1. Ref save 1d20+9 → [4,9] = (13) nope Tou save 1d20+12 → [4,12] = (16) yeah, awesome Spend the HP, reroll the bad save! 1d20+12 → [14,12] = (26) oh, of course now you roll well...
2. Ref save 1d20+4 → [13,4] = (17) nope he can pass DC 25 only with a 20 1d20+5 → [1,5] = (6) mmm, nice. He's very much down. You are out of round scansion, you can act as you wish. Scholar knows where the warehouse is since she was scouting earlier, and Stomrbreaker can judge the distance with her Accurate Hearing. You are about 600 feet away from it; the whole district is full of old warehouses more or less occupied by goods; there's pretty much nobody around except for the criminals that sent these two goons.
3. If I understood correctly and the girl is laying on some sort of mattress instead of a steel slab, there's two ways what I am about to stunt could work. Both do the same thing. 1) I use my regular Move Object power on the fabric surrounding the girl and position it so that it shields her, then I Stunt the following power: Boost Toughness 15 (Extra: Ranged, Impervious; Flaw: Limited to cloth; PF: Indirect 2) 2) I can do the same by stunting Create Objects(Extra: Impervious; PF: Indirect 2) to simulate the empowered cloth shield I'm making with the stuffing. Indirect 2 should be able to get past the glass even for non-perception powers, right?
4. Weaver rubbed his temples as he saw the clearly very high-tech hibernation pod. This really isn’t up my alley. And booby traps, with the little girl? I… There was something though. The girl was at least clothed, and laid on some sort of stuffed interior. He grabbed in his hand the edge of his costume, that outfit he had made so sturdy and resistant to be almost bulletproof. If only that glass wasn’t so thick… He let his power loose, trying to get them to work beyond the pod. At first, he felt nothing, but then the collar on Chloe’s shirt trembled a bit. “Ok I’m in!†he screamed, excited. He looked at his fellow hero and the terrified father. “Ok, let me explain. Mr Rayford, there’s enough fabric in there for me to work. I feel confident about this: I can protect your girl from any kind of trap.†“Monsieur DeSaens, if you could… paint a hole in that thing†he cringed I have no idea how his powers work, dollars to dimes I just said something stupid “Or try and open it somehow… I can make sure Chloe goes unharmed. We have to act quickly though, it is a very unusual procedure I’m about to make and I don’t know for how long I can keep it up. What do you say, on the count of three?â€
5. Supercape, just a reminder, it's still Steam's turn.
6. Weaver Move Action: Bluff (at -5) to Trick villain #1 into attacking my empty clothes. I think the moving clothes can pass just as a flavour thing, since they have no mechanical effect, but correct me if I'm wrong. Bluff 1d20+10 → [5,10] = (15) mpfff that's not very good. Standard Action: Selective Obscure (1 mile radius, I cover pretty much all the scene). I target the demons, Villain #2 and #3. I also target #1 if the Bluff fails. If he is Tricked instead, I won't affect him.
7. So now we have demons… that’s always great fun. thought Saeid even better, demons controlled by kids! The flaming bad guy was on the verge of collapse, but Weaver was afraid he’d explode in random destruction if he didn’t get a target soon. Even then though, he wasn’t able to turn back visible. The mage took control of his own clothes, previously left in a corner of the street, and animated them in a passable imitation of a human being. He made them move behind the and screamed, while still invisible “Yeah, come and get me, you fool! You can barely stand, I bet you’ll fold like a cheap suit!†Saeid smirked Oh the puns, the puns we make for distraction. The demons were a much bigger problem. First of all, they were many, and they were naked, which meant having to use his personal reserve of scarves. Second, they were already acting randomly, so it didn’t seem like they could get distracted furthermore. Well, let’s make them less efficient in their destruction, at least. A snap of his fingers, and all loose fabric in the zone took the sky. Towels, scarves, handkerchiefs, shawls started twirling in the air, then descended quickly and wrapped themselves around the demons’ and the villains’ eyes.

The Lab

I would like for Saiph to have an experience similar to Glow's in this thread, a visit to the lab for either "studying his powers" purposes or for a very short internship (he's not a genius, but he has a bit of sciency knowledge, and he knows SPAAACE!). The real reason Saiph is bugging Duncan Summers for a visit to the Lab is this Complication of his so at the end of the visit/experiment he can get a chance of explaining his problem to the scientist overseeing him. Also, and I'm just throwing it in, since he's empowered by the Lor, and Supercape plans on bringing in a Lor NPC... maybe Saiph's energy signature is what leads to the meeting, or something like that... anyone up for this?
9. the Thug can't possibly pass that. He's down. The other Thug is running away with all-out movement, the shooting is just for flavour. Stormbreaker, unless you pursue the fugitive, you can consider yourselves out of rounds scansion, act in whatever order you like. the thug is not running towards the warehouse where the weapon deal is going down.
10. Already a bit startled by the telekinetic attack, the criminals never stood a chance against a charging tiger. The first thug was knocked out cold before he could readjust his aim for the orange and black blur that was Scholar; he fell down, prone and unconscious, the massive feline resting her paws on his chest. The second one, already disarmed by Stormbreaker and now facing from a dangerously close distance the beast, started running away while reaching in his jacket pocket for a small concealed handgun. He discharged the weapon randomly behind himself, barely looking over his shoulder to see if the bullets hit his targets. When the echo of the gunshots vanished, Silvia was once again able to perceive the other men, half a dozen hundred feet away in the warehouse maze. One voice was raised above the others now, and even if the exact words escaped her, the tone was one for giving orders.
11. Weaver Strand of Fate Saiph GM You Can't Take the Sky from Me
12. well, I went with it since you told me it was ok in chat. Since points aren't an issue with NPCs I can take it out and leave the "medieval apparel" as a flavour thing.
13. Before preparing the distraction puppet, is there any kind of roll (most likely Arcane Knowledge, or Sense Motive) I can do to see if there's a connection between Ahmed's own brand of crazy and the sanity-shattering sensation of the scroll?
14. Saeid took a deep breath “I don’t know what your fascination with camels comes from, but luckily we can afford a jeep, and unless you have a very compelling argument as to why we should take those beasts, we’ll wait for the professor and the car.†He hid from the convoy with camels, and prepared to experiment with his powers in a new way, creating a hopefully useful distraction. He laid some of his clothes on the ground, and filled them with loose fabric. A long scarf would be sufficient to act as a turban. As for the eyes, he picked a pair of cheap sunglasses from his bag These, I’ll have to bind to the puppet… no way I can control them. Before starting the incantation though, he looked back at Ahmed. Something the professor said had loosened a thought in his mind Really? Could I have been so inconsiderate, so blind? he wondered. “Ahmed, come here, please. I… I’d like to check something.â€

He appears and behaves as a slightly younger man than his official registry age, since he didn’t age for the bigger part of the last two years. His body is fit and lean, his hair is cut short so that he doesn’t have to bother combing it. He has seven small (ping-pong ball sized) marks of stars - similar to tattoos - composing the Orion constellation on his body: three constituting the belt on his lower abs, two on his shoulders and two on his thighs; the Saiph mark (on his right leg) is much darker and noticeable than the others. He doesn’t like to show them, and usually wears blue jeans and slim-fitting shirts and sweaters. As Saiph, his body is enclosed in a jet black suit covering everything but his face, with the seven stars of Orion shining in place of his marks. Power Descriptions: When he uses his powers, the Saiph star on his suit shines brightly. His powers manifest as blinding white light, surrounded by a reddish and fainter glow, generating from his hands. He can project it as beams towards his enemies, or use it as propulsion for super-sonic flight. He also has latent telepathic abilities - now almost null and dormant after the accident, but still there. All his powers have the “Cosmic Energy†descriptor and the “Bestowed by Lor†origin. History: Orion the Star-Mace is one of the greatest heroes of the Milky Way. The technocrats of the Procyon system, feather in the cap of the Lor Republic, found a way of harnessing and storing massive amounts of Cosmic Energy, and used it to power the Hrliiekt-Joood, (Giant Hunter) a benign behemoth chock-full of energy. They uploaded into this being seven of the keenest scientific and tactical minds found in among the Lors, and launched him into space. Known by many names, Orion travelled the galaxy fighting its most fearsome foes. After centuries of battle, it finally came to a defeat against an unspeakable evil. Only one of the seven minds - named Hilac - managed to detach a small portion of the collapsing body, carrying the source of Cosmic Energy, and ended up crash-landing on a small planet called Earth. Sixteen-year-old Luke Perrin was a having the time of his life. His high school in Boston was in the middle of an intercultural program that welcomed guests from schools all around the world. Luke and his friends were spending mornings working on a great model UN and afternoons chaperoning cute foreign girls around the city. It was when Luke (together with six friends from the program) was enjoying a sunset in the park that the relict seared through the sky and crashed into the woods. The seven teenagers couldn’t contain their curiosity and got near the crash-site. It was Ludwig, a cocky German student, the one who first decided he wanted to touch the relict. The other six followed. When all seven hands had touched the remaining of Orion, their minds exploded into the cosmos, instantly learning about the Lor scientists, Orion and his purpose. Each one of them was imbued with a sparkle of the cosmic energy that powered the behemoth. Their bodies became space-resistant and able to wield the cosmic energy. Their minds could connect with each other instantly over any distance. They became aware of cosmic threats. Their most impressive power was that they could merge together, and give new life to Orion the Star-Mace! They named each other after the Seven brightest Stars of the Orion Constellation: Rigel, Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, Saiph, Mintaka, Alnilam and Alnitak. Initially they tried to keep it a secret, sneaking out to be super-heroes. When the multi-cultural project ended, each one brought back his gift to his home country. But once you have tasted the cosmic power, its call is too strong. To know of such menaces out there, to know that you could end them, it is unbearable. They all mentally connected and decided together. The next day Luke confessed the secret to his parents, showed them what he could do, and informed them that he was going to merge indefinitely with the others to fight the good fight in the depths of space. He flew out under his star-power when they were still protesting and trying to stop him. The seven youths met on the Moon, and merged together for good while watching their home planet. They spent the next two years coexisting into a single body for weeks at the time, and always mentally connected even when separated. Their minds got so accustomed to work as one that they barely needed to speak anymore, as they usually shared the same thoughts. They fought the such of Star-Khan and the Gorgon. But if for the original Lor uber-minds it took several centuries to find a fight too big, for these kids it only took two years. Orion was on the verge of being destroyed against a world devourer: when all seemed lost they decided to divide into their original selves trying to save at least some of them. Only Luke (Saiph) and Yolanda (Mintaka) were able to flee. The other five were sucked into a cosmic vortex and got lost in space. The pain of the mental connection shattering left the two survivors stunned and shocked. They woke up hours later, drifting in the void. It took them four days of space travel to get back to the Solar System, four days without food nor sleep that tasked even their enhanced metabolism. Once on Earth, Yolanda went back to Poland. Luke tried to convince her to stay and fight evil together, but she was still shocked by the sudden loss of what had been her world for the last two years; she powered down instantly, severing the last mental link between the Seven Stars of Orion. They parted with few words and a lot of tears. Luke, 18 by the books, but 16 in appearance and education, drifted to the world-famous Claremont Academy, hoping to finish his education and finding help to recover his previous team. Personality & Motivation: Luke has a strong sense of responsibility but little of the experience and common sense needed to support that. He was incredibly happy of being a part of Orion, bringing justice and peace in the galaxy. Now that his power has been severely resized, he still wants to help, though he may lean towards feeling useless battling common crime after years spent facing cosmic-level threats. He is very much a team player, almost too much: he’ll probably criticize partners who don’t assist each other in battle, and has a short temper for individualist. After years as part of an amazingly well-oiled team, it’s pretty much guaranteed he’ll find it harder to work with new partners who don’t share a common mind. The biggest obstacle to his happiness is the loss of the other former components, a tragedy that can bring him to a gloomy and depressed mood. It also brings him to take as a personal responsibility the safety of every member of his group, and he sees as egoistic on his side not to take a hit for a teammate. He also feels terribly for the way he left his family. Powers & Tactics: If he has to face a threat alone, he’ll act as a straight-up blaster, keeping distance and attacking from far away, trying to modulate his energy emission to exploit vulnerabilities. In a team, he’ll gladly use his incredible speed to fly on the battlefield confusing enemies and shielding teammates.

Complications: Secret identity? Why?: in the universe he was famous as Orion, here on Earth he should be keeping a lower profile, but he really isn’t very careful. I used to be big: oh boy, did he. He may forget to be a small fish from time to time, and take on a much bigger threat than advisable. Why did you go left?: he assumes every team has to perform as flawlessly and smoothly as the Seven Stars of Orion, and expects assists and cohesion even when he probably shouldn’t. It was my fault: it wasn’t really, but he still has huge amounts of survivor’s guilt. It’s too painful for him the idea of losing another teammate: if a member of a new group would be in mortal danger, he will probably try to sacrifice himself instead. I’ll get them back: He still looks for a way of finding his missing teammates. He’ll bother every super-scientist in the City searching for help. Out of place: he basically abandoned his entire life to be a part of Orion. It will be hard, after almost two years, to regain normality. Also, he still hasn’t seen his parents about his return, and though he misses them, he is ashamed of how he left. Vulnerability: Fear-inducing, despair-inducing, or dream-inducing effects may trigger the shock of his teammates’ loss. Any effect that brings to the surface those memories is likely to devastate him. 17. Weaver let the frightened driver free from his hold as soon as he was sure that the villain wasn’t going to go after him. Still feeling confident and secure in the invisibility spell provided by Rene, Weaver moved to face the hooded figures. That pale girl in the period dress was clearly superhuman, and was fighting one of the villains, so he probably had an extra ally he didn’t know. The girl was handling the bad guy pretty well, and surely the French painter was somewhere helping, too. Saeid looked up at the flying figure engulfed in black fire. Oh, a hooded robe? Really? You couldn’t make it easier for me if you tried… in a second he took control of the cape and hood of the baddie BIND HIM! he ordered. The clothes tightened around their wearer, but he somehow managed to break free of the hold without even making it look hard. Well, that will teach me humility thought Weaver while watching the baddie still flying free of restrain.
18. “Whoa, whoa…†Luke put his hand on Subito’s shoulder after hearing the classmate’s plan “I’m touched by the trust you have in my… interrogation abilities, but I’m really no expert on the subject… I’ll try and do my best, of course, but be ready to bail me out if I put a gigantic foot in my mouth.†“Anyway, I kind of like the idea of being far away from the magical part of this investigation†he tried to hide an uncomfortable shiver and then shrugged, a bit apologetic, at Morgan “and that Hayden could tell us some important stuff, so he should definitely be questioned. So… back into costume, I guess? I bet that he won’t be too glad to see us again!â€
19. Ok, Weaver will try to Snare the flying enflamed baddie. Since I'm still invisible, I figure he/she could probably be flat-footed, so I'll go for Power Attack +2 1d20+9 → [14,9] = (23) If that is a hit, it's a Reflex DC 22. Tell me when I can post IC

Of course, Supercape has the final word for anything concerning Blakely and other personnel of the Manor
21. Leviathan Leviathan left the bathroom leaving the unconscious and bound body behind. The personnel of Steam Manor was running towards him to see what was going on with the battle noises in the wing of the mansion. They were startled by Veljlial’s monstrous appearance, and a couple of them fled back to where they came from, but Blakely, the old distinguished butler who greeted them into the mansion, was unfazed and reassured the others that Leviathan was in fact a personal guest of the Lord. “I believe the Lord and his other guests are momentarily at the docks, Mr… ehm… Leviathan, is it?†he cleared his voice “I can accompany you to them, if so you desire. Or perhaps we can be of help with some other matter?†he stood there, with two maids, all waiting for Veljlial’s reply. Steam and Revenant The firm footing on Alice provided Revenant with enough stability to land a blow on her double. The doppelganger was ready to reply, when a loud gurgle announced to everyone that the docks where finally drying for good: Alice impacted on the ground with a metallic clunk, and the doppelganger found herself standing on solid ground, only her ankles still immersed, the water dripping copiously from her 20ies dress suit. “Well, it seems as if I found my footing again! That was very kind of you, Lord Steam! Things do not bode well for you, imposter…â€
22. “Very well then†Saeid packed quickly his small bag, then raised a scarf over his mouth and nose – maybe he’d bump into someone and he’d rather conceal a bit his identity “fare well, professor. We shall see each other soon, I hope.†He then turned to the beggar “Come, Ahmed. If you think we should get down unnoticed, this is the moment. Be very quiet…†He lead the way out of the cabin, careful not to make any noise nor to alert any member of the crew. “I won’t jump into the Nile†said Weaver to Ahmed “My carpet is strong enough to carry both of us to land, if you trust me on this. Don’t worry about the Weavers sensing the magic on the carpet… we’ll use it as a distraction as soon as we get off this ship†he put forward his hand to the beggar, inviting him to climb onto the hovering Arug. While the beggar moved, Saeid kept guard, ready to distract anybody who happened to be looking at them.
23. as usual I'll take 10 on Stealth, for a total of 25. Arug's Flight has the Subtle PF. Also, I Ready an Action: if I see anyone who can notice us, Selective Obscure on them (with the usual descriptor of their hat falling over their eyes, or their scarf wrappin around their head because of the wind, etc...). in case it's needed, here's a check to Notice if somebody looks at us: 1d20+13 → [14,13] = (27)

Both these civilization are in possess of alien technology far more advanced than the one on Duckburg – and are at war. Urk is a champion of the Iroquois (ironically, since he looks very much like a Viking), who ended up in PK’s dimension by hunting a Viking time-eating monster (yep, that's right). He is stranded here, and assumed a secret ID as an unassuming window-cleaner at the Ducklair tower (one of the first victims of said monster on this dimension), even when he has the physique of a barbarian warlord; this allows him to scout the city from above, searching evildoers to punish. He is silent, proud and quick to rage, not to mention prone to brooding moods due to nostalgia of his home dimension; nonetheless, he is a good ally for PK when needed. His strength, stamina and agility are borderline superhuman, but most terrifying of all, he is an incredibly competent warrior and hunter, among the finest of both dimensions. He has a basic understanding of science and technology, far from the big brains inhabiting the PK universe, but still better than poor Donald himself. His signature weapon is an energy spear that can hit in several ways, but he has mastered any type of weapon, from clubs to blaster rifles, alongside unarmed combat. He's also never caught unprepared. His weak points are being stranded in a different dimension he doesn’t know anything about, and a severe lack of social skills made even worse by his gruff and nostalgic temper.
25. Weaver in: Smile Time? “Yes, I had a bit of a stomachache earlier but now I’m ok – maybe I avoided it.†Saeid was flying above the city while talking to his wife on the phone “Don’t worry sweetie, the League and the Lab and pretty much everybody are working on a cure – just be happy you were out of town. Yes, Masoumeh and Jonah are fine. Masoumeh can actually talk to plants… she’s still very much worried, but she’s distracting herself like a child with a new toy. Jonah got super-strength… yes, that’s what I said! Could you be more boring? I think he’s remodeling hom… I’m hearing gunshots! Gotta go, love you too!†Saeid made Arug fly down on the jackals causing a ruckus. There were two of them, shooting at a third. Saeid didn’t even bother trying to yell at them. Before even landing, he had thrown a dozen scarves that thoroughly trapped and bound them on the spot, leaving the guns on the ground “You guys are murderers!†he screamed in rage “what brought you to…†“I don’t think so.†interrupted one of them, grinning. The third man, the victim, was getting on his feet. “Haw… the pain… it hurts so bad…†He had multiple gunshot wounds all over his body and should have been very dead, but the bullets were popping out of his body and the wounds were healing quickly “Aaargh!†the man’s face was torn in agony. “We’ll go to a hospital sir, I’ll take them to the authorities…†he turned back to the criminals “So you weren’t killing him, only torturing him. You’re really sick, you…†“Don’t you know, hero?†grinned one of the jackals “We’re all sick now.†Blades sprouted from all over his body tearing clothes and restraints to rags. Then the second one stretched and elongated into a thin figure, squeezing himself out of the bonding. His arms stretched out several feet and he grabbed both guns. “Now let’s see how you deal with somebody on your level.†he jumped like a spring coil, landed behind Saeid and taking advantage of his surprise, unloaded both guns into his side. Weaver had just the time to think Oh no, please, not like this… then he felt the impact with the bullets. It wasn’t painful, though. It was as if somebody had ruffled his hair. He felt the bullets lodged inside of him – they were heavy – but there was no pain, nor great damage, judging by how smoothly he could still move. “Oh. So maybe I didn’t avoid the Hot Zone. I wonder…†He started moving, tumbling under the blows of both criminals, throwing them off target with his cape. His movements were cleaner, easier – he felt in total control. The elastic thug was quickly engulfed in a vortex of flying fabric, twirling like crazy around him; Saeid maneuvered skillfully and the brute ended up all knotted up with himself, unconscious and exhausted on the ground. The bladed one was running away. “It’s ok, I’ll get him†said to the regenerating victim. He turned towards him, but the man, almost completely healed, was looking in shock at his savior’s eyes “What the hell are you? Aaargh!†he ran away screaming in horror. “What has happened to me?†Saeid looked in a store window, trying to catch his reflection Did I get some sort of invulnerability? he felt the wounds on his side, but not in pain. He pulled back his costume, exposing the wounds… and almost fainted from the shock. In place of his skin there was now a skin-colored, smooth, almost silky fabric. The bullet wounds had torn this material, and now red filaments of wool were dropping out of it like blood. He looked back at the shop window, ripped away his mask and hood and saw his face, sewn from different fabrics, black wool for hair and beard and two creepy black and white cotton balls for eyes. “Oh no. Oh please no. What… what… AAAAHHHHH!†He let out a scream of horror. He checked his whole body – everything was made of fabric. “I’m a… puppet! A damn ragdoll!†he checked again his wounds: the deepest one exposed a rib, who seemed made out of white fustian. The red wool kept dropping out, and he started feeling a bit weaker “If only I could put it back†as soon as he finished the thought, the red wool filament raised and got back inside the tear, the fustian rib repositioned itself, and the silky skin closed up nicely. There was no longer any wound on the side of the WeaverDoll. Saeid was utterly astonished “This… this may come in handy… I guess, if don’t go crazy first.†He tried a couple of movements: he was more agile, faster, had a terrific balance. “I guess my powers work on me, now? Oh Merciful, how many biology laws am I violating right now? How do my eyes still see?†he pressed on his cotton corneas, and felt no pain. He shivered in abhorrence. A series of crashes got his attention. The second thug, the bladed one, was still around. Weaver lifted himself off the ground and flew at him. “Ok, Edward Scissorhands, cut it out!†he shrugged Oh, whatever, there’s no way I can avoid every pun, I might just go for the lame ones. “Come and get me, hero!†he put forward his arms, two nightmarish trees of twisted metal blades “I can cut anything you throw at me!†Weaver sprinted towards him, dodged a blow that would have torn him to pieces and landed a punch on the enemy’s chin. His soft puppet hand squeezed and twisted back, barely annoying the thug. “Wow, I felt stronger hits from a puppy!†taunted him the thug “let me show you how it’s done!†he moved forward in flash, feinted on the right and swung on the left. The main blade under his wrist sliced through Saeid’s arm, which fell down on the ground, exposing torn muscles of cotton and a yarn-worth of red wool dripping out. Hero and thug looked in shock at the doll arm on the ground. “What the f…?†the thug screamed and recoiled disgusted “What are you?†Saeid ripped away his mask, revealing his creepy doll face: he hoped that his stitched grin was even more disturbing “You know… I’m not really sure myself.†Saeid grabbed his detached arm and pushed it near the stump “But I bet I’ll get used to it†the threads of the two extremities joined, interlocked and in just a few seconds the arm was sewn back on. “What do you say you give up?†“Well, I can’t damage you… but you can’t hurt me either! So… see you, puppet hero!†he ran off behind a corner. He’s right Saeid hesitated a moment before flying after him he can cut through anything I throw at him… Oh no. he knew. Oh that’s a terrible idea. He trembled in repulsion But it would probably work. He rubbed his silky hands on his woolen beard . Oh, whatever. Just do it. He pinched the silk on his left hand and ripped it open. He grabbed a handful of rocks from the ground and stuffed them into his hand, then closed it up. His hand felt incredibly heavy, but he could still move it pretty quick. He did the same with his right hand. This is idiotic, what if this powers disappear now? He took the sky, scanning rapidly for the bladed criminal. He had just shredded a jewelry store’s shutter and was walking around with a bag full of necklaces. “You are the worst. The city is in quarantine, and you go ahead and steal stuff like the most pathetic thug on Earth! You have no style on top of no morality!†The criminal turned his head “You again? Oh for God’s sake, can’t you just understand when to qu…†he hadn’t even bothered to dodge Saeid’s punch, and it hit him like a sock full of rocks – exactly like that. The thug staggered back, tried to slice Weaver’s face, but the hero bobbed under the blade and rose up with an uppercut to the exposed chin. The criminal spat a mouthful of blood. “Not so tough now, eh?†The criminal jumped forward, pushing his blade into Weaver’s stomach, but the hero bounded his feet together with a scarf. His opponent fell face first into the asphalt, and Saeid knocked him out with a last blow to the back of the head. The blades slowly retracted into the thug’s body. Saeid sat on the sidewalk and emptied his hands from the rocks. Then, trying not to think about it, he grabbed the handful of flannel entrails that were gushing out of his belly, put them back in and sewn up his wound. He felt as if he was going to throw up, but he was too scared to see what else could come out of him. “It’s ok†he said to himself “I just need an emergency after another so that my mind doesn’t go there, until they find a cure.†Do not think about your biology. Do not think about how they can inject you the cure. Do not think on a pill resting useless on a pillow inside your belly. He took the sky, flying above the rooftops on the quarantined city filled with clumsy superpowers “Somehow, I think I can manage to distract myself.â€
