So this is not excluding other characters, and I've tacitly gotten two in the fray for this.

 

But the overview is thus:

 

Something comes, seeking new supplicants/apprentices/whatevs.  Most importantly it would seek out those with a magical aptitude for this.  And send an agent to secure the prizes.

 

I admit there is a bit of a horror bent, with the things being of the Fae/Other variety, and a little alien.

 

There will be  combat and mystery and all of that.
