  1. Trudy was not Jessica's favorite person at the moment. They'd met through Serena and this was supposed to be a blind double date. Serena was the one Jessica adored... as a friend. They'd been close ever since Serena took her under her wing and taught Jessica about the clubs. Which paid good, which to avoid, who's good people and who's not. She and Serena grew close over the past year and a half. Friends who would do anything for each other. Ocean was Serena's current fling. He was pretty cool, knew where to get what you needed if you had the price. And finally, Marsha, the level headed out of the five. She was quick to dispense a hug or a kind shoulder. The friend's friend. A sage, kind woman who was all ears and advice. The quintet had been searching for hours. For Serena's cat. Who Serena thought would stay with her in the cold. The cat was white. the ground was white. Unlike her date, Jessica held up hope for her friend. "Don't worry, hun," Jessica said to her friend, "CM is around here somewhere. I can feel it." She placed her hand on Serena's cheek, "my word." Serena cracked a small smile. Those two words from Jessica let her defenses down for just a second. Some inside joke between the two. "Just keep searching, Red," she said with a sigh, her arms crossed. Trudy's gaze off into the distance gave Jessica a chance to be with her date. She slipped up behind her, wrapping her arms around the shorter woman's waist just as the chill hit. Jessica's demonic body warmth protected Trudy from the brunt of it. Not that Jessica needed the weather appropriate outfit, but she wore an ash grey sweater dress, and black leggings and boots to blend in. Not that her red skin would let her blend in anywhere. "Thank you, Jess," Trudy said something nice for the first time in about an hour. "Yeah, babe," Jessica said looking at the statues, "you've been a handful. But I think there's some good in you. If we find the cat, me and you could go single off. But only if my best friend is content." Trudy smirked, "yeah, Serena's good people. You though?" Trudy turned around and looked up, mock straightening Jessica's dress. Jessica laughed, "maybe you'll see how good I am." It was dark now, and this place was totally different looking when covered in snow. Like some picture out of a Burton film.

  3. Well, less spelled out is that it works on people with souls. People without souls aren't affected. Those with inhuman souls might negate it too, or have a lesser effect. This is a complication. The spirits are spirits. They affect people. Some might not think them a sin, but they still affect them that way. Say I blasted a demon with Fill With Sin. They'd enjoy it (maybe?), but the blast would still happen. Basically different people take it different ways. Metaphysical debates aside. As for Emotion Control, basically each spirit can manipulate emotion in their own way. Wrathful Hope could be seeing the fight through, while Slothful Hate could be the things you can't do, Lustful Despair could be thinking about desires unfulfilled. And so on and so forth. I'm not saying all of them fit, but the spirits can be creative!
  4. I've explained the carnal spirits in Powers and Tactics. They're Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth, and Wrath. I didn't cut all the immunities in half, just the fire damage one. With the 1 point i gained from that I bought Leadership.

Both the women and men cavorted with the demons to assure their lineage would be the the strongest. Eventually, their corrupt ways caught up with them and they were enslaved human servitors of the demons. Skip a few millennia and a great hero named Witch, somehow severed the link between the demons and the lineage. In gratitude the Witchbloods took the hero's name. Skip a few more millenia, the family still bears the mark of the demon. Though they still practice strong magic, it was tempered by Witch's guidance. No more sacrificing or blood spilled. They invoke carnal (wrath, lust, pride, et cetera) spirits to give them power. Jessica was, well, not normal. Her red skin made sure of that. That said, she wasn't spurmed. She made friends with all except the most hardened of opinionated people. She loved to create and show off. "Oh hi, I'm Jessica, did you know that magic exists? Watch this!" The tricks weren't scary or harmful, but they were very expressive. Nonetheless, the ones that it didn't scare off, had each other's attention. During high school, she was somewhat popular and kind of a celebrity for that matter. But afterward, everyone went their separate ways. Then she started thinking about college. There was no way she could pay for it. without being in debt for the rest of her life, she found out quickly. Demons may be one thing, but debt collectors were the absolute worst. So she's taking the road most traveled for people with powers, she's doing hero work. Not that she doesn't want to do it! Helping others is always the right thing to do. But in the back of her mind, she always sees her fate - given to a Witchblood as they are born, they instinctively know it will happen, just not when - of dying, pinned down on a black altar. Personality & Motivation Jessica is adamantly always some kind of cheerful. Not springy or bouncy, but always talkative and in a good mood. The only time that she's quiet is when she's plotting or actually scared. You can most likely tell the difference in the two. Het heroism doesn't have a motivation. She just enjoys doing it.   7. Changed up Feed on Sin. Got rid of Enhance Self, replaced with Sinful Gifts. Gave her a few more complications based on her History.
  8. @Ari 1) Seeing as the Witchbloods are a lineage, they probably are more known among the magical types. Not saying that others dont know them it's just more a case by case basis. 2) She's not going to college at the time. Once she figures out how to get enough to pay, she'll go. 3) They cannot! It will eventually happen. 4) I'll get cracking on those. @Avenger Assembled Enhance Self isn't Permanent, it's just for when she needs it. I've seen it in other builds for active characters, but I'm not about to 'but they did it' to the guy that runs the place (except i just did! ) Carnal Spirits are mentioned in the History and Powers and Tactics sections. A long long long... looong time ago, they used more perverse kinds of magic and got corrupted, then enslaved by demons. A hero named Witch freed them from their enslavement and taught them how to seek the spirits instead of doing the more powerful demonic magic.
