  1. Thunder wishes that bad guys got hero points. Dark Star is up
  2. She passes the Nullify check with a 22. 'Captain Thunder' uses Electrical Control 12 (Burst Area, Selective Attack) (Full-Round Action, Touch-Range) DC 22 Reflex save vs. a potential DC 27 Toughness save. Freedom Angel fails the Reflex save He rolls a 29 with the HP, and is uninjured Fleur is up
  3. The blow struck home, and Dr. Archeville's opponent yelped and flexed in the air. But she stayed in the air all the same, though, and gave him a malevolent look as glowing red flame washed over her eyes. "That might have worked, she gloated wickedly. "On the real Lady Liberty." Back in the laboratory, Thunder took a few moments to take in this situation before springing into action. "You owe me for this one, you stupid junkie!" he spat with a sneer on his handsome face as he glared at Johnny, jutting out his square jaw as he cussed out his own teammate. "As for the rest of you, there's nothing left I need in this room. Taste the power of the THUNDERBOLT!" And with that he raised his fists in the air and drove them into the ground beneath his feet, sending massive eruptions of lightning washing over the room.
  4. "It's a boy," said Avenger, his fearsome demeanor slipping to be replaced by something between happiness and fear. "We're still debating what we're going to call him." He even smiled at that. When Ace returned, he said, "Yes, I was around for that. It was some kind of mad scientist from Europe who was trying to use him to power a weapon." He thought about that. "Fleur and Phantom saved both of us," he admitted, an unhappy look on his face. "Dark Star would be the one to ask about where the equipment went, though. Taylor and I had other things on our mind that night."
  5. "That sounds awesome, you guys," said Mark, looking warmly down at tiny little Faith. "And you know, if we put Faith on the team, it doesn't count as skipping training. It's more like teaching her about...everything." He reached down and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "Maybe later, you can show us what you can do."
  6. After a long, uncomfortable few minutes, Jack reappeared next to Taylor, vials carefully cradled in his hands. "Well, that was unpleasant," he said, his eyebrows furrowed. "Is there anything other than satisfying Archeville's sense of humor that's keeping us here right now?"
  7. Inside the wrapped box there glimmered a smaller, shimmering box covered in a slick, shiny film, with the faces of terrible fiends glaring up balefully at the world. "It's the boxed Universal Monsters DVD," said Jack proudly. "I found it on eBay." All the greats were there; Dracula and Frankenstein, the Mummy and the Invisible Man, the Bride and the Wolfman, even the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Phantom of the Opera. "I'll even watch them with you, because I love you," he teased.
  8. She fails the Reflex save and is hurled flaming into the air to dangle there Doctor Archeville is up.
  9. Freedom Angel gave Wander a serious look at that, but said sincerely, "I'm always happy to help those in need." He took a few steps and walked out the door, taking off a few feet in the air to get a better look at the area. When he caught sight of James, he seemed to freeze, fluffy white wings spreading out behind him and square jaw setting in a way that didn't look entirely friendly.
  10. Johnny misses, and is sad. Liberty grabs the crate and flies! She's 2500 feet away, heading down the coast, at time of this writing. Doctor Archeville is up.
  11. The three 'Leaguers' staggered under Dark Star's gravitic onslaught, each nearly succumbing before they each proved able to either resist its effects or simply bolt out of the way and up onto the ceiling. "We need a hostage!" called the man with Johnny Wade's face. "I'll grab the pretty one!" And with that, he charged Ace Danger at blinding speed, only the immortal hero's super-honed reflexes letting him escape the supersonic attack. For her part, the woman in Lady Liberty's costume gave a mocking laugh. "Wade, you stupid-" She then used many words to describe him, none of which Lady Liberty would usually have used to describe Johnny Rocket where anyone could hear. "We need the transmitter!" And with that, she bent down, scooped up the crate, and flew from the room with a near-sonic BOOM that rattled the walls. "Thunder, cover me!"
  12. Our order is: Johnny: 43 Liberty: 22 Doctor Archeville: 19 Thunder: 17 Fleur de Joie: 14 Dark Star: 11 Freedom Angel: 8 Ace Danger: 6 Reflex saves vs. Gravity Control Johnny makes it and is unaffected. Thunder's Strength is such that he passes the check automatically. Liberty makes the save
  13. The top of the initiative order is for suckers anyway: 8
  14. Nothing here is a bad idea! Just make sure you do actually tell the Refs any canon-monkeying you're doing.
  15. Drop the Benefit (King of the Vampires) for Avenger. (It hasn't come up that often, and IC his power base has basically fragmented.) 3 ranks of Intimidate (to 19, his PL maximum) 1 rank of Investigate (to 1 (+1) [1 pp] And the Feat Ultimate Skill (Intimidate) [1 pp] Sandman XI will now claim the title for himself!
  16. "Certainly," said Heyzel without hesitation. He could sense the hesitation around her name, but if she chose to give a false one, that was her concern. "If you'd rather we use nicknames, by the way, you can call me Freedom Angel." He smiled at her and called through the door. "Come in, we have the place to ourselves! I've been working on making pies for the bake sale. It's very interesting, I've never actually made food before."
  17. "The defenses in this place can affect even beings like Dark Star," said Avenger calmly. "Some of them, anyway, given his powers. I've had to guess at the precise nature of his abilities...but this place has the potential to take him down. Assuming he doesn't realize that and blast the building from orbit." He thought for a minute, then shook his head. "No, no, if he could do that, he'd have done it to you and Stesha. Lack of imagination, or sadism. This version of Dark Star prefers to kill where he can see faces and hear cries." He was quiet for a moment before he said, "Many of my enemies operate at a different level than the rest of you. I'll do everything in my power to make sure he's taken alive."
  18. "Hello!" Freedom Angel had turned at the sound of the door opening, his keen ears easily catching it, and started flying quickly as he heard someone call out for him. He didn't really have room to fly outside the main sanctuary, so instead he walked up to the young woman who'd just entered. "My name is Heyzel. What can I do for you?"
  19. Mark put his arm around Faith in a friendly sort of way, reaching down to embrace her around the shoulders. "Let's try food," he suggested. "That way we can make plans for later." He looked down into her eyes and said, "I know a guy in the cafeteria who can take real good care of you, or we can run out to Champions." Mark _really_ liked Champions. "You're the guest; where would you like to go?"
  20. I'm not comfortable with Psyche pitting her will directly against the might of the Terminus Collective. If any PL 11 telepath can do that, why don't more of them? Have an HP for that, though, since it's not in the book. Stunt something else? =)
  21. Mark attacks the ball and spends a HP to make the ball fail. Then spends another HP on Mike to use on a Notice check
  22. "I'll get us out of this!" said Mark boldly. He gave the ball a little shove, rolling them right into the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler. Before Mike could react, the ball shattered into a thousand pieces, spinning away into nothingness on the busy road. Standing without fear as simulated cars rolled by, Mark pointed dramatically. "I bet...they're on one of those rooftops! How many can there be in Freedom City?"
  23. Avenger spends this round refocusing. He'll go at the top of the initiative order next time. Dark Star is up.
  24. The Patchwork Girl gave a terrible shriek as she burst into flames, stitches smoldering and skin blackening, as James' fiery blast washed over her. Keening, she kept her feet, in pain but obviously able to push past it despite her growing injuries. Meanwhile, the golem disappeared into space far above.
  25. "I'm just glad to be here," said Jack, smiling at Taylor and ignoring the others for a moment. Planting a kiss on her cheek, he said, "Why don't you open my present first," he suggested, bringing out a box wrapped in glossy black paper. "That way you won't have me heckling you about it the whole time."
