  1. Walking home I posted for her. If I need to change it lemme know.
  2. Taylor happened to be hoofing it back from visiting friends that had graduated and moved to the nicer end of downtown, debating the whole 'personal gain' aspects of teleporting herself back home. True, it might result in the complaints of eldritch energy bothering her neighbors again. Maybe the blacklight excuse would work once again? The booming voice and shriek of metal got her attention quickly enough and while the other pedestrians either gawked or screamed and fled, Taylor reached up to touch the amulet nestled at her throat. So much for an evening off. With a crackle of light, her civvies vanished to the void and Phantom's signature cape billowed out around her, its folds continuing to pulse with that fell otherworldy aura as she floated up silently as the debris passed through her body, glancing at the already mounting damage. Super hero battles were always messy. She hated city fights the most. Her gaze flicked to the other superhero swooping into the fight. Well, at least it was two-on-one-really-big-guy. One really big, crazy super villian that was running around in someone else's costume. And her friends said she needed to get out more. A wry smile twisted her lips before she spoke. "First warning's the last one, big guy." Phantom warned, her voice echoing hollowly as she raised up her hands to cast.
  3. Alex gave a little gesture that seemed to say 'that sort of prank' as she let herself out of the car door, giving their tour guide a sunny smile that didn't seem to be the least discomfited. Or surprised. "Hello, I'm Alex. Alex Albright. It's a pleasure to meet you." She rattled off politely and extended one slim hand as the other clutched her jacket and backpack almost nervously.
  4. Phantom's notice is not so hot tonight, she was distracted by the 50 ft super hero. Initiave.
  5. Well, I would guess Phantom as that sounds closer to the rest of the kids in PL and lifestyle.
  6. Alex glanced up at the roof, curiously as she noticed the faint sound of... something. After a sweeping glance detected nothing she caught her lip between her teeth and almost hesitantly reached out with her thoughts to detect what was going on. Just her luck this would be some sort of ethics test that she would promptly fail. She made certain to keep her touch as light as possible as she really didn't need more that just the surface of what... whoever... was thinking. When all she found was anticipatory glee about showing off skills, she relaxed and reached out to grab at Mike's sleeve. The last thing he needed on his first day was a repeat of the 'incident', so she said loud enough for Erin to hear as well, "I think we may be about to be treated to our first high school prank. There's no threat from it though."
  7. Lets see if we can get some surface thoughts to figure out the motivations of said individual
  8. Alex did alright. That's with Enhanced Wisdom activated.
  9. Alex took the backseat, not quite pressing her nose to the glass of the window as they headed towards Bayview and Claremont, but not far from it as she fidgeted in place occasionally. Every now and again, she touched Mike's thoughts as they were far too old for her to grab at his hand anymore but she found the mental contact steadying. "I'm sure there isn't anything to worry about," Alex injected confidence in her voice, "I mean, its only high school. Right?"
  10. Its fine with me. Up to Sandman :)
  11. Internally, Alex sighed and shook off the twinge of pain from her best friend's usual oblivious commentary. She added another mental check-mark to 'stupid things that Mike said', her ever growing list of things to make him make up for in their post-college years and forced a smile as she scooped up the books to take them to the counter, Mike firmly in tow. "Your movie means your buying. I'm going to get a soda bigger than my head." She said cheerfully before carefully counting out the crisp bills on the counter from her horded book fund. "And those chocolate covered raisens that you hate."
  12. Alex gave a dismissive shrug at Mike and explained to Erin, "I'm not like a super-genius or anything. I don't build ray-guns in the backyard or anything but I'm on the gifted spectrum. I'm super patient though. Maybe too patient 'cause I know Mike would rather I just do the work for him sometimes. I'm sure they'll test all our aptitudes and then we can come up with a plan of attack from there. Simple!" She thumped Mike on the shoulder at his self-depricating humor and chided gently, "You do fine. I keep telling you not compare us. People have different strengths, and even learning methods. Which you would know if you ever paid half-attention to my ramblings."
  13. "I'll help you study, if you like," Alex offered Erin quickly, words tumbling out over each other, "I've helped out in study groups and stuff before. Not that you should feel pressured or anything, because, I mean, we've just met today but I'd be happy to, and, uhm. Yeah." She blushed furiously and took a sip of her soda, leaving Mike to answer the more difficult question of what grade the pair were in.
  14. Basically, yes. She's no longer wholy of the material plane but equally part of the transitive dimensions which makes her in effect part spirit in this world.
  15. "Maybe we'll have to fill out a questionnare. We can hardly be the only kids that have certain, uhm, peculiarities about our space, right?" Alex wrinkled her nose at Erin, looking much relieved at the the others opinions. "I hope we have some flexibility in our class choices," she added as an aside, "They'll also probably give us the rules and all that. I don't think there's a uniform, though."
  16. Innate body changery like the early spectre. Basically, everything not in her array are fundemental phisiological changes from becoming no longer wholey of this dimension. The magical array is actual learned magic.
  17. Alex nodded her agreement, having bolted her food once Mike picked up the conversational thread, "It'll be wierd. I mean, they have to have some sort of way to change rooms if you're completely incompatible with your roommate, right? Or if they, you know, can't stand you?" Alex said it nonchalantly but her wide eyes were worried and she twisted her napkin. This was her biggest concern with the new school as sharing living quarters with an antagonistic roommate would be hard for a psychic, to say the least.
  18. "Well..." Alex sucked in a breath, ignoring Mike's groan, as she launched into an impromptu histoy lesson, obviously warming to her subject. Mike had obviously already heard all of this before if his prolonged sighs were any indication. "The school itself has been around for absolute ages. Originally, it wasn't co-ed, of course, but Claremont was destroyed - like much of the city - during the invasion. After it was wrecked, the current headmaster bought it and turned it into this super elite academy." Alex's eyes sparkled and she waved her hands vaguely as she continued to rattle off factoids, "It's invite only - super private - and though there are certainly 'better' schools, I would theorize that its equiped to deal with a more unique student body than most."
  19. Your post was fine with me I would have replied last night but went to bed early. I'm working on that next.
  20. With no complaint from the rest of the car, Mrs. Albright guided the car out of the winding airport roads and towards the nearest cluster of hotels. Alex blinked and gave Erin her full attention, "Oh, wow. That must be jarring. I read a book on interdimensional physics once - fascinating, really! - but the culture shock is a little rough from what I understand. To grossly oversimplify matters." Alex halted herself before she could segway into the esoteric realm of 'this book I read that one time', and tried to politely divert herself back onto matters less intrusive, "Sorry. Uhm. Burger King is just fine with me. I like the little cinnimon things."
  21. Alex gave her a lopsided grin as she shooed Mike to the front seat with handflapping gestures, "I can't imagine being bored at Claremont but then I always have liked school. I know, I'm a minority.I hope you don't mind sharing the backseat with me, but Mike moans and groans like you wouldn't believe if he has to fold himself into the backseat." She crawled into the back seat as her mother smiled her greetings at the new arrival. An older version of Alex, clearly, although with greying blonde hair as opposed to her daughter's strawberry blonde and with a fit, athletic build that Alex did not share. She gave that harried, yet oddly maternal smile, that all mother's seem to manage while trying to mauever a car filled with teenagers. "Hello, Erin, right? I'm sure we can grab a quick bite to eat. These kids are always hungry, especially Mike. We're convinced that his secondary super-powers are a constant appetite." "-And teen angst," Alex teased Mike, before adding, "Anything sound good? We can hit fast food as long as no one mentions it to Mrs. Harris."
  22. Not a problem. Stuff happens. She's associated with the transitive dimensions. Heshem is from the Book of Magic, p. 51. I didn't wanna make up my own God :D
  23. Alex gave a slightly uncomfortable shrug of her shoulders before her sunny smile returned, "Ah, truth be told we don't get out in the city as much as we'd like. Well," she amended, "We do now, but we were in a 'voluntary program' for the last decade or so, not Freedom Elementry, and it wasn't very big. Our street is pretty quiet. I don't mind crowds so much anymore, personally." She glanced up at Mike, slightly questioning before she began searching for the station wagon at the curbside. After closing her eyes for a moment, Alex nodded to herself, "Mom'll be by in a moment. She's making the loop around now." Satisfied they were in the right place, she stuffed her hands in her pockets and turned her attention back to her companions.
