  1. Ace and Dark Star, have an HP each for being the victims of Malice's masterful strategy. OK, now keeping track of initiative just got a lot easier! I believe Knievel is up next? The blast is clearly audible to Knievel and Ace (it's detectable in Atlantis, for goodness' sake), but Distract works fine in combat even so.
  2. Crime at the Shadow Academy? How shocking! :o
  3. Popping over from the Trial thread to say that I think Scarab deserves an HP (retroactively) for not mind-wiping Malice upon first recognizing him. ;)
  4. What are the odds that a high-level mobster would run a background check on employees at his daughter's debutante ball? And thus find out that a given potential employee was underage, if not a superhero? Fairly good, I would say. ;)
  5. "NEIN! DU SCHIE-" The giant Nazi robot sputtered and sparked, more oil spraying Wander, as suddenly the gigantic colossus tumbled to the ground, falling away from the assembled teen heroes and back onto the robotic foundry behind it. As Wander jumped away from the falling robot, there was a loud boom and concussion as the weight of the falling machine and its spraying fluids made the robotic forges explode in a satisfyingly spectacular eruption of flying bits of robotic Nazi engineering!
  6. The Eisenfuhrer goes down! And Edge only had to blow 4 HP so no one on the team got decapitated.
  7. Jack knew Taylor could summon up a costume perfectly well, but with a momentary shrug he was out of his jacket and handing it to her. It was what a gentleman did, dang it. "If you can do it fast enough. I'll keep an eye out here and hit anything with big teeth that shows up." He gave her a quick grin. "I was sure I had you this time, too. You still owe me a distraction."
  8. "I left my costume in my car," Jack muttered to Taylor. "Which I left in my slot at work, because no one's tried to mug me in years." He ran his hand over his jaw. "What kind of firepower are we looking at?" he asked her. "Do we need to call in backup?"
  9. "There are a couple of vacant warehouses around here," said Jack, not looking inclined to put her down despite the fact that she wasn't as badly hurt as she'd first appeared. "We can hit those up." After a moment's thought, he did set her down, shaken by the spilled blood for his own reasons. "What do you think it is?" he asked. "What did that summon up...and why is it on the dang golf course?!"
  10. The massive Nazi monstrosity bore up shockingly well under Phalanx's first punch, the impact of his fist on the steel rebounding with an enormous krong. The second time, though, he found a weak spot; punching straight through the swastika in the middle of the thing's great chest and sending showers of sparks flying everywhere. The great machine staggered but did not fall, shouting mechanical defiance yet as it raised its massive fists.
  11. More luck the second time around The second time, the Emotion Control succeeds!
  12. Edge is down another HP. He switches his Fortune array back to his main fortune power, so it's impossible for his allies to get less than +7 on their attack in fighting the giant robot. (It only has a defense of +6) Phalanx is up.
  13. "Holy crap..." murmured Edge, in utter awe of how Wander had so utterly pulverized the vast majority of the robot army. He finished off the rest by concentrating, his eyes glowing faintly as the pitiful last few robots sparked and erupted in smoke and ash. Der Eisenfuhrer, though, was completely undamaged by Edge's wave of disasters, the massive Nazi robot towering undamaged over the battlefield. "ALL SHALL FALL BEFORE ZE MIGHT OF ZE REICH!" it howled mechanically, focusing its attention on the teenager who had struck it last. It fired a massive beam of energy directly at Geckoman, the tremendous blast of death and agony missing Geckoman only when an increasingly frantic Edge concentrated and sent the blast luckily streaming past Geckoman to blast another spectacular hole in the wall behind them.
  14. The Emotion Control fails, but the Bluff succeeds...momentarily. Also known as, "Think fast!" :D
  15. Jack drove his fist into the scratch marks with sudden, sharp force, the punch looking hard enough to have broken a man's hand. He seemed unfazed, though, and bit his lip as he did it again. Jack was also intimately familiar with blood magic, as it happened, though he didn't need to dwell on the whys and wherefores of that. "Let's get you out of here," he said, suddenly scooping her up in his strong arms. "Whatever it is may eat the wounded."
  16. You need to move the drawback from the power into the actual drawback section. The language there needs to be cleaned up generally; is his Immunity part of his array? His Con modifier is off.
  17. Let's see those Reflex saves, gentlemen. This effect is going to be large enough to include everybody in front of the courthouse, so that's _everyone_ out front except Malice making the DC 22 Reflex save followed by the DC 27/21 Toughness save. Malice is going to inflict maximum knockback on anyone stunned by his attack. This is also going to do some pretty significant damage to the surrounding scenery, though I'm willing to say the fight's been ongoing long enough for the civilians to have fled the area. The street is not so wide that this won't blow the front off the library and blast an even bigger crater in the middle of the street.
  18. Don't look at the blood, Jack thought as he pressed his fingers against the wound in her side. It wasn't easy; it looked good, and he knew how good she tasted. "It'll be all right," he promised her. "They're not going anywhere, and you'll be all right." She was in no shape to notice the hole in the front and back of his shirt, and the broken bones and shock he'd given the shooter meant he was in no shape to notice such things either. "Seen plenty worse than this," he promised her.
  19. Jack picked up his club and advanced on the gang members, murder in his eyes. The shooter pointed the gun at him, shouting incoherently, and Jack snarled a single reply. The man fired, the bullet evidently missing Jack from all Taylor could see. Jack swung the club and smashed it down on the man's hand, hearing bones break as the gun hit the astroturf beneath their feet. He kept moving and swung the club again, bringing it down on the man's knee, feeling more bones break as the man shrieked and dropped to the ground in shock from the shattered joint. Jack lifted the club again, his face eerily expressionless, raising it high over his head as he prepared to bring it down with finality onto the ganger's head...and stopped, gazing down at the man. No, the boy. One of his friends pulled his gun. Jack looked at him, his eyes as flat and cold as his voice. "Put. That. Down." The gun hit the floor. "Sit down. All of you." As they dropped, terror writ large on their faces, Jack turned and headed back to Taylor, humanity returning to his eyes as he hurried to her side. "Someone call 911!" he shouted, holding his hand to her side, holding onto himself as best he could. "Now!"
  20. Jack sighed, scrubbing his face. "Dang kids," he muttered irritably. "Did you catch what was going on over there?" he asked her, putting his club over his shoulder like a sword. "Or are they just arguing because it's Friday night and they've been drinking?"
  21. In the space of a few moments, Wander tore her way through the robotic company like a force of nature. In seconds she was covered in black and grey motor oil, metal fragments in her hair and clothes, hands covered in broken robot parts, the lifesblood of machinery coating her chest and hands, the last screams of torn metal and shattered circuitry still echoing in the air as she pulled her fist from the face of one of the last robots standing. A few blaster shots ricocheted off her chest from the last standing robots, their pitifully small numbers doing no damage to her armored body. This particular company was out of the fight.
  22. "I'll keep that in mind," Jack teased, doing his own looking as they went. The darkened golf course was no obstacle to his eyes, letting him enjoy the show. He made a successful hit on his second stroke, thankfully, and scooped up the ball as a faint shock of static electricity went through him. "Bet you can't make par in 2," he said with a grin.
  23. Let's say you do get that super-brain of yours, since it makes the results so much more interesting this way. Mwahaha! You can shut down the alarms at your leisure.
  24. Zealot's tenure at the school is likely to be short, though spectacular. First day of gym: "First one to bring me his head gets afternoons off for the rest of the week!" :P
  25. "Hey, that's neat!" said Mark, suitably impressed at JJ's spectacular abilities. "Just don't do that in the mall," he joked, "people will think you've exploded." He chuckled, showing there was no malice in it. "All right, I guess Alex and I will squeeze into the backseat, and JJ can get in with us. I think that'll get us there in style."
