  1. From the trailer I would say its too early to tell if shamalamadingdong will kill it or not though I have not been impressed with anything he has put his name OVER the title of so far. I think it couls be done very well live action actually, however I think in the end this flik will die a thousand tiny deaths at the hands of central casting. The casting is just a nightmare frankly and only a few choices have been released so far. They might pull it off if they really hit it out of the park with the rest of their choices but so far I fear it will be of teh suck.
  2. Ace carefully followed the procedings, Knievels defense was to be expected, it was the norm for psychos to try and use their mental state as an excuse for their behavior. The defense attourny was good he played to the theatrics well, just enough outbursts to make clear that the fellow was not sane, no questions of pertanence followed by a pointless one that would resound with a jury unfamiliar with the diference between the common and legal deffinitions of insanity. Hope fully the prosecution stepped up the game a bit as on the sensationalism scale they were falling ever behind even as the evidence of Knievels crimes mounted. He had seen this play out in many ways over the years and it seemd that rather then actually get his client off Mr. Wright was hoping for an easy escape from a mental institution. Ace made note to free up some funds for an anonymous donation for security should he succeed.
  3. Mike continued to swoop and float above the trees keeping a careful eye out for the girls wrapping things up. He hoped they would be able to join soon as it was getting more and more awkward to just fling the frisbee back and forth without talking and he was no good at chit chat. catching a particularly low toss from Eddie he alighted on the ground next to the girls and asked "So how goes algebra?"
  4. So A+ on Giant Robots Fighting. but over all a C- to D for the continued lack of being Transformers once again the Decepticons were mostly just robots not Transformers. A central gripe I hold over from the first movie.
  5. Are nested arrays a no-no just due to the complexity of tracking how they work or is there a more signifigant reason I'm missing? Personally I think the complexity/clunkyness of it is plenty. I also agree that modling D&D style spells per day doesn't really fit the Comic themes very well. I don't even like them IN D&D, actually.
  6. That is a set-up often debated over at the ATT. Since you're looking for limited per catagory rather than limited overall I think you might be able to use the Unreliable flaw with the option for 5 uses before recharge rather than the failure chance. Basically you would have each catagory as a seperate Magic array (this does get to be more expensive however). Possibly it might be allowed to have nested arrays to allow seperate counters for the catagories but that is sometimes frowned upon. If that was allowed i would do something like the following Magic X (Magical Array; PFs: Alternate power Drawbacks: Power loss{must be able to speak/gesture}) If nesting arrays in this fasion isn't kosher with the powers that be you could get the effect for more points by buying each of the sub arrays without nesting them its just more expensive. M&M doesn't really lend itself well to a spells per day kind of system unfortunately so its just kinda clunky when you try. Doing it as different levels of spells might make it work out to not have to nest the arrays without cost getting out of hand. If you're really trying to model D&D spell lists and want more than 5 spells per day in a catagory you could buy the catagory twice to a total of ten and then voulentarily take less than that or some such.
  7. Mike generally took it slow and easy but when the frisbee flew wide would put on a quick burst of speed leaving a swirling contrail in his wake. Mike truely did enjoyt he flying though he denied it and had some guilt in useing any of his powers. However under the bright sun it was easy to lose himself in the game and evne for a moment enjoy himself. He tried to keep the game close to the ground and his throws were pretty light even by normal standards. So the game wasn't exactly difficult but it was a laidback way to spend the morning and Mike for the moment at least forgot to be surly and moody.
  8. Take 10 on Well Informed Gather Info check for a 26 to recognize the uniforms etc.
  9. Ace glanced over at Phantom and replied "Yes thank you," His gaze lingered for a moment on the gem at their neck "Lucky thing you showed up when you did." Ace then began to move through the crowd checking to see anyone was injured and reassuring the frightened crowd. Ace glanced over his shoulder to Phantom, "Those were Sky Lord uniforms, Last I heard he was dead but it looks like some one has taken up the mantle." He glanced up at the shattered skylight and added "Looks like this was just a simple grab for funds but it might be part of a more extensive plan." Sirens could be heard in the distance approaching quickly.
  10. Just a reminder Mikes damage bonus is only one less than Erins :)
  11. Players Name: NPC Submitted by Angrydurf Power Level: 4 Trade-Offs: None Unspent PP: None Characters Name: Detective Marcus Sandoval Alternate Identity: Height: 5'8" Weight: 175 Hair: Black with a Sprinkling of Grey Eyes: Brown Description: Detective Sandoval is your classic perpetually rumpled detective. He normally wears grey or brown slacks that haven't been pressed since they left the store and off-white shirts usually without tie under a brown overcoat in almost any weather. He has dark black hair with more grey showing through each day that he keeps relitively short but unstyled and often unbrushed. His years and the draining magics at his command have left their mark on his face which is lined with dark circles under his eyes. He is possesed of an intense stare but usually has a somewhat distracted air rarely focusing on people he's conversing with. He is not a tall man nor exceptionally fit but not overweight either. History: Marcus Sandoval was a curious child constantly exploring the world around him froma very young age a trait that woudl serve him well in his adult life. His grandmother always claimed there was magic in the Sandoval line and would talk about her great aunt who had been a respected witch and wise woman in the old country. Marcus was one of the few of her many grandchildren with any intrest though she had little but stories to tell and no knowledge of her own. It wasn't until some friends tried fruitless attempts at magic in high school that Marcus realized she had spoken truth. An odd boy joined thier usual group and he knew some actual magic, Marcus could tell, he couldn't say how but he knew. He also knew he wanted nothign to do with the power the boy wielded it just felt wrong to him, he tried to warn his friends but they thought he was just chickening out. Several of his friends were hurt when the boy overreached and if it hadn't been for the timely intervention of one of a magic wielding hero they likely would have died. Once he graduated high school Marcus pursued a career in criminal justice and forensics putting aside his interest in magic in favor of science. When a series of occult murders began to spread through the Fens Marcus was just a beat cop but he could feel the power of the cult and was able to follow it from one of the crime scenes. After uncovering the culprits in the brutal slayings he was fast tracked to detective. He was assigned to a special branch of the Star Squad dealing with arcane crimes. Over his career he has tracked down quite a few demonologists and cultist of nefarious purpose. He also picked up some skill at magic himself though he is by no means a natural and he finds it exhausting it has poven usefull more than once. After years on the Force he's approaching retirement age but can't stop until he knows theres someone to step into his shoes and keep the city safe from the things that skitter at the edge of human consiousness. He has seen much of the worst humanity has to offer in the course of his work and knows things men like him at the least are not meant to. He drowns his memories in booze but still produces results so there is only cursory complaint from supiriors about his personal habits and thus far he has managed to keep his drinking to his own time. Personality & Motivation: Marcus Sandoval is a good cop even with his problems he's a quality investigator and well liked. He however has spent too much time on the supernatural beat and it has taken its toll on him. He has seen brutal cult slayings and sacrafices to dark gods. He has investigated forbidden tomes of twisted arcane lore in his pursuit of justice. All of this has left him with some weaknesses, most notably his drinking. However when it comes to bizzare arcane or cult activity he's the top guy at the FCPD so some eccentricity is allowed. Powers & Tactics: Detective Sandoval normally focuses on investigation and leaves arrests to younger officers. When pushed into action he normally follows normal police procedures however when faceing an magically empowered foe he is quick to rob them of that advantage and will utilize his magic binding spell rather than chase down a perp. Complications: Alchoholic Stats: 14pp Str: 10 (+0) Dex: 10 (+0) Con: 12 (+1) Int: 14 (+2) Wis: 16 (+3) Cha: 12 (+1) Combat: 10pp Attack: +3 Grapple: +0 Defense: +2 (+1 flat-footed) Knockback: -0 Initiative: +0 Saves: 1pp Toughness: +4 (+1 Con, +3 undecover vest) Fortitude: +1 (+1 Con, +0) Reflex: +0 (+0 Dex, +0) Will: +4 (+3 Wis, +1) Skills: 76r = 19pp Bluff 2 (+3) Concentration 9 (+12) Diplomacy 3 (+4) Gather Information 9 (+10) Intimidate 3 (+4) Investigate 8 (+10) Knowledge(arcane) 9 (+11) Knowledge(history) 3 (+5) Knowledge(philosophy and religion) 3 (+5) Notice 9 (+12) Search 9 (+11) Sense Motive 9 (+12) Feats: 7pp Benefit: Detective FCPD Favored Opponent(Mages) Fearless Equipment 3 Ritualist Powers: 9pp Array 5 (Magic;Flaws: Tiring; Drawbacks: Power Loss ({Must be able to speak}; PFs: Alternate Power 2) [6] BE: Nullify 4 (Dispel Magic; Extras: Area{Burst}; PFs: Affects Insubstantial)[9] AP: ESP 3 (Scrying; Visual, Auditory; Extras: No Conduit; Flaws: Medium{Reflective Surface}; PFs: Subtle{magic awareness needed})[10] AP: Snare 4 (Magic Bindings; PFs: Reversible) [9] Super Senses 3 (Magic Awareness; Detect Magic, Magic Tracking) [3] Drawbacks: 0pp DC Block: ATTACKS: SAVE DC: DAMAGE TYPE: (Name of Attack) (Save DC/Type) (Type of Damage: Bruise/Injury, or other) Pistol ------ 18/toughness ------ Bruise/staged Tonfa ------ 16/toughness ------ Bruise/staged Magic Binding - 14/reflex ------ Entangled/staged Costs: Abilities (14) + Combat (10) + Saves (01) + Skills (16) + Feats (07) + Powers (12) - Drawbacks (00) = 60 Total Cost

Inside the Journal I present to you a sampling of what goes into Mikes everpresent Composistion book cum Journal. First a sampling of 'Poetry' Untitled Around, all around, the mourners gather. My dread grows as the Dark One's touch falls against my naked soul. It smites me, and darkly my essence drips to the barren land. In horror I hang my head while nothingness looms. Now alone, my fervent plea falls upon dead eyes. Darkness Descends the night falls without a sound, stricken are we. the salvation for which you pine flares once, then dies, swept away by guilt. all hope must fail. your soul thrives no more. how could you do this? shadows surround us, crying, we are fallen. More to come...
  13. Mike gingerly took Eddies hand "Sounds like a deal." Mike was trying to make nice and that was more than most got, but he was still trying to get his mind off the whole subject hte thought of discussing the incedent with this near stranger terrified him but he wouldn't have to bring it up again so it should be fine right? Mike was still lost in thought as Eddie drifted off and suddenly tuning back in Mike glanced down at Alex before shrugin and launched himself skyward setting the leaves on the ground blowing in his wake.
  14. Phantoms target flew across the room and fell in a crumpled heap in the corner. The remaining robbers made their way to the center of the room taking quick pot shots at where they thought Ace might be. As the last of them arrived prepared to launch Ace and the civilians appeared Ace Stood in the midst of the shocked soldiers and spoke in a commanding tone with an echo of power behind it "Sleep!" And all but onefall into a deep slumber.
  15. HP to Stunt off the mind tricks array Stun 8 (Extras: Sleep +0, Alt save Will +0, Area:Burst +1; Flaws: sense dependant: hearing -1; PFs: Selective)
  16. Mike internally kicked himself, 'dammit, now he thinks I'm pissed'. Mike looked to eddie and the girls and sighed gathering his thoughts and calming down. He really needed to be less touchy about people actually liking their powers if he was gonna manage at this school. He stood and dusted himself off then slowly walked over givign plenty of time for them to conclude any conversation before he arrived. He liked to think this was to not intrude but he knew he just was dreading trying to patch up his little outburst. As he arrived he looked back and forth at the other teens before speaking "Hey, I'm sorry about that its uhm a bit of a touchy subject. Not your fault." He glanced at the frisbee and then to Alex and the others shiftign uncomfortably but said nothing more.
  17. Well it takes alot of pull really but this is what DOOM has used to get around such issues he does rule a sovereign nation after all. :)
  18. At the sound of fighting the team on the vault door rushs to the front of the bank once more and in concert with the team on the door catch Phantom in a deadly crossfire only to look on in horror as their bullets pass harmlessly through the ghostly heroine. As the gunfire ceases Ace flickers into sight for a moment as he unleashes a mighty blow upon one of the soldiers at the door. Then as quickly as he appeared he is gone. With the appearance of two of Freedoms defenders the commanding officer calls for a retreat and engages his jet pack rocketing up through the broken skylight. He is quickly followed by his companion on the main floor while one of the soldiers on the door moves towards the center of the room to prepare his egress, firing a tight burstinto the space Ace was last seen to no effect.
  19. I think a comic-verse trial would go quicker/more sensational than an IRL trial. I don't think thats much of a stretch really. There is an immunity to Jailtime benefit its diplomatic immunity. You get deported but can have it reinstated despite that if you have pull in your home nation.
  20. He burned his only VP already
  21. Mike waited a few moments after Erin stepped up and glanced at Tasha expectantly when she makes no move to go next he shrugs his shoulders and steps forward to the platform waiting for Ironjaw to indicate he should punch. His mind was racing but he centered himself knowing that if he didn't give it all he had they wouldn't know what he had to learn. HE balled up his fist and focused on striking the device as hard as he could.
  22. Ace activates concealment on everyone but the gunmen within fifty feet if they accept it. Skill mastery diplomacy check to keep everyone calm and down low as he asked for a 22, 26 if they think he's hot.
  23. The two signaled interlopers make their way down the hall to the vault and begin their work while the remaining gunmen menace the assembled patrons and begin moving them into a group. One gunman begins emptying the tellers drawers into pack while the his partner orders the Tellers to move out into the customer area. Ace goes slowly to his knees hands still raised and eyes fixed on the leader, "Stay down and this will all be over soon everyone just remain calm." The officer grins at Ace's words but his grin fades as Ace, Taylor, and the assembled customers grow hazy and vanish from sight. The commander quickly begins barking orders the gunman who had been holding the tellers hostage moves to the door at his comand and his fellow on the main floor moves to cover the officer as well all of them peering intently looking for what happened to the civilians. The man filling the bag hurries to continue but is slow to move from his now isolated position.
  24. Go ahead and take that HP then you'll start on your init on round three.
