Why? What do you do when something triggers this fear? He normally treats people kindly and friendly, unless they give him a reason not to. Are you a trusting person? Has your trust ever been abused? He's pretty naive. He trusts too much. Adam would abuse his trust constantly throughout High School and College. Are you introverted (shy and withdrawn) or extroverted (outgoing)? Do you have a lot of self-confidence? After high school, Kurt's been pretty extroverted and full of self-confidence, but there are still times where he will revert back to his old pre-highschool self. How do you act around attractive, available members of your preferred sex? He's surprisingly calm around available women. Allison is constantly on his mind. What are your most annoying habits? He thinks out loud often, something he got from watching too many superhero cartoons and playing video games. No one's ever commented on them, but he's sure it's noticeable. He also frequently taps different beats with his fingers and/or hands on tables or his legs. His friends have commented on it, but if someone mentions that it's annoying he stops. Apples! Do you have a favorite animal? Not particularly. What is your most treasured possession? Why? His necklace with his two class rings. Cleaning anything. He hates cleaning...and preparing food. Do you consider yourself a spiritual person? If so, how do your beliefs affect your life? How important is it to you? Depends on your definition of spiritual. He considers himself spiritual, as he's almost always in deep thought when he's not talking to someone. He's a Christian, but he doesn't align himself with any specific Church. He doesn't give it an important a role in his life as it should, but it does influence his views of goodness at times. Was your faith influenced or molded by anyone special? His parents raised him Christian. If you belong to a religious organization, how often do you attend? Do you have a specific place of worship, or friends within the organization? How much do you agree with the beliefs of your organization? He prefers to worship silently at home. He doesn't believe in everything any specific organization has, so he prefers not to align himself with any of them. Reactions Could you kill? Have you killed? No. Never. What circumstances led to you forming that conviction, or taking that action? It was how he was raised, by a lawyer and a doctor. It's just something he's always believed. Are there circumstances under which you believe it is permissible to kill? What are they? No. How would you react to watching someone kill another person? Would your reaction be different if the killer was a friend or an enemy of yours? He would be horrified and feel guilty that he couldn't stop it. If the killer were a friend, he wouldn't hold back. How would you react if something important was stolen from you? He would freak out and try to get it back at varying degrees depending on how important it was. How would you react to public humiliation? Depending on the degree, he'd either laugh it off or stay out of the public eye for a while. How would you react if a good friend or relative were purposely or accidentally killed? Has it happened to you? He would mourn. He would desperately find the reason such an event transpired and try to prevent such a thing from happening again. What do you consider to be the worst crime someone could commit and why? Mass Murder. If your life were to end in 24 hours, what five things would you do in those remaining hours? Spend time with his family, reveal his feelings to Allison, have a burger, see if there was a way to pass his powers onto another, and do it if he could, or, if he couldn't, buy something nice for everyone he knows.
