  1. As Muse woke up, Sparksmith smiled, but it soon turned sour when he heard the demon. He looked on as it spoke and vanished. When it disappeared, he brought his head down. He looked around at his allies. Everyone was upset about what had just happened. So serious... He looked up to where the beast stood and yelled "Yeah! You better run!" Then looked back down at his allies. "Heh, piece of cake, right?" He hoped for at least a slight chuckle, or a small smile, but then he looked back at the building, covered in fire and pillars of Earth. He then looked to the unconscious Jermaine. With his wise-cracks being ignored, he became serious again. "Let's head to the hospital. I'm sure someone there will be able to help out."
  2. He whispered to Muse, "Come on, Elizabeth, back me up here." Kurt walked up to the sword and gun, eying them both. He knew a lot about weaponry and he was a bit curious. It didn't distract him, though... You guys seem like good people. I'd hate to see good people resort to such horrible things to get by. If there's anything I can do to help you out, please tell me. He looked up from the weapons, now looking at the couple. "What will you do now?"
  3. "Well, no one ever said you have to be heroes. There are other things you can do with your abilities." Sparky walked closer. motioning to where the "band" was performing as he spoke. "For example: where did the music come from? I don't see any speakers around, so I'm guessing Light made the music. You guys could put on concerts and charge admission. In this town, an illusory performance should pay the same as a normal one if the music is good... and as long as you say it's illusory. And for you? Heroing may not pay the bills, but law enforcement does." Sparksmith smiled. "Everyone may not be cut out to be a hero, but no one needs to be a villain."
  4. Sparksmith bowed back, returning the respect that had been given to him. "My friends call me Sparky. It's a pleasure to meet you, Dark. You as well, Light. What business are you going into, exactly? If it's the music business, there are better ways to steal money from people. Have you ever heard of Kesha?" He joked to try to lighten the mood a bit more, but he remained cautious. The man carried a sword AND a gun. Not something you can ignore.
  5. Sparky just took in a lot of information at once. It took him a second to process it, which was the second he shot his gun. "Hey hey hey! Whoa whoa! Hold on! Elizabeth... First of all: Sorry. Didn't know. Second of all: WOW that was cool. Third of all: Calm down a second! The people fell asleep, no reason to jump straight to violence." Sparksmith walked over to them. "Sorry about that. Put the gun down for a second. Momentary peace treaty, all right? If you wanna talk, we can talk. We're all adults here. Let's try to settle this peacefully." "Now, what are you two doin'? You guys really don't seem like the type of people who would want to rob a bunch of random people who just wanted to listen to some music. If it weren't for the costumes I wouldn't expect you to be criminals of any kind. So why are you doing this?"
  6. Diplomacy: 1d20+7 → [18,7] = (25)
  7. Sparksmith: Spend 1pp on 4 Ranks in Diplomacy (+7) Doktor'd
  8. Sparksmith Jazz in the Park Lead Us Not Into Temptation
  9. "LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" Sparksmith yells as he reshapes his butterfly net to something more akin to a large bowl. He uses it to scoop up Muse once again, flying out towards the center of the room. There, he scoops up Breschau for a bit of a faster escape, taking both heroes out the window along with him. Outside, he sets both heroes down. He lightly slaps Muse on the face to wake her up. "Hey, wake up. We're outside. Wake up!"
  10. Sparky thinks of the innocent/friends in direct danger first... so.... Sparky could try to encase both things in a bubble while you hold up the building. that would make sense
  11. About 250 sq. feet... with Make Object 11 I can only get 55. Probably the room we're in and a bit more. I might need to stunt.
  12. I think Sparky can handle that... hopefully. How big is the building? With Selective AND Precise I should be able to pull something off.
  13. Reflex: 1d20+9 → [4,9] = (13) Well crap. Toughness: 1d20+9 → [2,9-1] = (10) (screwed up the bonus, fixed it here) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HP Toughness: 1d20+8 → [15,8] = (23) Bruise and stun I'd also like to bring up the idea of a joint create object to prevent the building from falling. What do you say, Fox?
  14. "Hey, kid... KID!" Sparky checked Jermaine's pulse: barely noticeable, but there. He put the screen of his MP3 player up to his mouth. It fogged up. He was breathing, but very slowly. He was alive, but knocked out. Some blood ran down his head. He wasn't in good condition. Sparky looked up over the counter to see how the others were doing when the possessed Breschau spoke. A chill went down his spine. Not good... not good... Then he noticed Muse. Her glow was inspiring. He happily watched as Breschau returned to his former self, but looked in horror as the demon appeared in the physical realm. He readied his sword. He whispered, looking over to Jermaine. "Don't worry, I'll be right back." Then, Muse fell limp. Sparksmith didn't hesitate a second more. He leaped and flew over the counter to the demon, giving it a clean slash with his energy sword. "GET AWAY FROM HER!" The sword had the same effect on the demon as it did with the beast: the sword cut clean through; harming it without leaving a scratch, followed by the tiny sparks colliding and causing more pain. His sword then formed into something akin to a large butterfly net. He flew past the demon, made a sharp turn, scooped up the fatigued Muse, and flew her back behind the counter where he had started from. He set her down on the floor against the wall. He breathed a sigh of relief, then looked over the counter again, hoping his allies will keep the demons busy while Muse recovered. Please don't come back here...Please don't come back here...Please don't come back here...
  15. All right then. Move: Get between demon and Muse Standard: Strike vs Demon 1d20+12 → [12,12] = (24) DC26 +1 for each point of attack over its defense up to 5. Free: Change Array to Create Object Surge Standard: Create Object Move-By: Scoop up Muse and move her and self behind the counter with Jermaine.
  16. Hey, question, would it be possible for Faust to use a hero point to get a worse roll since he's possessed? Not saying it's a good idea right now, as he might need the HP later for something else, but would that be possible?
  17. Well, against a DC30 Taunt (after the -5), I rolled 1d20+9 → [20,9] = (29)... so... yeah... couldn't beat that. Will save vs Psychic Attack: 1d20+7 → [5,7] = (12) Hero Point: Will Save vs Psychic Attack: 1d20+7 → [8+10,9-2] = [18,7] = (25) Miss by 4. Bruised :(
  18. Kurt spoke quickly, "Sorry for seeming forward, but I had a feeling this was going to turn sour and I didn't wanna worry you. Now that things are, you have to run. NOW. I'll handle whatever's behind this." The constructed shapes disappeared (Letting Elizabeth down softly) as a sword appeared in his hand. "Go!"
  19. Initiative: 1d20+7 → [2,7] = (9)...booo Also, prebattle, switch Array from Create Object to Strike.
  20. Um, question: Is she surging, or did you take a -5 penalty for the taunt to use it as a move action?
  21. "Gossamer?" Sparksmith turned to his new friend with a serious look on his face. "I don't believe anyone would throw this much into a classic. You'll have to excuse me, sir. A friend's in need." Sparksmith floated out of his seat. His blue-green aura shined brightly as six sparks flew around him. Each collided with a different part of his body, donning him in some-what appropriate armor (with symbol on his shield). He flew at the demons quickly, with his spear pointing outward. "Get away from her!" He skewered both demons, effortlessly felling them. After a quick wave and smile to Gossamer, Sparksmith landed and thrust the spear towards the sorceress herself.
  22. "It's more of a hobby, really." Sparky creates two drum sticks and starts to play in the air along with the band. "I'd like to join a band, but I mostly just play around wherever I'm needed. Besides, to be in a band in Freedom City, your power had better be 'plays a mean saxophone.' The musicians around here are crazy talented. For example, this one kid I met a while back had the power to..." He cut himself off. He took a hard look at the band, then at his hands. Something didn't add up. Something was wrong. He needed to get Elizabeth out of there, but he didn't want to worry her... but thinking on his feet outside of battle wasn't his strongest suit. He whispered, "Hey, Elizabeth... um... listen, I'm starting to think that this band isn't exactly... the best. Why don't we go grab a bite to eat or something instead?" Crap... did I just ask her out on a date? That did NOT come out right... Sorry Allison... it's just to get her out of here...
  23. Sparksmith sat with his back against the wall of the building, taking cover. His "floor plan" had disappeared, his phone was gone (in his pocket), and he seemed nervous. Magic... She's using magic to manipulate everyone... once she knows I'm here, I'm gonna be a target too... Sparky was nervous. He wasn't a fan of mind manipulation. He looked at his hands, glowing with one spark each. The beast spoke again. He heard the grunts of his allies and of the beast. His dim energy aura grew brighter. Can't wait any longer... They need me. He stood. His aura shifted to something out of a video game as he spun around, facing the beast. He strolled inside shrugging (as in the picture), speaking very casually: "Hey, Freak, I don't know what your deal is, but messing with my friends' heads?..." He instantly glowed brighter, with a much more serious face. "That's not cool." At that moment, he flew in, a sword forming in his right hand. The sword collides with the monster's stomach, phasing clean through the beast as he flew past it to behind the counter. In its wake, instead of a gaping cut, tiny blue-green sparks floated near the point of attack. The orbs collide with the beast, each one bursting as it makes contact. Behind the counter, Sparky kneels down next to Jermaine, checking to make sure he's all right... or at least alive.
  24. Sparky's gonna float in and smack her in the face. Move action: Move to beast. Standard Action: Strike 6 (Damage 11, Extras: Autofire 2 [11, Reduced Interval], Penetrating 3, Power Feats: Mighty, Improved Critical 2, Takedown Attack) 1d20+12 → [15,12] = (27) Move-by Action: [edit]Move to Jermaine[/edit] I believe that hit. DC26+1 for each point of my attack roll that's higher than her defense. :D
  25. Same attack on the second demon from Takedown 1d20+14 → [9,14] = (23)-2 because I'm dumb = 21 Assuming that kills the second demon, and it's a minion, Sparky can jump to Miss Evil pants herself. Strike 6 (Damage 11, Extras: Autofire 2 [11, Reduced Interval], Penetrating 3, Power Feats: Mighty, Improved Critical 2, Takedown Attack) 1d20+12 → [18,12] = (30) Oh my goodness... Thank you improved crit 2! If it hits, it's critical. DC26 vs Toughness +5 for Crit +1 for every point over her defense my roll was. Minimum DC31, Maximum DC36
