  1. Myrmidon stood out of the way as the security officer shepherded his charges away from the weakened structure and made sure that all of nearby civilians were away while tapping into the local police and emergency band. << Myrmidon to any available responders. Reporting multiple civilian casualties in Freedom Hall, in addition to significant structural damage from ongoing meta-human threat. I need immediate med-evac for the critical wounded and cordon set up to clear the nearby buildings. Be aware that suspect has been identified as Star-Knight of the Freedom League, any further contact with any other League Members should be approached with caution. I repeat, Star-Knight has gone rogue. >> He repeated the message twice, before turning and stalking into the ruins of Freedom Hall acutely aware that he might be facing multiple hostiles in the form of the Freedom League.
  2. Tagged. Incidentally, John is dressed akin to the Sniper from TF2. Make of it what you will. :D
  3. Johns blue eyes gazed out from behind his ubiquitous sunglasses as he kept an eye on the jungle while periodically checking on the other Claremonters. While technically not the oldest here, he was the senior student and he took the responsibility seriously especially since there was a student he was unfamiliar with present. The clone hero was unsurprisingly well prepared for the excursion, his clothing more along the lines of a game warden or great white hunter of old. Dark khaki cargo pants disappeared into combat boots, while a similarly colored hunting vest lay unbuckled over a light brown polo shirt. Completing the ensemble was a dark brown bush hat and fingerless shooting gloves with his only supplies packed in a light rucksack at his feet. He had his own motivations for applying to this trip, namely wanting to improve his SERE skills and to hopefully pick up some tricks of the trade from a master survivalist. He had found normal camping quite boring, and the fact of potentially deadly wildlife only made John more excited about going. This of course was not lost on his friend Morgan and the other Irregular had used the excuse to marathon all of the Jurassic Park movies before John left on the trip. To the others currently nearby, John still had the professional and watchful demeanor he was well known for but here their serious classmate almost looked...relaxed.
  4. Tagged. Myrmidon is using his armors' Radio Sense to see if there's anything being broadcast locally that can give him some more intel on the situation.
  5. John had just looked at his watch and noted he was ahead of schedule for his appointment when what appeared to be another mundane day in Freedom City apparently had decided to become interesting. The Claremonter paused for the barest of seconds as he surveyed in the carnage before breaking into a full dash towards the now crumbling edifice of Freedom Hall. Passing through a thick cloud of debris from the falling masonry, he activated his armor and Myrmidon emerged fully clad on the other side of the cloud. Needing more intelligence on the developing situation, the teen began a sensor sweep of the nearby police and civilian radio bands for more information as he vaulted the crumpled remains of what used to be a stone bench. The clone hero slowy but surely made headway through the panicked crowd as he advanced towards the nearest staffer. << Sitrep. How many more are inside? >> Myrmidon asked the disheveled staffer, the modulated tones of his external comm-link cutting above the din.
  6. I'd love to have Myr in this. Survival against deadly beasts? Sounds like a great fieldtrip to him!
  7. Power Attacking -2 Atk, +2 DC Standard Action: Atk Roll: 1d20+10 = 30 Yay! Crit! DC 22 base, so DC 27 TOU w/ the crit. Move Action: Move to nearest cover.
  8. John spared a nod in Blodeuwedds' direction. "Yes you do." Turning his attention back to Burkhardt, Myrmidons' tone was ice cold. "As for you Brother, you seem to be confused. I care not for your reasons. You are just another rampant clone with delusions of grandeur. You see, there will be no place for me as well when I am done with Kantor and his ilk, being a soldier without a war." Myrmidons' aim shifted slightly, as waited for the commandants' response. "Now. Tell me where the civilians you have abducted are and I will not prolong the inevitable." It was clear the commandant no longer considered parley a viable option, and the clones' response was an abrupt "Very well," followed by the blaster pistol discharging again.

  10. Well, so much for stealth. All-Out Power attacking -5 Def/+5 DC. Myrmidons' Def is now +9. Atk Roll - 1d20+12= 23 I'm assuming Blast 5 for the Blaster Pistol as it's just a vanilla piece of equipment. DC 25 Tou needed from the Commandant, if it hits.
  11. The jig was up. Myrmidon knew that their disguises would not last, but at least it gave them the chance to eliminate one of the base commanders. However, it seemed like this iteration of clone stock had had retained a flair of the dramatic and egocentric tendencies from the original. Had he been in the other clones shoes, he would have just had the pair ambushed and shot on sight instead of this parley. "I am no fool. Application of magic text to skin without knowledge of its effects is reckless at best, suicidal at worst." Myrmidon walked forward a bit, halfing the distance between him and the commandant before continuing. "As for the Overfather as you call him, I will throw him down and smite his ruin across the remnants of his broken empire." The statement was punctuated by the clone hero leveling his pilfered weapon at the commandant followed a heartbeat later by the signature whine-bark of blaster pistol discharging.
  12. John shot a scowl at the displaced blade on the floor before nodding in understanding and appreciation at the swordsmasters' explanation. "I sacrificed my weapon for the sake of a strike, rendering myself weaponless and open to your full reprisal if you so chose." He massaged both his wrists to alleviate the numbness the disarming had caused before picking up the weapon in question. Afterwards John quickly cleared off the mat, seeing as there was still one more student that had not yet gone. He was curious as to the older gentlemans' fighting style, especially as he was mostly self taught by his earlier confession.
  13. John is just going attempt a lunge attack via the charge maneuver +2 Atk, -2 Def. Full round: 1d20+12+2 = 29
  14. While watching both Cerys and Eve engage Erik, John realized that he was definitely outclassed when it came to bladed weaponry. His reaction speed was amazing; it was maybe even a shade faster than Etains' fey-like grace. But he could be hit. The revelation that came with the successful strike caused John to speak up. "Well now, that finally confirms some of the questions I possessed. Especially as to why Miss Teymourian recommended this facility to me." He made a mental note to thank her the next time he saw her. Lessons from a genuine master swordsman would certainly go a long way in improving his repertoire of skills. The clone also had decided to give Erik the letter from the Headmaster after this session, since the man had a right to know who exactly he was potentially training. He waited until Erik was finished with Eve before stepping up to test his mettle. Focusing his attention solely on the blademaster, John stated the words driven into him from his former handlers by rote. "Prepare yourself."
  15. The counterfeit Officer Flay acknowledged the new arrival with a slight nod before looking to 'Officer Groan' << We need to 'finish' the inspection and then I was informed to report to the Commandant about his ongoing violations. If something does go wrong we do have cause for self-defense. But somethings feels wrong here, be on your toes. >> 'Flay' turned back the aide and switched back to the external commlink. << Inspection? We have reported intruders and are scouring the base. Get your men set to securing this wing, and direct us as to the Commendant. >> Something was off here, between a clone commander who did not follow protocol and the schism between the departments. He gestured to the aide to lead on, as he kept a wary watch on the surroundings.
  16. John sat quietly as Subito talked and got the matter out in the open as opposed to letting it fester. "Trust me, Mister Subito. It would be readily apparent if I was somehow displeased with you or bore any ill will about the situation. Accidents happen. Some people get lost in the moment. There is nothing wrong with acting on impulse as long as you learn from it." John stood and walked to the door. "This is all water under the bridge. No need to feel awkward or be anything else than yourself." The clone hero opened the door. "I am always willing to help. Knowing ones' history is a sure way to avoid the mistakes of the past. Good day, Mr. Subito." The steady cadence of his stride sounded down the hall as he left the teen to his thoughts.
  17. I'm sorry Az for disappearing. I went out of country and I since I didn't have a laptop I was unable to post. Heli's toughness save: 1d20+12=16 vs. DC 30 TOU. Take a HP for Wisp. I'm having it re-roll that. Second roll - 1d20+12=20 (since it's below 10, +10 to roll) =30 vs DC 30. No damage. The hit causes the helicopter flicker visible a few seconds as the cloaking tries to keep up, before it fades into the background again. Go ahead and posts wisp action in the IC thread, and I'll get the others up afterwards asap.

  19. John stepped inside and closed the door behind him. "You do no need to worry about any social fallout or reparations from what occur, I will keep the matter private and there were no other witnesses." John then pulled out the chair from a nearby desk and sat facing Subito. "This trust extends two ways, Mister Subito, as this occurrence has left me little choice in revealing some personal matters so that you fully understand where I am coming from." The clone paused to let that sink in before continuing. "I do not care about your sexual orientation or that you might be somehow attracted to me. The fact of the matter is that I can never reciprocate those emotions regardless of their source. As a result of my powers and training I am rendered what could be called...sterile when it comes to emotions and the brain chemistry thereof. I can mimic their appropriate physical reactions for better blending in of social situations, but those are what they are: a facade. In addition, I have been...conditioned to ignore any and all sexual impulses and drives." John shook his head, averting his gaze. "It might be best to think of me in terms of being asexual. I have zero interests in procreation or relationships with others, period." John had returned his gaze back at Subito. "Do you understand?"
  20. John for his part was about to wave off the thanks and was not expecting...that. The blondes' body went straight as a ramrod and about as unresponsive as the other teen went about his business before realizing what he had done. By the time his mind had finished attempting to compute what had just transpired, Subito was long gone. John reached and rubbed the bridge of his nose, letting lose a sigh before staring at the ceiling. His own social ineptitude aside, John was currently more concerned about why these things happened to him and how to best salvage the situation. Packing up his computer, he dropped it off in his room before going to Subitos' door and knocking on it. "Mister Subito. I believe some clarification is needed at the moment. I would like to iterate that I am not bearing any ill will about the incident and would like to speak to you further on the matter." The lines were delivered Johns normal, crisp, professional tone. "Please open the door."
  21. A couple of things about the current foe: I'm using the vehicular combat rules as mentioned in the house rules for FCPbP, which I will repost here for your convenience. Vehicle Combat: As per the Masterminds Manual, a character operating a vehicle can take a move action to move the vehicle under its own power, and either a standard action to attack with any vehicle-mounted weapons, or a standard action for "evasive maneuvers," which replaces the vehicle's normal Defense (10 + vehicle's size modifier) with (the result of the operator's skill check + vehicle's size modifier) for 1 round. The helicopter stats are: STR 35, Speed 5 (subtle) (250 mph/ 2,500 ft per move action), Defense 8, Toughness 12, Size: Huge - Powers: Concealment 4 (visual; blending -1) Concealment 4 (Auditory, Radio), Blast 6 "Machinegun" (Autofire, Improved Crit 1 [19-20]), Blast 8 "Rocket pods" (Autofire, Area: Shapeable; unreliable: 4 uses [now 3]), Blast 10 "Air-to-Air Missiles" (Area: Burst, Homing unreliable: 4 uses). Features: Disguised, Ejection Seats, Masterwork Controls (+2 Pilot Checks, no penalty for passengers), Disguised [Made of Non-metallics] The pilot is using the Ace Pilot Archetype from Agents of Freedom, and when all said and done has a +15 to pilot checks and can take 10 on them. The gunner is the same navy SEAL archetype but has replaced any his improved crit (rifle) and attack specialization (rifle) with vehicular weapons instead of rifles. This will put him at +9 on attack rolls w/ vehicle weapons. The current initiative is: Helicopter (Pilot) Helicopter (Gunner) Myrmidon Wisp The pilot used a move to lift off and his standard for evasive maneuvers, which Wisp has triggered. the gunner shot at Myr with an AA missile, which missed and Myr then tried to evade and it followed with homing and then wisp took a shot with at the nearby heli with no range penalty. (It's around 80 feet away currently). Since the pilot is alert and ready to take evasive maneuvers, the Heli's defense is at 33 (15 + 10 [skill mastery on pilot check] + 8 [huge size mod]). Which causes the shot to go wide. round is over, so next round. The Pilot uses a move to back away from the ship and puts the helicopter around 200 feet off of its port side. His standard is yet another evasive maneuvers check, with the same DC 33 to hit the heli. The gunner fires a salvo from the rocket pods into the side of the ship, causing the ship to take on a noticable tilt. From their tactics, Wisp can tell they're more intent on sinking the ship than her unless she does something to get their attention. Myrmidon loses this turn due to being stunned at the moment from a failed save vs. the missile which exploded. So go ahead and post Wisps' action, and then I'll post the GM post and it will be your action again.
  22. "Good. Too many of our classmates tend to be 'leap before they look' types as the saying goes." He stoically accepted the pat on his back, since he saw it coming and Subito was not displaying any hostile intent. The clone hero then frowned for a second. "I must confess that my expertise when it comes to magics is limited to how to counter it than the application you seek. I defer to Morgan or Etain in the vast majority of situations that involve arcana of one type or another. Their residence called Parkhurst might have some applicable tomes on the subject if you ask them." John stroked his chin idly, and when the solution presented itself he snapped his fingers. "Ah. There is someone who could probably help. I recall Morgan mentioning to me that he was receiving some training from another tenet at Parkhurst, who is a necromancer. More than likely he would be able to easily assist you."
  23. It was not often that Myrmidon gave into his baser emotions, but currently there was a smug grin underneath the helmet as he punched in the elevator code. He switched back to Blodeuwedds' and his private channel. << Bureaucracies. >> he answered to the unasked question with a disdainful snort. << It seems that this Commandant Burkehardt might be showing signs of rampancy, so be on your toes. Sometimes the cloning process has...quirks. >> The helmeted hero replied to his current ally, as he pressed the ornate floor button once the code cleared.
