  1. The missile itself weighs 250 lbs. It attacked Myr unsuccessfully, and on his turn Myr moved all-out straight upwards (Flight 5 [2,500] x 4 for all out) to avoid the missile. The missile followed because it has homing 2, and the pair are currently around 10,000 ft and climbing.
  2. Sabot had an amused smirk as she shook him like a bobblehead. "Okay, Okay. I'll get an evac plan working, Miss angry alliteration." He slowly got to his feet after Wisp let go and took a radio from his belt. "Men this is Sabot, do a head count and meet me at the forecastle hangar. Our mutual benefactor has decided that we are no longer cost effective. Nobody left behind, understand gentlemen?" The radio crackled with responses of 'Yes, Sirs and Copy that's.' He looked from Wisp to Myrmidon and back again. "Now then, I'm going to hobble in that general direction." Sabot gestured and proceed towards the front of the vessel, his clanking steps gradually fading as he left the two heroes behind." << That is a negative. In any case I am restricted from creating weapons with fissile - Spike Launch! Evading! >> Myr barked out suddenly and engaged his afterburners while trailing chaff that rained down like metallic snow. He rocketed skyward, the cause readily apparent as an air-to-air missile screamed after the rapidly ascending hero.
  3. "Gospel of Mark chapter nine: 'And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith unto him, My name is Legion; for we are many.' I could cite further examples, but possession is not exactly a rare occurrence according to the religious texts and historical documents that I have read." He had read those for other reasons, but that was not the point. John waved the thanks off. "Do not concern yourself in the matter. I am happy to help others, especially outside my areas of expertise. Before I came here, my opinion and viewpoints were deemed inconsequential. So it is a thankful change that others, including yourself Mister Subito, bother to ask for my assistance. That in itself I deem to be a worthy repayment of my time." John then gave a look at Subito that was commonly reserved for Morgans' more inane plans at his sudden idea. "If you do choose that course of action I hope that you bring along others in case that something unexpected might happen. I would also suggest further research than just taking verbatim from one source. The idea has merit, but I caution for looking before leaping in scenarios with unknown variables such as this one."
  4. GM The armored figured laughed as the helmet dispersed and gestured in the direction of the sound. "There's nothing on this tub other than what I'm wearing that could even stop begin to slow down the weapons on that heli. My men are down to a mere skeleton crew." He fished around for something along his waist, drawing out a dog-legged cigarette that he lit and brought to his lips. "The final issue is that I sink like a millstone in water, so there is little I could do to help. I could close small holes, yes. But what those missiles will do to the hull would require a dry dock and overnight work for me to make a seaworthy patch." Sabot sat down and leaned his head against the bulkhead. "Plus, Miss Socialite thought ahead and that bird has nary a wisp of metal in it. I couldn't bring it down if I wanted." He exhaled some smoke. "So the the two of you might want to worry more about it than me at this point."
  5. Myrmidon shook his head. << Sending an exterior communication would be akin to shooting a flare. All it would serve would be for the to easily locate us when they triangulate the transmission. One moment, I think I know of a method to gain access. >> The clone hero tapped his comm-link, putting it to broadcast on the command channel. << Sir, Flay and Groan here. We are currently about to search the South Facility but Commandant Burkehardt has voided protocol and not changed daily codes, again. How do you wish for us to proceed? >> His impressions of the real officers they were imitating being sticklers for details and operations would hopefully pay off, along with the small but noticeable schism between the tech and magic management of the base. Certainly the real officers would had better use of their time than bothering with memorizing week old passwords.
  6. John gave a rueful bark of a laugh. "Morgan and Victoria have assured me that my smile is quote 'downright unsettling' and would 'probably give small children nightmares'. As for the other inquiry, Vigilo Confido. It is something of a character quirk." "But back to the issue at hand, there is another method but I do not think you or the Lady would approve of it. It is where the envoy completely is in control of the body, and uses the corporeal form as a puppet to enact their will upon the world. It is something more commonly seen in historical religious figures, but it would depend upon the nature of the envoy. These might see a human body as little more than a tool, meant to be used and discard when no longer serviceable." He pointed at a map of the Caribbean that was on the page. "You would have to ask an expert, but depending on the local beliefs and customs of the indigenous population it could have been acceptable to have the 'spirits walk the land'."
  7. Myrmidon Ants among the Flowers (4) Marching to the Beats (14) Spanner in the Works (4) The Jade Arenas of Heaven: Shock the Monkey(1) y Dderwen (1) 4+14+4+1+1 = 24 posts GM Spanner in the Works (9) 9 = 9 posts GM posts go to Myrmidon, which puts his total posts at the month at 34 (+3 PP).
  8. The only warning Wisp and Sabot got from Myrmidon was << Hostiles inbound, heavy weapons present >> Before the helmeted hero engaged his armors jetpack and charged into the ranks of the approaching soldiers. He moved out of sight behind more f the omnipresent shipping containers, the shots of laser rifles and other weapons sounding and then being silenced a few seconds afterwords. Wisps' commlink beeped. << They are buying time for something. This is a mere distraction. Sabot likely...one moment. >> Myrmidon intoned over the radio. An oncoming and then receding hissing sound was heard followed by a detonation, as he continued. << Hostiles neutralized. As I was saying Sabot knows something that we do not. >>
  9. GM The blast forced the armored man to take a knee, the impervious hissing and cracking from the heat of the blast as loudly as the man inside let loose some choice invectives. As he slowly regained his bearing, the rhythmic sound of boots on metal grew louder. "Heh. Took them long enough." He turned to face Wisp. "Alright, Round Three..." The duo of heroes and Sabot apparently heard it at the same time, barely discernible above the other noises masking it. The whine of a helicopter engine warming up. "Great. Now she's going to kill us all."
  10. John half-smiled at Subito, noting wryly. "You were chosen to be the physical avatar of your nations spirit. That is better than nothing, indeed." "I do know of envoys being magically and/or technologically warped, in an attempt to bend them another will. That has an effect, regardless of how non-human they seem to be. It could outright destroy them, if they are forced to things against their very nature. Could you imagine Lady Liberty participating in slavery?" John looked like he had recalled something. "Such a thing might cause a schism in the envoy in an attempt to save itself, for example the Lady Liberties during the Civil War?" "If I had to hazard a guess about the physical officeholder affecting the envoy, think of it as looking out a window. One window only, and there are no other windows present. The window represents the physical officeholder and their outlook and view on the world. Sure, there are other sources of information like the internet or other people. But those are being mostly seen through that window. It is much easier to control a person than it is an envoy. With proper misinformation and misdirection, you could make the bearer do things that even the envoy would not typically foresee." He leaned back in his chair. "I do think that it has been used to start wars by using people who strongly believed they were protecting their nation. Gavrilo Princip who assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, was a Serbian nationalist." "The Shieldmaiden was very informative and forthright." He did not care to mention that she was extremely chatty and....handsy. He shuddered a bit at that memory. "Once we stopped trying to incapacitate each other that is."
  11. They all can hear what sounds like a helicopter starting up, but it's a lot quieter and nearly drowned out by the alarms still going off.
  12. Welp, thankfully for Wisp his uncanny dodge is visual based so that indeed does connect. Sabot toughness check - 1d20+10=19 vs DC 32. That's a Bell ringer. He's Staggered and Stunned. Go ahead and post that hit, and I'll go ahead and do his turn and Myrs'. His turn he's stunned, but now the soldiers start arriving. Next turn they'll be able to act. Soldier initative: 1d20+4=14 33 Myr - Uninjured, 2 HP 24 Wisp - Uninjured, 4 HP 19 Sabot - Bruised x2, Staggered 14 Soldiers x8 - Uninjured (minions) Myr sees the soldiers coming (they're toting significantly heavier firepower than they had on the bridge) and decides they're a bit more important than Sabot. Power attacking and taking 10 makes it so auto-hit and they can't make the DC. They're gone. However, I need a notice check from Wisp. Myrmidon notice check - Skill mastery, 20. Sabot Notice check - 1d20+12=29
  13. Myrmidon needed to disable Sabot quickly, as there was no telling how soon he would get backup as the soldiers worked through their confusion. With a quick burst of axial thrust followed by cutting the jetpack, he dropped to the ground while building up momentum for a heavy strike with his sword. Sabot had apparently seen a ploy like this before, moving out of the way as Myrmidon buried the sword to the hilt as it cut a swath of unimpeded damage from the slash. "Wow. What kind of box of Wheaties did you find that in?" Asked the armored villain as he whistled appreciatively at the collateral damage.
  14. GM Sabot whipped around when his original target disappeared in a puff of smoke, and moved to to engage Myrmidon. "We'll see about that." he intoned as he pantomimed throwing a javelin, which sent the end of the loose cabling now strewn across the deck dead center at the clones' faceplate. The blue collar villain grinned underneath his armored shell of impervium when the the telltale sound of metal impacting metal was heard, only to see small sections of the cable go flying in different directions as the hero sundered apart his improvised weapon. << My turn. >> was the only response.
  15. Sabot, seeing as he only has one viable target, advances and attacks Myrmidon. 1d20+12=28 Since that actually hits Myrmidon, the trick does not work. Myrmidon saving throw check. 1d20+10=29 vs. DC 27. Saved. Next round! 33 Myr - Uninjured, 2 HP 24 Wisp - Uninjured, 4 HP 19 Sabot - Bruised x2 Myrmidon attempts to feint Sabot, using his Skill Mastery and Fast Tactical Feint. 1d20+18= 35 and fails. Sabot doesn't fall for it. Myrmidon All-Out power attacks Sabot. 1d20+12=19 Swing and a miss.
  16. Myrmidon glanced about the battlefield as he surveyed his options. First he needed a weapon that could punch through that armor. Thought turned to action, and soon the clone hero was holding an energy blade that could fulfill those requirements. Now was a matter of how to engage Sabot. The man had shrugged off a blast that Myrmidon had seen firsthand core main battle tanks in the Wreck Room, and with the close proximity he did not want to use a ranged weapon. A creaking of strained metal overhead gave him cause to look skyward, seeing a shipping crate rocking lightly as it held suspended from one of the ships overhead loading cranes. A plan quickly formulated as he recalled the speed of the last strike from Sabot. 'It should be enough, theoretically.' The helmeted hero mused. Time to set it into motion. "You missed." He stated to the armored figure, the masking effect of his external commlink doing little to hide the disdain in his voice as he gave half second nod towards the other end of the cable.
  17. GM The blast slammed into Sabots' head, causing the armored man to take a half-step backwards. Other than that, it did not seem to phase him in the slightest has he advanced forward toward Wisp. Sabot physically loomed over the heroine, and she could feel her skin prickling from the heat from her strike radiating off the red-hot faceplate. "I hope you and your friend have had your tetanus shots recently." The voice growled from behind the glowing armor. A savage gesture ripped out the metal cabling that lined the ships' walkways as a guardrail in sinious waves, looking almost alive as the metal bender exerted his will upon it. One end cracked as the tip went broke the sound barrier, giving Myrmidon enough warning to move out of its way as it splintered a nearby set of pallets. The other end slammed into the ground at Wisps' feet, and worked its way around her like the coils of a constrictor. A heartbeat later they pulled taut, trying to suborn the heroine to the deck. "Now stay."
  18. This is his Snare power. Since he could draw a line between Wisp and Myrmidon (even if he's flying) he could hit both of us at once since it is area shapeable. Ideally, his goal was to snare both characters and then focus on us one at a time. Since it doesn't inflict damage, evasion isn't much help. That's the bad news. Good news is that Wisp didn't fail by 5+ so she is only entangled. (-2 attack and defense rolls, -4 dex, and she's anchored to the deck and can't move from that spot.) Honestly, I don't know how that works with teleport exactly, so I'll ask one of the refs to see if you can bust out that way. Okay, so it looks like this 33 Myr - Uninjured, 2 HP 24 Wisp - Entangled, 4 HP 19 Sabot - Bruised x2 Myrs turn he forms his Nanoblade for his standard. Damage 5 (Extras: Penetrating 10 [DMG 20] +1; PFs: Improved Critical 2 [18-20], Improved Sunder, Mighty) And then he attempts to Fast Tricks Sabot, goading him into attacking him as he's nearby an overhead shipping container held by a crane. Using his skill mastery That's DC 31 check total. 1d20+18=20. Failed. Sabot is unaware of the danger.
  19. While Blodeuwedd was talking to the female clone, who he knew were created in an attempt to see if SHADOW could endow them with magic to make artificial Valkyries, he himself had an eye on the other clone and the chimera. He had checked the pilfered blaster pistol when he had acquired it from the real Officer Flay and now that he was sure that it was operational, was ready to use it if things went FUBAR. When they were granted elevator access, he once again was glad that his erstwhile brothers and sisters typically had the foresight and personal initiative of a cinder block. But still something felt off, and he was rewarded with his rampant paranoia when a password was mentioned. One that they did not have and could not fake. Each base set their own passwords and though it amused the clone that this Burkehardts' security was lax not to change it everyday it still remained a problem. Myrmidon nodded in affirmation of the salute and followed Blodeuwedd into the elevator where he pressed the ornate button on the bottom. As soon as the door closed he talked to his companion. << Passwords are randomly chosen by the base commander from a computer generated list and typically changed daily. Getting past with any degree of subtlety might prove a significant challenge." >>
  20. For a moment John looked older and weary as he acknowledged Subitos' statement while glancing over the large tome. "True. I have enough enemies as it is." "Hmm. I think I disagree to some extent with that assessment. Lady Liberty tends to fall into a very grey area of understanding. Is she the envoy of the United States of America or physical avatar of the concept of freedom? You would have to ask her which it is, but it might be a little from both. Using the Germanys' envoy as an example again: the Shieldmaiden herself oversees threats to her citizens and lands and does not care about the politics so long as Germany remains Germany, and will even go against the government in the situation that it is knowingly harming its citizens." He leaned forward, "Though it does make sense that envoys look for like minded individuals. One, it is easier to work with someone who shares your ideals. Two, it might be that it is easier for them to grant powers that way. Third, and I do not mean this negatively, is that the envoy has a lesser chance of an unsuitable officeholder." John gesticulated with one hand idly. "The Shieldmaiden informed me that she usually chose public servants like police officers, paramedics, and the like as her avatar since they like her are protectors. Otherwise, if she chose someone like say, me, she could feasibly taint her essence since the bond goes both ways."
  21. Sabot uses his Fast Startle w/ Skill Mastery on Wisp, so I'll need a Sense Motive check on that. The DC is 28. Then seeing as he can hit both Wisp and Myr with one of his powers, he will attempt to do so. 1d20+12=15 That doesn't hit Myr, but if it does hit Wisp I'll need her to roll a Reflex with a DC of 22 to beat.
  22. Allrighty! First up the sense motive check - 1d20+15=20 - Success! He's flatfooted. Tough Save - 1d20+11=29 - He picks up another bruise.
  23. Myr rocketed out of the water dragging the two men who were unfortunate enough to fall overboard in each hand before unceremoniously dropping them on the deck. The sound of jetwash heralded Myrmidons' arrival on the battlefield, as he hovered slightly above and behind his teammate. Frowning underneath his mask as his somewhat groggy looking teammate and noting the shotgun like patten of holes in the bulkhead behind her, the best course of action was to get her back in the game. While he did not consider himself to be the leader of the Irregulars (that title was gladly deferred to Crow), the others did tend to listen when he gave orders in the field. << Wisp, I am on your six. Wake up and shake it off. >>
  24. Myr now can enter the fray, lets see where he'll act next round. Init - 1d20+21=33 Okay, so it looks like this 33 Myr - Uninjured, 3 HP 24 Wisp - Dazed, 4 HP 19 Sabot - Bruised x1 Since Myr is up, He'll move into hovering overhead with his flight armor, and use his standard to expend a HP to activate leadership and remove dazed from Wisp. I''l get an IC post up shortly, and Wisp will be free to act.
  25. GM "Girlie, being a steel monkey was how I got this little condition of mine. You think the union was happy that one man was able to put a score of men out a of job?" Sabot was about to continue when Wisps blast hit him center mass causing the armored figure looked down at the marred finish and back to the white-haired heroine. "No dice, little lady. Sorry it came to this." With a sweeping gesture, a length of chain zoomed over to float in front of him whereupon the links snapped as it was reconfigured into a cylindrical mass of ball-bearings. Sabot leveled a closed fist at Wisp, and then opened his hand as if mimicking an explosion. The improvised grapeshot accelerated, slamming into the heroine and the bulkhead behind her with a force of a cannon.
