  1. "Oh, gosh no. I've been here for a few months. I haven't seen you around either, so maybe both of our egos are fit to go supernova. I actually don't really do that much outside of class- except maybe go home and work on this hot rod I've been souping up. That's kind of my thing, mechanics. They sort of come naturally to me. What exactly is there to do around Claremont?" She took a sip of her milk, and smiled at him. He was cute.
  2. Janis calmed down a little bit. "My name's Janis. Janis Jacobson. I'm sorry about doing the whole, you know, fan thing. I always get that way when I meet someone famous. I think I'd like a chance to reintroduce myself, if that's okay." She cleared her throat. "Ahem. My name is Janis Jacobson. I own all of Octopus Dropkick's albums. Want to hang out sometime, at a time that's convenient for you?"
  3. Janis had her tray, and was walking to take a seat, when a familiar face caught her eye. She stopped, a few people bumping into her and grumbling. Was that...couldn't be. She walked slowly around to get a better look at his face. "OH. MY. FRIGGIN'. GOD." she said. Janis scrambled to sit across from Warren, the lead guitarist from Octopus Dropkick! Janis, who was usually pretty easygoing, went into hyperactive mode. "Oh my God it's Warren, where's your guitar, how do you like Claremont, we should totally hang out, hi!" She sat her lunch down, and took a bite of her burger. "I mean. What's up?"
  4. "I think so." said one of the roadies, and he waved his fellow roadies to look backstage. On stage, Guitarmageddon cracked his knuckles. Estelle got a better look at his guitar; it was too heavily modified for the type to be noticeable. The body of the guitar had been painted with images of screaming and laughing demons, and red-skinned imps climbed the neck. The guitarist strummed, and the ground shook beneath him. "ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?!?!" he shouted, his voice climbing several octaves. His fingers, which resembled pale spiders than hands, sped along the neck of the guitar, skillfully playing arpeggios at what appeared to be speed beyond human skill. It may have been a trick of the eye, but the demons painted on his guitar seemed to bang their heads with the sheer power of the rock. A few lights above the stage blew out, exploding in showers of light and glass. He brought his solo to a screeching peak, and as he hit the high note, everyone who was near the stage felt the deafening noise for moments after. "Beat that." the young man said, crossing his arms. A roadie tossed Estelle a burnt orange Gibson SG. It was time to rock.
  5. Alright, so AA's Rock and Roll Hero gets a +15 to , so he'll a Performance check. The villain rolled a 25 total.

  7. He'll use his Sleeping Powder again. DC 19 Will.
  8. Kid Cthulhu- Eldritch Boogaloo Kingston- Starbucks. 7:04 PM It seemed like it would be just another Friday for Blake. He sighed and sipped his Chai Latte with his free hand, the other texting his girlfriend with the dexterity that only the youthful and technologically-savvy can master. He looked out the window at the evening sky, and the sun setting in the way that could only be described as majestic. The beautiful reds and purples that a summer sunset fell against his eyes, and Blake turned his chair around to glance at the television. A news reporter was giving an unusually boring spiel about weather and the economy, and Blake turned back around, his eyes glazed with boredom. The television screen filled with static, and the barista went over with the remote and tried to adjust it. “People of Earth, attend!†A figure in a labcoat- oddly familiar, gave a speech on how he would recreate society and better the world. What exactly the figure was didn’t escape him- it was a Deep One, the race of Atlanteans corrupted by evil sorcery. “Looks like this is right up my alley.†Blake thought, and he smirked to himself as he speedily ran to a bathroom, and unfolded his costume. Within a minute, he had his suit and robes on, and he adjusted his tie in the mirror. A balding man walked into the restroom, and Blake asked him “Does the tie look okay?†The man, confused, nodded, and Blake offered him thanks and disappeared. He was on the move, his shoes flashing with magic power as he teleported from one roof to the next. Blake could almost smell the dark sorcery- it came from the bay in South Freedom. It was odd to him- to have his magical senses be so acute. To have the ability to find magic where it’s being used is one thing, but to be able to nearly smell the fell sorcery put Blake a little on edge. He leapt from a roof, teleporting in mid-jump to the roof across the street from it. His Converses squeaked against the tar of the roofs between jumps, and a bead of sweat fell from Blake’s forehead. “Why do I feel compelled towards them? I know it’s my duty, and of course I need to help out, but it’s almost like a magnet is pulling me towards them.†Blake took the next leap, and an intense agony in his head caused him to miss the next jump and misjudge how far he needed to teleport. A scream barely escaped his lips before he fell onto a pile of garbage bags. He staggered to his feet, clutching his head as psychic waves of nausea and agony threatened to destroy his grip on reality. A vision of the dead walking, grey skin stretched over bones, and then they all flew together; a terrible monster being formed in the North Bay. Blake felt his hands reach into the air, and his back arched painfully. His eyes popped open, but his mind was in another place altogether. It wasn’t an unfamiliar sensation, being detached from one’s own body. It had happened once before. Blake felt himself floating in a space which felt like it went on forever. He felt vulnerable, and wary of what was about to happen. “What do you want from me? You took your power back, you bastard!†He felt his arms and legs being bound by slimy tentacles, and he resisted, even though he knew it was useless to do so. The creature spoke, in a voice that made Blake’s mind hurt. “You will be used. Weapon.†Blake thrashed his arms and legs frantically. “No! NO, GODDAMN IT! I WON’T BE USED AGAINST MY FRIENDS!†His mind struggled against the tide of terrible eldritch power. Thoughts raced through his head. What do you think you could do with this power? Why would you want to save people when true power is just at your fingertips? You could be a ruler, a god among men. No one would have the power to stop you. Blake looked down at his arm, and his body began to transform, becoming something beyond imagination and horrid to behold. He screamed, his willpower pushing against The Unspeakable One. “NO! YOU WON’T TAKE ME AGAIN!†He awoke on his knees, hands in front of him. Blake blinked, and stood up. His knees gave way, and he collapsed again, and panted heavily. Blake stood up, supporting his weight with the wall. He looked at his arm, and saw the familiar green skin and a rash of scales. He flexed his back muscles, and felt the scales adjust. He had beaten The Unspeakable One, but his power had taken him once again. Blake’s eyes fell to the sky, which was growing dark; a storm brewing at the bay. He held out his hand, and ignited the eldritch powers that flowed through him once more. The otherworldly fire sprang to his fingertips, cold to the touch. Blake stood upright, and flexed his back. A pair of monstrous wrings sprung from his back, as if they had been waiting there for a long time. He looked to the North Bay, and ran towards the street. His wings extended, and carried him closer to the harbor. Kid Cthulhu was back once again, and he had a job to do.
  9. Mad Dog will roll to perform the surgery. He rolled a 30. Rockin'. Just to be sure, I'll wait for your response on here, Troll, to see how the surgery went.
  10. Blake's leg was nearly taken off by the droog's stick- he was hiding behind the wall nearest the young man. He took a peek around the corner, and saw him shouting and cursing his name. "Immature asshole..." He teleported out back into the hallway, and made sure he had a clean line of sight. He grabbed a handful of his magic sleeping powder, and started running towards the droog. "Like I said, don't mess with a magician, asshole!" Blake landed in front of the droog, and hurled the dust right into his face.
  11. Blake will get a surprise attack against the droog and use his TK Ring. And not bad! He rolls a 23. I'd assume that hits, and that's a DC 25 Toughness for our bratchny droog.
  12. Zap let go of the machine, her hands still crackling with the electrical power. "That's probably a good idea, Jubatus. We'll just need to sit back and see if it works." She kept her hands to herself as she walked to the front with Jubatus, as if afraid if she touched anything it might end up in another dimension. "So how certain are we that this'll work, anyway? I'm not nervous or anything- as a matter of fact, I'm glad to be used as a power source, but do we know this will take us home?" She stopped talking, because she realized how much she babbled when she was nervous. "...sorry."
  13. Mad Dog will be in the center of town fighting Deep Ones in hand-to-hand combat, and I'll think up something tomorrow for Warlock.
  14. Blake rolls to one side, and manages to avoid most of the hit, taking a black eye in the process. Still full of energy, Blake leapt to his feet. He looked a mess- he had one black eye, and a small rivulet of blood flowed from one side of his mouth. He smiled widely at the droog, and popped off the cork stopper on one of his potions. "Come on, dude. Do you really think the sleeping dust was the only trick I had up my sleeve?" After taking a long swig of the brew, he wipes the blood off of the corner of his mouth. The discoloration of his black eye started to fade away, and Blake was soon back to his normal condition. "Winning, duh!" Blake said before teleporting into the next room, well out of sight of the violent droog.
  15. Blake rolls a 25...so he's Stunned and takes another Bruise. Blake will spend a HP to remove his Stunned condition. As his Standard Action, Blake will take a swig of his Healing Potion. I rerolled to make it fair, but Blake rolls far over what he needed to, and heals himself completely. For his Move Action, he'll teleport out of the droogie's line of sight.
  16. Dok! Would this be a perfect time for Warlock getting his Cthulhu powers back?
  17. Player Name: Lone Star Character Name: Kid Cthulhu Power Level: 11 (161/161PP) Trade-Offs: +0 Attack / +0 Damage, -2 Defense / +2 Toughness Unspent PP: 0 Progress To Bronze Status: 0/30 In Brief: Kid Cthulhu’s back, y’all. Lovecraftian boy wonder. Alternate Identities: Blake Salazar Identity: Public Birthplace: The West End, Freedom City Occupation: Superhero Affiliations: Family: Herbert Salazar (father, deceased), Lavinia Salazar (mother, deceased) Age: 18 Apparent Age: 18 Gender: Male Ethnicity: White Height: 5’10†Weight: 150 Eyes: Green Hair: Brown Description: Blake, in his human form, has managed to keep up his physical training. The formerly thin and skinny Blake is now in excellent shape. His eyes are a calming shade of green, and his brown hair is down to his shoulders. He always has a ready smile on his face and his sharp features show his intellect. As Kid Cthulhu, Blake decided to redesign his costume. When he went as Kid Cthulhu the first time around, his costume was not unlike a standard superheroes' outfit- green and black, with the Elder Sign as his insignia. However, the newest incarnation of his powers has created a new Blake- one that thinks before he acts, and his costume reflects this. He wears a slate-grey cape, and heavy robes of a lighter grey underneath. His physical appearance is essentially the same as his first time as Kid Cthulhu: green skin, tentacles around his face, and scales on his arms and legs. All in all, the new Kid Cthulhu is shocking to behold to anyone he meets, but a welcome burden on the sanity of his old friends. Power Descriptions: Blake’s powers come from a pseudonatural source. His otherworldly fire burns with a strange green glow, and does not require oxygen to activate. His mental abilities warp the air around him, as if it is compensating for the eldritch strangeness Blake gives off. However, when Blake activates the power of "Chaotic Presence", huge glowing runes beyond comprehension appear in the air before him, confusing and baffling anyone who observes them. History: After the events of the July vignette, Blake Salazar found himself with his strange Cthonian powers again. It was a lot easier to adjust with his new powers this time around, and although he enjoyed his brief time as the "normal" wizard Warlock, he took up the mantle of Kid Cthulhu once again with only mild begrudging. Designing a new costume to reflect his attitude towards the change, he found himself happy to be back as the green kid once again. When he went to test his powers, he was glad to find his strange psychic abilities had grown, and he had gained a few new tricks. Personality & Motivation: One thing his journey with mystic forces and unearthly cthonian powers had taught him is to take the punches that life throws you. The formerly insecure and awkward Blake is gone, replaced by a sober and relaxed personality he finds he is much happier with. No matter what form he takes, Blake is committed to protecting Freedom City to otherworly and arcane threats, no matter what the hour. He is still apt to joke around, but he takes his continuing heroic occupation very seriously. Powers & Tactics: Complications: Name: [Description] It's Still Not Easy Being Green: Despite the fact that Kid Cthulhu/Warlock has made a lot of friends in the city, his appearance can still be shocking to behold. Lady's Man...Well...One Lady, Anyway: Blake's is responsible for his girlfriend Ironclad, and will run to her rescue should she need any help. For Magic! Blake also has a responsibility to his fellow magicians, and will answer their calls for help at a moment's notice. Defender Against the Odd: Being one of the few magic-users with otherwordly mystic abilities, he feels an obligation to make sure nothing from another world sneaks into Freedom City. 18. Blake activated his force field a moment too late, taking a good rap on the top of his head, but nothing he couldn't shrug off. "God, dude. If I can say one thing for you, you're persistent. If I could say a second thing, the whole nadsat thing is getting pretty obnoxious. Listen, you're obviously stronger than most. Why would you want this life? Nihilism is such a depressing philosophy." He nervously looked to either side of the young man, and thought against drawing his lightning wand. The mere idea of a priceless artifact being destroyed by him was too much for him to bear. Besides, this guy would go down soon enough. Blake's hands reached for more sleeping powder, and hurled it at the droogie.
  19. Blake rolls a 24 for the save, which isn't bad, so that's another Bruise. Ouch, only a 14. I'll spend a second HP for a reroll. Reroll: He makes a 17 since he rolled under 10, so that's a 26 total. So Warlock will end up taking another Bruise, but he'll try the Sleeping Dust again. Third time's a charm.
  20. Blake took the hit remarkably well, managing to duck past most of the hit. However, his dynamite punch clipped him on his jaw, leaving a mark. "Ow. That hurt, you jerk! Seriously, I told you not to mess with a wizard. If you do that again, you'll wake up with a Mongolian Mambo Curse. I'm serious, man." he said, almost laughing. As much as he enjoyed taking a vacation, he enjoyed fighting crime. There would be some serious explaining to do when he got back to the hotel, but he fought for a worthy cause. Blake whipped another handful of the magic sleeping dust at the youth, hoping he took a deep breath of it.
  21. Blake rolls a 22, so he's got a Bruise. No matter. He'll try to use his Sleeping Powder again. That's another DC 19 Reflex Save, and a DC 19 Will. :argh:
  22. I agree with Aoiroo, I know for a fact that Warlock hasn't met everyone (at least, not in detail), but I thought I'd mention that Warlock will be "recthulhufying", and Evil!Dok will be giving him his Kid Cthulhu form back again.
  23. Warlock would be more than happy to join.
  24. Will save 19 for our ol' Ludwig.
  25. He shook his head as the cocky youth slipped on the tile floor. "I really wish you had just given up, dude. And just because people do something in a movie does not make it a good idea in real life. I'd recommend picking a better role model, to be honest." Blake reached in his pocket and pulled out a handful of his magic sleeping powder. "Now take a nap, droogie." He blew a handful into the young man's face. "And don't mess with a wizard."
