1. I've been called in to fill in for Ozoe. :D
2. Hey Aoi, do you mind if I edit my post so Kurt sits next to Supercape?
3. "Oh!" Sparky laughed. "Sorry about that, Guardian. Not a big fan of hitting innocent civilians. I knew you'd be able to take care of them. You could see Sparksmith's hands moving as he spoke, but he was still laying down. Also, Guardian, this is Supercape, Supercpe, meet Guardian." Sparksmith finally got up, a bit bruised, but recovered from the stun of the blast quickly. He walked around the room, looking at the destruction that the accident had caused. All right, Cape, that's a good idea. I think another check around campus would be a wise decision, then, I don't know about you, but I'm probably going to call it a day unless something really bad pops up. Also, Cape, you should know, she's the one who explained the situation to me and told me where to find the Professor. If you see him before I do, let him know he should be very grateful to her."
4. Kurt grabbed Guardian's hand and pulled himself up. "Ah... Thanks Guard." He brushed himself off and smiled, looking around the lab, then back at Liebnez. "Yeah. I'd agree, Supercape. That was pretty well done. Do you think the Dark Doctor will remember anything? I'm guessing no, but I don't think he'd be too happy with a guy who put him inside a Pokeball." After a few seconds, Kurt got a surprised look on his face. "Oh, Cape, before I forget, one of the students... uh... oh right, Haley Heart. I took her to the Starbase Coffee down the road to get her out of the danger. I told her I'd go get her when everything calmed down. You might want to go pick her up and take her to Professor Quill. She'd probably appreciate a familiar face right about now." He winked at him, keeping the secret identity.
5. As the Great Wall dissolved before him, Sparksmith took the rest of the blast full force. His force field also failing to absorb the blast fully, Sparksmith is lifted from his feet, going much farther up than back, hitting the wall where it meets the ceiling, then falling to the floor face-first. "Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwch..." Was the only thing to come out of his mouth. He rolled himself over and just laid there for a bit. Otherwise, unable to move. "H...hey, Cape...did we win?"
6. Reflex Save: 1d20+9 → [12,9] = (21) Well, that's no good. Toughness Save: 1d20+8 → [2,8] = (10) OH DEAR GOD NO. Hero Pointed Toughness Save: 1d20+8 → [11,8] = (19).... OH NO! DAMAGES! Bruised, Stunned.
7. At Cape's command, Sparksmith bursts through the doors to the laboratory, shining a brilliant blue-green with an infected professor inside of what looked like a large syringe. At second glance, Sparky's force field had changed into something resembling a lab coat. With an arm outstretched upward and a single finger in the air, Kurt shouted, "Stand back! I'm going to try science!" A smirk crept across his face as he threw the "syringe" at the hulking anti-professor. The needle "penetrated" the beast's head all too easily, while in reality, it was simply the energy construct phasing through him. As the two Liebnez collided, Sparky looked around. "I said 'STAND BACK!'" With the "ck" of "back," A thick wall sprouted from Kurt's hands which were now outstretched, palm open, left and right. The wall formed into something resembling the Great Wall of China as it encircled the room. The wall crept forward enough to stand guarding the heroes before a dome spawned above it (and, unseen, below it) to shield the building from the imminent danger.
8. "Meta-human, mutant, 'special.' I've heard it all... in one day, actually. I'm glad you like the chair." Kurt made a tiny drum in his hand, and a mini version of him playing it, and tossed it over to Elizabeth. "As for what brought me here, I play the drums. Jazz is always tons of fun to perform, and I was going to ask them if they needed a drummer, or if I could at least play a song with them... but I came a bit too late." Kurt smiled. "But I completely understand where you're coming from. Jazz is a unique form of music. It can do a lot of things for a lot of people. It helps me calm down and clear my mind."
9. "Oh, no thank you. That's quite all right! But I'm the one being rude here, please excuse me. Here I am sitting in this comfy chair, and I didn't offer you one!" Sparksmith whips up another spark-chair, except instead of a fold-up, this time it seemed like something much comfier. "For ultimate comfort, lay your quilt down on the chair and sit down. Recline if you want!" He gave a friendly smile as he tapped his thighs too the beat, paying more attention to the song than the band playing it. "So what brings you to a Jazz show?"
10. Kurt flew through at top speed through the air, looking at his phone to check the time. He was late. Again. Crap, they're going to start without me! He slowed down to a stop as he reached the park. The sound of the band in mid-song put a frown on his face. He missed the beginning. As he landed, though, a smile crept its way back. He couldn't stay upset with this music playing. He looked around rather quickly, tapping his thighs with the music as he does so often. He stopped his scan half-way, seeing that no one else had come alone. He made himself a fold-up chair and sat down before finishing his scan of the crowd. He noticed only one person sitting alone. He lifted his chair and floated over, sitting down right next to her. "Hi there! I hope you don't mind me sitting here, but you seemed lonely. No sense in two people being lonely in the same place, right? The name's Kurt." He extended a hand to shake.
11. For when necessary. Also taking creative criticism And for those curious, this will be fleshing out some of Sparky's backstory as well as telling the story of his first day in Freedom and meeting Master Lee.
12. May 6, 2010 11:37 AM It was a bright, sunny day. Not a single cloud in the sky. Freedom City, and more specifically, Hanover, looked calm and somewhat serene. A new hero flies over Freedom City like a kid running through the park on a spring day. His name was Kurt Smith, The Sparksmith. This was the first day he had ever truly felt free since he was sixteen-years-old. As Kurt soared through the sky, he reflected on what had been happening in his life. College seemed like a lifetime ago. Classes, clubs, eating lunch with friends... it all seemed so far away, but truth was, graduation was yesterday. He had been out of Columbia University for less than twenty-four hours and he's all ready longing for the "old days." I suppose that's what happens when so much of your life changes within a few hours. Twenty four hours ago I was an average college student with a major in 'space' and a minor in 'International Studies' having lunch with his four closest friends. The next minute, it all started to change... His train of thought stopped. His friend had told him about an old Martial Arts school in Freedom City, and Kurt just found it. Master Lee's School of Self Defense. He landed in front of the door and knocked. As he waited for some sort of response from inside, Kurt took out his phone and responded to a text.
13. Kurt sat at the bar a bit longer, drinking one more glass of water before getting up and looking for his seat. His seat wasn't exactly close to the stage, though. Mezzanine seating, pretty high up on the balcony, but he was used to it. He had seen plenty of Broadway shows from similar spots. This is really nice. I miss going to Broadway shows every month... but Master Lee and the hero business put a damper on going to New York for a day. Worst part is I have to come to this alone. I wish I had some comp... hey... is that Estelle? and Moira? Aww... they must be on a date... I hope they enjoy themselves! Kurt smiled at the romance in the air as he sat back and waited for the curtain to open.
14. Thank you, Doc. How about the Blast thing? With the trade off is that still all right?
15. I forgot to list the trade off. it was -2 attack and +2 damage. the 16 is for the array itself, not for the powers, which is why the Blast is 12. I can see what you're saying about Nemesis, but I was wondering if there was a way to bring back powers that he had previously mimiced. Also, for Mimic being 24, If I read the Core Book correctly, it said for 1pp/rank you can copy a single thing of a single trait (Like one power) and 2pp/rank would be all of their powers at once. if I go with the 1pp/r with the extra, wouldn't that be 24? As for Atomic Think Tank, I've just never posted there before. I'll take your advice though :)
16. Hey guys, I'm starting up an M&M campaign up at college and I need some help with my new character. I realize that the basis for this character, Mega Man, would not be approved here, but I'm looking for general advice. Keep in mind, since this isn't for FC, keep your house rules at the door, you won't be needing them. (Yes I know it's one point over, I'll fix that later.) (Format was a copy/paste export tool from a spreadsheet I use to keep track of my characters deleting some stuff that isn't important.) ----------Ability Scores--------- Strength: 10 (0) Dexterity: 16 (+3) Constitution: 16 (+3) Intelligence: 20 (+5) Wisdom: 16 (+3) Charisma: 14 (+2) -------------------------------------- ----------Saves--------- Toughness: +10 Fortitude: +9 Reflex: +9 Willpower: +9 -------------------------------------- ----------Combat--------- Attack Bonus: +8 Damage Bonus: Unarmed +0 Grapple: +8 Defense Bonus: +10 (+5 flat footed) Initiative: +3 -------------------------------------- ----------Skills--------- [*:3sarbqi2]Computers - 5 (+10) Mastery [*:3sarbqi2]Concentration - 4 (+7) [*:3sarbqi2]Knowledge: Technology - 5 (+10) Mastery [*:3sarbqi2]Notice - 7 (+10) [*:3sarbqi2]Perform: String Instruments - 8 (+10) Mastery [*:3sarbqi2]Perform: Singing - 8 (+10) Mastery [*:3sarbqi2]Sense Motive - 7 (+10) -------------------------------------- ----------Feats--------- [*:3sarbqi2]Skill Mastery (1): Choose 4 skills you can take 10 with [*:3sarbqi2]Power Attack: Reduce attack bonus to increase damage bonus [*:3sarbqi2]All-Out Attack: Reduce defense bonus to increase attack bonus [*:3sarbqi2]Accurate Attack: Reduce damage bonus to increase attack bonus [*:3sarbqi2]Diehard: Automatically stabilize when dying-------------------------------------- ----------Powers--------- -------------------------------------- ----------Cost Summary--------- Abilities: 32 Combat: 36 Saves: 18 Skills: 11 Feats: 6 Powers: 48 Total Cost: 151 --------------------------------------"
17. For Sparksmith: Updating the profile section of his sheet first Alternate Identity: Kurtis "Sparky" Smith Identity: Public Birthplace: Long Island, New York Occupation: Martial Arts/Weapons Trainer Affiliations: Master Lee's School for Self Defense Family: Mary Smith (Mother) and Peter Smith (Father) Birthday: January 12, 1988 Age: 22 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Italian/English Height: 6'0" Weight: 150lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Speech Color: Dark Blue Second, New Complication: Father always said, "Do no harm.": Sparksmith cannot do harm to an innocent person or a friend. Even if they, or he, is mind controlled, or otherwise unable to control their actions. If the target is mutated, he'll fight reluctantly unless there are signs that whoever the creature was is still in their head. Exceptions are rare at best. Done by Sandman XI
18. Ok, would this be legitimate? Move Action: Move into room Standard: Toss Liebnez into Anti. Surging Standard before what seems to be an explosion about to happen: Create Object around the room, and by that I mean, instead of trapping the beast, I create an object around the outline of the room, ALSO covering Guardian, Sparky, and Supercape.
19. Sparksmith's drumset faded away as he stood up and ran over to the snack table. He looked like he should be exhausted, but he seemed to still have a lot of energy left. "This entire day was a blast! We should do this more often, even if there isn't a concert coming up. Oh, and Estelle, here, let me give you my number. Kurt flips open his phone, and is shocked by the time. "Oh crap... Master Lee's going to kill me. Didn't think this thing would go so late." He opens his My Contact Info page and gives her the phone so she can copy it, then takes it back as soon as she's done. "Well. Late is late to him. Might as well stick around a little longer for some free food." Kurt smiled wide as he grabbed some chips off the table and started devouring them as if he hadn't eaten in months.
20. I'm at all possible, Sparksmith is always up for an adventure. If people back out, let me know! Edit: especially if it's the hospital. Sparksmith's dad works at Freedom City Medical Center.
21. O..Okay, Cape... I'm g..gonna go get Libnez... I'll b...be waiting behind the door. J...Just call me in when y... you guys are ready... Sparksmith was still shaken up, but not enough to think clearly. His flight speed and his sparks were the only things fast enough to safely transport an infected being. He flew through the doors to the bright sunny day outside. The smoke had almost completely cleared. Sparky waved to the firepersons as he swooped down with a giant energy ice-cream scooper to pick up the scientist he had wrapped up earlier. He flew with the not-so-hulking figure in front of him until he went back inside to the door to the lab. Once there, he took cover behind the door, holding the scientist in the energy scooper. He added a small dome over it, just in case, and waited for Cape to give him the signal.
22. Free: Speak Move: Fly outside Free: Array switch to standard Create Object Base power Standard: Create Object around Libnez. Remains in front of him as Sparky flies (Swings around as he turns.) Move-by Action: Fly back in with tethered Libnez and wait behind door.
23. Video, Sparky didn't start running yet. He's just kinda, taking a few steps back. He's shaken up, but not terrified. Also, isn't Demoralize a Standard Action?
24. "Shoot, the Pokemon broke free!" He quoted the video game just before the monster spoke. "AH...oh... h...hey guys... better idea... L..let me run outside...grab that guy... bring him back over here...I...I can j..j...just.. ya know, carry him in a..a..thing. Sparky had been shook up from the brute's scream. His force field fluctuated around him, making it seem like some sort of static were interfering.
