  1. Sorry for not posting, I'd meant to ask if the bad guys intentionally ignored Alek's question about helping the dude they shot? Just trying to suss out what to do in there right now.
  2. Raven III Playdate: 1 IC Post Roll over to Thunderbird. Thoughtspeed (Guest Star) The Old Girl Is Dying On Her Feet: 5 IC Posts Roll over to Thunderbird. Thunderbird Dreaming of Falling: 3 IC Posts Pirates Over Midtown: 1 IC Post Guide Point to Thunderbird.
  3. Thunderbird had dragged himself along the deck, using the railings and going post-by-post. He ended up a few feet away from Pan, the screaming winds doing nothing to his wings. In this moment, Micah was profoundly grateful for his goggles. He saw Eira crawl up to them, and (barely) heard her telling Pan they had to "turn" the ship. "Turn it where? Can't we make it stop? Land it?"
  4. When his mother said the show was releasing in June, he breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay, that gives me a bit of time. You're both right about needing to talk to her, just...I wanted a bit of breathing room." His mental voice echoed back to her. 'I...probably. It's not as bad as it was, just...I think talking about Eliza being in all of this made it spike. She has no powers, just some generic self-defense classes.' At his grandmother's words, Will's face went blank. Holly felt a steel wall for a moment, not even catching his emotions; Bryant would not receive what was sent. Paige, Richard, and Anna would feel an enormous spike of anger and satisfaction. For an easy-going boy like Will, it was shocking. But then again, Will was the one who'd fought the fight, and nearly died. "Good." He moved from that on to Holly's exclamation. "You're not a little kid any more, squirt, but you're still my little sister. I'm allowed to be protective. It's in the Big Brother Contract. Didn't you get the Big Sister Contract for Bryant a couple years ago?" Will took another bite of food and chewed thoughtfully, before looking at both of his parents, determination in his eyes. "I intend to keep the helmet on, or a bigger mask, but I'd like to be on the show, even if it's just at the edges. I want to help. This is important. It's...it's family. I was there at the start. I should be there at the end."
  5. Thunderbird As the ship hit him, Micah uttered a couple of choice Cherokee curses before the wind was knocked from his lungs. His powers fought to keep him pinned to the railing of the ship, while his arms and legs grasped the thick wooden beam. He saw Eira dive below decks. This hadn't been the plan; he'd wanted to cripple the ship, get it heading down to the ground. Worst case, summon enough wind to make it a gentle crash (his cousin's voice echoed in his mind, "no such thing"). But tearing through dimensions? And now he heard a clock... "Oh fu-" The roar of the vortex swallowed the rest, as Thunderbird fought to roll himself over the side of the ship. He managed to plant himself on the deck, still clasping the railing. The ship was moving too wildly, the vortex howling too fiercely, for him to feel safe trying to move after Eira. He'd have to trust she could handle herself until they stopped this mad journey. If it stopped.
  6. Will ran a hand through his hair at the advice his parents were offering. This was not how he'd anticipated the meal going. At all. "I'm not trying to lie to her! Just....like, this isn't the sort of thing you just tell people on the first date. Like, Mom, Dad, Grandma, if it was just you guys, I'd probably be less worried. But Bryant's a little kid and doesn't have any powers, and Holly's still a teenager." Only the adults heard his mental words next; Holly knew he said something but Will was good enough he could block her out. The emotional echoes that resonated would give her a hint what it was about. 'I still have nightmares at least once every couple of months of when those soldiers came for us. I can't do something that risks that, but worse.' He continued out loud. "Plus, if that connection's made really public, people trace it back to Claremont. And there's loads of friends I made there that I don't want to risk exposing. I'm not lying to Eliza. But trust is earned and built for something like this." He looked at his family, his expression softening. "Okay, when is this going to get released? If I have a timeframe I can start having conversations with her. Work toward the 'reveal'." Then he looked at Holly with a slight smirk. "I'm pretty sure she'll appreciate my current outfit, Holly. The glow-lines are flattering." Granted it helped that having physically-channeled speedster powers kept him in tip-top physical condition...
  7. Thunderbird saw the pirates on the ground going for his friend, but there were only a few of them. But on the ship, only Angelic stood firm. Micah and Eira weren't the best of friends, but he'd been around her enough to know beneath the prickly exterior was a good heart and soul, regardless of what she believed about herself. And these pirates wished to harm her? "NO!" His voice echoed out as he flew closer. "Pirates! Thieves! Murderers! Terrors of the sky and sea! Behold your judgement!" HIs ethereal wings flashed with every word, even as the sky above rumbled in time with them. Then, with an almighty CRACKATHOOM, a bolt of lightning the shade of shining emerald jewels raced down to his waiting, upstretched palm. Thunderbird snapped his hand forward, and the ball of electricity he had gathered scorched the sky as it streaked toward the ship's decks. There it struck true, as if the ship were no more than a prideful tree laid low in a thunderstorm.
  8. Right, Thunderbird's gonna try to keep the ship from doing stuff. Move Action: Get within 1st range increment (120 feet) of the Ship, if not there already. Free Action: All-Out Attack for 2 (Defense is now +12, Attack Bonus is now +10), and Power Attack for 3 (Attack Bonus is now +7, Damage DC is now 30). Standard Action: Ranged Attack vs Ship: 16. If that hits, it's a DC 30 Toughness Save.
  9. William Cline sighed the sigh of the doomed. He set his utensils down, wiped his mouth with his napkin, and took a sip of water before he started talking. All at slower-than-even-normal speeds. His parents didn't need their telepathic bond to know he was stalling, and Holly could pick it up over their sibling bond. Will's eyes flicked over his family for a moment, before he started to speak. "We've only been dating a couple of months. I really like her, and she seems to like me, but after the last breakup, I'm not in a hurry." Paige and Richard remembered how things went down after Amber. Will had been in a bad mood for weeks after that relationship ended. "Her name is Elizabeth, but she goes by Eliza. She knows about you in that she knows the names of my family and what our relationships are. We're not to the point I'm comfortable telling her about..." Here he seemed at a loss for words, so instead he simply held up a hand and let the strange green-and-black dots of kinetic energy bubble out from his palm for a moment. He nodded toward the manifestation of his power, then snuffed it out and continued. "So she also doesn't know about the show. Because that'd connect the rest of the dots. We met through mutual friends. She's actually doing a lot of technical work; sound engineering and stuff, but most days she just works the boom mics and stuff." Will glanced at his father, a slightly sly grin on his face. "I haven't gotten her opinion on ninjas yet. One could argue she's a bit of a ninja, what with having to be silent and unseen on set when she's working the mic..." He laughed a bit at his grandmother's observations. "Mom and Dad also told me all the other stuff they were getting up to in those days, Grandma. I think me taking it a bit slower works out in the end."
  10. Gabriel personally interacted with one of the robot duplicates, as did Cobalt Templar. Of the two Gabriel is more "camera friendly", but honestly they both had rather interesting experiences based off of that. So I'm totally down for having them be part of the interviews.
  11. "Don't worry, Grandma, if anyone gives you trouble for being on the show, I'll talk to them." Will flashed a winning smile that was all Richard, as much as he'd swear he didn't copy any of his father's mannerims. He grew more serious after that. "Of course I'll be in it. I'm guessing we'd all be masked up? I know I'm probably worse than some heroes about it but I really do prefer having a secret identity. It's helped with college, and it's helping me avoid too much hassle at my new job. Plus I haven't told my girlfriend yet." Will froze immediately after speaking, his fork halfway to his mouth and eyes wide, like a deer in headlights. Only Holly, through their "sibling bond", heard the words he thought next. 'I've made a terrible mistake.'
  12. William had been digging into his food with as much speed and gusto as the manners instilled by his mother allowed. His appetite was in many ways the largest in the family, due to his powers being a touch more "physical" than even his father's. When Richard clarified they'd been canceled, though, he set his utensils down with a deep frown. "Wait, you're telling me that the Home Town Hero Hunters show is edging out your ratings? But you guys actually get the heroes to talk on camera! You've done interviews! Forget the time-travel, this is, like..." Will shook his head with disbelief. "It's not because you didn't pick up the home-improvement show idea, is it? Because that's not even the same network! And those things are-" Will stopped, closed his eyes, and went through a mental calming technique that Paige taught him shortly after he graduated high school. His powers had continued to strengthen, and the sheer level of kinetic energy his body could produce would be dangerous if one wasn't careful. In an eye-blink for Holly, Paige, and Bryant, and less than a minute to the eyes of his father and grandmother, Will opened his eyes and spoke more calmly. "I know you guys have been saving, but Holly's got a point. What are your plans next? And do you need help with the finale?"
  13. Raven tensed as Bowman fell, and he started to move for the pretentious criminal...and then the man was gone. "So that's what that feels like. Hn." He turned to the two young apprentice heroes. His face was carved from stone, even as he took Bowman gently from Arrow's arms. It was clear he had an easier time with his fellow hero's weight than she did. Probably due to his out-massing her by a decent margin. "Arrow. Overwatch on the balcony. Nevermore, keep him stable. I'll get our ride out. The police have been tipped off; I know the Captain on-duty but best we're gone." The dark avenger of Freedom was entering commands into a hardened palm-top computer even as he spoke and handed Bowman off to Nevermore. "After he's loaded I need both of you to burn any trace of him. I don't trust our gentleman's agreement with law enforcement to stop enterprising busy-bodies if the get blood samples." As he spoke, a rumble like a barely-leashed beast grew louder, before stopping right next to one of the big loading doors. Raven's free hand flashed out, and a feather-shaped throwing weapon sprang out to hit a lever just so, causing the door to raise even as the feather flew back to his hand. He caught it and tucked it away, manipulating it in a long-practiced move that had it reducing to a quarter of its previous size. Outside, the intimidating bulk of the Unkindness rumbled, a side door folded open to show a pair of passenger seats. More than a brief glance showed they were made of some type of slick plastic with no grooves or holes; clearly the potential situation of "transporting a bleeding and injured hero" had been anticipated.
  14. Richard felt the subtle waves of air motion of a speedster approaching the house, and the family's mental link all bug sang with Will's slightly anxious presence as he finished his race in from the west coast. His mental response to his sister had been wordless, like the sound of an anxious guitar chord. But the sound when he arrived was a (thankfully muted) "boom", accompanied by a rush of wind. When he opened the door, a couple of bits of dead leaves made their way into the entry hall, though Will was well-trained enough by his mother that he kept the worst of it outside. Now a young man in truth, he was, if not the spitting image of his father at that age, certainly close enough that folks would take a second look. Unlike his father, he didn't need to dye away the grey, and his hair, currently about shoulder-length, was wind-swept just so. He slowly took off the sleek shades on his face and tucked them in the pocked of his windbreaker, before calmly hanging it on the coat tree. He wandered into the dining room. "Hey everyone. Sorry I'm late. There was a bit storm out in the Plains, had to dodge around the Barnstormers dealing with that. Pretty sure it was some new weather-controller bad guy. They seem to love it out there. Oh, potatoes!" Will started piling his plate high with food. "Grandma, I didn't think you'd be out here until sometime in the spring. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see you! Just didn't realize we were having a Family Dinner."
  15. Micah blinked at Lulu's arrival, but at this point had steeled himself against further surprise guests that he didn't really jump, or manifest weather changes, because of it. Instead, he just gave Lulu a smile and nod. "Good to see you too, Lulu." He smiled seeing how warm Lulu and Judy were with each other. Lulu could pick up a few emotions from Micah. There was some lingering...not quite anger any more, but the echoes of the echo of that; probably due to Judy's "big reveal" and his realizations from that. There was a sense of not quite believing things were going this well. More immediately, she picked up that Micah was genuinely happy that Judy had a friend she cared about and trusted so dearly. She was no stranger to the idea that some young men were jealous of their significant other's time; Micah instead seemed to have an attitude that it was a net gain, a greater good, for Judy to have friends. Also, she got a mental image of Judy kissing Micah on the cheek, basically playing on repeat in the back of his mind.
  16. Micah shifted back just slightly as Judy jumped; he was clearly trying to not intimidate the young lady by intruding on her space. He relaxed at almost the same time she did. "Quite a morning indeed, Miss Cahill." At her offer to walk her up, Micah blinked, then smiled. He gently took her arm, and a place by her side; he was nothing but a gentleman. "It would absolutely be my pleasure to help escort you safely to your room. Even if I know you're in extremely capable hands already." He gave Ashley a smile and nod at that, then focused on Judy. He started moving forward gently, looking to set an easy-going pace. Micah was in no hurry to be done with this. "Let's be off, my lady."
  17. Micah gave a vague nod when Pan observed that Judy liked "dorks". He seemed to be mostly back to reality, but was still distracted enough he missed the whole affair with Leon. But then Pan held out a book; specifically, Judy's Bible. Micah blinked, then nodded firmly. "Thanks, Pan, I'll be back in a minute." He strode with purpose toward Judy, even as she talked to Leo about something. Micah stopped a respectful distance away; he looked content to wait for Judy to finish. When Ashley looked his way, he pointed to the Bible, then Judy, with a smile and nod; he mouthed "she dropped it" to the bodyguard. His farm-boy-esque smile and nod makes it clear he thinks that's what actually happened, too.

  19. Micah stumbled slightly at Pan's slap, and moved a step closer to Judy. It left them close, but not improperly close. At Judy's initial response, he smiled. "I'm glad, and I just want you to know I don't intend to just stretch things out, I just want us to be sur-" And then Judy kissed him on the cheek. Thanks to his open mouth and Pan's shove-slap, it was millimeters away from being on his lips. Micah went stock-still, and his eyes slowly widened at the sensation. He didn't flinch away from the heat around Judy's skin; indeed, if anything, the air around Micah shot up to the temperature one would expect of summer. In Arizona. As she walked away, he just stood there for several long moments. "Uh." Then he blinked, and managed to string some words together. "I'll see you later, then!" He immediately turned to Pan, his face conflicted. "That was the lamest follow-up ever and I am such a dork."
  20. Micah stood silently as Pan pleaded Judy's case, and Judy asked for Micah's grace. Finally he sighed an ran a hand over his face. "I don't believe you wanted to hurt anyone, Judy. And I believe that you weren't the one making the decision to do it." He locked eyes with her for almost a minute, hurt and a bit of anger showing in his own eyes. Then he looked to Ashley. "Thank you for working to keep her safe." He once again met Judy's eyes, his own shining with the tiniest flicker of his power. "I forgive you. And I believe you. I'm willing to keep being friends, and to..." Here he faltered, before taking a deep breath. "To see if perhaps we like the idea of being more than just friends. But I...we can't go fast, Judy. So many other things in my life feel like they're going fast. I want to just...take our time. Is that okay?"
  21. Judy felt Micah before she saw or heard him; the tightly-leashed electromagnet energies around his body practically pulsed with power. Ashley's training, both past and present, meant she did hear him, but when he stepped into view, he looked non-threatening. His hair was recently-cut, his jeans fit well, and the winter coat on his body wasn't even zipped. The air about him shimmered slightly, suggesting he was manipulating the temperature for greater comfort. The lack of snow on the ground in a circle around him, and in a trail behind him leading to one of the larger trees on campus, reinforced the notion. For several long moments, he stood there, some ten feet in front of the girl he had a crush on, and her "sister". His face was...not calm, but cut off; his eyes were squinted slightly at both of them. Finally, he spoke. "How much?" He took a few great strides forward, eating the distance up until he was barely more than an arm's reach away from the girls. The breeze stirred slightly, and both felt the warmth in the air around him as it cycled gently. To Judy's senses he almost hummed a song, now, so close was he and the energy around him. His eyes flashed with sudden anger, and his tone was clipped. "How much, exactly, was a lie?" His eyes flicked to Ashley, and the anger she heard in his voice faded, very slightly, before flaring again as he looked at Judy. "Your names? Your birthplace? Your family? Your feelings?" He stood still for long moments before he continued. "My cousin thought it was funny, at first, until she had to slap down the thunderhead that almost popped up over our house. My mother just got real quiet-like for a while, before she said anything. 'Everyone has their reasons, Micah. Her daddy's not so bad a man, even if he didn't rightly follow up on his promises to his home state.' Janet said that I should count myself lucky; if you were lyin' about this, you wouldn't have time to mess with a boy's head. But I can't help but wonder, you know? Keeps ticklin' my brain." He looked back and forth between Judy and Ashley a couple of times, before he posed a question. "So. What should I believe now?"
  22. Raven III "No one said you could leave." came the inhuman growl from the Raven. His mouth was set in a snarl, and he snapped a powerful right cross at the wavering bodyguard in front of him. The blow landed perfectly, striking the man hard enough to drive the wind from his lungs, again, and lifting him up just right. Which meant that the hard elbow to the side of his neck struck the pressure point with the correct amount of force, aided by the sparking taser-gloves, to render him completely unconscious. Without even stopping his rotation, Raven moved like lightning. His cape whirled through the air, a brief distraction as his foot snapped up in a classic hook kick to his solar plexus. The blow left the man bent over and wheezing, which let the axe-blow to the back of his neck land soundly. The second guard wasn't entirely out of the fight yet, but he was sufficiently slowed that Raven could afford to activate his commlink. "Some overwatch fire would be handy right now, Bowman." Some heroes would hate asking for help like that. Raven didn't care; the Mission came first, before even his pride as a warrior, as a hero.
  23. Right, sorry about this. Takedown Attack Melee Attack vs Bodyguard 1: 25. Pretty sure that hits. Wait, shoot, no, it's 20, because Power Attack would still be active, yeah? Well, if it does hit, DC 29 Toughness and DC 20 Fort.
  24. I'm hoping to work on the build for Gawain soon.
  25. I will use the above rolls, as I wouldn't be changing my actions or target, and re-rolling seems cheaty.
