  1. Alpha 1, same strike as before: 1d20+11=19 eh, that roll sucked. HP to re-roll: 1d20+11=25 Does that hit him? I still don't know how to calculate the mighty and all that :-/ I should ask someone to help me with that to better use the power.
  2. One of the Vines pointed to the bales of hay. "We're working from the outside in. We can get these set up, I can get the corn maze going. Some of the plants are readying to move so we can put a dance area inside." Gwen lugged some of the pouches of seeds over to a roped off area and began laying out rows of cornseeds. "So, whats been going on?" Gwen had several vines extended, some were opening trails in the soil, others dropping seeds and still others covering the soil and adding water with cans that looked small and dainty in the Vines grip.
  3. Gwen's Vines recoiled from the pain, they retracted into Gwen's body and she cringed. She watched the Robots emerge and a panicked look crossed her face. Not good! Gwen watched the rockets go wide around Brian and she gasped with relief. On reflex her vines shot out and went for the first robot. They fell short of their target, still short from their cutting. "Crap, Crap, CRAP" Gwen belted out.
  4. boinking robots... Gwen can't to much to robots! 1d20+11=20 to attack robot one with Base Power: Strike 5 (Extras: Autofire [10], Penetrating [5, DMG 15], Feats: Mighty)
  5. We move? The Vines, being young and impressionable were unsure if the women were lying. No, stay ready! Gwen looked around and ended on Catalyst. "I'm not budging until I get some answers about the garden." Gwen put her hands on her hips and looked back at the two women. "So start talking."
  6. Gwen smiled as the stick bounced off her head. "Bad idea!" Gwen smiled and a group of vines lashed out and strung up the man. "You've gone and made them mad!" Gwen pulled him up with the Vines and his limp form sagged. We break him? the Vines sounded sad and Gwen cast a look at Brian. "Is it just me or..." Gwen trailed off as she could feel the larger man renew his struggles.
  7. 1d20+13=23 Bah, so he's free!
  8. 1d20+11=26 to hit mr crumpled on the floor 1d20+13=17 to grapple him,
  9. 1d20+10=27 Gwen saves, she's gotten rather bad ass with her barkness.
  10. Gwen moved closer to the pair, Vines inching out from her bark covered form. She gracefully covered the distance and came up close to Brian. Shake him up a little, and squeeze. Gwen watched as the Vines shot out and easily wrapped around the larger man. She smirked, a rather odd look on her new tree like face. "I'm sorry, you were saying?"
  11. 1d20+10=27 roll to hit smash 1d20+23=31 to grapple him.
  12. 1d20+11=18 init roll for Gwen
  13. Gwen dashed down the same alley. She began to change but when a note struck her. She made a sour face. This was NOT the way she wanted Brian to find this out but circumstances and all. Gwen looked down the alley, then back down at herself. Her rough brown bark covered skin solved one problem. Gwen no longer needed to carry around a costume. While she retained a mostly human form there was little anatomical correctness other than her curves. However to be save a vine snaked its way around her chest area wrapping it up and down across her stomach to cover lower areas. She emerged from the alley looking like a fire topped tree spirit.
  14. Gwen blushed. "What can I say? I think every white bread american girl has a thing for that accent." Gwen smirked and twirled around, her dress fanning out around her small body. "Maybe it's a bit of the Stockholm syndrome thing." she shrugged and looked up at Brian for a long moment. "I-- I have my own thing that we need to talk about-- but I think it's best that we head back to the Greenhouse." Gwen interlaced her fingers with Brian's and stopped to kiss him.
  15. Gwen came through the doorway just in time to see Catalyst immobilize the steel woman. Gwen laid some vines out at her feet just to be safe. She glanced around the room and then back at Catalyst. "It would be a good idea to listen to my friend." Gwen clenched her fists and held the Vines at the ready. She was unsure of what to do next, having no experience on this front.
  16. Gwen reached across the table and grabbed up Brian's hand. She made her face very hard to keep it straight. "So this one little thing makes you less of a hero? It lessens everything you've worked towards in your life?" Gwen squeezed Brian's hand, hard. "Entropy is THE natural course of life. There can BE no life without death, without change. What goes up must come down and all that." Gwen stared at Brian hard and took a deep breath.
  17. Gwen listened and when Brian was finished paused for only a brief moment. Raising her cup she took a sip of her coconut milkshake. She thought over what to say next, knowing that her reply could impact everything to come. "Does it change anything?" Gwen spread her napkin out on her lap. "Does it change how you feel? How you want to live you life? Does it make less anything you have done, or will do?"
  18. It's social, and I've had 7-8 people in social threads so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll be getting it up in the next few days.
  19. October 15th 2011 Noon, Claremont Campus-Greenhouse It was a wonderful fall day. Breeze blowing around some of the leaves that had chosen to jump shift early. The colors of the trees around the greenhouse were wonderful oranges, yellows and reds. Gwen stood there with a large box of Halloween/Fall decorations looking around at the area. A large pile of haybales had been delivered and sat on a tarp. Gwen put down the box and began to move some of the bales around the entrance of the greenhouse. She planned to have this place looking spiffy and seasonal, eventually hosting the October theme party here outside the greenhouse. After a dozen bales Gwen looked around for Vicky, she was supposed to be here soon. Even after Gwen stopped the Vines continued to move bales around, making the path Gwen had shared with them. Another couple of Vines had wandered off to rummage the box. SEEDS! they emerged with a large green sack and began to move farther away pulling Gwen with them. We plant seeds, you make grow!" They were excited about the cornmaze Gwen had told them about.
  20. "Almost everyone speaks Spanish now, maybe French, or we could learn a whole new language together?" Gwen ran through a list in her head thinking of other languages she might want to pick up and filed the idea away. She looked down at her sausage and polenta. She took a fork and knife and began cutting the sausage up. "In your note you mentioned that there were things you wanted to speak about it." Gwen began to eat gently, recalling proper dining etiquette as she did.
  21. "On both sides everyone is kind of busy. They're a lot of professors, politicians... everyone's pretty busy..." another note of sadness filled Gwen's voice. "As much time as I've spent with mom and dad I really haven't at the same time. We've all always been, well busy." Gwen's eyes got distant and she could feel the Vines, who had promised to take a backseat for the whole date stir at her sadness and she felt something of a hug from them, letting her head clear. Gwen decided to change the subject. "I can also speak French and Arabic decently."
  22. "I'd like that." Gwen flipped her photos to another without looking at it. "You could meet my parents, whenever they get time to visit." the latter part of the sentence held a note of sadness. The photo lay open in Gwen's hand, this one was a younger Gwen dressed as a "proper" upper class child would be. Her hair was braided in two down her shoulders. A bright white knee length sun dress with matching white sunhat, white shoes and white stockings adorned the young Gwen as she stood between two sitting older people. The woman looked much like Gwen's mother, the man's salt and pepper hair was military buzz cut, he wasn't the tallest of men but even in the photo he had an air of authority to him. Each had a hand on one of the girls shoulders, like she was a prize to them. The photo was taken using a very old camera and the colors were faded. Gwen went to flip to another photo.
  23. Gwen flushed pale as she realized that there was so much she hadn't told Brian about her family. Gwen said something to the waitress and passed off her menu. "I..." Gwen pulled out the photo of her parents and showed it to Brian. While Gwen greatly resembled her father, the auburn hair, green eyes, pale freckled skin. However her body structure was obviously that of the Hispanic woman in the photo. Sharp chin, high cheek bones, short stature. "My mom was born in Venezuela-- well I was too but my mothers family is from Venezuela." Gwen shrugged for a moment. "Dad speaks it well enough too, I was raised bi-lingual."
  24. After they had arrived and been seated Gwen sipped her water silently for a moment. She still wasn't sure when would be a good time to talk to Brian about the wonderful things she did at Sanctuary. Finally she grabbed a menu, and practically jumped out of her skin. Gwen waved nearly frantic for a waitress. It had been a while since she had what her mother referred to as proper food. She looked at the woman who came over to serve them and smiled. She was obviously hispanic and Gwen decided to go all out. In a thickly accented spanish she began to order. She seemed to speak at length with the woman asking questions and making judgements based on that. Finally she looked at Brian. "What do you like?"
