  1. Courtney was beginning to regret not taking the high road when it came to her choice to antagonizing the Ultio-in-Red. Her last blast felt like a warm breeze compared to the last few and her chassis had not taken it well at all. The repair systems she had activated and gone into overdrive trying to fix what was broken but they were having a tad bit of trouble on account of the Ultio's not exactly giving them time to really mend much. All in all, this fight was not going her way. Fortunately, she wasn't alone in this. Even though the servos in her neck weren't anymore good shape as the rest of her, Ultra Girl managed turned to Justice down below. "I think... I think I need a little help up here."
  2. Toughness vs. Ultio Red Blast: 15. Not a fan of that. It's not possible to make the save but let's see if we can dull the hurt a little with another Luck expenditure. Got a 11! Which is awful but with Luck it becomes a 21. Also awful but slightly less so. Unless I'm mistaken Ultra Girl is now Staggered and Dazed, so that's no actions from me.
  3. Move Action: Gonna try to Taunt Stinger. Got 30 on the Bluff roll. It's a 26 if Stinger isn't affected by Attractive. Standard Action: Attacking Stinger with Standard Arrows. Got a 31. That's a nat 20 and a crit. Stinger has to make a 25 Toughness Save. Some pretty solid rolls! (Praises RNG!)
  4. Arrow broke into a smile that nearly bordered on villainous as Charlie gave out his order. "Oh I can certainly do that. Don't you worry." Normally she wouldn't be too keen on the idea of taking orders from anyone who wasn't Bowman but Charlie's call looked to be the most tactical in the moment. Or maybe her close call with Stinger had just made her a little bit more willing to actually trust this whole team idea. Regardless, she relished the idea of finally getting some sweet payback on the cowgirl and unashamedly said as much to a constrained Stinger. "Well its been fun toying with but I think its time you went into sunset with the set of your little posse of losers. Ta-ta, Lady Yokel." Before Stinger could so much reply, Arrow had already pulled her bowstring and sent a boxing-glove straight to her face.
  5. Astrid raised a curious eye-brow as Elena asked her first question. "Oh yeah, it's pretty normal to see a bunch of new people when you go these sort of things. I've been here for three years and just met Ryder over here," she told her while lobing a thumb Ryder's way. Elena seemed pretty new. As in new to this planet new. Astrid wondered whether she was an alien or perhaps from another dimension or something. Several years at Claremont made either possibility come across as not only quite possible but also totally normal. When it came Elena's second question Astrid hesitated, if only for a second. She usually didn't go out of her way to explain her powers because they were, well, kind of out there even for Claremont. Still, Elena seemed pretty chill and Astrid figured it wouldn't hurt to tell her a little about her weird family issues. Or at least she would have if the tall girl hadn't taken a moment to chat with Benny... Only for Ryder to straight up ask the same question and then some. "Damn, am I that obvious," Astrid asked sarcastically, giving Ryder a sly grin as she did. "Yeah, heavy metal is my thing. Listening and playing. I'm mostly into viking metal but I kind have a soft spot for the riot grrrl stuff you Americans came up with. Both got this wild energy you know?" She told him nonchalantly before also admitting, "As for my powers. Well, my dad's a god. Thor to be specific. That's why I'm pretty strong and hardy. It's not that big of deal." She shrugged causally and hoped that she didn't sound to defensive about that last part. Not really wanting to go any further on that issue she quickly turned back around on Ryder. "But what about you? Your smart enough to work with Eira and make cute little robot bugs. You got some juiced-up super armour under that kickass blazer or are you more a cool gadgets kind of super-genius?"
  6. Astrid kind of wanted to give herself a pat on the back for pegging Ryder as a science guy. Even without the Eira connection, the dude seemed like someone who got his kicks in a lab and did so in a way that was probably pretty cool to witness. Not for the first time Astrid internally asked the gods why more of the science teachers at Claremont couldn’t be as interesting or engaging as their pupils. She was actually on the verge of telling him just that when that errant thought got totally sidelined by a random robo-bug that seemed to suddenly pop into view on the snack table. Just like with Danica and the other girl that had made her way to the snack table, Astrid couldn’t help but want squee a little as she saw the bug do its little antics. Of course, even with that being the case, that didn’t mean she was going to abandon what few manners she had. Rising her eyes away from the pink critter, Astrid gave her hellos to the newcomers. “Hey Danica. How you doing? Enjoying the rad party you threw?” The demigoddess gave the turtle girl an earnest smile before she turned her attention to one of few girls in Claremont who were taller than her. “Sup! You’re new here, ja? Can’t believe I would have missed you around here. Ain’t that often that I gotta look up to another girl at Claremont. Kind of refreshing really,” Astrid admitted honestly, chuckling at bit as she did. "Anyways, the name’s Astrid. What’s yours?”
  7. Despite some lingering feelings of guilt with the whole Eira situation, Astrid practically lit up when Ryder gave her his actual name. "Ryder! By Odin's eye! I was no where close on that one. My bad." She gave the boy a self-deprecating smile in apology for the mix-up before setting back into easy conversation. “Eira can be pretty high-energy at times, but she’s cool. She actually has pretty good taste in music. Still, it's weird ‘cause you'd think a robot would be more chill. Or maybe its helluva appropriate." She shrugged again, deciding to leave that great mystery to the philosophers. Wanting to bring the chat back to back to getting to know the dude she was speaking with Astrid filled her cup with punch and made a toast. “Hey, here’s to happy accidents! And to cool sisters with good taste in blazers.” After taking another swig of the punch, which went down a lot easier than the last know that she knew to lower her expectations, she started to ask Ryder a couple questions in the hope of figuring what he was into. “So, you worked with Eira before? Or at least know her by reputation. You into discovering the great scientific secrets of the universe as well?”
  8. Before Richard (or was it Richie) had time to or even bothered to respond her questions, Astrid heard someone say something barely audible in Swedish. Immediately the redhead recognized the voice but she still spun her head to see what the heck had gotten Eira in such a fit that she'd break out the heavy-duty swear words in front of everyone. When the rocker girl saw a fleeing Eira wearing the exact same outfit sans a difference of band logo, she almost burst out laughter before realizing that would likely only make things a helluva of a lot worse rather than better. As is Astrid belted out a loud apology in Swedish and hoped Eira wouldn't feel to humilated. "Förlåt!" She turned back to a hopefully not confused Richie (or was it Richard) and gave him an awkward smile. "As you can see I'm great at making friends."
  9. Ms. Thursday Astrid Torsten came to the party in her idea of casual attire: a denim skirt with some torn black leggings, a black band shirt with the logo 'Unleashed' proudly printed on it, and some chained rocker boots. It didn’t exactly fit the pink-and-white Valentine aesthetic going on, but she was more here to party than celebrate the holiday. Usually didn’t go to these kind of school functions in the first place. Mostly because they were kind of lame compared to the parties she’d become accustomed to. Punch and snacks couldn’t really compete with mead and roasted dragon in Asgard. Still, even all could get dull after a while and with this being her last year at Claremont, she figured it would nice to hang at the school’s get-togethers every once in a bit. So far she hadn’t been proven wrong. She was super tempted to just strut right up to the DJ setup and start playing some real music for everyone to thrash to but thought better of it. Not everyone was made to listen the riotous viking cacophonies that she held so dear and she didn’t want to kill the mood. So instead of doing some party-crashing she went to the snack table, if only to check out if some fool had been bold and stupid enough to swap the punch for something more boozy. Alas, after taking a swig she found herself sorely disappointed. That was until she looked over and saw a guy with the coolest blazer she had seen in a while. Never a shy sort, Astrid just went up to the dude in question and started chatting. “Hey, you’re new here, ja? Richard? Richie something?” She shrugged, fairly certainly that totally wasn’t his name. “If I messed that up you can punch me. Name’s Astrid by the way. Gotta say, your blazer is pretty rad? Where’d you get it?”
  10. Ultra Girl blinked as Ultio Red went into her rant. It was a rare thing for her systems to misplace a memory, but it did happen every once in awhile. She gave the lead Ultio a wry shrug. "Sorry about that. Guess I completely forgot about you." She hated to admit, but that felt real good to say. It almost made up for being blasted in the face and pummeled only a couple seconds ago after. Almost. Despite her chassis still not breaking it had taken such a beating that Courtney couldn't do much of anything as her systems tried to repair the damage.
  11. Toughness vs. Ultio Red Blast: 12. Oh wow, no. Let's try that one again with a Luck expenditure. 29. Much better Toughness vs Tank Ultio: 12. Also not great! Move Action: Move to get into range with Tank Ultio again. Standard Action: Punching him again with Enhanced Strength. Got a 23. DC 25 vs. Toughness as always.
  12. Ultra Girl had just finished landing another finishing blow on one of the suits and was winding herself to deliver a third when shouting from down blow caught her attention. The noise might have thrown her next punch off, but it didn't stop her smiling at the new arrival, especially once she saw one of her lasers blast a suit. "Hey, thanks for the assist! These jerks just started attacking me and-" Ultra Girl stopped midsentence as her maneuver systems suddenly compelled her to move out of the way of an approaching energy source. She dodged the laser, but just barely. She wasn't so lucky when another suit managed to come around land a physical hit while she was distracted. Despite her friend being the won to actually hit her, Courtney sighed at Ultio Red. "Guess you weren't the reasonable one after all." She knew it was a long shot to think the Ultio in red was any smarter than her compatriots, but it still hurt to see her optimism had been misplaced. Didn't stop her from going after her and her heavily-armored friend. Switching to her other sensors to see through the sudden smokescreen, she threw out to the red Ultio.
  13. Toughness Save: 32. That's a big nope on the Tank punch. Standard Action: Using Takedown Attack and using her Enhanced Strength again. First attack will be against Ultio Red. Got a 19. Second attack will being going towards Ultio Tank if Red goes down. Got a 8. Both are once again DC 25 vs. Toughness but if I think you ignore the second attack lol. Ultra Girl's Infravision should be able to see through the Normal Vision Obscure, I think. If not, I'll spend a Free action to gain Counters Obscure [Darkness] through her Variable Power.
  14. Attack #2 vs. second suit in melee: 18. Attack #3 vs. third suit in melee: 12.
  15. Arrow cracked a smirk as she shot Bluebird out of the sky with her well-made shot. After a rocky start they fight seemed to be going their way. Wanting to finish it in earnest, she assessed her remaining targets. Still estimating that Chump's absurdly tough hide wouldn't be an easy target for her even arrows, the archer decided to take another shot against her least favorite cowgirl. "Having fun being wrangled, Stinger!" Alas her boost in confidence after landing Bluebird did not make her pithy comment or her aim any better as her shot went wide and found itself buried deep within the bark of a nearby tree.
  16. Maybe my luck is turning around? Move Action: Feint on Stinger. 19 on the Bluff roll or its 14 if Stinger isn't affected by Attractive. Standard Action: Attacking Bluebird with Standard Arrows. 12. Curse you RNG! (angrily shakes fist at the heavens)
  17. Ultra Girl grimaced as she saw the Ultios come at her. The seemed far more prepared this time, apparently having gotten it in their heads that they wouldn't be able to take her down with sloppy tactics and foolhardiness. Unfortunately, that also meant that they were also way effective this time around. Despite herself, a small painful grunt escaped her lips as the suits managed to block and flank her in way that made it all the easier for them to get a few good shot on her. Not for the first time, Courtney wondered why the heck her mother saw fit to allow her to feel plan. The damage was relatively light but it still wasn't a fun stress test for chassis. It was definitely something she had no desire to see repeated. With that in my mind, the android unleashed a torrent of nanites within her internal systems that boosted the strength of her carbon muscles and promptly started to go to work, first taking a mighty swing at the first suit that was in reach.
  18. Toughness Save #1 vs. Attack 27: 20. Fail. Toughness Save #2 vs. Attack 16: 19. Also Fail. Toughness Save #3 vs. Attack 16: 19. Triple Fail. Not great, but terrible either. Don't plan on using any Luck to re-roll those. Ultra Girl can attack the Bruises! For now... Standard Action: Attacking the closest Ultio-Suit with her Enhanced Strength on her Weapons Systems Array. She'll also try to get the other two in melee with her with her Takedown Attack if the first one goes down. Got a 20 on the Attack. That's a DC 25 vs. Toughness.
  19. Looks like a fight is happening whether I want one or not! He's an initiative check if required: 15
  20. "Know your type? You don't know me at all! And MarsTech is totally..." She stopped and shook her head despairingly. They weren't going to listen anymore than the last group of Ultio-Suits did. She was beginning to wonder if MarsTech went out of its way to hire only the most twitchy and intolerant jerks it could find. Her sensors spotted at least eight of them around, most which were still on the ground staring daggers at her. The only one that wasn't was a Ultio-Suit in red that looked to be holding back to the side. Maybe she was more reasonable than the others? Or maybe she was just waiting for an opportunity to strike while she was distracted. Courtney really hoped it was the former than the latter, but either way she got ready for a fight. "I didn't want to do this last time and I still don't know, but if your not going to be smart and back off than," her optics suddenly shifted from bright blue to scorching red, "I guess I'm just going to have to do this worse way."
  21. The moment Arrow saw Bluebird violently thrust out her hand out she knew it wasn't a sigh of good things to come. It was a close thing, but she managed to dodge the telekinetic attack by deftly shifting to the side. Not wanting to miss a beat, she got another arrow and tried to send it flying towards a still scattered looking Bluebird. "You sure about that, Cassie? Seems to me that their whole lot of witnesses to you and your friends being colossal idiots."
  22. Let's try this again, eh. Move Action: Feint on Bluebird. Going to roll it this time around. Got a 15 on the Bluff. Standard Action: Attacking Bluebird with Standard Arrows again. Got a 13 on the Attack. Oh dear. DC 20 vs. Toughness. Though I doubt that hits. Edit: Per convo with Rocket, I'll be re-rolling Arrow's Attack. 30! And it looks like dice gods have decided to be kind. That's a crit, meaning the DC just went up to DC 25 vs. Toughness.
