  2. Harlequin Power Level: 12 (180/180PP) Built as PL8 Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: +4 Defense / -4 Toughness In Brief: Prince of Ogres and Goblins fated to nobility and heroism. Catchphrase: “Might I have your name?” Theme: Born to be a Killer - Chase Noseworthy Alternate Identity: Alden Underwood (Human Name, Secret), Eòghann Soillearsgian, Prince of the Shadowed Places (True Name, Secret) Birthplace: Kingdom of Goblins and Ogres, Avalon Residence: Claremont Base of Operations: Freedom City Occupation: Student, Prince Affiliations: Claremont Academy, Ogres and Goblins, Unseelie Fae, Aes Sídhe Family: Muireadhach the Goblin King, Mòrag the Ogre Queen, Cathán the Unseelie (Secret) Description: Age: 16 (DOB: 1 November 2008) Ethnicity: Fey (Natural Form) / Caucasian (Human Form) Height: 5’5” Weight: 113lbs Eyes: Yellow (Natural Form) / Green (Human Form) Hair: Blonde Eòghann has a thin, lithe figure, possessed of grace beyond the normal for humanity, even when he's disguised as a human the perceptive can see it, his movements are too smooth and any accidents seem planned to be only the most minor and harmless. In both his normal human disguise and his natural form his face is elfin and beautiful, his combined heritage softening the sharp features of his goblin father and thinning the more bulbous features of his ogre mother to produce a face that bears graceful, gently curved lines. In both forms he possesses flowing golden locks that if straightened the tips would reach his shoulders, but instead creates loose curls around his face and ears instead. Below elegantly arched eyebrows his eyes are bright and focused, mischief dancing within them when he relaxes, a golden yellow when in his natural form and bright green when disguised. In his natural form his skin is a dusky green-blue hue, his teeth pointed and sharp, and his ears are long and pointed, both of which are hidden beneath lightly tanned and freckled skin and human teeth and ears. His clothes tend to reach the Romantic Era and be no more modern, given to ruffles and other trappings of the era. When going out as a hero he wears a harlequin costume and masquerade mask, painting what of his skin is visible white, or using his illusions to the same effect if he does not have time to apply the paint normally. History: Eòghann's parents are powerful rulers in the lands of Faerie, the King of Goblins and Queen of the Ogres each rule their fearful throng. But both wanted more, and harbored a great affection for the other. So motivated they arranged to be wed, so that their peoples may be joined and their might combined. There was but one foible. They were without child. No matter how the royal couple tried, an heir eluded them, and as the other fruits of their union grew, they became ever more desperate to secure their legacy, and their rising station amongst the Unseelie Courts. So driven they invoked the True Name of Cathán, a mighty knight of the Aes Sídhe, binding him to weave his magics to allow them to sire a child. Cathán was incensed at the invocation of his Name, but nonetheless intrigued at the audacious request and so he bestowed three blessings and one curse upon the child, unbeknownst to the King and Queen. The babe would be powerful, beautiful and share in his own blood, his own secret heir. But he would also possess a nobility of spirit that would never be quenched. Eòghann was born on the morn of Samhain, and from the moment of his birth could never understand what might be wrong with him. He took the lessons in stride, learning from the mightiest Ogre Mages and the most devious Redcaps and exceeding in his studies far beyond his years. But his heart was never settled, and he could never bring himself to fully embrace the darker teachings, the thieving of names and infants, the slaughtering of livestock and laying of traps. Still he did his damnedest to meet the expectations of his parents and tutors, while sneaking out during his free time to undo the damage caused as best he could. This charade has continued until his sixteenth year. His parents had their most devious plan yet. Their son would infiltrate the world of Men beyond Avalon, and ensnare the latest generation of their great heroes in Fae schemes, and graduate with new champions in his thrall! Personality & Motivation: Eòghann is gregarious and enjoys having company, having not been around many peers growing up. He is still muddling through the mess of expectations that his parents, tutors and culture laid upon him prior to leaving for the human world, and how they interact with his own morals and knowledge, leading to uncertainties and insecurities which he covers with mischief and bravado. At his heart Eòghann wishes for everyone to get a happy ending, be they man, ogre or goblin, which is at the core of his crisis: How can he make everyone happy? Powers & Tactics: Eòghann is an accomplished mage for his age, able to disguise himself as both people and animals, cast illusions, make plants grow wild and strong and conjure weapons made of shadows, immaterial blades which attack the very soul for as long as they remain embedded within the foe. The spell he is most proud of is his ability to shield others from harm, a shield of light and silver in the shape of a Harlequin mask springing up between them and whatever would do them harm, an ability he developed while trying to undo the damage his lessons caused. In addition, Eòghann is practiced in the art of stealing names, able to through a mix of guile and magic weasel past the defenses of the wary to claim their names, which he can then use to work more insidious magics upon them, able to confuse and control the mind but here too he has found a way to twist the magic to help others, able to grant others access to his magical techniques although it is a very tiring practice. Finally he is able to channel his magics to disguise himself, teleport, burrow and regenerate. In addition he can comprehend any language spoken or written and speak to anyone. Complications: Thy Truest Name Invoking Eòghann's True Name grants one power over him, allowing the individual to control the young Prince. Anyone who knows Eòghann's full True Name can command him as though via Mind Control with ranks equal to their Power Level or his, whichever is greater. Under Revealing Light The light of the full moon and similar phenomena dispel falsehoods, rendering many of Eòghann's magics ineffective. Under the light of the full moon, or after being affected by a power with the Light descriptor as well as the Blessed/Celestial/Holy and/or Silver descriptors, Eòghann's Shapeshifting, Illusion, and Glamour powers are nullified. I Bar Thee from Entry A location warded with charms of Iron, Rowan, or a line of Salt around the entrance is barred to Eòghann. Eòghann is unable to willingly enter a location warded with Iron, Rowan or Salt. The Tongue of Thine Birth Eòghann’s magic allows him to understand and be understood by anyone, but this could also help reveal his secrets. Eòghann always speaks in listeners native language, this can raise suspicion if there's no way for him to have known the listeners native tongue, doubly so if there's no reasonable explanation for how he knows it. Prince of the Unseelie Eòghann may have worked to repair the damage he caused under his tutor’s guidance and his parent’s expectations but he did so under disguise, and so those who see his true form will see only the dark prince. When not disguised, Eòghann may be recognized by witnesses, who may respond to the prince negatively. 3. GM The Annihlist managed to shake off the mental blast, briefly glancing over towards Iris before focusing her gaze back on Bernadette. The tall woman rushed toward the redhead, swinging her sword as she closed. The broad form of Bruiser suddenly stepped into the Annihlist's path, blocking her from reaching Bernadette. Martinet's glowing sword slashed across the hulking man’s chest, sending a small spray of blood as it cut him and sent him falling back to the ground, dazed and injured from the attack. The Annihilist brought her sword back into a ready position as she refocused back on Bernadette, waiting to see what the redhead did in response.
  4. Okay, Martinet will move to attack Bernadette, with Bruiser interposing. She hits with a 23, so a DC 28 toughness save for Bruiser: he gets a 23 so is bruised, injured and dazed. @Tiffany Korta Starshine's turn!
  5. Cerebral "Bernadette!!" Iris cried out, despite all this chaos around her, she would witness the other losing her clone and the pain it seemed to shoot through her. This older girl was the first actual friend both Iris and Daniel had made in the school...arguably the first they had made in Freedom City. Because of this protective rage flowed through her veins. She would pop out from behind her cover and point towards the tall woman that had done the dreaded deed, and extremely faint bolts shot from her forehead and towards the villainess'. She would be able to feel something trying to harm her mind but she pushes through it unharmed. Upon Iris realising this, she clutches the pike she stole close to her before running and ducking behind a destoryed car.
  6. Yeah, no effect. Go ahead with your IC post.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Damn, then I don't think it has any effect, so Iris is going to duck back down behind some cover.
  9. Cerebral and Cerebellum A lot had happened over these past few months. The twins had settled in quite well all things considered. They might not have been here for the full year but it definitely felt like it, and while they might not have gotten to know a lot of the seniors that well, bar a few, they would still miss their seniors. Knowing this and the reason for the arcade meet up even the introverted Iris was willing to go...without her brother having to convince her. So here they were entering the building, both wore casual outfits, matching this time, jeans and a comfy purple t-shirt for them both. Thankfully they were able to spot Michael and Sam already and made their way over. "First to arrive I see?" Daniel stated with a wide grin as he eyed the game Sam was playing Street Fighter VI. While Iris waited at the side for her friends to finish their games, Daniel would indeed challenge Sam, he was a bit of a fighting game noob, but he was willing to try with his Ryu!
  10. She just makes her Will save with a 23
  11. Alright then it's 27 As for Iris' turn, she for sure is going to set her forcefield up, just going to say it so I don't confuse myself later on, once that is up, she's goint to just Mind Blast Martinet. No mercy after what she did to Bernadette. So that's a DC 23 Will save for her.
  12. Alright so. Iris will take the 10 and she gets a 34 grapple with her telekinesis As for Daniel to hit with his own telekinesis I rolled a 16 If that hits, then the grapple is 27 Should Daniel miss that's fine, Iris is going to throw the drone at him anyway when she can.
  13. I say go with the forcefield up, there has been a lot of fighting, so makes sense it is up.
  14. Daniel Toughness save (with Forcefield) = 27 Without Forcefield that'd go down to 20 I don't know how you are going to rule this since I never mentioned them putting up their forcefields, but it's kinda something they would do, so I'm willing to take either of those.
  15. Thanks! I just think this outcome fit tbh
  16. Cerebral and Cerebellum General Sparks was hammy, extremely silly at times...but he was still a massive threat and this just proved it. Unlike Michael, who seemed to be handling himself just fine, the twins were not, the combination of rain and lighting did not help and Iris was struck dead on by a lighting bolt! "GAHHHHH~!" She screamed out as the water made the damage even worse...then she felt her conciousness slip, the telekinetic energy keeping her flying is shut off and she starts to fall quickly towards the ground! Daniel wasted no time, he too was burned and injured by the bolt of lighting but he was still hanging on. "IRIS!" He cried out and immdeately abandoned Michael and shot down to catch his sister with his own telekinesis.
  17. Thats fine - post that And its probably worth an HP for getting knocked out and heroically catching! Leaving you with 4 HP!
  18. Wait, Iris is knocked out...while flying? Yeah she's falling now, so I know what Daniel is going to do.
  19. Poncho

    Digital Hex

The lightning bolts came down hard on Michael, but he was in the zone at this point! He was really feeling it, on cloud nine after all these struggles, at the runner's high portion of the event! Even the bolts that did hit him through the shower bounced off him and left him completely unharmed. He felt like he could take on the entire world. "Your power's all washed up, General Sparks! You might be the biggest cheese, but I'm the grill, and we're gonna turn you into grilled cheese! And we're GAS powered, not electric!" leaving aside that gas grills were actually older than electric ones but whatever. "So get ready for some grill marks! We're taking you out!" He declared as he swooped down to the thinnest point of the wobbly, wibbly tower, and slammed into it with his shoulder like a burst of solar light, making a great big echoing BOOM as he smacked into it! It wobbled more, but stayed steady, but he was prepared to hit it again when he could swing back around.
  20. alright! Let me see! And we talked about a DC25 Strength check to knock over the tower so let me roll that. Strength Check Results 1d20+15: 19 [1d20=4] Negative! IC post coming in
  21. "Bolas could be interesting...It'd help lock people up. I've been working on that a bit myself; ranged options, not bolas necessarily. Like...laser beams or something." He said, smiling. "I could see you cutting an inspiring figure, wrapping up goons in bolas and being like 'No one can escape my claws!' or something like that." He didn't want to talk heroing, but he did love talking up Carmen, so for that at least, he was very pro talking about how cool Carmen was. But he didn't at all mind switching to something else and sighing happily as he finished his sandwich and wiped his own mouth to lean back against the pillar, and partially onto her. He was quite comfortable at this point. "That would be great, then. We'll bring you along, introduce you to my parents. Everything will go a-okay. Just a nice, relaxing vacation, I think." he said. "Then after that you'll be a senior...almost ready to go on to the rest of your life. Won't that be interesting." He thought about it for a bit. "Well, I'm sure no matter how it goes, it'll be good for you and you'll excel." he nodded. "...I should go to church with you on Sunday. I know I usually go with my Mom, but still, it'd be appropriate, I think."
  22. @Kaede Kimura Okay, Blue Bolt is up. Let me know if you have any questions on things.
  23. GM The green beams from Baz's eyes strike one of the large drones that had hit him, sending it tumbling backward to lie motionless on the ground. Lawrence took a moment to glance around him, his eyes again overflowing with blue cosmic energy as he began to focus his powers once again. Clenching his fists, the blond teen then thrust his arms out to his sides, opening his hands as he did so. A burst of temporal energy rippled out from the teen, again washing harmlessly over his friends and allies, while striking all the Communion drones in the park and well beyond. A massive temporal bubble erupted in the heart of City Center, as dozens of the Communion drones were returned to their original form. Lor, Grue and members of more than a dozen other alien races were suddenly standing in the area, momentarily confused at where they found themselves. In the air, more than two dozen of the small, fast insect like drones also returned to their original form, buzzing about in initial confusion as well. Across the park, another four of the Praetorians were returned to their original form as well, looking about in confusion as they quickly took in the scene around them. However, five of the Praetorians still remained in their silver, Computronium form.
  24. Okay, time for Lawrence to burn some more HP. He will stunt the following power: Transform 10 (3 pt per rank (Communion drone to original state); Extras: Permanent (+2), Targeted Burst Area (50ft up to 1250ft), Selective, Alt Save: Will (0); Flaws: Distracting, Full Round action; Feats: Accurate, Progression 4 (x25 area burst); Indirect 3) [58/58] He will take the +3 Inspire from Michael and power attack (-2/+2) for +12 effect with +7 to hit. 16 on the attack roll, so will use a HP to reroll: 24 So, that will trigger a lot of DC 22 Will Saves. First the large groups: Normal Drones (will say it catches about 60 within its area): Only about 18 make their saves: Insect Drones (say about 30 in the area): Only 5 make the save: Large alien drones (will say there are 10): 1 makes the save: Now the drone Praetorians: Traveller: 18 Elite: 10 Dragonid: 25 Moon-Moth: 24 Barrier: 9 Magnetar: 18 Kharg: 25 Spectra: 25 Seresk: 23
  25. Ok sorry for delay Iiris has ff up so her Toughness save is increased to 12 which is still a fail by 15, so she is knocked out (unless you reroll with an HP) Daniel foes much better, passing his reflex roll and thus reducing tough save to DC 22. With forcefield up, thats a tough save of 11 which is bruised and dazed. Golden Star shrugs off the electricity Can @Ponchoand @Dracosternmake IC posts and (if you wish, Draco, reroll Iiris toughness). You can also post IC and OC your responses.
  26. Gamma Buzz "Gee! Carried away like a baby!" said Gamma Buzz. "I mean, I have only slightly completely dislocated my leg, its nothing, honestly. I can probably walk just fine on one leg." Baltazar grasped his dislocated hip in agony. "And it's not at all painfull. I'm not wincing, lets be clear. I just thought this was a great time to fit in my daily face-muscle exercises. And i'm not crying with pain, either. All this movement, I just got a bit of dust in my eye...." He wiped away his glowing green tears. "And screw these monsters, anyhow. They need a taste of... GAMMA VISION!" With a frown of anger, he screwed up his eyes (more) and unleashed a furious pain of glowing green laser beams directly at the nearest drone!
  27. Of course! I'm guessing he might need an Acrobatics check, to maneuver close enough. He's got no ranks in that, but I'll use one of his 7 HP to use Beginner's Luck to gain a 'phantom' 5 ranks. 1d20+6: 17 [1d20=11] Knowledge (Behavioral Sciences) 1d20+16: 20 [1d20=4] I can do better. Using an HP (down to 5 now) to re-roll. 1d20+16: 19 [1d20=3]+10 = 29 (I figure there may be some penalties for working with non-human intelligences.) Knowledge (Galactic Lore) 1d20+16: 31 [1d20=15] Knowledge (Life Sciences) 1d20+24: 33 [1d20=9] Oh, why not -- another HP re-roll. (Down to 4 HP now.) 1d20+24: 30 [1d20=6]+10 = 40 (Again, figuring on some penalites for dealing with non-terrestrial life forms.) I'm guessing a Sense Motive check could be useful 1d20+9: 26 [1d20=17]
