  1. Rot "Um . . . what? You were the one that told me these guys were trying to kidnap you. You literally make no sense, Lawrence." And Consuelo rolls her eyes. "And also, if changing the past just creates a new time-line but doesn't erase the old one, why does it, like, matter if we interfere or not? But whatever. I can lie low. But if King Kong-Tut peeks into this alley, I'm disintegrating his Ace-bandage-wrapped behind!"
  2. I guess it's not really cheating to talk strategy, since the characters would presumably have a moment to converse before encountering Dragon-Ashley. Rot is thinking to attack the Umbral Star itself, or at least the energy coming out of it, if for some reason she can't attack it directly. She's says she'd like to fly in the hole in the roof, to provide a direct path to it.
  3. "Okay, be careful!" The Albright employee (Bernadette's double noticed her nametag said "Carnelia Harvest") sends her one more worried look before running (pretty quickly) down the hallway. As the second iteration of Multi-Girl re-enters the room, green-haired Consuelo is still straining to help her friend keep a pin on her ill-tempered alternate. She grabs two handfuls of purple dreads and wraps them around her double's neck. "This is, like, totally not what I thought I would be doing today. . . ." Unable to wriggle free at all, Ruin yells at her assailants. "Get offa me, you creeps!" The air in the room warps and darkens with her anger, and both versions of Multi-Girl feel an unpleasant hollowing sensation.
  4. Consuelo will keep helping Bernadette for the +2 to her grapple check. Ruin will lash out with disintegration, only this time targeting both Multi-Girl and her double. So, DC 18 Reflex save for half effect then rank 8 Toughness Drain and rank 8 damage for each. Carnelia will dash off down the hallway to try to get more help while the heroes continue to try to contain Ruin.
  5. If Timeout, Gamma Buzz, and Puma are staying with the civilians and Starblights, then Rot would join Spaceman vs. Ashley. Maybe Goldstar could join vs, Ashley too, and Torpedo Lass as they're able, with total understanding they may have to sit out for the moment?
  6. Rot Consuelo holds up two fingers then puts them down. Then she holds did the same thing again. Then she holds up all ten. Then she shakes her head and sits the whole process over. "Uh . . . I think I'll be born in, like four months? But, hey Lawrence, what if this is like people from the Collapse cult trying to kidnap you? Maybe you should, like, stick in the middle of the group, so it's, like, easier to protect you, you know?" Consuelo looks around the group for approval. "Maybe a couple of our fast flyers could scout around a little, unless we have a reason to all move out together. . . ."
  7. Okay. I'm leaning towards facing Ashley, unless everyone else piles on to her. Then she'd go after the monsters attacking the Starblights.
  8. Hmm, I'm a little torn. Rot would default towards prioritizing saving bystanders, unless it was clearly under control. Given Timeout's extra super super powers, that might already be handled by her Initiative count. On the other hand, it would be nostalgic for her to try to double team Draco with Spaceman. On the other other hand, protecting the depowered Starlights from the monsters would work well as Southside girl solidarity. So, I guess I'll roll Initiative and just see where other characters move and fill in wherever it looks like a hole. Initiative: 20
  9. Rot Before stepping into whatever portal gets conjured, Consuelo offers a little pre-fight scheming. "So, uh, like, from a, you know, strategy perspective, Ashley Two, aka Sentry Draco, is the blonde with the purple outfit. And she shoots, like dragon-blasts or whatever." "What does Felix look like? Oh . . . actually maybe it will be really obvious, because Felix is the only dude. Is Felix a dude? Does his super outfit, like, have a skirt too? Is it,uh, one of those, you know, like Sottish man-skirts?" She seems lost in thought for a minute, but quickly recovers. "So, like, I was thinking . . . Maybe we don't really have to worry about Paradox, you know? Cause, like, if they already know that we're going to win, maybe they won't even get involved. Or maybe, like, Lawrence and Paradox will get into a debate about how time and the future work and that will keep them out of the fight. . . " That's pretty much all the young super can think to share with the team, so she moves over next to Carmen and checks in with a quieter voice. "Hey, uh, you're not planning on attacking, like, all of them again are you? Like, the ones besides Ashley and Felix and stuff?"
  10. Rot Consuelo had done her best to enjoy Fiji. She did get back out into the water again, although she was much more careful after the experience with the dolphin. And the place was so beautiful . . . And there was a really good setup for video games in the basement. But, despite that, she felt like there was a tension hanging over the group ever since Lawrence had made his speech at the beach fire. But who can blame anyone for that? That was weird. Speaking of weird, Lawrence had apparently teleported them to the wrong place, and now seemed stressed out about it. "Hey, don't worry about it, L-Dog. At least you didn't teleport us all into a mountain or something. Just try again."
  11. Rot Consuelo couldn't help but feel a little aggravated as Parker leaned into the idea that Lawrence was the one person that had to save the world. Figures. He probably thinks the same thing about himself, too. She looked forlornly at the neglected Superiority Jar. Just a few crumpled bills in there. Probably forgotten. Dang! I really wanted to help Parker - he's so cute! But I guess it's true you really can't change a person. . . . Consuelo thought she had done a good job of being neutral and supportive of Lawrence. He does sound a bit annoyed at me. I guess that would be normal for someone in his position, though. He probably sees everything through the filter of his traumatic childhood, finding evidence to support the crazy stories he was told in every experience. He probably even thought that nonsense with Quirk confirmed it. Poor guy.
  12. Rot As Lawrence continued with his story, several things clicked into place in Consuelo's head, and her mind arrived at the most logical conclusion, based on what she was hearing. Wow. I've heard about this kind of thing before on TV. A kid gets raised in a cult, their mom gets them out, but the cult keeps trying to get them back. And, like, being raised in a cult seems to always really mess with the kid's head. Looks like Lawrence is no exception. He seems to literally believe he and he alone has to save the multiverse. Yikes! It's a little weird the rest of the kids are just taking what he's saying as true . . . I guess that's what happens when you have godlike powers and your family is super rich and well-connected. People believe you no matter how crazy what you're saying is. But, I mean, it all just sounds so unrealistic. Still, it's good that he's reaching out, though. "Lawrence, it's, like good that you're talking about your past. People care about you. We care. You can always talk. And . . . no matter who told you that you alone have to save the world, I don't think that's true. That's just a voice in your head. You're part of the world. All that pressure is make-believe." "You're part of our family, even if you are really stuffy and aloof."
  13. Soooo . . .. Do Lawrence and Parker have ways to help the whole team get to Michigan Street ASAP?
  14. Rot "Yeah, who's this Paradox guy? Between them and Sola, Ashley and Felix seem like small potatoes. I think we need, like, a little more information before we go messing around with your infighting, you know?" Consuelo hesitates a moment before adding: "It's not like I don't want to help you or anything. Ashley Two is, like, way out of line. I made this book for her about why you shouldn't hurt whales. But I don't know if it will be enough."
  15. Rot "No, I'm fine!" Consuelo insists to classmates concerned about her. She really does look surprisingly fine for someone that nearly drowned just a few moments ago. Her color has returned and her temperature seems normal. She's alert with no signs of nausea or difficulty breathing. "I'm sure I didn't breath in any water. But if you don't believe me. . . ." Consuelo holds one hand up in front of her and opens her mouth wide. A twisting tendril of shadow snakes out from her palm and enters her mouth as she inhales. The shadows flow down into her open mouth, and she rolls her eyes and bobs her head back and forth a little, as if she is impatiently waiting fur something. The shadows recoil back into her palm and she smiles. "No water in there now!"
  16. Rot Consuelo really hopes Vueriz likes the freon canister she brought her. It had been hard to keep it a secret this last week. But this firelit beach hangout is not all about cute and thoughtful gifts. No. After Spaceman and Torpedo Lass took turns advocating for their favored isolated realms of deep space and deep ocean being the most profound, Timeout kicked it up a notch with his soliloquy on the many strands of time. Consuelo listened as the great ones spoke. When there was a pause in the dialog, she shoved another six marshmallows in her mouth and added her perspective. "Spathe. The final fwontieyuh. O ithit? Whathabouth the otheanth thdeep? O pehapth the fwow of thtime itthelppf? Hwhitch of theefs ithuh mostth pwofoundth? Pfindouth onthuh nexth epithode ofthuh thupewiowitthy jurth! Donathonth now extheptthed!" Rising to a difficult crescendo through her muzzle of whipped sugar and gelatin, Consuelo victoriously whips out a second rounded canister-shaped object from her duffle bag. Only this one is a large glass jar (perhaps the home of many pickles, long ago). It has a slit in the lid, a few dollar bills inside, and a label taped to it on which was written the word "Superiority".
  17. Rot "Ooh, 'Iris' - that's a pretty name! So are you guys, like, twins? Wow!" For some reason, Consuelo seems pretty excited to meet twins. "Robot? Oh yeah, this robot came and got me out of jail and brought me here." Consuelo leans in close. "You may not believe this, but until, like, a month and a half ago, one of the side effects of my powers was to give off this creepy, repulsive aura. It made dealing with people suuuuuuuuper challenging!" She really draws out the "U" in the word "super". "So that's how come they had to send a robot to get me. Cause robots weren't affected." And she shrugs. "People don't always think about it, but having powers can come with a lot of challenges. I bet you guys had challenges with your powers, huh? But I guess you at least had each other to lean on, like, being twins and all. . . ." Consuelo smiles and raises one eyebrow as Owain and Bernadette talk about the tee-shirt she made. "Thanks guys! But, my dear, sweet Owain. You could never afford one of my tee-shirts. It's contemporary high art." And she gives him a mock pitying look. "Yeah, I totally love gaming too, Daniel. Uh, do you prefer Daniel or, like, just Dan? Yeah, but not books so much. The pages kind of like, disintegrate when I touch 'em a lot. I never thought about acting, but that might be fun too." It seems like Consuelo has an easier time relating to Daniel than to the more reserved Iris.
  18. Rot Consuelo had gradually made her way down beach towards the fire, canvas duffle bag dragging in the sand behind her on its heavy steel chain. She liked sitting in the sand. It was relaxing. She didn't have to worry about accidentally disintegrating the furniture. She had found a place near Vueriz and accepted a marshmallow from Michael. But no grams, chocolate, or roasting. That mallow was going straight in her mouth! Along with three others. "Hey, Vuewith! Can yuh twanswatuh unnastan me wiffa mawfmawowvz in ma mouf?" Then she laughed, which resulted in her nearly choking to death. After she recovered, she leaned over to Vueriz again. "I might not have experiences with cosmicly remote places I can whip out and compare, but I have been to the basement where Fred the maintenence guy keeps all the really old spare parts. And on my journey, I managed to find you this!" And Consuelo whips a pale green canister labeled "R-22" out of her duffle bag. "Behold Roomie! Fred said this was a freon canister. When I told him you like to snack on ski wax, he said you'd probably love this. Plus, he said he's not supposed to have it anymore, so we'd be doing him a favor by taking it. I saved it as a surprise for this trip!"
  19. Rot "Oh yeah, let's do a campus tour! I've never done like an official campus tour before. We can, like, see all the boring stuff, and then I can show you my dorm room, Vueriz. Hey, do you think you could use your alien technology to make me an indestructible bed? I have this problem where I accidentally disintegrate whatever I'm sleeping on. I usually just sleep on steel pans, and change them out every so often. But if you could like make me an invincible bed. . . . " Consuelo appears lost in thought for a moment. Thought apparently having completed, the green-haired teen returns to the conversation. "So do you, like, eat normal people food? Or do you have to have special alien food? Wait!" And Consuelo freezes in place with her hands held out. "Do you even sleep?"
  20. Rot The longer Orion talks, the deeper the scowl of confusion gets on Consuelo's face. "Uh what? Why would getting beat up and dragged off to juvie take away someone's powers? I mean like, oh, no wait, are you saying that if one of you guys is kept away from the Thunder Star for too long, you lose your powers?" Consuelo sticks her tongue out of one side of her mouth as she thinks. "But what about, like the monsters? Say we can do this, and Ashley dos and Felix do lose their sparkle powers. Weren't the monsters, like, kicking your butts and that's why the Thunder Star had to like empower those two? To, like, save you? Maybe, like, you should try to fight Queen, uh . . . Solstice while number two Ashley still has powers even though she's like, a total tool." "I mean like, it's not my deal, but it seems like Solstice is your, you know, ultimate problem and Ashley and Felix are only, like, your most recent symptom." And Consuelo looks around at her friends for validation.
  21. Consuelo piles on top of her double along with Bernadette. "This is so weird. But like, what are we going to do now?" Rot might be stumped, but Ruin has an idea. "Let go of me, you traitors! Arrrgh!" The air around the trio darkens and distorts, and Bernadette experiences an unpleasant sensation like she's being blurred out. But the two young heroes manage to keep a firm grip on the squirming troublemaker, despite her lashing out with her powers. Just outside the room, the green-skinned lady from Albright listens to Multi-Girl's double with a look of even more mounting concern. "Doctor Adamu? Oh . . . . " Her face becomes resolved and she looks at Bernadette's alternate. "Maybe I can find her. You can come with me or stay here . . . for this." And she gestures towards the scuffle back in the ISL room.
  22. Nice. So looks like just a 3 point Toughness Drain for Multi-Girl, which should return at 1 point per round. I'll get a game post up.
  23. Rot A rusty-hinged door in the art wing made a squeak and out bounced a green-haired teen, somewhat under-dressed for the cool February weather. "Hey Bernadette, hey Owain. Hey, look at . . . Oh wait, are you guys, like, new here?" she asked as she waived one hand around to encompass Daniel, Iris, and Ryan. "I'm Consuelo. Welcome to Claremont! I still remember my first day at Claremont like it was four and a half months ago! Seriously, I really don't know what I would have done if that robot hadn't gotten me out of jail and drug me over here. So, are you, like, getting 'the tour'?" Consuelo made air quotes for this last little bit, and seemed like she's just about ready to listen to the new students, when she suddenly remembers something. "Oh hey, everyone check out my new tee-shirt. I just made it in silk screening class!"
  24. Right on. Looks like Reflex save, fortitude save, Toughness save then.
