  1. When the good Doctor took the stage, Dark Star clapped along with everyone else. Or tried to, forgetting for a moment that he was made of energy. That slipped his mind occassionally. Still, he watched the crowd with applaud with some zeal as the Doctor moved to the mic. The place was rather well packed. Apparently, he was something of a popular speaker. Dark Star floated in the back near the ceiling, concealed but watching with interest, and waited for the Doctor's lecture to start.
  2. Heh Picky picky. It isn't like they can't take a few short side trips either way. Longer ones will be harder to pull off of course. (and still waiting for that IC post...)
  3. Ah! No problem. Skimming a black hole or quatum singularity or some other Trekie oddity works. Though the plot bit should wrap withing 2 days. So, barring a lot of RP side trips on the way home , it shouldn't be a problem.
  4. No worries. RL always wins. Take your time.
  5. Dark Star: Notice check (1d20+7=8) He doesn't notice anything New round?
  6. Dark Star didn't understand the Doctor's comments, not knowing what Cale could do. He gave a mental shrug before turning to the hangar and problem at hand. An unknown number of individuals, likely reeking havoc with some delicate technologies, were obviously supposed to be here. Therefore it was obvious what they had to do. The Doctor was headed inside towards the ceiling. They were a superheroes, (well, he was just starting, but still) but perhaps the Doctor lacked offense pacification abilities? Dark Star didn't know but he did. To his inexperienced process, it was obvious what he should do. After all, he'd read so many comics when he was young, he practically had the possible scripts memorized. And he wanted to make sure his first super hero outing really went well.... After releasing the van, he moved through the solid hangar to hang suspended a good thirty feet above the floor. If his darkened form didn't catch their attention, then his voice, yelling as it was in the echoy warehouse, certainly got their attention. "Surrender evil doers! You cannot defeat the righteous forces of Freedom City! Lay down your weapons and come along quietly!" Too much?, he though to himself? Nah! Even as he spoke, he used his senses to reach out and search the facility, checking for any hidden surprises. What both Dark Star and the concealed Doctor entered the hangar, it became aware that there were not just a handful of the men. There were close to two dozen figures, all in an assortment of clothing; suits, lab coats, mechanic jumpsuits, etc. All part of the various disguises used to get inside. Many, 7 or 8, were gathered around the spaceplane of course. But there were also groups of 3 and 4 working on various things scattered around the immense hangar. Lastly, there were 5 or so just inside the hangar, keeping watch for trouble. Even as the heroes entered, those were raising their weapons at the most obvious threat...
  7. Absolutely no idea! Um, DA?
  8. Skipping the bad guys as they are working unseen...
  9. Dark Star: 1d20=9 Bad Guys 1d20+4=13
  10. Ok, had DS move the jeep so you could stick together as a group... So...I guess initiative would be in order? Please bear in mind, I'm new at this system and still screw up. Suggestions and guidance in all things, especially running a combat would never be turned down.
  11. Dark Star blinked at the sudden noise and turned to look. It quickly became apparent from the smoke, noise and his companions reactions that something was very wrong. He nodded at the doctor as the man shot off through the air. As an afterthought, DS reached out and grabbed the jeep, towing it behind him through the air as he mimicked the doctor’s route. “Hold on everyone, we’ll be there in a moment!†The heroes crossed the distance in no time at all. Outside the hanger, the smoke could be seen rising from the detonation spot. There were several figures laying about, all unmoving. However the main action seemed to be inside the hangar itself. Before them lay the large hangar doors. They stood open, providing 4 or 5 feet of space between them. Inside, various figures in custodial or workers coveralls could occasionally be seen moving quickly. But unlike most of those staffers, these seemed to be carrying some weaponry in the form energy weapons, both in pistol and rifle form… The jeep lightly landed as soon as Dark Star put it down. The doctor, hussled by his guard, wisely choose discretion and ran off to one side wisely seeking safety. It seemed the heroes were alone with the scurrying figures inside.
  12. Dark Star hadn't moved an inch since his ferrying activities had started. His targets however were moving along at a rather brisk pace. Taking large numbers of people at a time certainly helped to speed his efforts to depopulate the deck of the ship. Over on the nearby bridge, the rescued passangers milled about. Some watched on with open eyes, some sat with relief and tension releaseing from their shoulders and some simple started looking around for official help. Hopefully, I'm almost done with most of the people, he thought to himself. Need to make sure I get that guy's dinosaur off the cruise ship though before it sinks and the dinosaur drowns...Huh, that's got to be the first time someone has ever thought or said that one!
  13. Dark Star had heard the news about the lecture. He actually recognized the Doctor's name from the their introduction when DS had first arrived/returned to Earth. It had been quite some time since he had indulged in his love of science, a couple decades really. While he doubted he'd be able to follow everything, he was no genius after all, it would be an interesting experience. So on the day of the event, Dark Star return from a quick trip outsystem. He flew towards the building and sank through the roof and into the lecture room, making sure to give himself enough time (4 or 5 seconds was all he needed really) to arrive a little early. He made sure his powers were concealing him as he 'sat' in above the crowd to listen in. He did not want anyone looking up at him and detracting from the Doctor's lecture.
  14. I'm the big gun? (that kind of scares me )
  15. Dark Star's still in...though the concept is definitely grittier than him. But you gotta start somewhere. If he's no good, no worries! (I should be back up to speed tomorrow!)
  16. Hey...my hell week seems to have continued on and added a cold to my house. I'll need a couple more days to get moving again. But I'll be back shortly I hope.
  17. Dark Star nodded at her, not bothering to look around for Avenger. "Go and sleep. I'll make sure these fine folks are picked up and locked up. And NOT able to make any phone calls for a while to give us time. I'll continue to patrol around. As soon as you find something, contact me and I'll get to wherever in a flash. I'll stay within orbit, relatively close to the city."
  18. Ok, back. sorry for the absence all. I heal the guy (afterhe is tied up). Same power. Ah! Well, that wouldn't make sense for him to have. His healing is really just radiation and cell growth and the like. Taking on the fatigue doesn't seem to fit so not likely to happen. Maybe Resurrection someday. And I'm good to go on. (Again sorry for the absence. I'm a teacher and we're just finishing up the state mandated standarized testing plus grades close today. combined with some RL stuff, I was just swamped. I'm back though.)
  19. Dark Star nodded slighty towards the more experience hero as he moved forward and, once the man was secured (either through one of the others or Dark Star telekinetically tieing him up), extended his radiation outwards and healing the man. "If you say so..." Maybe she was right. Maybe the guy was just misguided and this would set him back on the right path. Maybe. These two certainly were more experienced than he at this sort of thing. But it didn't make Dark Star comfortable with the situation. He couldn't help it but it still felt ... excessive. He gave a mental shrug and returned to the topic at hand.
  20. Sorry, I'm in hell week here. Standardized testing, the semester closing on Friday and some RL fun is kicking my butt. I will try to get something up in a day or two. But it's not dead I promise.
  21. Ok, cool. As for weight limit, yes there is. But I'm guessing cramming 100' diameter space with people will not equal the 12.5 tons I can lift. Was just curious how long it was going to take to get the deck cleared of people. No worries.
  22. After healing himself and Scarab, Dark Star nodded. "Very well. It is your choice of course." He wouldn't force healing on the man. And, if the Scarab was correct (which seemed likely since they had obviously worked together in the past), then Avenger was a fast healer. It also meant the man was a little more than insanely well trained. Dark Star gave a mental shrug and followed them outside. To a scene he was not expecting to see. He blinked, surprised and shocked at the violent and brutal interrogation. While it was obviously effective, it was also too much for him. Those kinds of thing were done by the bad guys. Not the heroes. He was a bit nieve and trusting, true. But he had a very defined sense of right and wrong. This was wrong. He was a little confused as well as shocked. Avenger was a hero. And heroes did not resort to brutality. "Whoa! That's enough I think. There's no reason for that. Scarab could find the truth out without resorting to such brutality and half-killing the man. We're better than that. Do not sink to their level, Avenger. We're here to save people, not hurt them." The fact that he was playing the perfect 'good cop' didn't occur to him until after he had spoken.
  23. I try. Energizing? Never heard of it unfortuantely for me. Gah...more stuff I don't know about. Really need more time so I can read this stuff thuroughly. Well, if he did it, probably. But Avenger said no...he won't push it. 'Sides, he is rather trusting towards other heroes. :)
