  1. "Of course. I'd be happy to help." He quirked am eyebrow a bit. He knew the terms of course just not used together. He'd have to do some research later; he made a mental note to get back to it. "Interactive storytelling, jokes and food. Isn't that called improv or something? I believe I read something about comedy clubs like that." He shrugged. "It certainly sounds social, which is always nice. I'm guessing there aren't many people to play it here. Did you play that wherever you're from, before coming here or is it a recent hobby?" He sat back and nodded to the waitress as came over.
  2. Cole frowned in his suit for a brief moment. He couldn't really hit it harder though he supposed he could charge discs; maybe that's what she wanted. Selecting a couple different options, he started throwing disks at the wall, one after another. Each was charge differently, from UV light to to electricity to destructive radiation to heat to just pure energy. Each disk flew just as true as the ones before it, crashing into the target center and releasing the burst of energy contained within. After throwing the last he stepped back and looked up at the window, head tilted a little quizzically.
  3. "I've played some of the video games. Some were kind of weird though. Some were fun. They never seemed hard but then I tended to anticipate the plot and what the computer was going to do without too much trouble. Of course I only played against the machine, not people. Never did pen and paper gaming, whatever that is, but I am very good at chess," he said with a nod. "Sounds like fun regardless. Computers are easy, I can help out easily enough." He shrugged. "I need to figure out my class stuff at some point too," he said half to himself. "I already know I can't take regular classes."
  4. "Not a problem. Happy to help, even though I didn't do much." He shrugged one shoulder and absently waved one hand. "You've got nothing to be sorry for. Me either I suppose. Just the way it is really. I understand the why. It sucked, but I still understand it." He looked at her, tilting his head just a tad. "There's never anything wrong with asking is my philosophy. Questions make it easier to learn right? If someone doesn't want to answer, they can just say that," he said with a happy chuckle.
  5. Chuckling, he put his own menu down. "Sounds like you've been busy enough to qualify either way." He shrugged his shoulders. "I like learning I guess. Whatever the topic. Just want, need to know I suppose. I love building things, designing them. Or simply taking them apart and fixing them up again. The bike was just a recent idea. I'd read teenagers need wheels so..." he shrugged again. "Beyond that...I don't know. I've got no memory and was in holding for 10 months before coming here. Still working on the hobby thing I guess," he said with a smile. "What about you? I'm guessing you like writing and drawing."
  6. He powered the bike down, the power cell's hum fading away, as he swung off the bike after her. "Hmm...maybe, sure. That might work. I tend to get more interested in building, I guess. The little things sometimes get forgotten," he chuckled. He looking around the place, curious as to the sights and such "I actually recognize some of these names and events. Not a lot, mind you. My researched into historic events hasn't been too extensive. Have to remedy that," he muttered half to himself. He perused the menu, settling on a good old fashion cheeseburger, Champion-sized. "Uh...why are you on this menu anyway," he said, making sure no one would overhear that.
  7. Cole nodded with a smile. "Quite alright. Everyone just needs to unload or vent now and again. Nothing to worry about." He nodded to her. "Being alone sucks," he said with a firm nod. "I get it, believe me." He scratched the side of his face idly, rubbing at an momentary itch. "I completely understand. I was cooped up for about the last 10 months and I don't recall anything before that. I admit, you definitely have a harder time than I. I was just locked up; you've had to deal with your powers being difficult for you too. You must be pretty strong, internally speaking, to carry the burden well enough that you keep smiling. There's no shame in needing to unload now and again. It's good for you. And I don't mind being here for it in the least," he said with a nod and a chuckle. "If it was just a random occurrence."
  8. He shrugged. "People don't always wear helmets. I've seen the news and movies where people aren't wearing helmets. 'Sides I'm even keeping it close to the speed limit. We're fine. I wouldn't forgot the rules." He shook his head as the they turned and headed off down a new street, the bike providing the directions. "Actually, I haven't. I was planning on it...just haven't got around to it yet, you know? Was just kind of focused on building it up 'till now." Neither of them noticed, the pair of eyes that watched them pull into the parking lot...
  9. Cole glanced over as she suddenly appeared. "A license, yes. A helmet? Seriously? You teleport. I have a insanely advanced suit of power armor. Helmets seem kinda silly, but there's one on the bench next to you if you really feel the need," he said with a chuckle. "Traffic laws? I suppose we could do that," he shrugged, not really concerned. The bike started up with a though, the engine rumbling quietly though the vibrations were there. He gave it a little throttle, easing it out of the garage and down the road. Once on the road, he gunned it a little and the bike took off zipping quickly down the road. The rumble of the engine and the vibrations of power never really changed, indicating the bike wasn't even close to moving at top performance.
  10. "And I you," he said. "I will try to be here but, you know," he said with a shrug. "I will make time tomorrow for the flyovers and helping prepare Sanctuary as well as whatever else is needed." He opened the portal to Prime with a thought and sallied forth. He did want to be there for dinner and snuggling and everything else. But he knew just as well that this was going to be a very rough month.
  11. Derrick smiled happily and paused. "I do hope we do not drive her nuts or resent us," he said worriedly. He only vaguely recalled his young human years but the idea of parents always watching over you was one that anyone who had been young once would find uncomfortable. It spoke volumes about how he viewed the universe that this was something he worried about; not about imminent danger from beyond. "Probably. I want to focus on the moments to come. I certainly do not want her to grow up that fast," he said with a smile. With a sigh, he relaxed his hold. "You are right. I should get back." He reached out and lightly rested a hand on his daughter's green hair before doing something similar to his wife's though he added a kiss to that one. He pulled away and even before he finished the move Dark Star was back.
  12. He held the two most important beings in the universe in his arms quietly for a long moment. He didn't have the same reflections as she did. Every since he had become Dark Star, there was no 'minor' level of powers. "It is different now. Now I have you and Ammy. It is a so much better than it has ever been. And I would not have it any other way now." He kissed her hair and gave her a little squeeze. "We will prevail. We will find a way," he said with utter belief and certainty. Good would prevail. For him, it was the only way. He had to believe, especially now. He couldn't afford doubts, not when his wife and daughter were on the line. "Ammy will grow up here and on Prime. She will have the best of both worlds. And we will worry endlessly over her choices when she gets older," he said with a smile, trying to lighten the mood a tiny bit and make Stesha smile.
  13. Cole chuckled wryly. "I'll hook ya up. I got wha'cho need," he said, amused, using a silly accent he'd gotten from the internet. He nodded, pushing back from the bench. "Works for me. The bike will have the directions," he said as he stood up. "Didn't know your powers were metabolism based. Guessing that you use them a lot too," he said with a grin. "I certainly would if I could." He moved over and fully pulled the tarp off the bike. "So, wanna go for a ride?," he asked as he seated himself on the bike with a smile.
  14. Cole looked at the drawing with interested nod. "That looks fairly doable actually. You could use a couple different emitters, here and here and here," he said pointing. "Or you could actually have multiple generators, here, here and here," he said musing aloud. "This for a story or something you actually want?," he asked curiously. He shook his head in a negative way. "Not a clue. I've been out of a quarantine for a whopping month and barely left the campus since then. You tell me, what's good here?"

    City of Heroes

got 2 there: Blue Torque (is about 31st Defender as of this date) and Dark`Starr (only lvl 2 as haven't played him yet) I'm up for the group...but have no clue on names.
  16. Dark Star subsumed his energy, assuming the human form. He opened his arms as he stepped forward to pull his wife into an embrace. "For you, anything," he said softly. "Temporary housing and supplies should be easy enough for us to do. And I will make time to do a few fly-over for you whenever you need it. I will not be needed constantly just yet." He gently kissed her hair. "We will get through this."
  17. He nodded as she started coming up with ideas, quirking a smile. "Hmm, my suit?" He tried to keep the explanation short and simple; everyone seemed to give him odd looks (well almost everyone) when he did the detailed explanation. "It's actually an high frequency variable energy enhanced project woven though a set of energized as well as energy based nanites," he said easily. "The energy matrix is so 'dense' or 'thick' that it appears to be and functions as solid material. Hmm, I suppose hard light projection might a way of looking at it, despite it not being a photonic source of energy," said Cole, qualifying it a bit. "It isn't really a force field in the traditional sense," he said shrugging on shoulder. At the sound of his stomach rumbling, it occurred to him it had been some time since he'd eaten. "You want to go grab something to eat? I need take take the bike out anyway," he offered.
  18. Cole nodded as Ms. A's melodious tone came over the speaker. He turned to look at the 'target', little more than a circle on the far wall. It seemed easy enough. He took a final moment to glance over the reading in his displays to make sure everything was optimal and that he wasn't missing anything. He keyed up the combat mode and took a breath to relax. He'd had to do this several times for the government folks; no big deal. He half opened his hand and energy flowed down from the suit. A faintly glowing throwing ring was quickly formed. Cole didn't bother charging it with any energy; simple impact was enough here. With a flick of his wrist, he sent it flashing down the room to hit the target dead center where the disk exploded in a small burst as it broke down, task complete. "Was that ok?"
  19. Dark Star nodded. It certainly was a viable option and, if things did being to go poorly, it would allow many people (no pun intended) sanctuary in this chaos. "It is certainly a good possibility. If things go poorly, a refuge would be welcome. We'd have to have some way to create a portal or ferry people here if you or I are busy though...and someone to look after Ammy too. I certainly am not comfortable bringing her out of Sanctuary during all this," he said. "As for the League, I think that would be a safe bet. They are still gathering the higher members together. Like I said, it has only been a couple hours since I found out. But I think this safely qualifies as something the entire League, as well as every capable hero out there, will need to mobilize for. Both fighting out there and on Earth itself. There will be troubles in abundance," he said regretfully.
  20. Count me in obviously!!! Dark Star is there (guess Lab and League). Torque as well (probably Claremont 2? Maybe 1? *shrug*). I can do some GMing if needed as well. No preference.
  21. placeholder (will fill in later as have time) Emissary of Power/Monoc Securities Agent/Operative
  22. He frowned a bit; well would have if he had a face. "Well, it has been turned aside a couple times that I was there and the cost was high each time. And while I was not there for the others, I know it has been tried many times to little success. We will find a way, I am certain." He was certain; he had to be. He shook his head. "Even with hosts of ships, evacuations on a planetary scale are difficult. Even with my creating portals...it is not easy." He shook his head. "I could search for systems in the Milky Way that have ideal planets and have not already been colonized...but I cannot think of any that fit the bill off the top of my head. And I will be needed here I believe." He sighed. "As I said, time is short."
  23. "We are going to stop her. Somehow, we will." He was confident of that. The real question was what the cost would be; if all else failed, he had an idea or two that might work but the cost would be very very high on personal level. A thought for later perhaps. "The combined heroes will find a way to change her course, I am certain. However, there are going to be quite a few scared people once this comes out. And...perhaps some irrational people," he said (ie villains), "will use this as a time to grab power. It is going to be a busy month," he finished, as if their month as new parents wasn't busy enough!
  24. Dark Star took a moment to settle down, gather his thoughts and explain. "Not 'a' but 'the'. The Gorgon I refer to is a planet sized, well, mess of snakes is almost an apt description. 'She' effectively destroys and occasionally consumes entire planets, roaming the galaxy. I had encountered her several times in the past. At best, I and entire armadas have managed to change her course...but never stopped her. Most civilizations flee when they learn of her approach, and wisely so. I've helped evacuate several worlds over the years." He shook his head. "Anyway, I was helping some other heroes out, transporting mainly, when they discovered some information about a planet 'killer'. I guessed at what it was and went to coordinates... And near as I can figure, the Gorgon will reach Earth in approximately 1 month. And that's assuming she stops at the two systems between us and her and 'preserves' or eats them. Time is rather short obviously. I needed to tell you as soon as I could."
  25. Dark Star broke away as soon as he could. But there were quite a few briefings to do, well present really. As one of the foremost experts, and he used that term loosely, he'd had to explain what he knew several times over. But as soon as he could, he had something very important to do. He flew through the portal to their home on Sanctuary. Once his senses picked up where she was, he flew directly to her not wasting a moment. Pulling to a stop, he settled to stand before her. He didn't waste time with his normal happy greeting upon seeing her. "Stesha, we have a problem. It seems that the planet eater, Gorgon, is heading in the direction of Earth. 'She' will be there in roughly one month. This is going to be a massive effort amongst the world's heroes but...I needed to tell you. I just left a briefing; first moment I could get away really."
