  1. Count in Phantom :)
  2. It would help if I made my to hit roll. I blame the 8 hour drive / 3 hour sleep combo. Woo! Her first to hit sucked: 13 I'm gonna spend my second hp for the combat to reroll that: 14 (24 w/ +10 for the hp)
  3. Letsee if we can grapple 'Magpie' with Phantom's TK: 35
  4. Alex turned quickly on one low heeled shoe and tilted her face up at the young man with a bright smile. "Oh! Yes, well, that is Mr. Summers suggested I attend although this wasn't quite what I thought it was when he first mentioned it," the words bubbled up rapidly before she visibally shook herself, "I'm sorry. I tend to talk a lot. I'm Alex. Alex Albright." She extended one hand politely, her cheeks pinkened from embarrassment but her smile never wavered. Her nails were short and neat and the pale hand fine boned.
  5. Phantom's search for the other assailant was abrupty halted as the winged hero dropped in suddenly. As she was used to things passing through her form, instead of flinching she merely gave Knight a single slow blink as she focused on his features. Her eyes glowed faintly behind her black mask with no discernable pupil or iris. "Phantom," she volunteered, almost abruptly, but she did extend one gloved hand to his. Her fingertips passed right through his palm, without any discernable sensation save for a chill caused by there wake, "Be careful. There are two of them." She glanced down at 'Raven' with a scowl, "See if you can find the tiny terror." 'Tiny Terror'? My words come out so corny sometimes in costume. "I'll deal with our 'friend' down below." Phantom floated down, her hands holding the cape out as she landed silently next to the pretender's head. As she dropped, she flung the cloth out, letting the folds billow and crackle ominously as she went to engulf the stunned imposter inside their inky folds. It took seconds for Raven to dissapear inside with a final snap of eldritch energy.
  6. To hit with dimensional portal. 1d20+4=7 Lowsy roll. I'll use one of those HP to reroll that. 1d20+4=11 (so, 21) That's a bit better.
  7. Alex threw herself into her mother's arms, giving her a huge hug and a beaming reassuring smile. "I'll be fine, Mom. Honest. You're only a thought away after all. I promise to call lots and send pictures. Don't worry. This will be a good place for us. I can tell." She gave her mom a kiss on the cheek before she stepped back and clutched her bag, managing to look both misty-eyed and happy at the same time, "'Sides, I already have friends!" Erin was clearly included in the sweeping gesture of 'friends' as Alex scampered back to take her place with the group.
  8. Alex took a self concious step closer to Michael as the cop faded, leaving only mocking laughter. Her hazel eyes nervously searched the mall food court in the wake of the illusion. She caught her lower lip between her teeth, a telling sign of her nerves and her mental voice whispered in his thoughts, Those kids in the picture. That's Rant n' Rave. I saw them on tv one time when they got arrested. They cause lots of destruction in their wake. I sure hope they're not around! She reached back to touch the wallet in her backpocket, making certain that was still there before she gave Mike's arm a reassuring pat, and added aloud, "We'll just have to keep our eyes open."
  9. Alex's isn't great but better than her usual photos (Diplomacy Untrained)
  10. "Uhm, I don't have those sort of powers," Alex confessed with a worried fown as she held still for the measurements. She scampered off to the side as soon as possible and retrieved her backpack as she watched the others get measured for their uniforms.
  11. Alex grinned and announced cheerfully, "Well, I'll happily come to any events the two of you put together but I am still not allowed near anything like powertools. I know it looks like they're all normal fingers, but I swear they're all thumbs." She wiggled her fingertips for emphasis after putting everything carefully away in her backpack. "I bet we'll be busy, though. You were right, Erin. This place is huge and it'll take some getting used to. Not to mention placement tests and all that will take up some time. I'm trying to convice Mike that he should try out sports. Non-contact sports, but sports nonetheless. I'm not a physical person m'self."
  12. Alex smoothed the skirt of her ankle-length dress for the thirty-second time since they'd piled into the car that was driving them to the embassy. When the school counselor had suggested this activity, Alex had more figured it would be like some sort of school study program where she'd go be the student intern and file paperwork. When the delicate invitation had come she'd had near palpatations. She'd done research on the embassy and frantically gone through her warddrobe. She still wasn't certain that the dark cap sleeve dress with it's white waist sash was acceptable. So she fretted silently and smoothed her skirt again. She'd left her hair down and clipped it back from her face with a simple barret in the back and instead of a beaten backpack, she'd slipped a notepad and a few pens into a slim leather folio that sat almost forgotten on the seat next to her. For once, she wasn't chattering a mile a minute although she gave the car's companion occasional glances up from her lap and she'd responded with her usual warmth and enthusiasm to any conversational openings, Alex was at a bit of a loss for polite chatter as what she really wanted to ask was desperate questions about what the other student knew about the event. As they pulled up, she glanced up through the window and pressed her fingertips against the glass lightly, "Wow, have you ever been here before?"
  13. There's nothing else I need. I didn't know if the power checks were happening in this thread or not Either way it was fun!
  14. Alex glanced up from having her nose burried in the schedual and various brochures to greet Erin with a welcoming smile, "Sounds awesome! I'm trying to decide what language lab to squeeze in." She bounced up, braids flying with her usual abundance of energy to meet up with Erin, chattering non stop. Alex was obviously in near heaven between all the wonders of summer school and her enthusiasm showed. "I'd guess that we'll be in more classes this summer and then how many we're all in together in the fall depends on how much overlap we have have in our placement needs. And which electives we pick. Mike's thinking of theater though just probably the tech stuff. He likes building things with his hands."
  15. Alex smiled bemusedly at the girl's exit and commented to Erin, "It seems like everyone here goes by nicknames, hunh?" She made quick effort to stow everything away in an organized enough way that it would be easy to finish unpacking later on. Clothes and eye-jarring bedding went on the top bunk to be put away later. The box of books was pushed next to her desk with the laptop and accessories carefully put on top of it. The smaller box of photos and desk accessories (also in bright colors) were set next to the laptop. And a tube of rolled posters was tucked next to the door. It took her a few moments to transfer things to a hot-pink backpack which she swung over one shoulder as she hustled back to the group.
  16. Alex was just turning away from putting her things away on her side of the room at the bubbly greeting. She'd dropped the bag of clothing on the bed to be put away later and had been setting the much larger collection of books and other assorted more important things on her desk. Alex gave a bewildered smile as her hand was vigorously pumped, "Hi, I'm Alex and certainly a new person. We're just dropping our things off in this room. It's going to be ours." She nodded to Erin to include her in the 'ours' statement and continued cheerfully, "I didn't catch your name? Are there a lot of new people here?"
  17. Alex didn't wince but her glance flicked from the teacher to her soon-to-be roommate. She didn't know what 'situation' Erin had, but she seemed to be as fond of people bringing it up as Mike was as of the 'incident'. Without really knowing the situation, she tried to ease any tension by asking, "Neat, what sort of work-study?" as if the teacher had been addressing both of them. "I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do after school, I mean, it would be nifty to try a few things out. I've been considering trying to work with locating missing kids with my talents but I don't even know what sort of job that would be. I mean, probably law enforcement but the whole meta-human thing comes up then. What do you think, Erin?"
  18. "Neat!" Alex opinioned, looking around curiously. "You'll have all sorts of room here, Mike. We shoulda bought more posters. Does he have a roommate coming in?" The pigtailed girl skirted out of the way politely, holding her hands out for her bags so Mike could put things away. Although knowing him, he'd probably just upend everything on a bed to sort later. She volunteered quietly to the teacher, "I brought my laptop from home."
  19. Alex pulled her hand back from Mike's arm to blatantly gawk at the surroundings. She obviously continued to listen as her expressive face brightened at the discussion of the library. She wandered away from the teacher as her mother asked the typical mother letting her only baby go to school sort of questions to examine the posters and sign up sheets curiously. She filed away the information available, before strolling over towards the electronics, her backpack still clutched against her chest like a talisman.
  20. Alex took another step closer to Mike, resting a calming hand on his arm. She didn't speak aloud, choosing to send her thoughts along their private link. That's why they have all these adults here, Mike. To make sure everyone is safe. Don't worry. Everything'll be just fine. I promise. It took her a moment to catch up to the conversation thread but when she did, Alex gave Erin a shy smile, "I'd like that a lot, if its alright with Erin. I don't snore or anything, honest."
  21. Seeing the conflict in front of her, Phantom decided that she could ignore the buzzing for the moment. Hopefully the miniature villian would take a few moments more figuring out how to hit someone that was only half there. Instead she raised both hands and her brow wrinkled in concentration. It was tempting just to blast away with power, but she didn't want to risk hitting the other hero. Instead she focused on focusing the crackling black energy between her hands at something that would stun the behemoth instead. The power collected around her hands and hit 'Raven' with a krack-pow!
  22. To hit the Raven with Stun DC 20 Will save
  23. Alex let out a laugh that, to Mike at least, would betray her lingering nerves. She gave a little wave of 'hello' to the new face - literally! - and introduced herself quickly. "Thank you. I'm Alex. So we can, uhm, use our powers here?" She questioned curiously. Not that most of her powers were showy but she could sure use some practice flying! She glanced at 'Eel-Skin' and then over to the group of kids playing then took an unconcious step closer to Mike and Erin, although her smile was still warm. "I bet that makes frisbee more interesting. Are there sports teams for the school?"
  24. Alex turned her attention to the teacher, catching her lower lip once more between her teeth in an obvious nervous tick, "Uhm. Dropping our bags off would be great, I'm sure. If it's okay with everyone else?" She glanced back for clarification then wrinkled her nose at Mike. She didn't touch his thoughts on their psi-link but she might as well have as she gave him a warning look about his attitude. When she swung her attention back to the teacher, she fidgeted again for a moment before the questions started spilling out of her eagerly, "Do we need to take any sort of questionare on roommates? How do we pick classes? Do you already have our records? I'm sure you do. When does summer school start?" Alex fell into step, her bags clutched a little awkwardly but her attention was rapt on the teacher.
