Arrow watched aghast as her muscle-bound freak of a target blocked her arrow as if it was an especially annoying gnat. "Oh you have to be-" She stopped herself mid-rant. Lords didn't whine, and Olivia did not plan on breaking that tradition, especially with Nevermore and Raven around. More over there was the continuing fight that she still had to attend to. Giving a Nevermore a quick, and slightly begrudgingly, nod for his takedown of the big guy, the archer promptly moved out again in such of fresh targets. She rather quickly not one but two under the warehouse skylight. Raven seemed to have one on the ropes but the two still looked capable of carrying on. Wanting to remedy that unacceptable situation, the archer rapidly fired her shots at the two goons, each one primed to release another punching glove to the dom.
  2. "For them or for you?" She quipped back at Zack. The technie looked as if he was to blow a gasket if he didn't get a chance to deck Casanova in the face. It was sentiment, she had most of the time whenever she bothered to even think of Shield and it was something Olivia was just perfectly fine with accommodating. "Don't worry, I'll handle them." Said handling involved her trick arrows. Shift being in the mix would have been a problem for a lesser archer, but Arrow was anything but. Pulling a specialized anti-riot adhesive foam arrow from her quiver, she and aimed at confidentially at the group of rival would-be heroes. Taking a second to pick a particularly gullible looking target, her eyes eventually landed on Chump. With a coy smile on her lips she called the large teen out. "Think fast you over-sized lummox!" For a moment it looked as if she was about to launch the very sharp looking bolt right into Chump's face only for her to suddenly direct her bow upwards in an arc . From that position, she actually did loosen her arrow, sending it upwards and into a curve that abruptly ended with it exploding in mid-air and bursting out five smaller arrows that fell upon the New Freedom League in a shower of bolts.
  3. Since all the super baddies are conveniently bunched together, Arrow is going to burn a Hero Point and add a new power to Trick Arrow array that will hopefully keep them stuck in one place: Snare 5 "Stick Arrows Volley" (Extra: Area [Targeted, Burst: 25 Ft. Radius]) (Adhesive) [15PP] Move Action: Going to start things off with an attempt Taunt attempt on Chump. Since Arrow has Fast Task: Taunt it can be done as a Move Action without that pesky -5 penalty. Got a 35. Free Action: Swapping Standard Arrows for new Stick Arrows Volley on the Trick Arrows Array. Standard Action: Attacking the entire New Freedom League with a Targeted/Burst Snare Effect. Got a 15 on the collective Attack. That's a DC 15 vs. Reflex.
  4. Arrow IV Playdate (2 posts) Capers and Casanovas (2 posts) = 4 IC posts = 1PP to Arrow IV Ultra Girl Mars Connection (1 posts) = 1 IC posts = 1PP to Ultra Girl
  5. Ultra Girl is trying to see if she talk sense into the Ultio-Suits tailing her. Diplomacy Check: 21
  6. Above the skies of Jadetown, Ultra Girl would have had a pretty good bird-eye view of the busy enclave's extensive Chinese architecture. It would have made for a rather scenic sight that she might have even saved an image of it to her postronic brain's internal image gallery. Alas, she was to preoccupied with the approaching Ultio Suits to appreciate it. The heroine scowled as her sensors caught sight of the Ultio Suits. She was never fond of the heroes for hire, and her encounter with Dreamer had only intensified those feelings. Still, even with that animosity in mind, Ultra Girl nonetheless descended from the clouds to get into vocal range of the surrounding Ultio-Suits. It hadn't worked last time but she still felt as if she had to at least try to resolve things diplomatically. "Hey guys," she waved rather awkwardly at the suits before realizing it probably won't make it easier for them to take her seriously. "Look, I fought a couple of you before because of a misunderstanding. How about we not repeat that and instead go about being heroes. You know, actually helping people instead of wasting out time fighting each other?"
  7. Gotcha, RocketLord. I thought Arrow was ahead of the Big Guy and wasn't how far he had advanced in his move action. I think I'll nix Arrow's own move action and just stick with her standard action if it means avoiding the Big Guy's attack of opportunity.

Behind her mask Arrow's eyes narrowed as she saw her shot go wide and go right past what should have been an easy target. That glare turned into an outright grimace when one goon with a bat tried to get swing off of her while she was momentary distracted. Though she deftly dodged the blow and allowed the blind idiot's own momentum to send him running right past her in the dark, it hardly improved her mood. She had planned on making a few shots on the apparent leader that Raven was currently tangling with after dropping the tall enforcer but fate apparently had different ideas in mind as said enforcer was slowly but surely making his way towards her. Fortunately, Charlie managed to stall the tall man's approach just long enough that she was able to get at another boxing glove arrow from her quiver. Using the extra time she had from Nevermore's distraction, she pulled back her bowstring in an usually aggressive fashion to add an extra bit of draw power to her shot. Confident that she'd get the tall bastard this time around, she aimed right at his head.
  9. Sorry for the delay! Move Action: Going to back away from the eastern-most container and move to a space near the two containers that are near the big X so Arrow can get into line-of-sight with the folks Raven's grappling. Hope that makes sense. Got a visual aid below if it does not. Standard Action: Going to take advantage of Nevermore's set-up and attack the Big Guy again with a Standard Arrow. Going to boost its DC by 5 with Power Attack. Got a 12 on the Attack, but I'll be re-rolling that with a Hero Point. I got a 26, which is a crit! Add another +5 to the DC. That's a DC 30 vs. Toughness altogether. ?
  10. Olivia rolled eyes at Shift and Luke's excuses for the security team. Why some people made such excuses for incompetents never failed to amaze, but she allowed the disagreement to pass . She did grace Charlie with an actual verbal response though. "I guess we'll just have to see now won't we." With that said, she followed his suite and joined the junior dark crusader in launching herself off her perch and swinging to the other side of Claremont's security fence. Landing safety, Olivia stealthily followed their quarry as they made their way. While fairly certain that she hadn't caught the attention of Shield and his band of sycophant, the young hero also couldn't make out what they were saying to each other either.
  11. Using Grapple Gun from Gadgets Power to make it over the fence without tripping any sensors. Arrow will use Skill Mastery instead of rolling for Stealth, which means she has a 20. Got a 16 on the Notice check. Oh well. IC post will be forthcoming.
  12. Ultra Girl Courtney was flying high above Emerald City in her Ultra Girl costume when a strange feeling came over her. She had just finished up guiding a family of hopelessly lost tourists make their way to Jadetown, and before that she had helped a young girl in Bethlehem Heights find her missing dog. Besides a brief mix-up with a very repentant after-the-fact mugger, her patrol had been pretty quiet. Even so, the still heroine felt apprehensive, which was an altogether unusual emotion for her. And wouldn't it be? No matter how hard Courtney tried to ignore it, she was an android. Artificial intelligences like her didn't get scopaesthesia, at least not in the same way that 'real' humans did. All the same, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. Though the more logical part of her positronic brain calculated that she was acting irrationally, whatever passed as humanity in her mechanical mind felt compelled to do a search even while she was skybound. With that in mind, Courtney turned on her electro-sensors and tried to see if anyone was spying on her.
  13. Turning on Electro Vision with Ultra Girl's Variable Power so she can make out any distinct electro-magnetic radio signals along with her normal Extended Visual and Auditory senses to see if anything weird is going on. She's Taking 20, so that's a 28 Notice check.
  14. Move Action: Going to move from the southern-most container to the eastern-most container. Got a 13 Stealth Check if that's necessary. Standard Action: Attacking the Big Guy by the elevator with a Standard Arrow. That's another 16 on the Attack and another DC 20 vs. Toughness. Not exactly digging those rolls, but I'll stick with them.

Just as Olivia was enjoying the rush of satisfaction that came from a successfully hit, a wave of utter panic suddenly took its place. Feelings of failure and parental disappointment and disgust invaded her mind like an arrow to the brain and for a second it was too much. Until it wasn't. She was Olivia Elizabeth Lord. Some loser goon leading a circus of low-lives could not and would not scare her. With her head cleared, Olivia reached for another arrow from her quiver and eagerly plotted out who was going to get to the face. She would have greatly preferred for said target to be the nitwit who had the audacity to try and mess with her head, but the various containers blocking her way made the shot impossible given where she currently was. She'd have to move around them and the various smoke-blind tools that were looking for her in the dark before she could the give wannabe terror a piece of her mind. Until then, she contend herself with dealing with the tall brute that somehow managed to avoid Nevermore's snare. Given just how big he was, Arrow pegged him as an easy target, a fact that she totally intended on holding over Nevermore's head once this was all despite her own mistakes tonight. With but a pull of her right arm and well-timed release she sent another bolt flying through the smoke-lidden air.
  16. In her black and pink Arrow bodysuit, Olivia had been monitoring Shields and his brood of idiot groupies with the help of her super-shades, a rather useful piece of eye-wear that greatly enhanced her already sublime vision while at the same time being a rather chic accessory. With them she saw said group of fools walk right past one of Claremont's guards as if they were going on a field trip to the Claremont Zoo. Chances were that Shields used his powers to get through the door, but the fact that a Claremont guard was weak-willed enough to let that happen gave the teen archer some second-hand embarrassment. Sighing in disapproval at the sight, she took off the shades and openly ruminated on the matter. "How Summers allows the security here to be so subpar is beyond me. It's no wonder this place was attacked by evil Christmas elves if weaklings like that are allowed to work here." With her totally-not-kvetching done, Olivia looked Charlie's way. "Whatever. I suppose the upshot is that this makes getting past them a trifle, though, I was hoping for something that approached a challenged." She sighed again, but became more serious as she went on. "Hopefully Summers will wise-up and sack the lackluster security here. Speaking of which," she pointed to one of Claremont's many cameras. "I doubt even Shields would be stupid enough to leave the cameras running while he made his sojourn into the city. Methinks Dugan used her powers to nullify them somehow, which means we can probably sneak past them as move out." Her gaze shifted to Charlie's assembled rabble with a skeptical look. "Think you kids can keep up with us? Or will Charlie and I have to play babysitter?"

  18. No Action: Activating Fashionable Night Shades on the Gadgets power. Arrow can now see in the dark! Move Action: Going to move from current location to behind one of the southern-most container to lose her spotters. Got a 20 Stealth Check. Free Action: Swapping from Bow Strike back to Standard Arrows on the Trick Arrows Array. Standard Action: Peeking from the container and attacking the southwest dude by the elevator with a Standard Arrow. Got a 16 on the Attack. That's a DC 20 vs. Toughness.

Arrow's grip on her bow tightened slightly as realized she made been made by the thugs. That was the extent of her frustration on the surface though. Instead of dwelling on it, she fell back on her training and started to move out to shake off her spotters. Using Nevermore's smokescreen as cover, she ran towards one of the nearby containers and ducked behind it. Not planning on staying out of the fight for more than she needed to, she peeked out from the container and looked for a worthy target. Through the darkness she spied the crook that tried to get a shot off of her. Retrieving one of her "standard arrows from her quiver, she notched the arrow, and pulled back the bowstring. With only the slightest audible sound of a thwish, the arrow was launched into the air in a rush. Halfway towards its target the arrowhead of the bolt burst and expanded into a boxing glove. Olivia always though the idea of a boxing glove arrow to be utterly ridiculous, but Bowman vouched for it, and if it worked it worked.
  20. Olivia took note of the others as they joined their little gathering, doing so with barely concealed disappointment. It was just as she feared. Instead of bringing in people of decent reputation or a legacy like Veronica Danger or the Katastroff, Charlie brought some freshmen randos with nothing to their names. It was typical really, but the It Girl didn't complain. It was unbecoming of a Lord for one and two there was always the off-chance the three might surprise her with their competence, though she doubted it. When Charlie actually got the meeting started, Olivia rolled her eyes at his backhanded dig, but piqued up when he mentioned the nightly activities of Sebastian's group. The possibility of that moron Sebastian being able to find action every time he hit Freedom City's less than glamorous neighborhoods was laughably slim. Even Bowman and herself sometimes ended up on a patrol with nothing to do but shot at distant billboards. Something was afoot here and Olivia said as much to Charlie and his merry band of misfits. "Sebastian Shields is a clod with the charm of a bloated tick high on A Negative and the intellect to match. Improbable doesn't even begin to describe the chances of him and his groupies' actually being able to track down crime let alone survive it," she mocked drily, still incredulous that Sebastian even had the nerve to break Summers' curfew. Olivia was on the verge of leaving the library right then, seeing this whole thing as a lark at best and waste of her time at worst but then she remembered a bit more about Sebastian's powers. She went into detective mood. "Shields is a psychic, no? Well, if was incompetent poser desperate for attention who also happened to have mind control powers than maybe I'd use what few gifts I do have to make some trouble in lieu of actually having to find it." Olivia shrugged causally. "It's just a theory, but the only way we'd be able to find out for sure is if we catch him in the act, so..." The rich teen sighed as she realized she was earnestly interested now. "I guess that means I'm in."
  21. This Sebastian Shields guy seems like a dude that one of helluva of a reputation. Maybe Arrow knows a bit more about him through the social grapevine? I'm going to roll Gather Information to see if she knows anything about him. She has Well-Informed so its an immediate reaction. Gather Information Check: 14.
  22. Arrow IV Bow-for-brains? Really? Olivia couldn't help but roll her eyes as she read the Nevermore's text. This was so beneath her it was almost laughable. Sure, she had worked with Charlie, and sure he wasn't entirely unskilled, but that hardly meant that she was now his lapdog coming to his aid whenever he called. The fact that he somehow got a hold of her number also bugged her. Olivia pegged the blame on her mentor being overly helpful but she didn't rule out the possibility that Forever-dull used some tech-wizardry to get it. If it was the latter case the debutante had all sorts of terrible reprisals in mind for the intrusion but she filed that issue for later. Right now she was still weighting her options. The teen hero liked to think of herself an excellent detective but she didn't have to be Enola Holmes to know that the 'self-righteous prick' Charlie was talking about was almost certainly Sebastian Shields. Who else could it be? The pigheaded idiot had the subtly of an ox on PCP and the ego of a third world dictator. Olivia certainly wasn't a fan of the man or his pretensions even before his eye-rolling showcase of his so-called superteam, but that didn't mean she was particularly motivated to take him down a peg. Then again it wasn't as if she had anything particularly compelling to do right now. Currently she was suffering the presence and idle chatter of two hangers-on that she had managed to recruit into her Claremont posse. They were boring as all Hell and constantly asked questions about her family and money but they also did whatever she said so she tolerated them as much as she was able. Even still, if the choice was between cutting down Sebastian Shields and answering another inane question about one of her Porsches... Olivia sighed as she pocketed her phone and got up from the table. Without so much as a sideway glance to her two companions she made up some excuse for her leaving and promptly made her way to the library. The uptown teen was above this sort of thing, sure, but she wasn't immunity to boredom either. She arrived at the library relatively quickly but not before making a stop at her dorm room. While she didn't bother to bring along her costume she did bring along her bow, quiver and utility belt and had them primed and ready for whatever hopefully interesting nonsense Charlie had in mind. "Well, loser," she quipped with her trademark sardonicism and Mid-Atlantic accent. "I have arrived and made your day just a little more exquisite. I hope you plan on returning the favor by having something interesting for me to do."
