  1. Dark Star frown as the others managed to pull back from the gravity field in time. He couldn't keep one set pinned in the field and target a second group at the same time...BUT he could just create a new field! Dark Star extended his hands and created a new field encompassing both the groups. There was a brief abatement of the pinning gravity before it came down once more. Only the two smaller groups were still free but there was nothing he could do about that currently. As the Doctor attempted to grab the second device, he became aware of a few things. One, the 'bomb' was quite heavy; the materials were some kind of advanced metal polymer (not exactly common level of production on Earth)and he was certain by now that it was a bomb. And it was now very, very active. Another is that he was certain that the bombs were linked somehow given that their blinking and beeping was perfectly insequence. Likely the two bombs are designed to arm and explode depending on being moved or seperated, and consequently would need to be disarmed simulataniously. Given the rate of occurrence on the characters changing or the beeping, it was likely that they were going to blow relatively soon. And lastly, given the strange but rather advanced designed and the size of it, the explosion would probably not be minor....
  2. Dark Star didn't even bother looking surprised at the sudden appearance another cape. People seemed to vanish and appear all the time; he was just getting used to it he supposed. "Note? I got the call direct from Scarab." He just shrugged his shoulders. "Sixtus was...dangerous. Very. Or at least that staff she held was. With it she managed to injure and hold off Scarab, Avenger and I for a short time; until I dropped the roof of building on her and grashed her down into the sewers. Even then she still escaped. I suppose the direct assault would work but seems rather...wasteful given the stealthiness of some of us. Two pronged attack might be better. But if it's already started, then we have no time to waste." He floated off the ground and let his senses extend outward, readying himself for the final assault.
  3. Dark Star nodded. "Glad to be of help." He looked over at the Captain. "Please st struggling. You're likely to strain yourself. The things the Doctor showed you doing some bad things, but I still do not wish you harm. Just remain calm and you'll be relocated soon enough." He looked back over at the Doctor while waiting for Arrowhawk to drug the man again. "So who is he? Should I accompany the STAR team to the detention facility?"
  4. Dark Star didn't flinch but he certainly scowled when the newest explosion rocked the ship and sent half a dozen people tumbling over the railing. "Oh shoot...," he muttered. Given that he was currently holding a group, he couldn't try to catch those hitting the water. He quickly deposited the group he was moving on the bridge before turning back to those in the water. He flew downward towards them, extending his hands towards them and sending out a gravity pulse. He targeted the entire area around the fallen and now cold former passengers and radically reversed the gravity but only for the people, causing them to practically shoot out of the water. He moved back and quickly pulled them together with a group on the deck, restarting his evacuation efforts. Once the people were saved, he should really think about saving the T-Rex. There's an odd thought huh?
  5. I have confidence in that the Righteous will prevail! Yeah, and as far as threats go, it was pretty minor. ;)
  6. Dark Star just nodded at Scarab's words. He knew what Moira preferred as her super name but it wasn't his place to speak for her. Instead he floated nearby and let his own senses extend outward. Scarab had asked for others to guard over her when she did this kind of thing last time. So he assumed that role for now. He'd watch for any trouble while the rest planned or discuessed. If there was anything to find, it wouldn't be long.
  7. So he misses... Quesiton: It seems to me that the Doctor, despite language differences and different technologies, should be able to make something out of the dangerous devices. Some assumptions, ideas or basic clues. But have no idea if that is true or even what skill it shold be based off of...
  8. No problem! DS is naive and a goody-goody! He's supposed to annoy those gritty and hardened heroes!
  9. Some Notice checks... (1d20+7=24, 1d20+7=8) So made the first and not the second. Actually, rolled a 1 for the second.... Can I get the groups together and lift them all at once? Or multiple groups anyway at one time? And no worries! GMs are busy!
  10. Initiative! (1d20=17) Pretty good init for my slow char...
  11. I'm just watching and waiting ;)
  12. Dark Star frowned as he maintained the gravity field and raised one hand to the masked archer after the brutal kick. "Enough. Whether or not the Doctor's agreement affects anyone else is irrelevant. What is relevant is that he is immobilized. We are heroes. We do not abuse defenseless people, regardless of their crimes. Do not do that again or you will find yourself pinned to the floor with him." He turned back to the Doctor and nodded. "Very good. I can hold this indefinitely really. I can wait for the STAR forces to arrive and take him into custody."
  13. The thugs in front of Dark Star and Quark were pinned to the ground, immobile, as he landed in front of them. Despite their struggles, they were pinned and very stuck. The ones who had been working on the device that the Doctor just appropriated turned in shock, curses leaving their lips. And the other group of three working on a similar device, even though they weren't looking at anything but their device, started swearing as well. They turned as one and drew their weapons heading immediately for the two supers in front of the doors. The larger group charged forward, but their shots went wide. The first four entered Dark Star's gravity field and were immediately slammed into the floor. The rest managed to stop their forward momentum. They were going to take aim next time... Both the Doctor and Dark Star noticed that as the Doctor flew further and further away from his original position, the device started beeping insistently and faster, the strange character moving fast and faster as well. But the real thing they noticed was that both the device the Doctor was carrying AND the other were doing the exact same thing simulataniously...
  14. Dark Star landed and stood in the main isle a few feet away from the struggling Captain. "Please stop resisting. You cannot escape. I do not wish you to injury yourself." He kept the gravity field going, trying to keep the man immobile. But the Captain was continuing to struggle valiently, if in vein.
  15. Heh No worries. I was just curious. :)
  16. just posted! I'll edit to have it happen before Arrowhawke goes if you like. wasn't sure how that'd work so just figured he was starting his attack as I dropped the field. 1d20=13 ok, editting to make it happen BEFORE Arrowhawke attacks as per rules and holding action...done. For the record, his Gravity Control is a 10. That's 50 St and a heavy load of 25,600 lbs.
  17. Dark Star had been waiting for the Doctor's gravitic words. He acted without pause as soon as he 'heard' them. He dropped a huge gravity field over the entire area just to make sure, increasing the gravity by several orders of magnitude. While he could have pinned everyone, he made sure that only the Captain was affected. He floated down towards the middle of the room where the Captain and the other had started their engagement, though his sudden increase of the gravity affecting the Captain might have affected Arrowhawk's attack. I'll have to apologize later. "Please do not struggle. I do not want anyone to be hurt here. But you are accountable for your actions and a court of law will decide what your recompense should be."
  18. This seems to have slowed down quite a bit... we loose people?
  19. Come on...Fail so Quark gets powers! (1d20+6=22) Heh. Sorry, no joy for Quark there...
  20. I keep track of when those points get added, timeline/story wise. so I know which thread I get them. otherwise, it doesn't seem fair to me. Normally, I 'd say no and that my chars would of course resist. But I did state in the char write-up that DS is rather naive/trusting towards heroes... I leave it in the Ref's hands. roll a die or something (that's what I'd do if I was GMing a tabletop) and let me know! :)
  21. to be fair...this is technically DS First thread. So his Toughness is 10 (w/ 6 being impervious). ie he hasn't gotten the exp yet and I'm guessing I can't just intentionally fail?
  22. ok...what happens to Dark Star when shot by Quark's beam? have no idea what his power does. Thought it jus mimiced DS's powers. Ok, I'll post up DS & DA notices during bad guys...coming shortly.
  23. He nodded to Hellbound as the man entered and then to Knight. "I know most but not all of you. I'm called Dark Star due to beling a humanoid embodiment of the previously theoretic dark star. I have some strong control over gravity, radiation in addition to moving between the stars at incredible speeds. If you are injured, I can alter the radiation wavelength and provide healing as well." He paused for a moment. "I don't have much of a 'day job' anymore. I just got back to Earth a little while ago after a long absence."
  24. Dark Star paused as he felt/received the message from the Doctor's devices. Fascinating toys. Too bad I can't respond. Ah well. I still know what to do. He didn't know what powers this guy possessed, but given his statements, it seemed the Captain was just a normal though an incredibly fit one. Possibly devices but that wasn't Dark Star's field. He shrugged to himself and got ready to immobilize the man.

    Dark Star

Dark Star floated near the terminous of the sun destrucive energy. He was jsut at the edge where it became uncomfortable to him. He'd only be there for a short while. It was his own way of 'toughening' his energy form up. He'd only been back on Earth, in Freedom City, for a short while. But in that time, he'd encountered quite a few hostile attacks that seemed quite strong. He needed to toughen himself up for future conflicts if this was going to be the norm. This seemed a simple method. Besides, he promised the folks over at the SCC that he'd take some detail readings for them...
