1. GM Lately a strange rash of disappearances has been afflicting the Riverside. For the past three nights a number of children, all under the age of twelve, have vanished during the night. While the number of missing children has finally come to the attention of Freedom City's finest, the police have been unable to find a single lead. There has been no sign of forced entry, no other commonality between the victims beside age and general location. The fourth night since the start of the problem opens clear and bright; the full moon watches as several heroes gather to put a stop to the mysterious misdeeds occurring underneath its gaze.

Allright, I'll get the thread up sometime in the next day or so.

Napping of kids

So I'm going to try my hand at running my own thread. As such, I'm looking for one or two PL 9-11's to help Cheshire solve a kidnapping case in the Riverside district.
5. Walking down the alley, Prescott spots ahead what is apparently some street thug casing the street with her target. Seeing him begin to gather some sort of power into his hand notched him up to meta-street thug. She didn't need some low-life smashing things and possibly scaring off the person or persons running the market. Just as the man began moving to attack he was interrupted by a soft voice. "Attacking a wizards' market isn't the wisest of courses, boy. Maybe you should look for loot somewhere a bit less guarded. Some of us are indeed subtle, but most are just ill-tempered and violent." Behind Push, a woman with too much makeup, black hair, and revealing black clothing stood, blue crystalline wisps of power wafting around her and her eyes practically aflame. "Guess what sort I am."
6. Knowledge Civics and Streetwise (1d20+5=8, 1d20+5=7) Cheshire has now idea who this is! Intimidation (1d20+10=21) Just checking exactly how scary she's managing to be.

Heavy Metal!

I'll go ahead and toss Cheshire into the ring.
8. Cheshire holds action until the spiders come up to the roof
9. Sarah Prescott had been walking along, enjoying the weekend. Then giant spiders had to show, make a big mess, and generally be aggravating. Why couldn't super-villains be considerate and limit their dastardliness to more convenient hours? Quickly stepping into an alley while tossing her shopping into her pocket dimension, Sarah changes into her 'work clothes' and vanishes. Observers see a suited, sword-wielding woman suddenly appear in midair next to one of the spiders. She smacks it upside the head, before vanishing and reappearing on the roof of the webbed building. Cheshire Blade yells down at the spiders, trying to goad them into coming up to roof after her. "Hey uglies, up here! Your momma eats dung beetles!"

11. There was a soft whoosh of displaced air as Sarah Prescott appeared in a deserted alleyway. She was dressed tonight in a trashy goth outfit with heavy makeup. The reason for her rather different mode of dress was the warehouse a few streets over. Cheshire Blade has been patrolling a few nights ago when she ran into some crazy wielding a actual magic wand. He proclaimed that he would drain her power with his 'mighty artifact' and go on to rule the streets. The resulting fight had been surprisingly difficult until she managed to strike the wand itself, causing a small explosion that left the would-be wizard in no condition to continue battle. After interrogating the man before turning him over to the police, Cheshire began looking into where he'd gotten his hands on the magic. A few days of investigation later, and she had tracked down the location of a market selling dangerous magics, and a pass phrase to get herself inside. So she was heading in incognito to take the lay of the place before shutting it down. Anyone going around selling dragon's teeth to just anyone needed a sound thrashing.

15. DONE BY SHAENTHEBRAIN Alright, since I got sneak attacked by the house rules update: Dropping 1 point from skills and lowering arcana by 2 ranks and notice and sense motive by 1 each. Reduce Nightmares to Common frequency. That should put Sarah back within budget. DONE BY SHAENTHEBRAIN
16. DONE BY SHAENTHEBRAIN Alright folks, I seem to finally be back. Requesting that Sarah Prescott be returned to active status. I've also rebuilt her from the ground up, so now she can do stuff besides just stab people. Proposed changes: Player Name: Taar Character Name: Sarah Prescott Power Level: 10 (159/159PP) Trade-Offs: Runeblade (-1 Attack / +1 Damage) Unspent PP: 0 Progress To Bronze Status: 9/30 In Brief: Mystic swordswoman with an life-sucking sword and a snazzy suit! Eyes: Green Hair: Ash Blonde Description: Sarah is a slim, fit young woman who, while attractive, should not be as striking as she is. Closer inspection reveals eyes a shade of green too bright, actually reflecting light at the right angles; an unusual level of physical grace; and a sort of wild, charismatic presence, like some great predator stalking through life. She usually wears her hair drawn into a ponytail and prefers loose jeans with a t-shirt or blouse. Power Descriptions: The surge of power when she first took up the sword left Sarah’s body mystically enhanced as well has gifting her with knowledge of an ancient style of sorcery as well as stray flashes of knowledge and skill, accounting for her new talent for swordplay. It also left her with a need to be slightly more careful around cast iron and bad nightmares from some of the more unpleasant memories she absorbed. Her runeblade is able to partially phase through different dimensions, both allowing her to harm incorporeal beings, but also inflict non-lethal wounds. In addition it is able to twist the fabric of space around her, distorting her actual position from moment to moment. Sarah can also briefly tear open a rift in space and send it slashing through her foes. Sarah's own magic typically expresses itself as blue-tinged, crystalline light, giving a gem-like appearance to any powers she invokes, and she has enchanted a ring with a number of protective spells. History: Born in a mid-sized town in western New York, Sarah had a fairly normal, if slightly nerdy, childhood. After getting into the Hanover Institute on a scholarship program, she majored in Computer Science. Upon graduation, she was able to get a job with the SCC, coding test programs for various pieces of equipment. While she always admired several superheroes and often daydreamed of being one herself, nothing had come of those dreams until a group of criminals attacked the Hunter Museum while she was visiting. A stray energy blast collapsed the floor near where Sarah was hiding, dropping her into a storage room containing several magical artifacts Adrian Eldritch had yet to catalogue. Dazed from the fall, Sarah felt herself drawn towards one item in particular: a large sword that seemed to pulse in time with her heartbeat. The instant she laid hand to the blade, her life changed forever. Her world disappeared in flaming agony as some dark presence within the blade invaded her mind even as a torrent of energy poured through her body. The sword had belonged to a sorcerer-king from the time shortly after the Great Cataclysm. Slain in combat, the wizard’s essence had retreated into the blade, waiting the day when a descendant would lay hands on it. After millennia, the spirit of Sarah’s distant ancestor sought to consume her mind and soul and thus be reborn in her body. Though not understanding what was happening, Sarah refused to submit to the dark will. Whether her determination to live, time having robbed the spirit of its power, or both, the spell was turned back on its caster and the mage was instead destroyed with everything he was given to his many times removed granddaughter. Awakening from the ordeal Sarah found the pain completely gone, a sword, her sword eager to be put to use again, and a whole bunch of bad guys waiting to be thrashed. Since then she has taken up heroics and begun studying the arcane in order to master her new powers. Personality & Motivation: Sarah is friendly if often quiet person, preferring to listen with brief interjections. Formerly fairly controlled, recent events have left her with a tendency towards boredom, a violent streak, and occasionally erratic behavior. Her stubbornness and determination to do the right thing means she fully intends to use her abilities to help protect people. Powers & Tactics: Sarah's preferred tactics are fairly simple. Teleporting hit-and-run attacks against singular targets or standing back and pelting foes with spatial rifts against groups. Complications: :!: Public Identity: Sarah's identity is available enough, but with her family living out of state, she hopes they'll be largely ignored. :!: Responsibility: Employed as a software engineer with the Star Island Space Control Center. :!: Psychic Scarring: The failed possession attempt nevertheless left deep scars upon Sarah’s mind not only weakening her resistance to future mental assaults, it damaged her emotional control, attention span, and sense of self-preservation. :!: Weirdness Magnet: Her new nature, coupled with the powers of her sword, means strange supernatural things are drawn towards her. 17. So after my hiatus, I'm returning to our lovely crime-ridden hive and decided to take the oppurtunity to rebuild my character Sarah while I'm at it. Also refs, I'm putting the fluff into the new format and updating some stuff in it, so pending an okay on the stats I'll post that too to go into the updated character post. EDIT: Made changes based on Raveled's and Quote's advice. Changed the strike to autofire and fiddled with the array a bit, and changed around some skills, moved a feat into powers, and altered the ring
18. Due to various things I can't really muster up the energy required to do much here, and as such Sarah Prescott should probably be archived. I did have fun here so hopefully I'll be able to rejoin later.
19. Sarah uses a HP to gain the Interpose feat to protect the Doc, moves directly in front of him, and uses the Total Defense action for a defense of 24.
20. "Ah, I don't actually have any to see in that murk. I'll just stand here and play meatshield for a bit," said Sarah. She placed herself between Archeville and the combatants, rasing her sword into a guard position.

The Blue Impact

So I finally had an idea for an alt. Premise is a battlesuit that absorbs physical attacks and uses the energy to pump up his otherwise weak attack powers Any suggestions or corrections for bad math?
23. A surprised yowl alerted Sarah to the appearance of Edlrich's missive as her cat darted past her and under the bed. A gathering of mystics actually sounded like an excellent idea to her, hopefully she's at least be able to gain some more contacts to ask advice from. At the meeting room, a knock on the door proceeded a blonde woman in a three-piece suit poking her head through the door. "Oh good, I'm at the right place. I'm not to late, am I?" she asked as she entered. "I'm Sarah Prescott, by the way, since I don't think I've met anyone else here."
24. Sarah, though relaxed slightly that hostilities seemed to have been diffused, looked on with a slightly lost expression as the samurai and the tentacle woman jabbered at each other in moonspeak. When the man stumbled though, she quickly reached out to steady him. "Did he say England?" Sarah asked, turning towards Fusion. "What exactly's going on here?"
