  1. Well, I'm back and looking to play. I'd like to get Dark Star back into RPing. A good hook: he just had a baby girl (and posted it on the MOON!) and is happy to share/chat about that! Or could be just meeting heroes... Any takers? Let me know!
  2. Dark Star Same Old, Same Old The Great Escape Made 1 News post Torque Supersonic, Superhuman, Supernatural The New Batch (was sure if I should list this but *shrug*) I also went through the Claremont Wiki Page and did a significant update to the PC and NPC sections to reflect some changes. The sub pages (teams) have also been updated appropriately. More (and likely bigger) changes are coming next month.
  3. The taxi pulled up outside the school gates and a young man exits, dragging with him a rather small duffel bag. In his mid to upper teens, he's a handsome young man but nothing too exceptional to look at really. Dressed in plain tan slacks and long sleeved button shirt, the clothes are obviously fairly new or have been pressed recently; the pants have fresh crease lines in them. He looks pretty neat and tidy really as he pays the driver and lifts the bag. His curious gaze sweeps over the area as he starts walking. He pulls a sheaf of papers from his bag, holding them in his other hand without glancing at them. He turns and heads for the administration building, despite never having been here before as his eyes continue to observer the area with a deep curiosity.

  5. Derrick marveled at the tiny figure in his arms, just looking on as he felt ready to burst, while Stesha was getting cleaned up. His daughter. In all his years of travel and the sights he'd seen, only one sight could even compare to the little bundle of joy and that was his wife. He had never once imagined having anyone in his life like Stesha, of being married to a wonderful woman. Nor had he ever dreamed of being so lucky as have daughter. The universe had conspired to bless him, doubly so, with such wonders as the two most important woman in the universe. Later, even without holding his daughter, he stood by and still marveled at the two of them lying together. He stood and nodded to the others as they entered, a huge smile plastered unknowingly along his normally calm and relaxed face. Even if he lived to be a thousand, ten thousand, forever, it didn't matter. This was a day he would never, ever forget and cherish for eternity.
  6. (Post is for Dark Star…sort of) An regular old elementary school somewhere in the far future The male teacher circled the answer to the problem on the board with a nod. “Very good,†he said with a smile as he turned around to address the class of children somewhere around 10 or so in age. He was of indeterminate age really; he looked young but seemed to carry quite a bit of wisdom and history in those eyes. “Excellent work. Alright, now please remember, your test on non-Euclidean geometry is tomorrow. Make sure you review your notes and pay special attention to those formulas,†he said. He glanced up at the clock, noting there was less than 10 minutes left until the end of the day. He ’hmmed’ to himself a moment, debating what to cover in the last few minutes. One of the students, raised her hand and spoke up. “Could you tell us some more about the twenty-first century heroes? The ones you were talking about in Social Studies today,†she quickly asked, knowing the teacher loved the subject almost as much as he did science and math. The teacher chuckled a moment before nodding. “Oh, all right. But all of you better work extra hard for this test,†he admonished. “Hmm, let’s see. The Freedom League, yes that’s a good place to start,†he said half to himself. “As I mentioned, these were the men and women, and other of course, that put themselves on the line to defend the world against all threats. They were the greatest heroes of the age,†he said almost fondly. “I’ve told you all about the original members like Captain Thunder, Daedalus, and the Centurian of course. But there were others that came after just as worth to proudly bear the honor of being a member in the Freedom League.†He stood, looking at the class, a half smile on his face as he continued. “There was the Freedom Angel, Doctor Archeville, and Dark Star as I’m sure you’re aware. But the most special of all was Fleur de Joie,†he said, voice almost wistful. “She was the most amazing woman. She could stand side by side some of the most powerful being in history, and did! She took on dangers and villains that threatened to destroy the world or even to harm a single innocent life without a second thought to herself. Her bravery and depth of character were phenomenal to behold. But she was more than just a tough woman facing impossible odds with miraculous fortitude. She was also a brilliant woman and biologist in her own right. She knew more about plants, animals, even on how the world itself worked, than anyone. Incredibly gifted,†he said with a nod. He got a sort of faraway look in his eyes for a moment. “But those tales, those actions don’t tell it all of course. None mentioned who she was inside, as a woman. She had beauty and grace that could not be compared or measured. And her heart, “ he said shaking his head in wonder, “her heart was filled with caring and love for everyone. She was always there to listen and to help, even with the little troubles people had. She spent her off time beautifying the cities, the parks and gardens just to bring life and color and joy into people’s lives. She was the most amazing woman,†he said once more, with a little sigh. "She and Dark Star were married you, know," he said as an aside. "Together they faced down threats from countless villains, invasions from other worlds not to mention other dimensions. Together they were an unmatched pair. Their feelings for one another outshone their deeds, but not by much," he added with a chuckle. "For centuries the two of them travel everywhere, an inseparable pair fighting for others," he trailed off, his voice thoughtful. "They weren't always with each other of course. She was the 'mother or leader' of her own planet. It kept her quite busy." "And Dark Star...well, he was what you could call overly dedicated and has a strong work ethic. He never stayed in any one system or planet for long unless She was there. He traveled the many galaxies, always there to help. He fought the World Eater many times, saved countless lives over and over. Fighting off invasions was like a hobby to him for a while there. But he never quit no matter what. Never bent his moral compass one iota...which caused him no end of grief at times. Still, despite some people's problems with his moral compass, he could always be counted on to be there someone when he was needed." "He even died a few times you know. More than a few tried to take his power or just obliterate him. Some even succeeded; you can't fight the entire universe's evils without cost you know. But few every really understood what Dark Star was. He just kept coming back as determined as ever, sometimes barely a day later." A different child raised their hand and spoke up as he finished. “But…whatever happened to her? We know Dark Star is still out there somewhere but where is she?,†the kid asked eagerly. Before the teacher could answer, the chime sounded signaling the period’s end. He smiled at them, a little melancholy for a moment before making it his normal happy one. “Ah well, time is up. I will see you all tomorrow. Don’t forget your homework on renewable energy sources and study for that test,†he said quickly as they students grabbed their things and quickly headed out. He headed back to his desk, as the kids headed out. He smiled and waved goodbye to several amid calls of “See you tomorrow Mr. Lumins!†He spend a little while grading a few papers until the building grew quiet and everyone was gone. Safe and alone, he gestured and a small portal opened up. A moment later, the classroom was empty.
  7. June 3rd, 2011 For several hours, many large ‘lines’ of a vibrant green color began to appear on the moon. They slowly stretched and increased in size, soon covering almost the entire visible surface of the moon. All told, the green writings take several hours to finish appearing. And when it was done, they spelled out a strange message. IT’S A GIRL! Scientists around the world, anyone with any type of decent telescope were able to determine the intergalactic hero, Dark Star, was responsible for the writing. The ‘writings’ seems to be made of some massive green luminescent crystal. Unfortunately, within a month the same hero dismantled the sign and removed the crystals to wherever it was they came from before scientists could acquire any for study. The moon was returned to its original face a month later.
  8. Time seems to stretch out. Stesha's surprising strong crushing grip holding his hand tightly went almost entirely unnoticed as he marveled at the miracle before him. "Just a bit more love, just a bit more. Push," he repeated over and over gently, supporting her as he could. His eyes were wide, amazed, as their baby came into this world. "She's so beautiful," he says softly to Stesha as they were presented with their daughter. "No love, you do amazing work," he countered happily. "She is amazing," he said, letting his voice, heavy with emotion, trail off.
  9. Derrick, as Dark Star, had seen and experienced quite a few things over the last few decades. None of them had prepared himself for today though. He was doing his best to help but... He was honestly happy to not be noticed at the moment. His wife was rather...touchy at the moment and there wasn't much he could do to help really. He tried not to flinch when Stesha snapped at Jill. He was not foolish enough to say anything however. He just accepted the water, took a sip and nodding in thanks. He kept his words to simple encouragements. He was half-temped to go find out what the noise and bees were about but she wanted him here so he wasn't going anywhere unless she told him too. "I am certain that everything is fine dear. Not long now," he said reassuringly, fervently hoping it was true.
  10. Ok, made the various edits/changed. Got rid of enhanced skills/senses and used the pts elsewhere. That complication is meant to reflect that, even if he doesn't realize it, he learned to fight and destroy the enemy. Killing happened in war. Prisoners weren't really something to consider. It was to reflect how he approaches a fight; his personality changes a bit. I adjusted the text a bit to hopefully reflect that some.
  11. Derrick was not particularly helpful with the tea. Or the hot water. Or, well, anything really. As it was, they were lucky he didn't spill scalding hot water on people in his distraction. He might have said he was confident that everything was alright, but it didn't stop him from obsessing over it. Out here, he just didn't know what to do with himself and it was not something he was familiar or comfortable with. Finally though, he was called back inside. Inside, there wasn't exactly a lot for him to do. The real 'work' was well out of his hands. But here at least, he could hold his wife, be by her side and hold her. That he could do quite well and happily too.
  12. Ok I thought I did pay for the Restricted use x2 thing? Was the first 2pts listed under the suit expenditures. Did I not do that right? EDIT: was told what I did wrong; shifted some points around. should be ok now. Think I fixed the Boldings. Adjusted the totals for Senses and Immunity and made adjustments for the main and secondary systems. Tertiary system stuff. -> mainly I was just using what I've seen (and done myself) before in other sheets. Healing: the idea was to make it hard to use it in combat but that the suit could fix him completely given enough time. Still, to make it easier on all, I removed the flaw as well as the persistent feat. I changed the points around in the sensor boosting. I also added Library and Computer Feats to finish rounding it out.
  13. Gah...I hadn't expected you to reply so fast. I just posted it last night (well 1am anyway) to get it up there. My brain was fading. I'll make the edits this afternoon when I get home!
  14. Player Name: Cyroa Character Name: Torque Power Level: PL 12 (180/184pp) Trade-Offs: -3 Attack / +3 Damage, -3 Defense / +3 Toughness Unspent PP: 4 Progress To Gold Status: 4/90 (Silver Status earned with Dark Star) In Brief: Powersuit genius / on-the-run freedom fighter Alternate Identities: Cole ‘Jefferson’ Identity: Secret (he has no real identity here; just a fake one provided for him) Birthplace: unknown Occupation: Student, inventor Affiliations: Claremont Academy Family: unknown Age: Appearance: 16 or so; actually 66 (though unknown) Apparent Age: 16 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5’10†Weight: 160lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Blond Description: Cole is a young man, about 16 years old or so. Standing a couple inches shy of 6 feet, he is a handsome youth. With short dirty-blond hair and blue eyes, he is a noticeable fellow. He dresses in simple sneakers, jeans and t-shirts. Power Descriptions: (if applicable) The suit stands roughly 6’ tall. It is black or perhaps a dark blue. It appears to be completely seamless. There is a set of slightly glowing ‘lines’ that run up one side of the suit and down there other. The color of that often changes, depending on the energy being used. The helmet is totally dark, not revealing his face beneath, though the ‘piping’ makes a circuit up through his helmet as well. History: Before a year ago, nothing is known of the young man named Cole. There are no records of him anywhere. And given how he was found, that is not surprising. Roughly a year ago in an otherwise peaceful park, a sudden dark rip/tear/portal appeared in the air, dozens of feet up. Within moments of it creation, from inside there was a massive explosion. A huge gout of flame, some debris and a large battlesuit was hurled through to liter the grass. The portal closed almost immediately. The large suit has obviously been through a battle, even if the explosion of its arrival hadn’t been enough of a clue. Even as people looked on the 12’ suit began to ‘melt’ or fade away, leaving a human sized figure in a smaller version of the suit. The figure didn’t stir or twitch as authorities quickly came to take care of the situation. As they bundled him up, the smaller suit began to slide/fade away, leaving a battered teenager behind. As happens in situations like these, the newcomer was shuffled off to spend some time in quarantine and testing under government review and observation. When he awoke, he could barely recall anything. He knew the name ‘Cole’; presumably that was his own name. Beyond that, he was practically a completely blank. Some simple testing indicated a phenomenal intelligence and an extensive array of knowledge. He also possessed a surprising degree of combat training as well as tactical planning from what could be determined. Something just as, if not more, worrisome to the government employees was his proclivity for designing and creating inventions that defied logic. They never were able to figure out his ‘suit’ but they learned quite a bit beyond that. He clearly had knowledge of and abilities putting him in line with various heroes or villains in the world. They held him for quite some time, studying both him and his devices. Eventually however, he was released to Claremont School due to his not being of age yet. They provided him with a set of identifications and background to help his assimilation into society as well as some admonishments that they would be watching him (which he promptly ignored). Still, he was free now, even if he had no clue to who he was or a direction for himself. Personality & Motivation: As a young man, Cole is a curious fellow by nature. He always want to learn, to know, to understand more. He is always interested in fiddling with the next project, trying out new ideas. Beyond that, he is generally a very happy and upbeat fellow, looking on the bright side. He might not be the most social of people but that tends to be due to his background and troubles as well as his overdeveloped intellect. He isn’t one to take the lead, socially, preferring to watch and observe rather than directing. Cole does feel a bit lost and out of place at times though; it is more than just not coming from this reality (though that is there as well). The blank in his perfect memory, the occasional flashbacks and nightmares and his…almost cold ruthlessness in a crisis disturb him quite a bit. He’s tried to address those things but has little success so far. Powers & Tactics: Without his armor, he has no real powers beyond his extensive intelligence and ability to create devices. He is fairly ordinary, physically. With his armor, he is a force to be reckoned with. It is adjustable in many way; changing various functions to fit the needs of the situation. Offensively, the suit creates disk that slam and cut into things with remarkable force and even coming around for another pass if they miss. In addition, he is able to charge them with numerous types of energy to be even more effective when needed. Or, if the situation requires it, the suit can greatly enhance his strength for close up melee. His suit is capable of healing his injuries but it takes time and energy for the systems to repair him; not something he is likely to get in the middle of a fight. When a situation starts, his personality becomes harder and less playful. He think nothing of analyzing a situation and shouting out orders, excepting them to be followed ((master plan)). There is no such thing as ‘too much force’ when there is a target to be stopped. He doesn’t really believe in killing but he doesn’t pull his punches. This occasionally leads to some troubles when prisoners are needed to be taken. Complications: Amnesia: Cole has no solid recollection of his past. It is something he finds quite unsettling given his memory. Flashbacks/Nightmares: Cole suffers from occasional, sometimes debilitating, flashbacks of various images (often violent). Often they are so strong that it is hard for him to determine that they are not real. Dangerous Past: He came/escaped from somewhere (likely dangerous). Whatever or wherever it was, it is possible they aren’t going to just let him go. Overwhelming Force: When action starts, he becomes far less concerned with injuring or capturing his opponents. (Note: this isn’t mindless bloodless but how he approaches a threat/opponent. It is a mentality; cold and ruthless; no feelings, pure logic.) Age: Despite intelligence and ability, he is still a teenager with an estimated age of 16 and therefore is barred from a few locations, not to mention the stereotyping. Secret Id:: While he doesn't have much of an Id to hide, the school does. Abilities: 2 + 2 + 2 + 12 + 2 + 0 = 20PP STR 12 / 38 (+1/+14) DEX 12 (+1) CON 12 / 28 (+1/+9) INT 22 / 32 (+6/+11) WIS 12 / 22 (+1/+6) CHA: 10 (+0) Combat: 6 + 6 = 12PP Init: +6/+11 ATK: +3 (+9 Melee/+9 Blast) Grapple: +10/+28 DEF: +9 (base 3, Dodge Focus 6), +1 flat-footed Knockback: -10 normal/cloaked, -13 armored; -0 out of armor Saving Throws: 0 + 3 + 4 = 7PP TOU +15 (Imp 6), +15 (Imp 12) armored mode; +1 out of suit FORT +1/+9 (+1/+9 Con) REF +5 (+2 Dex, +3) WILL +5/+10 (+1/+6 Wis, +4) Skills: 52R = 13PP Computers 4 (+10/+15) Craft (Chemical) 4 (+10/+15) Craft (Electronic) 4 (+10/+15) Craft (Mechanical) 4 (+10/+15) Disable Device 4 (+10/+15) Investigate 2 (+8/+13) Knowledge (Earth Sciences) 4 (+10/+15) Knowledge (Life Sciences) 4 (+10/+15) Knowledge (Physical Sciences) 4 (+10/+15) Knowledge (Tactics) 4 (+10/+15) Knowledge (Technology) 4 (+10/+15) Medicine 4 (+5/+10) Notice 4 (+5/+10) Stealth 2 (+3) Feats: 20PP Attractive Attack Focus: Melee (6) Dodge Focus (6) Eidetic Memory Improvised tools Inventor Jack-of-All-Trades Master Plan Online Research (can use Computers for Gather Info checks) Speed of Thought (Int for Init) Powers: 98 + 2 + 12 = 112PP Device 24 (Nanite Energy Weave suit; 120 points, Hard to Lose; PF: Restricted x2) [98PP] Communications Systems 3 (6pp; PF: Alternate Power) [7PP] BE: Communication 5 (radio, 5 mile radius; PF: Subtle) {6/6} AP:: Datalink 5 (radio, 10 miles); PF: Subtle) {6/6} Energy System, Primary/Offensive 17 (34 points; PFs: Affects Insubstantial 2, Variable Descriptor 2 [any energy], 2 Alternate Powers) [40PP] BE: Blast 15 (PFs: Accurate x3, Homing x1) {34/34} - Charged Disks AP: Blast 8 (Extras: Area [burst, General], Selective attack) {32/34} - Exploding Energy Disk AP: Enhanced Strength 26 (to 38/+14) and Super-Strength 4 (effective Str 58) {34/34} Energy System, Secondary/Defensive 3 (6 points; PF: 1 Alternate Power) [7PP] BE: Concealment 10 (all senses; Flaws: Blending, Passive; PF: Close Range) {6/6} - Stealth Field AP: Impervious Protection 6 (note: Sustained Active effect) {6/6} - Armor Mode Energy System, Tertiary/Miscellaneous 6 (12 points; PFs: 1 Alternate Powers) [13] BE: Leaping 4 (x25 distance; move action) and Speed 4 (100 mph / 1,000 ft. per move action) and Super-Movement 2 (wall-crawling 2 [full move]) {12/12PP} AP: Teleport 9 (anywhere on Earth; Extra: Accurate; Flaws: Long Range only, Medium [Networks/Electrical Conduit]; PF: Progression [Weight] 3 [1,000 lb. cargo]) {12/12} - Enhanced Constitution 16 (to 28/+9) [16PP] Feature 2 (Computer, Library) [2pp] Immunity 19 (Life Support, mental effects; Flaw: Limited [1/2 effect] on mental effects) [14PP] Protection 6 (Extra: Impervious) [12PP] Regeneration 2 (Bruised 1 [standard action], Injured 1 [20 minutes]) [2] Super-Senses 7 (darkvision [enhancement], infravision, radar [enhancement]) [7PP] Suit: 7+40+7+13+16+2+14+12+2+7= 120/120 Quickness x4 (x25; Flaw: Limited [Mental only]) [2] Super Brain 5 (10pp; PFs: Alternate Power x2) [12] BE: Enhanced Int 10 (to 32/+11) {10/10} AP: Enhanced Wis 10 (to 22/+6) {10/10} AP: Comprehend 4 (codes, languages 3 [understand all, speak any, read/write]) {8/10} Drawbacks: (-4) = -4PP Normal Identity (Full round to change/activate suit) [4] DC Block: ATTACK RANGE SAVE EFFECT Punch/Kick Melee DC 29 Toughness Physical Damage Disk 150 ft DC 30 Toughness Physical Damage with Variable Energy type optional Explosive Disk 80 ft DC 23 Toughness Physical Damage, Explosive Abilities (20) + Combat (12) + Saving Throws (7) + Skills (13) + Feats (20) + Powers (112) - Drawbacks (-4) = 180/184 Power Points
  15. Derrick nods. "Tea, yes," he says again, almost half to himself. He goes back inside to grab a massive teapot of boiling water and a box of various teas before returning outside once more. "Here's your tea," he says helpfully, not exactly focusing on the drink too well considering he didn't seem to notice he hadn't brought any mugs out. He was not normally so 'out of it' but today was quite a different story honestly. He was lucky he remember to grab the teapot with a pot holder really. In this human guise, he had no protections to speak of. He gave a small shrug of his shoulder and a shake of his head to Angel. "Uh...hmm? Oh, no. Stesha asked me to come out here and make sure everyone was settled. I'm sure she'll call me when she needs me. Tea," he asked holding the scalding teapot towards Angel absently. He might be functioning and processing, but he wasn't doing it well. "Yes...a baby," he says a bit oddly, wistfully in response to Gaian. "Amazing."
  16. Dark Star blinked his white orbs at her. "Right, yes. Human, of course," he said quickly. He concentrated a moment and a moment later Derrick was there. He stepped up to his wife and gives her a very gentle hug and kiss, like he's afraid she might break or something. "I love you very much," he says softly and honestly before stepping back. "And, uh, yes...I'll go make sure everyone is ok. Yes. Right." He nods to his mother in law. "Tea. I can do tea," he says half to himself. He walks into the kitchen area...and a moment later is boiling hot water on every available surface. Maybe someone needs a lot of tea? Or just hot water? Either way, there would be plenty of it shortly. He headed back out to the law a few minutes later. "I have tea brewing. Anyone want any? I am certain everything is going perfectly well," he says without looking over his shoulder. He isn't exactly standing still...or not wringing his hands...or isn't a little pale...or nervous looking. Nope, not at all....
  17. Dark Star barely nodded in acknowledgement to the others with Stesha; the 'rudeness' (for him anyway) was a staggering sign of his distraction. Not that he had anything particular to worry about. He had absolute faith that everything was going to be quite alright. Things always worked out. Of course knowing that and believing it really did nothing for his personal level of agitation. He would have opened a gateway if one hadn't already been made. He quickly ushered everyone though, giving a little telekinetic help here and there. He simply nodded to the sentient robots; such things were not unusual to him. "Of course, of course," he said, still rather distracted. As soon as he could, he wasted no time in scooping up his wife, anyone nearby...well everyone really (he was a bit nervous about all this) and whisked them to the cottage in a blink, moving Stesha to the bed. Dark Star floated there a moment, almost wringing his hands and fidgeting. He might not display such things. "Um...ok....yes, we are all home. Do you need something? Anything? Ah...What do I need to do again?" Despite discussing this numerous times as well as being an intelligent and intellectual fellow, he was having quite a bit of difficulty trying to cobble his thoughts together for this.
  18. A few Edits for Dark Star AAed Adding: Comprehend 3 (speak/understand/read all languages) [6] Buy off his drawback (takes time to power down) for additional 3. should leave me with 3. The long lost (and occasionally missed) history of Dark Star:
  19. Dark Star was, almost perpetually really, busy helping out somewhere or someone. At the moment, he was pulling a regular old fishing ship out of trouble. Giving the giant squid beastie that had attempted to consume the ship a reproaching energy slap had sent it swimming away. He was just about to give the fishermen a leisurely ride home when a call from the woman he'd drop anything for reached him. This was the call he'd been obsessing over for quite some time... Dark Star was not someone who feared anything mind you. But for this he was a bit...jumpy. Without thinking he ripped a hole through space and zipped through, hovering about 100 feet over Stesha's family home...with the fishing troller in tow floating beside him. "Oops," he muttered as there was quite a bit of water splashing down. "I apologize sirs," he said quickly, opening up another portal and dropping it rather quickly into their home at Singapore harbor. He closed the portal even before the splash of water made it a few inches. Without giving them a backwards glance, he powerdove into the home below him without pause. Blathering out a rushed few words and quick explanation, he scooped up his mother-in-law and ripped open another portal. Flashing through to appear on the other side of the portal a mere 50' ahead of his very pregnant wife, he zoomed in with mother-in-law in tow. "Love? Are you alright?! LUGGAGE! I forgot the luggage! Oh fudge! Water? Do we need hot water? Are you cold? How soon? I'm not late am I?" He was sort of spewing out random concerns in his apprehension...completely forgetting the logic, planning and preparation he and his wife had been doing over the past few months now that the moment was upon them.
  20. He smiled a little sheepishly. "Sorry. I do enjoy the food. It's not my fault I don't really need to eat." In truth, neither of them ate much, which had been worked just fine until recently. So many things were in 'flux' nowadays. "I made sure I have a good appetite for tonight though," he said with a happy smile. Spending more time in human form meant less time as Dark Star, meaning he needed to eat a bit more than usual. Totally worth being human however. "Sitcoms hmm? Can't say I watch a lot of TV. Stesha and I have watched many a movie on late nights but I think we've managed to avoid sitcoms. I'll have to take your word for it," he said with a nod.
  21. Derrick took the bottle with a nod and smile. "Pleasure to meet you," he said, closing the door behind the professor. "Yes, she mentioned your other job," he said with a chuckle. "And no, I would never say anything to anyone. I gave been privy to quite a few secrets, identities and otherwise, over time. Your secret is safe with us," he said solemnly. "Nice coat," he said with a little chuckle. "Saves on cleaning as well I'd bet." He looked around their vegetation-laden home with a happy smile. It didn't even seem odd to him anymore; it was just the way it should be. "Stesha is an excellent cook; she certainly knows her spices."
  22. James just nodded. "No problem. Midnight and I can get the crystals. Phalanx is a big hitter; he's needed for moving fast and beat the heck outta ancient space Godzilla or whatever it is." He activated his comm, transferring the information to Persephone so she could get the sensors and transporter ready. He nodded to Trevor before reaching out and resting one hand on the teen's shoulder, teleporting them to the chosen location easily enough. "Rather warm up here," he said idly, not bothered in the least. "Ok, any particular way we need to transport these things or what?" He had no clue on what to do with Daka Crystals. Heck, all he knew was they were valuable and powerful. But he was willing to bet Trevor was clever enough to have a plan for handling them already in mind.
  23. He nodded to Gabriel with a little bow. "Thank you. I don't really require food however. But socializing is something I have been intending to work on so perhaps I will join you sometime." He gave a soft chuckle. "I doubt I will take said breather. While technically I could, and I might even slow things down a little here and there, I would be remiss if I didn't continue. Given that I can cross the galaxy in a blink, distance is not really a factor. I just try to do my best to help is all," he said. He looked over at the technologically oriented hero for a moment before shrugging. "I suppose so, yes. There are quite a few societies that have advanced technologies and I've learned quite a bit. But I wouldn't share such knowledge with anyone on Earth, especially a government or militarily focused group. Nor would those cultures willingly share their technology with anyone on Earth really. And rightly so," he said knowingly.
  24. Derrick smiled and quickly headed down the hall to the bathroom without saying anything. He knew perfectly well everything was already as perfect as it was going to be. But saying something about it instead of doing like he was asked would have been rude. And pointless since she'd have to go check herself anyway. So he simply smiled and went to double check that all was well in the bathroom. He was just returning when the knock sounded. "I believe he's here," he called to Stesha as he detoured to the front. He reached the door and opened it wide for their guest. "Good evening. I'm Derek. Please, come in," he said with a kind smile, sticking his hand out to greet the other man.
  25. He chuckled along with her. "Oh, I'm certain we'll manage somehow." He smiled at her recently returned need to eat. While he didn't need to, he couldn't deny the food smelled delicious. "I look forward to meeting him. He sounds like an interesting fellow. I'm not much of a teacher though. I don't think teaching a part-time class once in a while counts for much," he admitted.
