  1. Ace's distraction with the party had given her time to focus on following his lead so that when he began making small talk, Phantom was able to look up from their feet and make eye contact under her cowl. "Considering your lifespan, Mr. Danger, I think a great many of us might be included in that assumption," she paused for a twirl before adding with an amused chuckle, "Not that it makes it any less accurate."
  2. Alex blinked again as Eddie was off without a response, but she shrugged and assumed that she'd probably over-answered a question again. With a little bit of an unsteady take off, Alex kicked herself aloft and flung the frisbee at Eddie with a happy smile. By far the least athletic of the kids, Alex spent more time missing and doggedly chasing the frisbee than the rest of them but she did so with such unrelenting good cheer that it was hard to get frustrated with her general ineptitude. Alex doubted she'd ever fly with the ease that came to everyone else but it was enough to be able to float aloft. "We could always do teams or something, too. I'll be someone's handicap." Alex teased, joking about her own lack of skill.
  3. Alex blinked, looking startled at Eddie's sudden arrival although she recovered quickly and gave him a shy smile at his question. "Oh, uhm, its something I've been working on the theories of. I can fly 'cuz I manipulate myself in relation to the rest of the world. Calculating trajectories n' stuff like that. Right now my brains just doing all the hard work for Erin, translating her movement into motion. So, she flies just like I do as long as I concentrate on it. Its just a little tiring. But good mental exercise." Alex tilted her head up at him as she pushed off the ground, "Its how my powers work, they're all psychic. If you mean how do you do stuff like that, I dunno how your powers work well enough to guess yet."
  4. Phantom frowned up at the hole in the roof of the bank, clearly tempted to give pursuit, before she cocked her head and listened for the sirens. "First things first, these would be thieves need to be handed over to Freedom's finest. Then, we'll see if we can track down their ringleader," she turned and lifted a brow at Ace with what was distinctly a slightly challenging smile. She had caught the pointed glance at the amulet. "If you're up for it, of course?"
  5. Electa's correct, that's the ruling I was going off of to build Alex's stunted power :)
  6. Phantom does not trip over her own feet on her way to the dance floor: 22 Also, Grim, its likely Phantom would notice that once she's close enough to Grin to filter out the ambient magical noise. :D
  7. It would take a far more stalwart individual than Phantom to turn down Ace Danger at his own party. She grimaced slightly, internally cringing at her own deplorable lack of skills, before she lifted her chin once more almost defiantly. With a slight smile, she solidified and placed one cool gloved hand in his. Once her booted feet touched the ground, she really had to look up at him and silently thanked the slight heel to the boot that gave her a little bit of a lift. "How can I say no?" She asked with only a hint of irony and silently prayed that Ace would be good enough to make her look better than bumbling.
  8. "Oh, that's a wonderful idea!" Alex enthused with a beaming grin, looking relieved, "That's exactly what he needs, I think. You're the best, Erin." Alex followed Erin's gaze as Mike touched down with envious ease and she didn't miss the longing in her friend's face. "I think we're ready to break for a bit, Mike. An' I have an idea." Alex scrunched her face up in concentration, a look Mike at least had seen before countless times when Alex was trying to learn to fly. Clearly she had something up her sleeve. The sparkly aura that always surrounded Alex when she flew formed around her then began to morph and wiggle like it was being manipulated by someone who couldn't quite get it do what she wanted it to do. Finally the field expanded outward and surrounded Erin as well. Alex opened her eyes and blew a strand of red hair out of her face, looking both pleased and tired from that little trick, "There! I think you should float like I can, Erin! Just, uhm, be careful. It takes a bit to get used to the manuevering."
  9. I'm gonna stunt Psyche's Flight into Flight 1: Extras: Affects Others, Area, Flaw: Distracting (No dodge bonus while in use).
  10. And, I should add, I've used my HP to reroll that. My original roll was a 7 but trying to get the page to copy, my browser crashed so I lost the link.
  11. Phantom hovered, half in the stone wall and half within the cell itself, her cloak once again closed around her form. "The longer you talk, the more time your partner spends hanging in an endless void." Phantom pointed out coldly, "Without food or water or hope of seeing the sky again. The longer you put this off, the longer that she'll suffer. If you tell us where you're from and why you're here, we might be able to come to an accord. I, personally, have all night. How long do you have?"
  12. Alex flipped over on her back to watch the boys, pillowing her head on her hands, "No, I wish. He's only going to go if someone makes him and I bet he'd just sulk on one corner of the couch giving monosyllabic answers mixed with grunts. Even I'm not allowed to bring it up and Mike doesn't ever get mad at me. Like, ever!" She pursed her lips, frowning at Mike's problems, "He won't use any of his powers unless you nag and nag and nag, and I know he at least loves to fly. Mike just needs to realize that its his choices that make the difference, not his powers. An idiot with a gun could have done the same damage, but the choice is all in pulling the trigger. It's not his fault that he was a little kid with powers no little kid should have to deal with. I think he needs, like, a mentor."
  13. Phantom fired one last bolt dropping the final criminal. she slanted a look, taking in the frightened but otherwise unarmed patrons before she tilted her head up to scowl at the open holein the roof and the rapidly receeding villains. "Are you alright?" She asked Ace.
  14. Phantom returned fire with fire. Or more accurately bullets with another eldritch blast. This one at the individual that had fired at Ace.
  15. Taylor shook off the illusion as she stepped out, now clad in the billowing cloak and cowl of the Phantom. Without saying a word, she stepped and pivoted neatly, bolts of crackling eldritch power slaming into the crook at the till and sending him flying across the room. He hit the desk hard enough to crumple it before slumping into unconciousness. Phantom spun, cape flaring behind her as she lifted fingertips still wreathed with flickers of lightning and glared at the ring leader. Her voice thundered in the shocked silence. "You could surrender now and save me some trouble. It would be a wise move."
  16. Alex blinked as Eddie rocketed to the ground in front of her. She tenativelly touched his thoughts before chuckling. Deep down he wants to belong as much as any of us do but he's just afraid of what he could do. Alex projected the thoughts to Erin as well although she was careful again not to push to hard. Alex wrinkled her nose thinking for a moment before she recalled their first day at Claremont. She paused and reached into her backpack, pulling out a day glo green nerf frisbee. "I brought this for after we were done with lunch. Maybe Mike will play with you while Erin and I finish up here. Then we'll have even numbers for teams!" She turned a hopeful, pleading look at Mike as she wiggled the soft disc before handing it to Eddie. "Don't be afraid of tossing it too high. Mike needs the flight practice."
  17. They're more kinetic than energy so mostly they'd punch holes in the car than anything else. But, bolts of magic are always wonky things :)
  18. Phantom turned slowly to follow Knieval with her glowing eyes as she rose slowly high in the air above the smushed car. It wasn't worth staying in range if the Captain had something else in his sleeve. She fired bolts of crackling black energy at the captain once she was hovering about thirty feet above.
  19. Swing and a miss with Phantom's blast, Q: Miss! and a question. Vestige is PL10. Autofire bonus lets you go above the hard cap damage bonus?
  20. Phantom's lips flattened in annoyance at Grim's sarcastic commentary and actually looked ruffled for a moment. Now I remember why I work alone, Phantom thought sourly. No one ever wants to understand the delicate intricacies of the multiverse when they can smart off instead. Once Scarab started talking, Phantom turned her attention to the scarlet and gold heroine. Phantom floated up to take a better look at the map and added, "Can you also nullify their ability to 'port back to their home dimension? I can, but I have to be close enough to touch them. Once we are finished with them, and the situation has concluded, they will have to be returned home. They cannot remain in this world" Once the mystic had received her answers, she teleported away from the group, her cloak collapsing ever inward until it vanished completely. She reappeared the same way on the camera in the cell, her cloak flaring wide as the male of the duo was released onto the cell's floor. It had been a little over an hour for Rave locked in the sensory-less void of Phantom's cloak.
  21. 21 to hit with my magic blast on the one closest to us. Krack-POW!
  22. Despite her attention on the boys, Alex remained on her stomach on the blanket although her slender body had tensed from head to foot. She bit her lower lip, her worried gaze still on Mike as she replied to Erin. "Mike and I've always had our powers. Like, forever and always. When we were little, he... hurt another kid. Real bad. It was an accident and he didn't understand that he was so very strong then. I mean, we were, like, five. Its why he's so touchy about stuff with his powers. With everything, really. I knew it was gonna come up eventually. He hasn't stormed off which is good!" Despite the fact that the boys were far enough away, Alex was almost whispering as she guiltily confessed Mike's big secret. "I should let him deal with it on his own. I mean, he has to but... Maybe a little help would be okay?" A line appeared between her brows as she focused and reached out as gently as possible to touch Eddie's thoughts. She was careful to project just her mental tone and made certain she wasn't reading any of his inadvertantly, Eddie, uhm, its Alex? Don't worry, I'm just sending you my 'voice'. I can't even hear your response with this kinda connection. Uhm. Don't feel bad. You've hit a subject even I'm not allowed to talk 'bout. And that's supposed to be an appology in Mike-speech. He's really bad with them.
  23. Taylor spun at the crash, hands lifting automatically to form a gesture for a spell but she forced her fingertips to relax as she reminded herself that Taylor did not use bolts of magic to blast people with and that standing at the window, she was on camera. Instead, she began to ease slowly to the side. Ace was also able to hear the young woman muttering to herself with a creative command of Cantonese invective. Taylor was halfway tempted to let the bank get robbed but it went against her grain. Perhaps after she saved the day someone might be able to cash her blasted check. The eye of Heshem pulsed once at her throat as she absorbed the check under her fingertips into the void before she stepped away from the teller's desk. Poised and alert, Taylor's expression was far more determined than a frightened college student at gun point ought to be.
