  1. She knew they understood her, the guy she was with at least. The sight of the gang members and girls gave her hope that she was on the right path. None of them were Hannah. Still, she had a possible others to clear out as well. And yet, they weren't finished? Follow the leader of course. Deeper into the rabbit hole. Each new scene something to chew on mentally. A place to find her lost friend. Jessica almost stopped there for a bit to mingle. Make it look real even. Hannah wasn't the ditsy type, she had her hustle going strong. She hoped the best for her friend. That and Jessica wasn't either. Playing along though was wearing on her mind. "Hey," she said, keeping her voice pleasing, still hanging close to her guide's side, "when does this ride stop and the fun stuff start? Then again, maybe you paid him to give me a tour?"
  2. Jessica would usually invoke the spirit by name and let it taint their own name to unrecognizablity. Though she didn't to do it. It was a mnemonic her mother taught her when she was young. That and It looked cool in hero work. But this time she needed secret. Stroking the back of Vic's neck, Jessica let loose the spirit of Pride to be a messenger for her. "Hey Vic," the spirit announced in her mind, "since you and Jessica cannot talk aloud without alerting the Butcher there, I'm here to act courier. I am Jessica's Pride. So, let's see. She wants to do this thing for him. Not because she trusts this guy more than she can throw him, but hell hounds are dangerous and need to be taken care of. She's made up her mind. She's going to do this. She just wants you to keep doing what you're doing. Maybe this Ash person needs to be taken down a notch or two. So, message passed. Don't speak, think. You'll hit her back and I'll relay." Jessica nodded, "Hell hounds," she smirked wickedly, "easily taken care of. Point the way. We'll take care of this." She spoke quietly into Vic's ear, but it was more a show for Morgan to see and hear, "you'll learn something, doll."
  3. It was a little early to be out. Businesses didn't open until 10. Still, Midtown had some nice scenery. Once she had the cash to get a better place, she thought about moving here. It was a pipe dream. Though there was a smell in the air. Smoke. That wasn't natural. And then the fire trucks came barreling by. Well, this looked like some ideal time to help someone. If not she could just be on hand if the officials needed anything. But the call to action would not let her sit back. That big of a building most definitely needed evacuation. Against orders she rushed in. Usually that would lead to trouble, but she was fireproof... mostly. The burning building was smoky. but the fire never bothered her. She was looking to help the trapped and scared to get to safety.
  4. Does he want her to deal with the hell hounds or to deliver more meat to Hector?
  5. OK, so I came in with a character on the last day of January and got one post. Technically January would be my first month here then! I would like to start my first month doing the double post deal February. If January has to be then ignore this!. If I can start in February, cool. My first post was here.
  6. Jessica stopped focusing on the burgers for a while to see what Jack had put in her hand. It was a phone number. Did he not have a cell? The number looked like a cell number. She added a new contact to her ever growing list. She needed a picture though. She leaned back on his chest and looked up. He was a head taller. Something she rarely found in other people. "Smile dear," she said as she massaged behind his neck with her free hand while winking at the camera. It was a good picture. But there would be time for others later. She wrote her number on the piece of paper and stuck it in his coat pocket. "As for desert," she said as she put her phone away. She turned around and looked up at him with a big grin, "let's do that, partner."
  7. Jessica made subtle observations about the walk to the party. She held on to the leader type, with one with the gun. Of course, she thought she was with the more important people. The guy just had his side piece for a few quiet moments. Nothing looked like there were any others here, besides her. She hoped her gut feeling about Hannah was wrong. That her friend wasn't shipped off to some life of servitude or worse. Well, she didn't even want to think of worse. She held to spirits of Pride and Lust before she got here. They always evened each other out, which helped her focus. She didn't understand Chinese, but she could get a hunch about where she was going. "Aren't we all going in? At least you and I," she whispered in her escort's ear, trying to entice him, "I don't know anyone here. You could teach me all I need to know." She pulled back from him and smiled with a wink. Opening the door into the room, she soaked up the sights and sounds. This scene was as carnal as the spirits she besought for her magic. "Well, doesn't this seem homey?"
  8. Can stunted powers come with complications? I want to stunt a power that would let Jessica talk to Vic without Morgan noticing, but it won't be her doing the talking exactly. Say if she chose Pride (the "safest" one), it would be Jessica's Pride relaying messages. And they could deliver mixed messages!
  9. Jessica nodded to the mother, "anytime ma'am. That's what we do around here." She looked down to the child as she heard sirens in the distance, "what we're supposed to do. Help people." She saw Jack coming our with hamburgers and the burger joint behind him in disrepair. She wondered how much in there would be fixed by Dr Metropolis. She wondered how many hamburgers she could get. Walking up to Jack, Jessica smiled. "Well, partner," she said comically. The idea of fighting with more than by herself, amused her. She took a burger off the tray and walked over to the kid. She was hungry, but so was were they. Legitimate good deeds, she showed the youngster, even though the gluttony spirit fought her tooth and nail. "It's a big one," she said leaning down to give the kid the burger, "you can share it or have it all to yourself." Standing back up, she pulled out her phone and went back to Jack. "As I was about to say, partner." She laughed to herself, there went that word again. "I wouldn't mind teaming up again."
  10. The smoldering flames died off of Jessica enough for her to enjoy her handy work. It was not the bonfire she expected. Gone back to Hell was good though. Not terrorizing cats. She smirked at the allegory. She just saved a cat in a tree. Maybe she would help a little old lady across a demon street next? She was sure there would be more attackers. Right now she had a group and a date to get back to. ~~~ Jessica laughed at Trudy's impression of the tree. She was kind of miffed that she didn't get a souvenir from it! Still she had a 'nice' date out of it. She smirked, "it was more particle board than real wood." She looked at the drawing. It was really good! She nodded at the demon comment, "then again, we have different circles. Treebeard wasn't any of my relatives. So don't expect him at the family reunion." She looked at Trudy, "we'll have to do this another time?" "Yeah, another time," Trudy nodded. She wasn't half bad when she wasn't irritated. Second chances and all that. Some people didn't give Jessica that even. ~Fin~
  11. Technically this had nothing to do with the carnal spirits. Her hellish fire was a byproduct of her demonic blood. Her lineage. All those millenniums ago when they, the demons and the humans laid with each other. Corrupting each other. In the end, the demons won. But that was then and this was now. Jessica smiled, "you have made your bed, now lie in it." A scream that could be heard over the icy blankness of the park shot from Jessica's eyes, mouth and hands covering the beleaguered demon tree in hellish wood burning, ice melting flames.
  12. It was such a sight. Jessica was mad at herself for not being able to pull out her phone in time. She was sure she'd get, what, ten... twenty views? Then again it was her fault for posting things on the weird side of the internet. Still watching this pitiful sight was more than enough for her. "You're not the brightest, are you," she floated just out of reach of it, "let me tell you a story, tree. It involves a little bit of this," she raised her hand. It burned with hellish fire, "and a little bit of this," the other hand was also warm but glowed with a green light. "It involves a particular unsavvy tree from Hell that took a demon's friend's cat." She smirked, "I like multiple choice endings though." She reached forward with the fire hand, "in one ending, the tree becomes such a bonfire that the demon and her friends could have a nice place to sit by in the winter." She reached out the warm green hand, "the other ending has the tree going back to Hell to tell whoever sent the tree to piss off. Lest the have to come down there herself and deal with things personally." She floated slowly towards the tree. "What end do you want?"
  13. Well, that was a surprise. Not really though now. Though Jessica wondered how much Alexa saw. It would explain all the stuff back in the store. She smiled and put the phone back in her pocket. She really didn't want to divide the conversation. Maybe when she was away from this place she'd hit her up. Then again, getting away from this place seemed a good idea. It wasn't 'holy', but she did feel that this place had been hallowed or sanctified somehow. She was not a scholar on such things, but there was a gut feeling on wrong (right?). She felt it more and more as she wandered around. Maybe she trusted the little girl a little too much. Then again this place was too small to have some kind of altar. She spoke quietly, "I need this plant." She looked at Zhu with a about the best 'I'm actually fine' smile of a lie she could. Speaking up, "can I... can we take this out of here? Or is it paid only?" As she stood up she finally saw the object of her discomfort. It wasn't that bad. A small yippy dog instead of a big angry dog. But still. "I promise to pay for it," she said eyeing the door.
  14. As Morgan described Ash, Jessica hoped Vic was getting this all down. "Am I a sorcerer," 'Killian' smiled as she 'absent-mindedly' drew an arcane symbol on the condensation. "Thirst for blood? Able to burn? You just described most of my week nights." She looked over to Vic, "come here, doll," she said in a stern but sensuous voice, "this is my doll... Alexa." She looked Vic in the eyes, wordlessly asking her to play along, "she's my new apprentice." She looked to Morgan, "The reason I am here, since the little old lady is gone, is that I've been told you sell special meats," she goaded him with her voice, as she stroked Vic's neck line, "and maybe if you provide me with some meat and that 'position'. I'll provide you with sorcery. Very. Powerful. Sorcery."
  15. Jessica, or 'Red' now, followed along with Chavez. Like when she danced, this was all an act. She wrapped Chavez's arm around her waist as they walked to meet the members of The Dark Fist. "So, Chavez, you know I am better than that other girl. That's why you chose me. Dark Fist or no, you made a good choice." There was a subtle dig for information, but not enough to set off any suspicion. There were other flirtations in the few blocks they walked, anything to keep him talking. Loose lips and ships. She slid away from Chavez when they got to the warehouse. These people weren't the people she was expecting. She remained calm though. Again, showing off after for the street thugs after Chavez introduced her to them. A slow, graceful turn to show her front and back side to side. "Chavez here said you guys wanted some entertainment." She walked up to the one with the gun. Close enough not to not get him to pull it, but close enough for him to hear a low sultry, "and maybe we can get something more permanent going?" She was not about to join this gang, but if going on the inside got her more information about Hannah, she was more than willing.
  16. There was only one of the drugged up punks left. And even he was lucid enough to know this old building was about to fall. But more importantly, there were scared civilians. Jessica had to get them out of harms way. And now Jack was a bear. If there wasn't imminent danger, she would have stopped and stared for a moment. Which she technically just did, but in less time that she would have liked to. They would have to talk more about this afterwards. Maybe go find some more trouble. "I'll be your captain today," she said getting to the civilians, "hang on tight and I'll get you out in one piece." She picked up one and nodded. to the other, "Grab on, this is the only time you'll get to fly Air Jessica." Whether or not they took it, she flew to the outside. The punk on the inside would have to deal with one angry looking bear... man... thing.
  17. Taking the cat, Jessica loved on the poor thing some. Pets and cuddles. The tree was stuck in it's own personal hell for a bit so she had time to chase down her friend and her date. Luckily she flew caster than they walked. "You stay right there, Woody," she grinned as it rambled on and on, "I'll be back to deal with you in a bit." Flying as fast as she could, she followed the tracks of the group in the snow. She was no tracker, but she could see a line in the snow. When Jessica caught up to the group, she landed in front of Serena, cat in hold. "I told you I'd get him back." She kissed her friend's cheek as she gave the cat to her. Jessica looked to Trudy with a smile reaching out a hand, "lovely first date, huh? I'll be back. I gotta go make some fire wood. Then we can get back to the fun stuff." She hugged Trudy before blasting off back in the direction she came. Again, following the footsteps.
  18. Smiling as he complimented her, she remembered the offer made to her. The Dark Fist wanted some entertainment on the side. Chavez even left a thick tip with her that night. Of course, she wasn't about to get mixed up in some darker flesh trade, but Chavez was her only hope of getting information. She smacked her lips, "if money like that keeps coming my way, how could I refuse?" She walked towards him, "though I hear you got other girlies in this deal. Like that white girl with the blonde and red-streaked hair and the nice butt you was with before me?" She stopped, getting in his personal space. "There ain't gonna be any competition, is there?" She turned all the way around to show off her assets, front and back, side to side. "Then again, we know who'd win that. Right, papi?"
  19. Just to note, Chavez and whatever crew he brings are not good people. Jessica's just there to pretend to entertain the thought of going in, but getting information on Hannah.
  20. Hannah was Jessica's circle. She met her recently, but the girl had a joie de vivre that Jessica thought she would never see in a normal person. Hannah was all about the hustle though. She wasn't just dancing on stage and side. She had fallen into some known bad guys. While they did pay her for special treatment, it wasn't long until Hannah was missing. First she didn't show up for a few days. Jessica and the girls tried to call and text. Her next of kin didn't care for her profession, so they were no help. So Jessica, at the behest of the crew - and she was no slouch, she was going to do it if they asked or not - began tracking the missing girl. The only connection she had to anything in that life was an 'offer' from certain shady folks. It was straight to the matter, but she was going to have to find Hannah the hard way. She was easy to notice where ever she went. A few on the bus stared, some averted their eyes, others prayed even. This wasn't the most garish outfit. Black leather pants, a leather jacket, and a fishnet shirt underneath. West End led her to some guy named Chavez. They'd meet at the bus stop to discuss some things. but she was sure there wasn't going to be discussion. Then again, she wouldn't go lightly.
