  1. "What is it you want? Anger? Peace? Ample parking?" Pausing a moment and looking at Marcus carefully. "Ample parking... I didn't read your mind, I know I am hungry and you are bigger so I figure you had to eat more." he glanced about slowly and nodded down the street. "I have a great sense of direct. If I have been to a place first. That is the problem we are having here. Not terribly far from some place that has food, I am smelling something in the air." Which was true, there was a restaurant not far from where they were, though it was likely just a hole in the wall place rather than anything special, but neither of them were looking for specific foods beyond Blue Claremont Student need food, badly.
  2. A New Challenger has arrived! Also he said he doesn't like you. Also, Elias is surprised and cannot take action. Subito able to act this round. And then Initiative is rolled.
  3. Elias shrugged a little bit as he looked at Marcus. "I understand, and it isn't something you need to do anyway. It is not like I have any pointers for you, except how to contend with anger and other emotions, but you're not very angry. They're hoping we talk... probably because our histories are similar. Or somewhat similar. Mr. Summers is pretty closed." Frowning as he moved, crossing in front of an alleyway with Marcus, and glancing about, pursing his lips a little in thought. "Food?" When in doubt teens can always bond over food. Wandering bottomless pits that they were.
  4. GM Explosions are common. Sometimes. Sometimes. In this city more so than others. Still people weren't unaffected about it. There was shrieking and screaming. It was around a bend, and off in the distance, so it was hard to tell, hard to see. What wasn't hard to see was the metallic man that crashed into the hood of a car, or more accurately he landed onto the hood of the car and his feet and legs ended up through the engine block. Subito heard the explosion, and true to form Elias was paying attention to several other things and seemed oblivious to this. So the emblematic hero managed to have his wits about him in time to see the man crush a late model station wagon, and even the look of confused terror in the faces as something more than genuinely startling happened to them.
  5. "I was five. And some people's heads are echo chambers. I didn't mean for it to happen." His expression was a bland and looking a little confused at Subito. "You're doing it again. You make a face when you aren't saying something. She thinks it is cute. Probably." Shrugging and looking off into the distance, walking along without any trouble. "No, I can stop myself from... controlling people like that. Just... I couldn't keep the information to just you, other people would feel it as well. That's not good. I-" His words cut off as...
  6. GM Deaf ears were a good thing. The sound wasn't loud. Except being just loud enough that if someone were to walk down the alley they might notice it. Deaf ears were not so much a good thing. But it allowed this little experiment to happen. The guy screamed, his back arched, and his face pressed against some of the trash, muffling the sound, before he sagged to the ground, his body limp, and his eyes almost rolled back into his skull. Then a blink and the world looked different. And another blink, as his thoughts changed. Familiar but with strong impulses that he was having a hard time to ignore. What the man didn't know was that he wasn't alone, that he was being watched. Weighed. Measured. Eyes carefully surveying what had been wrought. What would be wrought. Notes were taken.
  7. "Anything that cannot hear us maybe, too late for edible berries. You are loud. And if we are after animals I'd want to be 2 or 3 miles from camp. This is State land. We'd be poaching." Elias was careful with how he placed his feet, his eyes surveying his surroundings. "Also Cerys tends to point her feet at you when she is around you. And Tona's best bet is squirrel, unless she wants to hike. Not that I know the other two..." Thus far in school Elias had been studious and quiet. His aloof nature showing, though he largely didn't talk, and he seemed aware that he tended to stick his foot in his mouth, like just now. Pausing then. "Oh, black birch, good that'll help with my headaches." Snapping a twig off a tree limb near his face he then popped it into his mouth and started to chew, carefully. His expression becoming intent as his nostrils flared. "Creek nearby, I can smell it. If the ground gets a little moister..." He picked his way carefully among the trees and brush, and then abruptly dropped into a crouch, setting the hatchet down. "Come here Subito." His voice quiet, insistent. "Wood blewits!" Gesturing to a sizable cluster of brown, muddy looking toadstool like mushrooms. He stripped off his windbreaker and laid it on the ground to the side, and used the knife to cut mushrooms up quickly and cleanly, tossing the ones he cut onto the jacket. "Here, help. Need to cut the stems." Pausing a moment to look at his shoulder at the taller boy, still chewing on that twig.
  8. He paused a moment and looked at her, his arms rising up and folding across his chest as he watched her carefully. "I could use more training. Now, I need to learn to be quieter with my thoughts." He gestured around slowly with one arm, shrugging a little bit as he did so. "But I will be working on it." Folding his arms again. "And I can use the help." As much he had trouble dealing with it asking for help was not one of his hangups. It was just generally a wise idea. His mother had taught him better. And she made him forget somethings too, possibly some of his telekinetic abilities which would explain the stumbling. It was hard to tell. "Thank you." It was genuine, and he offered something like a smile.
  9. "Words and speech are trying to translate the concept from your mind. I can... talk directly to your mind. Though I still tend to... You would call it 'shouting.' My first few tries caused a grand mal seizure. That doesn't happen anymore. But I can replicate that if needed." He said it in such a matter of fact, not conveying really a whole lot of emotion when he did. Turning his head to look at Subito then. "I project the concept to you, and you see it in your minds eye that I would see. Though most people are afraid of doing that, or do not like the concept of that." Then his voice went distant as he looked at two people walking on the other side of the street, his hands moving up to pull the hood of his coat over his face. "Especially when you realize that controlling another's mind is the same thing, you just aren't trying to keep your thoughts separate. You murmur quietly. Lull them. So that their mind isn't even aware the thoughts aren't theirs. That fear is understandable. Lines blur. Especially when you do not watch for them."
  10. Aw c'mon Ecal, they're just monkeyin' around. :D
  11. He felt the force before it touched him, his forearms coming up and crossing over each other in an X. It was clear it wasn't a real forcefield, rather he was deflecting the force of her power around him. But that fit. How he described things was in relations to a web or a net, and that seemed to be how he viewed and understood his psionic abilities. She feel him submerge himself against her force, and rather than stand and endure, he let it moved around and over him, dissipating it as he did so. Without even thinking his body shifted to help with the thought process. Function follows form follows thought. The glow of her power hitting the ripple and moving. As she let off he dropped his arms and blinked a little processing it. "Never... Hm."
  12. He looked at her, brows knitting together in a scowl or a frown. It seemed to be more an expression that he did when he was being thoughtful over something. "Oh?" Turning his head a little, and staring at the ground. Then he nodded. "Alright." Seeing no reason to tell her no, because he needed to stretch, even if it was instinct, as he knew that his telepathic powers started as instinctual. So he clear his mind, or tried to. That part was always tricky.
  13. Elias had just wanted out of the city, if he despaired at the larger group than he had expected, he didn't say it. Though as soon as he was in this situation, he immediately adopted the mentality his mother had instilled in him. Shaking his head a little a Subito's question. "Edibles. Maybe starter and tinder. But it's too wet for wood, I think. We'll see." His mom had gone over most of the places in the U.S. so he knew how to look and where to look for such things. So he moved, pausing to pluck some lichen and moss as needed, before stopping to check on some mushrooms, frowning a little bit. "Not much this time of year."
  14. He looked at her a moment, and his expression was unreadable. It was something he was good at. Call it cultural, or something to do with growing up around high society. Whatever the reason, his poker face was good. If he had a retort he kept it zipped up as right now that bit of reparte was hardly useful for him. Instead he pulled out his phone and looked distracted as he did so. Stepping into the building, he acknowledged her, pausing a bit in the doorwar as he tapped quickly on his phone. Giving Camera Obscura enough time and space to step into the building.
  15. He took it in impassively. "I understand masks. Better than you do." Normally a pronouncement like that carried extra weight to it, be it ego or anger or something, he said it so matter-of-factly that it was almost off putting, but then he had a strange affectation with how he spoke, like he was half-paying attention to them. And more to something else. He looked at Bloduewedd for a moment, and nodding. "Why would he tell me you're pretty? And not describe Wisp like that as well." His tone conveying surprise, if somewhat stilted. Then his eyes sweeping back to Heraldo, examining him carefully. "Everyone wears a mask, don't they? Honesties they don't share. Emotions buried or hidden... I am Elias. Your word for me is telepath. Those are as much my names as not. My father came for me, and my mother had someone bring me here, telling me to go to Claremont. I do not know this place. I am not used to this many people... shutting them out is... difficult."
  16. 1d20+5=16, 1d20+5=18 So 16 on the first, and 18 on the second.
  17. Elias knelt in the Roberta Isley Garden, where he had been for some time yet. Trying to delicately reach out with his mind, so as to not disturb others. He could do it unconsciously with his telekinesis, so why couldn't he do it with his telepathy? Admittedly, he had only started to learn to try since coming here. But he was having a hard time placing in perspective, especially considering his age and inexperience. His mother could only train him so much with his powers, and she had be forceful about stopping him from reaching out and directly manipulating thoughts and memories. It felt a lot like writer's block, like something was in the way, stopping and stalling him from fully using his abilities. And he didn't know what. Specifically though, he was waiting, today for a mentor he had been told he would be getting. His knowledge of heroes was limited, but had general knowledge of names of those it could be. And he hoped that person would be able to help him.
  18. "I am supposed to learn from other psychics in the hope they'll teach me. I guess." It was hard to add things in. Hey I love my mom completely and she protected me, but she is also an unrepentant killer, and my father is a manipulative psychopath who is the loyal hound of a scary regime. That he lacked the capacity to hate, at least his mother, was telling. But what mattered to him most was that he knew there were things he didn't know. Things he had to find out. It's not exactly something he had learned how to broach, not due a lack of understanding, but being hampered by how he had to interact with others. He didn't see the parallels with Marcus' abilities, but then that wasn't really a negative thing. As each day he was keenly aware of exactly what he did not know.
  19. "I am sure... have faith. I need to practice other things too." And then he brought up his arms to intercept the blow, somewhat, and he felt the effect before it became visible, as the ripple of telekinetic force appeared, visible, and catching her blow. It wasn't like her forcefeild, and it certainly was the same. It was an instinctive reaction, one that would stop a blow that would have gotten him. Pausing a little bit, and stepping back. "See... Not that bad..." A faint smile on his face for a moment, and shrugging. "But that is kind of it for my telekinetic powers." Which was true, thus far. "Can try to show you how the web works, but... I think these works with how your mind works... I guess, never really compared powers before."
  20. "Like a web, and you are the spider. I could do it with thoughts too, but... harder, I have to scan shallower, faster. But... yes, like webs or oceans, that's how if feels. Might not work for others. Hard to explain, easier to show..." Stepping back from her, and opening his eyes, he looked at her, watching her now. "Throw a few punches at me, I'll show you what else I can do with my telekinesis." It wasn't trust, so much as, she might understand it more, and help him get better as his abilities, which was a decidedly good idea. Besides, he needed to sharpen his abilities, and Kristin was willing to help, and she wasn't put off by him. "If it would be easier, I can show you how it works, but it's not something I've learned to do, it just always how I have done it.
