  1. He didn't make a further sound or at Heraldo before he was grabbed and lifted into the air. "It is an aerosol dispersal unit for the nanites. He was going to do a test. As some point it got banged up, and keeps wanting to release the nanites." Elias' tone was neutral as he kept fiddling with it. "I resetting the countdown is easy... but it keeps starting the countdown back up after the reset." There was a beat after Subito added that line. "Now is not the time to regret life choices Subito, that would have been when you leaped towards the metal man, besides I am the one at greater risk."
  2. "...And everyone else's." Elias said it matter-of-factly. Though he was afraid of being swallowed up by all their thoughts, that was not his primary concern now. He needed to rein his abilities in. That was a bit more complicated, as right now his power was more a shotgun blast, and he needed it to be a sniper shot. He watched for a moment and then closed his eyes and remained kneeling on the wall. Not so much to realign his focus as to just close his eyes. "They say I have a problem. In controlling my abilities. They are right. Or close enough to being right." Stubble had started to grow in on his scalp, and he lifted a hand to rub it absently, before he shifted, and stretched his legs out, and leaned forward, hands gripping at the soles of his feet as he drew his face to his knees.
  3. The disconnect was sudden and both he and the man had a sharp arrhythmic breath then, their hearts even skipping. He said nothing as he was grabbed and lifted away, landing on the roof, he frowned a little, glancing to the satchel and opening it. He knelt down and pulled out a small metal device out of it. "This was what was important to him..." Fingers playing with the device, before he 'opened' it, and a center cylinder, and he pulled another part on it, and a side panel slide out, and he examined it, frowning a little bit until his full mask. "Nanites. We need to get it somewhere... Water. Over the water. There is a timer, or something, fly me, I'll work on keeping it inactive."
  4. There was a moment of awkward silence, as he looked off to the side. "I learned to dodge. I... my mother trained me for that. I can learn swiftly" He frowned then, clearly at a loss of words, then glanced to her. "You don't have to worry about being self conscious with me. I am aware I act oddly, at least to the rest of you, so if I stare I am studying your movements, memorizing them." Not that he found her unattractive, he just never really thought about the physical appeal of a person, honestly. So in a way Subito's joke about an alien princess was as apt as anything else. "You are the best choice at the school to learn how to fight from, I need the mentality as much as the physicality... And you can help me with that." He didn't state it as a joke, it was just a fact. Mali physique looked like it sculpted from stone.
  5. Amir saw the flicker of her effort to reign in, to control the situation. He found her amusing, but now wasn't the time to goad her. Now was the time to focus on the man before him him. Smiling warmly, he took the man's hand and shook it. Even without his powers he was strong, but he also never played the war of who could squeezed hard. Eye contact, 2 or 3 pumps, and clean break. Merge was learning about Asad's main credo, Never let them see you sweat, ever. And one had to give him credit, he adapted to changes quite well, and at no point was it conceivable that he couldn't be in control. Even if he clearly wasn't. "Please, please, I keep my ears out. And when I see people having interesting idea I do often follow up, schedule permitting." A small, conspiratorial grin then to the man. Amir was a charmer, but not overtly, he simple made the person he was talking to feel important. "I hope my showing up does not cause a problem..." Letting the sentence dangle, waiting for the reassurance that would follow, these kinds of talks were a game, a game he was good at.
  6. And Elias Mind Blast is launched again: 1d20+7=16 So another Bruised and another Stun.
  7. Uh... So I am going to refund that HP, as Stunned he would be essentially flatfooted. So the first roll hit. 1d20+7=20 And Mantiger takes another Bruise Mantiger 2 Bruised, Demoralized
  8. "He is unconscious. That makes this harder..." After several more moments his hand dropped, and he stared at the man for a moment, before walking to him, and picking up the bag that had been slung over his shoulder. "I need to... " For a moment the sync was lost, and then he stared back at the man, plunging back into his consciousness. Clutching the bag, and slowly opening it, his eyes never leaving the man. And then took a few steps back, and tore his gaze from the man and looked down into the bag. "Heraldo, we need to go. Now."
  9. "I will learn them too." His hands dropped to his sides as he looked at her. He spoke in such a deadpan fashion it was hard to tell if he was being anything other than serious, as his expression was deadly so. But he nodded at her words then, and lowered his head a little bit. "I what I am getting myself into, I know how hard it is. But I am willing." He arched a brow a little as he looked at her then, his hands still at his sides. "Overspecialization breeds weakness."
  10. Elias felt the manbeast's weight shift, and realized that that he would try to get away, and while he didn't want to escalate further, he knew that the Mantiger was like an angry, wounded animal right now. "" And his hands went to his head, and he held it tightly as he lashed out at the consciousness of the Manbeast. The backlash of it was not fun, he felt the pain of the manbeast, as his power overwhelmed for a moment. As the mantiger's hands gripped at his head and he sank to his knees for a moment, before getting back up on wobbling legs.
  11. Mantiger's resist for the Mind Blast! 1d20+7=14 So Mantiger takes a Bruise and is Stunned.
  12. (21:44:26) GranspearZX: TOU check: (1d20+11=24) TOU check: (1d20+11=24)
  13. "None of them suit me. But people will be after me, and I can't have something they can exploit." And he mimicked her knee, though it lacked the force she had. But he still tried. He would still try, the set of his face. It was clear that Elias that kind of stubborn guy who was not apt to back down. And then he threw a punches incorporating the footwork she spoke of. That part was easy for him to grasp, again. The hitting part was trickier, or at least it would be, as he'd have to compensate for a little while. Plus this gave him an understanding of what work he had to do with himself. And then he stopped, realizing his statement was a little murky. "I... cannot shut off my abilities all the way, so if I hit someone I will feel it, to some degree."
  14. Nodding at her words, and he looked down. Seemingly not fazed by her physicality, unlike others. He studied her movements with intent. He had to learn. Other people had learned it. His father. His mother. They were out there, and they were something to contend with. To deal with. "I see." It did, it made sense, it was the same principle that he had been taught when his mother had taught him how to avoid getting hit, so why couldn't it apply to an actual fight. Nodding again, he looked up at her face briefly. "It makes sense." And then he mirrored her stance moving his feet a little. "Like this?"
  15. The cafeteria was largely empty now. Fortunately. There was a small commotion at people teleporting in, but fortunately most of those people were students, or were recently students. Elias had teleported before. Never something of his choice, but still. That didn't mean that he was any less effected by it. The sudden change in surroundings, and he was gasping for breath, his eyes closed a little, as his senses reeled and recovered then. Aware of his surroundings after a moment, and then he moved to sit down on a bench at one of the cafeteria tables and ducking his head down, elbows on his knees and his hands clasped together back behind the back of his head and neck. He had done it before. He was not fond of it. After a moment, he waved a hand at them. "Have other senses... takes a moment to recover. If there are questions you want to ask now is the time, and can someone get me some water, please?"
  16. "I am aware of it's existence, and could probably ballpark what I remember the licensing costs to be. Also I know that the premise of the show requires all the characters be more than a little idiotic about not being able to recognize who she is. But then while I do not have children, I have employees that do." And then she let the other shoe drop, and he nodded at that, he leaned towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Do not fret over this. Everyone has secrets, given my last six months or so I was have expecting you to be a Grue replacement." And then he showed her that smile, and gave her a conspiratorial wink.
  17. "That's good, I haven't really learned how to fight. Well, I learned how to dodge." Shrugging a little bit and he squared off against the bag, in a left handed stance. And he threw a few punches, clearly lacking her power, but then that was largely a given, and something she had to be used to by now. But he knew how to throw a punch, there was follow through, his hips moved with the blow. And as expected from what he said, he kept a good bit of distance from himself and the bag, which did leave him open. And his footwork certainly needed quite a bit of work.
  18. "I am sorry, I know you are engrossed. I need help. I would like to learn how to fight." Aware of her dislike of being looked at so intently Elias turned his head and looked off to the side. His mother had given his rudimentary training, though she had more taught him how to avoid combat, and to dodge. Less a concern to engage. However that didn't stop his father from finding them, that didn't mean he would be able to successfully avoid matters, and with the mad rant that Dorothy said, and the feelings of other he knew that the fire of irrationality could be lit easily. "I do not have any powers to help me with that, and I've already had difficulty dealing with people who are resistant to my abilities."
  19. The fact that her punches sounded like gunshots was enough to get Elias to look at her, he had seen her around, but had not seen her. At least in her normal training attire. So he stared, but it wasn't the kind of gawking she would be used to. He was studying her movements, committing them to memory. His hand going to the bag he had been working on, stilling it with his palm, as he canted his head to the side. At this point Elias was known by most of the students. While he was known as the odd telepath, it wasn't until he had 'shouted' while looking for a vandal that people understood the scope of his abilities, as pretty much everyone in the school had heard him. That he could reach out and touch pretty much anyone. And the response to had been to people loudly thinking of stupid topics around him, in the hopes of confounding him. On the plus side, it meant that he had a lot more physical space afforded him, though that wasn't worth the whispers. Having nothing to lose, except the structural integrity of his clavicle, he walked over to Mali. "Excuse me?"
  20. GM With another roar the beastman ducked under the blow, despite his slowed reactions and cowed reaction, it was clear from the glint in the beast's eyes that he was driven by rage, fear and confusion right now. He lunged at the larger Arcturus, swinging his outstretched hand at him, raking his claws against his hide once again. After that, another roar, and he had shaken off whatever it was that had slowed him down. Though now the beast was looking for avenues of escape, planning on doing whatever he could to get away now. Aware that it was currently a stalemate.
  21. Attack to Arc: 1d20+11=26 Will Resist Slow. (1d20+7=21) So unSlowed after this turn.
  22. Hit! Yay for a Slow effect. 1d20+7=26 Errr... Yanno what. I am gonna fudge that. Because, seriously, there is someone else lined up for this thread. So. Tigerman takes a bruised.
  23. And then he paused, arching a brow as he stared ahead. "Poetical? Never imagined that." He let it sit like that for a moment before he spoke, his normal tone, it was hard to really get through to him, after all he tended to speak in a way that seemed so measured, so reserved. So much so that Subito's Scion of Sobek comment made a lot more sense. "They are mercenaries or were mercenaries, and assassins during and prior to my life. My father believes Psion's teachings, somewhat. My mother is a killer, and she has done a great many things to keep me away from New Freedom and my father. My father believes I inherited his abilities, I did not. Still he wants me to fulfill some sort of legacy, it's pride and desire to possess. He and some of his goons came to where we were living. My mother had a contingency. Going to Freedom City and getting Claremont. The hope is I would be protected. I am glossing over details. New Freedom has something like public transportation, but it isn't a subway system. It is in Antartica even if the stretch of land is terraformed. I left there when I was about five, but I still remember the place..." He drifts off for a moment, and then turning then to him. "So is it control? Yes. My concerns for my maintaining of control are numerous, but not for the same reason. I am aware of how much we are truly interconnected. I don't have an easy explanation to you. I just don't. Just like I don't have an interest in finding someone to spend my time with. I have to maintain my sense of self." Shaking his head slowly and when they came back to camp, he carried his arms load along. "Besides, my tragedies are everyone else's tragedies. I don't see them as worse, just a piece of what I am now." Setting his load down carefully, and Elias's voice lowered carefully, showing he was aware of some measure of the feelings of others, or better put, he could act on it. "Don't question why she likes you. She does. I am aware you are nervous, that's why I bring it up. Like I said, all connected. So I get... impatient when a person's hangups get in the way of things. People complicate things needlessly." His head tilted a little as he glanced over his shoulder at Subito, and then to Cerys. "You people do not know how loud someone's dream can be, I do not look forward to being near two couples tonight." "Cerys, would you mind getting some band-aids for Subito please." Looking back to to Subito then, "You can learn how to do it. It isn't that hard. In this I can actually teach you. Using the knife that is."
  24. Once more Elias reached out, this time gritting his teeth with a bit more determination, his powers reaching out once again, and this time he felt it sink in. This time he managed to start pushing information through the mantiger's mind. And it worked, as he started to just stream information through that mind, making his muscles twitch and spasm, enough to slow, but not enough to really put a half to what the beast was doing. It wasn't a complete victory. But it was working, and hopefully give Marcus an edge.
