1. that's ok, I'd say no roll is required (It would be a Dex check DC 5, let's just skip it). Synth regains her cool (but she's still shaken) and is up for the beginning or ROUND 2 after Azuth's IC post. I would put Synth about 60 feet from the stage, with still plenty of scared people running around in the middle - so still suffering the 1/2 penalty to land movement.
2. Airon

Fox's Things

I am extremely sorry for adding problems to an already troubling build, but Also, you may want to consider a Huge dragon instead of Gargantuan.
3. I could, but should I? 1d20+8 → [2,8] = (10) well, apparently I shouldn't have.
4. Ok. The Fear attack happended in the surprise round. Now the first true round begins. notes: for the first 3 rounds, whoever moves on the ground suffers a 1/2 penalty on his movement rate, because of the clumsy crowd swarming out of the place in terror. The theatre's ceiling is about 9 meters high (30 ft), with a balcony for special guests and for lighting technicians (equally running out in panic). William the Wonder is trembling in terror on the stage. ROUND 1 Zodiacus will use a full-round action to grapple and throw William. 26) Synth - unharmed, shaken, fleeing for this round, 1 HP 24) Glowstar - unharmed, shaken, fleeing for this round, 6 (wow!) HP 15) Zodiacus - unharmed 13) Wisp - unharmed, 3 HP Wisp is up, while William is starting his descent after smashing into the ceiling.
5. While the crowd run away in terror trampling each other, the short caped man grinned, accentuating his impish features. The sight of a hero in retreat galvanized him even more. “Run, you foolish boy, run!†he mocked Glowstar “The stars told me that this man, this pathetic charlatan†he pointed at a trembling William, cornered on the stage “should have stayed away tonight, but he, who calls himself an expert – HA! an expert – he dared make a show. He dared fight Fate!†he quickly covered the distance between him and William, and grabbed him by the neck with his left hand “And you did it too, when you saved him the first time!†shouted at the fleeing Glowstar, apparently forgetful of Wisp. “Now let’s try to correct that…†Zodiacus lifted William using just the one arm (with surprising ease for such a small man). As the dark silhouette of a crab appeared, similar to the lion that just a few moments before terrorized everyone, William mustered up enough courage to ask “What have you done to Patricia, you bast…†before the madman threw him up in the air, against the ceiling.
6. Wisp is ok Glowstar and Synth are Shaken, and since they failed by 5 or more, they also flee for 1 round before being able to think rationally - unless they spend an HP. Also, Initative for everyone! Zodiacus goes on 1d20+2 → [13,2] = (15)
7. "Yeah, come on, Kristin!" Luke playfully feinted at Kristin's box of chocolates as she tried to move it out of his reach "Ok, now I feel like American Air Force trying to hit that bird." said as the girl kept evading his hand. "Nice moves, by the way." he was warming up, this group of guys and girls his own age almost felt like his old team - and thinking about that brought back sad memories. He decided to distract himself with the movie. "This looks better" commented while Ren Li performed pointless but fairly well-executed wu-shu stances and taolu "Oh, never mind... here we go with the recycled shots." Ren proceeded to repeat the same sequence of movements through a choppy and inconsequential editing “So, Kristin… you a kung-fu girl? I bet you can beat that guy†he pointed at the screen “armed with that box of chocolates…†he hoped not to come across as too sarcastic. Kristin was clearly quicker and nimbler than him – the comment may have been ironic but it had some truth in it.
8. Saeid saw the excitement barely contained by the professor. “It seems as if I was over-cautious†explained “there is no trace of traps around the scroll – of course, it could be possible that something mystical escaped my inquiry. In that regard, it is the “open case, ask questions later†approach for us, I think.†A long blue scarf flew off his costume, gently wrapping itself around the scroll case and lifting it from its pedestal. Weaver grabbed the case from his costume and presented it to the professor, whose eyes seemed ready to pop out of his orbits judging by how he was staring at the goal of his search. “Since I had you waiting unnecessarily, I think the honor of opening it should be yours.â€
9. Weaver is not taking any chances. Since it's not his strong suit, he'll take 20 (I don't know how big is the room, but that shouldn't take too long) on Searching for traps. Also, let's throw in another Arcane Lore to help with magical traps 1d20+5 → [9,5] = (14) well, that's not good.
10. Saeid put a hand on the professor forearm with the firm intention of stopping him. “But professor! I would have thought that you, of all people, were as big a fan as possible of the Indiana Jones series.†said smiling “I don’t know how time works in this “extra roomsâ€â€¦ but I believe that a spending a bit of it looking for protective spells on the goal of our search it is not a waste. Call me paranoid, but a case made out of bone brings out my most cautious side.†Paying attention to his footing and to eventual visible cracks in the walls or floor, Saeid begun exploring the small room and the pedestal for traps. He unbuttoned his shirt, revealing the Weaver costume underneath it. Scarves flew off like tentacles and he proceeded to touch and press the floor between them and the case, then on to the pedestal’s steps. “I don’t want to deprive you of the emotion of completing your scrolls, professor, but even if there are no traps, I think it’s safer if I pick up the scroll case remotely.†pointed out while moving a scarf forward to envelop the case.
11. “Wow, you really know what you’re talking about right?†Luke was impressed at Serge’s display of scientific knowledge “You’re not mocking me with fake sciency speech, are you?†this last question was mostly rhetorical: Serge didn’t look like the jester of the group, and finding teenagers with advanced understanding of astrophysics apparently wasn’t that uncommon in Claremont. “From what I can understand, the biggest trouble to monitor are the FTL wormhole engines. Orion… ehr, I mean, I was, well…†he bit his tongue. He didn’t want to talk about his former team “the inter-stellar communications actually work with a byproduct of the same technology as the engines, when the sensors spot the passage of a Grue armada cruising at 500 c, by the time you get the information they are already a stellar system away.†He said it in a down to earth tone that was ill-suited for incredible scope of what he as discussing “Not that a FTL pursuit deep into the N-776 nebula ever gets boring, mind you.†concluded winking at Serge. “Unlike this battle. Jeez, it is now what, ten minutes of WW2 aviation movies stock footage? Did they forget about the bird?â€
12. Sense Motive during the time I create the ribbon and give it to her - to monitor how natural the awe/joy that a kid in front of a small magic gift expresses. I would take 10, for a total of 23.
13. “We are investigating on a rather sensitive case, Mr. Johnson†said Weaver as soon as the door opened “and we believe you could be of help...†He was interrupted by the smiling daughter noticing them. The sharp contrast between the perfectly neat and tidy young girl and the decaying structure of the house gave Weaver an uncomfortable shiver down his spine. He felt like there was something not quite right. Hoping that his mask wouldn’t scare her, he kneeled near her, produced from under his costume a velvet band and without touching, it, only by using his powers, he tied it up into a very beautiful and elaborate ribbon and deposed it on Chloe’s hair. "Here's a present for you, Chloe!" he hoped his smile could be guessed under the scarf. If she’s ok, that’s a useless but nice gesture. Weaver thought but let’s see how she reacts… "Now about that investigation..." Weaver looked at Fleur, who was certainly a more reknown and less threatening sight that his hooded figure, inviting her to grab the reins of the talk.

After years of vigilantism with the trinkets built by Gyro Gearloose, he becomes a full-fledged superhero with the technological aid of UNO, a Hypercompetent Sidekick AI that gives him advice and the electronic marvels built by his own creator, Everett Ducklair. Take away his Shield and two ranks of Gadgets, and PK is back to his origins: a low-level (roughly PL 7) Cowl, broadly skilled and very mobile, but lacking raw punching power outside of his silly gadgets. A lot of his skills are at +9 or +8: that’s because Donald has to put effort in what he does to succeed, if he tries to take 10 and relaxes, bad luck hits and he fails. With the improved Gadgets and the Extransformer Shield, he has a lot of technobabbly options and powerful attacks. This build represents PK on a mission somewhere else than Duckburg: in his native city, he can count on a massive Headquarters (the Ducklair tower), controlled by UNO, and several hi-tech vehicles, from cars to spaceships. None of his incarnations has the knowledge to create his own gadgets – if by any reasons he is without tech support, only his wits can save him. Also, PK gets his fair share of disarming, so even his shield is Easy to Lose. While very prone to Power Stunting, he has no Luck: he’s Donald! He also maintains the “jack of all trades, master of none†skillset of his low-level self, but with Beginner’s Luck he can get very high rolls. Thankfully he has a lot of Complications for getting HP!
15. Paperinik New Adventures Introduction (more on TvTropes and Wikipedia) In 1966 Italian readers started asking the Disney Comics publishers to give Donald a break. It was fun and all to see him lose all the time, but could he win once, just once? Borrowing the idea from Marvel’s superheroes with superproblems and from pulp icons (like Diabolik, Arsène Lupin, Fantômas and The Shadow), they gave Donald a costumed alter-ego, following Uncle Scrooge’s purchase of a gentleman thief’s mansion and Donald stumbling upon his hidden tricks. Initially Paperinik had a mischievous phase, as his goal was mostly avenging the wrongs his unlucky alter-ego suffered. Soon enough though he became a silly small-time superhero, his limited skills improved by the gadgets built by Gyro Gearloose. This lead to many fun adventures and many, many unsuccessful spin-offs. In 1996 Paperinik was re-tooled and PKNA was launched, outright stealing the American Superhero comic book format made of strong continuity between issues, a cast of recurring villains and allies, and several overarching plot arcs. PK became a true super-hero, with higher stakes and slightly grittier action; the new format provided his alter ego with advanced technological AI, cosmic mutants and time-traveling robbers – but at the core of the book was still the unlucky and sarcastic Donald. A wonderful series was born.
16. I habe my post ready as soon as you post IC...
17. “Like dreams, you say. Hmmm…†Saeid squinted as he tried to make out some more glyphs from the incomplete incantation “It most assuredly talks about the devanic realms. Things can be bizarre, there. Quite new territory for me – but I’m am positive we have to pass through them to get to these hidden chambers.†He grabbed a piece of chalk from under his robe, and scribbled very faintly on the floor “I hope we don’t get caught… I’m pretty sure I can go to jail for doing this inside the Sphinx.†While reciting by heart a few formulas, trying not to get the intonation wrong, he drew a circle several feet of diameter, stepped inside and invited the professor to do the same. “I find myself short on advanced magical supplies – and I doubt you have a Silver Candle of Oragoh, so we are going to have to enter the devanic realms the old fashioned way. It’s very simple… though I'm afraid not easy at all.†The dramatic pause was unintentional, but well-placed anyway “we need to dream and, therefore, to fall asleep. Thankfully, the good Doctor taught me an Olmec lullaby that should help…†he lied down inside the circle, closed his eyes, cleared his throat and started chanting sotto voce.
18. “Hey, don’t worry.†Luke reassured Chloe. “I’m pretty sure that most of us have been through a traumatic experience to find ourselves here now. Yours is just… unheard of. You don’t have to apologize.†he wasn't ready to tell his, for sure, but he could at least try to make other comfortables. “As for the space… well, space is one of the few things were using the word “awesome†isn’t an exaggeration. I find myself unable to describe it. It’s just… like when you are completely underwater, you close your eyes and let yourself be deprived of any sense… and then you open your eyes and everything seems detached, your limbs feel differently, the colors aren’t what they should be, and even if you can breathe, you don't, because it doesn't seem respectful, taking in some of that beauty… it’s like that, times a thousand.†His eyes gazed beyond the screen, imagining soaring through the stars. Luke laughed a bit at the question about the Lors “Well, man, the Lor are an intergalactic government. They have police and armies and ships and defensive station but you know… if drug smugglers can get through State boundaries on a daily basis, can you imagine how hard can it be to patrol the distance between two solar systems?†he shrugged “Besides, Earth is hardly the Grue’s only target… you don’t want to know what they did on Laktia Tuul…†he paused for a bit “I think here we call it the Leonis System. Not happy place now, definitely not.†He quivered a bit, remembering the olopictures in the Hall of Memory.
19. Ok, may I have a Will save, DC 22, from everybody. Raveled, remember that you still have to pass the previous Will DC 15 before this one. The attack is Fearsome Presence 12, for Immunities purposes a Fear Attack.
20. “Ah, but I sense extraordinary individuals in this young champion’s past…†William had great showmanship, managing to capture the crowd’s attention even when mystically whispering into the mike “There are superheroes soaring through the cosmos with your father, but they are not with him, THEY ARE FIGHTING HIM!†Glowstar widening’s eyes and a clenching in his jaw confirmed the showman that he had hit a spot. The crowd gasped in amazement to the revelation “So are our young Aquarius! They rebel from their parents, for good or bad! Be warned you parents… you may have a rough customer!†he swirled back upon the stage “What other secrets do our crowd holds, let’s see, something… something a bit more happy, maybe!†William proceeded by guessing that a young man will propose to his girlfriend that night, prediction quickly followed by a super trooper spotlight pointing right at a 20-something couple. The man was a bit startled, but then shrugged, clapped at the magician with a smile and got a ring from out of his pocket. The girl said yes and the crowd cheered once more. “Very well… and now let’s see if we can do something for our clumsy Patricia, tonight!†he scolded his assistant with a fake smile, hiding his true resentment. “What do you say if we make her disappear?†He then brought onto the stage a large metal ring holding a white silk veil. Patricia stepped inside, William raised the ring around her and started his routine of gestures. The light changed, the music drifted into a low drumroll and William dropped the ring. Patricia wasn’t there anymore. But someone else was. It was a short man dressed in a flamboyant costume that seemed made out of nightsky. He pointed with a dramatic gesture at William “Taurus, ascendant Pisces! Don’t leave your house on the 20th, avoid crowds, it is not a good day for your job! You call yourself an expert in reading the stars? You openly disrespect their advice! YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF THE TITLE!†A dark cloud gathered above the strange man’s head, condensing into an ethereal-looking lion’s head. A mighty roar filled the theatre, and a wave of terror grasped the people’s heart – including those of the heroes. People started fleeing, crying in fear, pushing each other out of the way in an attempt to flee the source of panic. Lewis grabbed Synth's arm as he ran away "Come, girl! That ain't no two-bit thug! Run!"
21. HOROSCOPED BY AA Zodiacus (villain NPC) * added picture Character Name: Zodiacus Power Level: 12* (197 pp) - the power of the current constellation gets slightly higher Trade-Offs: +2 DC / -2 Attack In Brief: Two-bit astrologer who stumbled upon constellation-themed powers, now delusional and driven by fake prophecies. Alternate Identities: Frederick Bach, Zebediah Zodiacus Identity: Secret Birthplace: Trenton, New Jersey Occupation: Fortune teller, astrologer, super-villain Affiliations: None Family: Howard Bach (father), retiree; Mary Bach (mother), retiree Age: 43 (DoB: unknown) Apparent Age: mid-forties Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5'9" Weight: 130 lbs. Eyes: Indigo Hair: black/grey Description: Frederick is far from being a large man. He’s not very tall, a bit hunched, and thin, the skin almost cadent on his meatless limbs. He has the face of an imp, with a long nose and a small pointed chin. His hair, sprayed with grey, has been receding from his forehead for quite a while, giving him a prominent widow’s peak. His good features are his eyes, two hypnotic pools of indigo, and his voice, which he can modulate from a hoarse growl to a powerful and loud baritone . In his Zodiacus persona his appearance is a bit different: he wears a full-body suit and hood that seem made out of night, of a dark blue decorated with shining constellations. The suit models his body into a fitter and slightly larger figure. Power Descriptions: His powers manifest with an aura all around him. This aura is dark with luminous spots, and it is effectively a veil of star-clad night. When the powers require for him to get a different appearance, the aura models itself after the sign (example: he gets an ethereal Aquarius that pours out water, the silhouette around him of an Aries as he charges, a huge Scorpio tail appearing from behind him, etc…). All powers have the Magic descriptor (very common) and the Astrological descriptor (uncommon) History: Frederick was born from office-drone parents in a small city in New Jersey, and as a kid he tried to find a sparkle of magic in his boring routine. He sought after the few days of wind which would clear the sky from clouds and pollution and show him the wonder of a star-clad night. He picked up astrology as a hobby, fascinated by the idea of predicting the future by looking at those magic spot of lights. He started dabbling a bit in fortune-telling by trying to write an horoscope for the high-school paper. Then he moved to Freedom City University to study astronomy, sure he could merge the scientific side of the stars with the mystic one. Not only he failed miserably, but it brought him the derision and scorn of true astronomers. After college he struggled with temporary jobs, until he managed to open a fortune-telling business in the Boardwalk. He took up the name “Zebediah Zodiacus†and started welcoming gullible people looking for of a shortcut in facing the future. He also wrote horoscopes for a couple of two-bit gossip and paranormal magazines. In the beginning, he honestly thought he was blessed with some kind of sooth-saying gift; but as the years went by and his fortune wasn’t getting more readable in the stars, he lost faith in his methods and just kept going through the motions of his job, half-assing most of his predictions or outright making stuff up. He found himself in 2009 alone, without faith in himself, and getting old. He was fairly depressed. He decided to spend the weekend combing garage sales and flea-markets, hoping to find some odd ornament to boost his fortune-telling booth’s mystical appearance. He was lucky, because he found a candelabrum with 12 candle-prongs arranged in a circle, each prong sporting one of the symbols for astrological signs. With a bit of work, it could become a very good centerpiece for his table. Once at home, he started polishing it, he put new candles in it and lit them. The light was beautiful and hypnotizing, and he found himself taking another shot at cracking the true secrets of astrology. He sat down with his diagrams and his telescope, dusted off his books and hopes and spent the whole night tracing, writing, interpreting. He woke up when the heat of the fire got too strong. The candles had lit on fire his books and diagrams when he fell asleep, and now everything was burning. He found himself wishing for water and before he could act, a elaborated pitcher that seemed made out of nightsky poured water on his table, ending the fire. In the following days Frederick begun to learn more about the powers granted to him by the candelabrum. He found the he could evoke an aspect for every astrological sign. He had finally found the magic, after a life of looking for it. More important, he re-found faith in the stars, and begun to study anew, trying to predict his destiny. Personality & Motivation: These new abilities made Frederick highly delusional and quite possibly mad with power. Although the magic that empowers him is real, a true ability to read the future is definitely NOT among his gifts. Believing he has been blessed for a reason, Frederick will use his powers to pursue whatever action he saw written for him in the stars. Since his predictions are fruit of delusion and misread astrology tomes, his behaves rather erratically. The destiny he reads for himself can be harmless, but usually ranges from annoying to criminally dangerous: for example if he read a space mission will fail, he will try to sabotage it; if he predicted that the Mayor would die on January 15th, he'll try to assassinate him; and so forth. He always believes to be destined to do what he does, has blind faith in his predictions, and although he doesn’t want to, he’ll fight the heroes if they get in the way of his goal. He’ll reprimand them while fighting, accusing them of battling an instrument of Fate. He never gets discouraged when his predictions turn out to be inaccurate – he always finds a missing detail in his data, and starts anew with another prediction – this time it will be perfect! Powers & Tactics: Zodiacus acts alone. He read his own future, he is the one fit to accomplish it. He tends to distract heavily the opponents trying to guess their sign based on their actions. He is also very good at cold-reading people, from his fortune-telling days. He favors the use of the power of the current constellation, not only because it is stronger but because it “feels†better. Luckily he is not very subtle and likes to make an entrance – after all, he was a fortune teller that based his job on suggestion and appearance. Complications and plot hooks: Power Loss: His powers come from the candelabrum: as long as 12 candles burn in the candelabrum, he has his powers, one for each candle. This means he has to come back at least once a day to put new ones in. Power Loss: The candelabrum cancelled his date of birth from memory and registers alike, though there may be someone who remembers. Zodiacus powers only work as long as nobody else knows what sign he is, and thus nobody but him can predict his future. Enemy: Zodiacus has a bit of a beef with his former colleagues astrologers. He usually reads as many horoscopes as he can, from magazines and newspapers, and if he finds an inaccurate prophecy will try to punish the writer. Enemy: Zodiacus hates luck controllers and psychics: he believes destiny should be accomplished, not modified or fought. He is also very vulnerable to luck powers since he doesn’t comprehend their existence. Incomplete studies: His knowledge, both of the arcane and mundane world, stops at his chosen field: the stars. 22. let's say that Weaver is too unexperienced to take 10 on Arcane Lore 1d20+5 → [18,5] = (23) but he makes up in luck what he lacks in skill (bit of a tonguetwister)
23. “As a matter of fact, I do. A little.†He didn’t want to sound useless – but at the same time, he couldn’t exaggerate his abilities. “I have been taking extensive lessons from Dr. Elditch – I have a decent understanding of the basic principles of arcane practice, however my studies lack the depth of the knowledge of a true wizard. And as a practitioner, I am limited to a very, very specific window – which I am afraid it is not what we’ll need. I lack the skill to perform a proper ritual meant to unveil something screened by ancient magic.†He was regretting now more than ever not to have studied harder. “At most, I can examine a location to try and understand if said ritual is in fact needed. Did the doctor provide you with some other "bottled charm" for such an occasion?â€

Don’t let anybody see you. He received a mental confirmation from the carpet, and got back to the professor. Arug flew off, staying close to the rooftops to avoid being seen, keeping his senses focused on the beggar. “Here I am again, professor.†he put a hand on his forearm to get his attention as he re-approached him in the middle of the tourist crowd “We shall proceed undisturbed now, I hope. What exactly are we looking for, by the way? I am somewhat skilled in working a crowd to get information, but what should I put my attention towards?â€
