  1. Welp, we're gonna go a little ham on this set up here. I'm going to stunt Leaping off of Maxima's Super-Strength, giving her a maximum of Leaping 10 and she'll be leaping to where ever she calculates the center of the impact site to be. However, with higher ranks of Leaping means that the jumps take progressively longer, so here's the breakdown for how far she needs to jump and you let me know how much hang time she gets. Rank 6 - 2 rounds - 2,000ft Rank 7 - 3 rounds - 5,000ft Rank 8 - 4 rounds - 10,000ft Rank 9 - 5 rounds - 20,000ft Rank 10 - 6 rounds - 50,000ft

  3. Well this certainly poses a problem. mused Maxima as she took stock of the situation. Like Citizen said, this is most definitely computronium. We've only got a few hours before this reaches a populated area. If Citizen is right, we need to dismantle the brain of this thing if we're going to stop it. And if he's right, I can't touch the stuff either. The density of my cells might provide some protection, but I won't know for certain until it's too late. I need to get a baseline rate for its conversation rate before I make any decisions. "I'm going to try something. I need to gather some more data before I can figure out a plan of attack." said Maxima over her comm link. She lept over closer to the edge of the computronium border, kicking up a huge plume of sand as she thudded down to the ground again. She used her momentum from the leap as she clapped her hands together, sending a rippling shockwave towards the incursion area. The damage that would be caused to the computronium area was a bonus, the real point of this maneuver was to scatter the sands of the desert onto the computronium to see how long the conversion process would take. With luck, it would take long enough that this method could be used as part of a walk-way across the surface.
  4. Maxima is going to take the scattershot approach to Science! and try just about everything. You can take 10's on Knowledge checks so that'll be what Maxima does, and has Mental Quickness 2 so 5x speed. Results: 30 - Life Sciences 25 - Physical Sciences, Technology (Business & Civics are also in this tier, but likely not relevant) 20 - All Other Knowledge skills due to Eidetic Memory, relevant ones are likely Galactic Lore, Current Events & History to recall details of computronium's properties Notice Check // Search Check for Arrving on Scene: 2#1d20+15 31 20 Search being used in Conjunction with Investigate as below if things look safe enough to get close Investigate the alien stuff: 1d20+17 31 (she gets the +2 for carrying tools in her utility belt, and also has the handy dandy feature of meaning that she doesn't have to directly touch the stuff)
  5. The flight to the site was... unique. Due to Maxima's great size and mass, it was difficult finding a flying position on Citizen where he could fly without practically red-lining one of his stabilizers and not squashing Terrifica if they hit turbulence. Thankfully they managed the flight without major incident, and Maxima gave the other heroes her radio frequency so they could keep in touch in case they got split up, which was likely in a containment scenario. When they arrived on scene, Maxima bailed off the flying robot while they were still quite high up in the air, landing on a rocky outcropping (and promptly turning it into rubble from the force of the impact). Take off had been enough of an ordeal, and she didn't want to hazard a guess as to how Citizen would fare at trying to land with a 4 ton gorilla on his back. "Welp, that's alien technology if I ever saw it." summed up Maxima rather obviously. Not content with her vantage point, Maxima made her way closer to the green growing crystal glass, pulling out some tools from her belt as she went. Lets see what we're dealing with here.

With a character that has been as influencial as Dracula and that has been around as long as he has, there are a multitude of different interpretations. I decided to go with a bit of a classic take on Dracula, but with a more modern power level. He is basically your archetypical vampire, just really, really powerful. Physically he’s super-humanly strong, but a bit limited when compared to superheroes, he won’t be beating Superman in an arm wrestling contest. Dracula’s main shtick however is how hard he is to kill. He has nearly maximum Regeneration, high Toughness, high Defense and can heal himself extra with the Vampiric extra on his unarmed strength. Of specific note is the fact that Dracula pretty much has none of the traditional weaknesses of vampires. In many works of fiction he is either shown as being just as suseptable to the traditional weaknesses as the garden variety vampire or is shown to be able to ignore them entirely. I went with the later, but this of course can be changed quite easily. I also did not include any ability to turn people into vampires, as using that power on anything where a save is important is a plot point by itself so me adding it to the stat block doesn't make much sense. The guy is Dracula, feel free to have dozens, if not hundreds of vampires hanging about, or conversely, have him be all alone, both work. Also, vampires tend to have a wide swath of abilities, but none that are truly powerful in terms of super-heroes, but are quite handy in their versatility. He’s very stealthy, a formidable hand to hand combatant, has extensive social graces, the ability to control others, has devilishly keen senses and hundreds of years of knowledge to bring to bear. He’s a predator that knows he’s at the apex of the food chain, and can take down just about anyone or anything should he care to. Most importantly he will relish the opportunity to do so.

  9. Maxima sported a bit of a frown as Terrifica made her appearance Why do I have a feeling we're going to be butting heads in the near future? she thought grimmly to herself. She didn't speak her reservations lest it be a self-fulfilling prophecy, and she had enough bad first impressions under her belt to know biting her tongue was usually her best bet. Citizen on the other hand seemed to know quite a good deal, which was a relief. Asad also seemed to be quite well connected on this side of the world, and Maxima knew that keeping the population at large informed of the details of this event was sure to be crucial. "Ok, so we've established that whatever this phenominon is, it's extra-terrestrial in origin. From Citizen's description of the Communion, it seems like that organization assimilates technology it desires from targeted worlds. By striking at an unoccupied region, we can infer that one of three scenarios is likely: One: There is a secret facility or other technological installation in that area that we are unaware of that is the target of this assimilation. Two: The region was selected as the target zone for its qualities, possibly to help catalyze whatever systems are necessary for the technology to operate, or to help its systems reach critical mass faster so it is able to encapsulate the Earth in the minimal amount of time. Three: The target zone was done at random either due to a malfuction in the weapon's systems, or that this phenominon is not related to the Communion at all and is an incursion by some third party. In all scenarios, the fact remains that at its present rate of expansion, it will not be long before this even reaches a population center. I reccomend we make haste to the target zone so that we are able to analyze this phenominon, and create an actionable plan to counter its effects on our biosphere. On a related note, I will require assistance to reach the target zone in a timely fashion, my overland speed leaves much to be desired." Aliens Maxima knew nothing about, but this was science, and that she could handle.

  13. Cassandra had always loved these international scientific conferences. It was always wonderful to see the different cultures and perspectives coming together under a common banner of learned and progress. Now she just had to do something about those long international flights... Heroes that can fly have it easy. mused the still a little jet-lagged Cassandra as she made her way through the summit. Grant Conglomerates had not be officially invited to the conference, there still being an international misunderstanding in regards to an industrial accident in one of their facilities in India, but Cassandra had scored an invitation due to some of her third party connections. It was for that reason that when her work tablet began receiving an encrypted message, she was quite puzzled. ******************************** Class One Priority Transmission Confidential Information Inbound Receive Message: [Y] / [N] ******************************** Cassandra had been trained to expect these type of messages at some point, but had never actually received them. Grant Co. only sent out these missions when something truly strange was happening and only if there were only a handful people in the area to respond to a time-sensitive crisis of sorts. Intrigued as to what it could be, Cassandra found a secluded area and input her credentials getting the full message: ******************************** Object of Unknown Origin made touchdown in Rub' Al Khali. Likely alien device. Satellite imagery suggests contamination. Mission Objectives: 1. Investigate 2. Obtain a sample 3. Report findings 4. Eliminate threat ******************************** Cassandra was simply dumbfounded at the news. The new which appeared to be spreading as more than a few people across the conference had the same ash white face. Cassandra saw the giant robot that was on display making its way over to the summit organizer and super-hero Asad. That's a cue if I ever saw one. Thought Cassandra as she ducked out of sight into a nearby closet before Maxing out, being quite glad she was able to sneak her costume through customs. Maxima strode into the hall standing head, shoulders and elbows taller than nearby everyone else in the hall, making a B-line directly to Asad and the robot. "I assume the two of you heard about what's going on? I'm here to lend a hand anyway I can."
  14. Whoops, my bad. When I looked at the post originally, I didn't scroll all the way down to see that you did a HP reroll. Toughness save, DC 25: 1d20+9 23 Another Bruise 25 - Wayward - Bruised x1, HP x 3 25 - Asad - Unharmed, HP x3 23 - Pitch - Unharmed, HP x 1 22 - Young Britania - Unharmed, HP x 3 22 - Hydra - Bruised x3, Dazed, Staggered 8 - Meteorite Golem - Unharmed, Did a Thing x1 4 - Hero - Bruised x4, Dazed, -2 Toughness 1 - Blob - Unharmed 1 - Maxima - Bruised x2, HP x 2
  15. Cassandra's smile faltered a bit as Dr. Derns danced around the issue of its origin. "What concerns me at the moment is that, if you're correct that this is indeed a discendant of an ancient bio-weapon, it means that the ancient bio-weapon was capable of reproduction, and it stands to reason that this one is as well. Have you discovered any indications that there may be more of these creatures left in the wild?" asked Cassandra as she strode over to one of the computer terminals and began pulling up files without ceremony. "Also, have you identified the creature's gender and have you given it a designation so that I may stop referring to it as "it" or "this creature"?" Cassandra often found that the first day of a project involved lots of questions and getting up to speed, but she had this nagging feeling that this was going to be one of the projects where details were going to be glossed over, and it was in situations like this that she felt looking for her own answers came before asking permission. Should be fun for the kids...
  16. GM Post The heroes were rapidly starting to turn the tide of this engagement. Wayward and Pitch continue their joint assault on the statue of the everyday hero, with Wayward's harrying assault preventing it from standing straight as a large dent is put into its knee, before Pitch's fell magics begin to warp the golem's frame as it begins to glow red hot from an unhallow flame. At the other end of the park, Asad wailed on the giant Hydra tree, smacking back down into the ground. He wasn't done however as he grabbed hold of the hydra's tail, and hauled it high into sky, likely setting up for the coup de grace. Towards the middle of the area, Young Britania volleyed a barrage of energy at the downed Eagle, and when the smoke cleared, there was naught but smoking splinters. A faint ripple of the leyline of circuitry spread across the ruins of the creature before dissipating entirely. While still blinded, Maxima is assaulted by the Meteorite golem, and staggers back a few steps but doesn't fall. On the plus side, she got the muck out of her eyes. The muck monster also tries to blind Young Britania in the same way it did Maxima, spewing forth it's vile concoction at the hero.
  17. Toughness save, DC 25: 1d20+6 19 Staggered again, so results in a KO. Hydra is Dazed and takes no action. Maxima is currently blinded and doesn't get a chance to save until the Blob's action, so she'll delay. The Meteorite Golem will take the opportunity to pummel Maxima. Attack roll vs (blinded) Maxima: 1d20+8 10 and actually hit. Maxima is blinded so she's Flat-Footed and a subsequent -2 on Defense. Toughness save, DC 31: 1d20+15 22 And she'll barely avoid the Stagger, taking just a Bruise and a Daze, but isn't high enough ranked damage to do Knockback. Hero Golem is Dazed and takes no action. At the start of Blob golem's turn, Maxima gets to make her save vs being Blind, Fort save to recover Blind, DC 18: 1d20+13 27 and makes the save handily. The Blob Golem is going to try and blind YB the same way it did to Maxima. Gunk Shot vs YB, DC 18 Reflex Visual Dazzle: 1d20+12 30 Maxima delayed her action until after the Blob Golem, but since she was Dazed, she took no action this round. 25 - Wayward - Bruised x1, HP x 4 25 - Asad - Unharmed, HP x3 23 - Pitch - Unharmed, HP x 1 22 - Young Britania - Unharmed, HP x 3 22 - Hydra - Bruised x3, Dazed, Staggered 8 - Meteorite Golem - Unharmed, Did a Thing x1 4 - Hero - Bruised x3, Dazed 1 - Blob - Unharmed 1 - Maxima - Bruised x2, HP x 2 I'll get an IC post up tomorrow.
  18. Cassandra jumped back and gasped as the giant beast crashed against the force field. She paused for just a moment before she started cackling "Oh... my... goodness! In all my years I have never heard of anything that was this reckless, underhanded, dangerous and yet so very much worth it!" cried Cassandra gleefully as she joined Thaelia to hang over the balcony. "Don't tell me how you got that thing here or how long you've had it, keep those secrets to yourself, I want to preserve the mystery." continued Cassandra as she waved off any explanation Dr. Derns was about to give. She was able to tear her eyes away from the literally awesome creature to answer Thaelia's question. "In your studies you've heard of someone named Charles Darwin, yes? He was credited with the theory of natural selection, the means by which evolution takes its course; in that the traits most fit to their environment are passed onto subsequent generations while less desirable traits are weeded out. In his book, On the Origin of the Species, he goes into great length into the varieties of finches he studied during his time on the Galapagos Islands, noting that each individual species had a particular set of traits best suited for their environment on a particular island. Unless I'm very much mistaken, this creature is a denizen of the so called "Kaiju Island" where a substantial portion of the indigenous species have developed the unique trait of being unnaturally large in size and stature. We don't know why so many different species have this same trait, but I bet the aim of this study is to figure out how it happened and replicate it." explained Cassandra falling into the instructor role with practiced ease.
  19. Reflex save vs Drain Toughness DC 17: 1d20+4 15 Loses 2 points of Toughness The Eagle is dazed and takes no action. 25 - Wayward - Bruised x1, HP x 4 25 - Asad - Unharmed, HP x3 23 - Pitch - Unharmed, HP x 1 23 - Eagle - Bruised x2, Staggered 22 - Young Britania - Unharmed, HP x 3 22 - Hydra - Bruised x3, Dazed, Staggered 13 - Maxima - Bruised x1, Blinded, HP x 2 8 - Meteorite Golem - Unharmed, Did a Thing x1 4 - Hero - Bruised x3, Dazed 1 - Blob - Unharmed
  20. "Well you certainly picked an eccentric bunch didn't you Dr. Derns?" said Cassandra as she began to remember her manners. She extended her hand to Dr. Derns. "Dr. Cassandra Steel, it's good to finally meet you. I've been following your work for some time now. We will have to discuss your forays into the mitochondrian assimilation infusion therapy you worked on back on the Genome project at some point, but for today, I have to ask, do you have what I think you have?" it seemed Cassandra could only keep up the friendly professional banter for so long before she had to ask about the elephant the room, and that particular phrase seemed quite apt given their situation. It was hard to tell if Cassandra was upset with Dr. Derns or if she was excited at the proposition, mostly likely because she hadn't made up her mind herself.
  21. Toughness save DC 30: 1d20+10 23 That's another Bruise and Daze. You'll need to roll a grapple check as part of using Improved Grab, opposed by the Hydra Opposed Grapple Check: 1d20+24 26 ...And with Asad's grapple you succeed automatically. Asad can move 1000ft as a move action, the Hydra was knocked back 25ft as part of the previous attack directed at him, we'll say Asad attacked at a range of 50ft from that initial blast, so that leave 925ft left to go vertical if you so wish. EDIT: Forgot initiative chart 25 - Wayward - Bruised x1, HP x 4 25 - Asad - Unharmed, HP x3 23 - Pitch - Unharmed, HP x 1 23 - Eagle - Bruised x2, Dazed, Staggered 22 - Young Britania - Unharmed, HP x 3 22 - Hydra - Bruised x3, Dazed, Staggered 13 - Maxima - Bruised x1, Blinded, HP x 2 8 - Meteorite Golem - Unharmed, Did a Thing x1 4 - Hero - Bruised x3, Dazed 1 - Blob - Unharmed
  22. Toughness save, DC 23: 1d20+12 16 That's another Bruise and Daze. 25 - Wayward - Bruised x1, HP x 4 25 - Asad - Unharmed, HP x3 23 - Pitch - Unharmed, HP x 1 23 - Eagle - Bruised x2, Dazed, Staggered 22 - Young Britania - Unharmed, HP x 3 22 - Hydra - Bruised x2, Staggered 13 - Maxima - Bruised x1, Blinded, HP x 2 8 - Meteorite Golem - Unharmed, Did a Thing x1 4 - Hero - Bruised x3, Dazed 1 - Blob - Unharmed
  23. The Hero Golem yes. Which is why they took no action this round. The daze expired once their turn was over with though which is why daze is no longer in their status section in the initiative order, same with the Hydra Golem.
  24. GM Post The battle in the Park turns in a real slog as both parties go at, but the heroes are starting to pull ahead a bit. Young Britania is able to catch the Eagle full on in the wing, blowing most of it to pieces, sending the Eagle into a tailspin, where it crashes into the ground with a tremendous thud. Elsewhere, Maxima calls out to Asad. "Thanks for the assist. I'm going to stop that thing from getting more solid; I don't know what its intentions are, but I'm certain we don't want to find out." and with that she leaps over to the giant golem housing the rock from space, delivering a flying dropkick. Unfortunately, the golem sees her coming and gets its guard up to absorb the blow well in advance. Maxima's feet barely touch the ground before she has to leap to the side as the oncoming pillar of stone that is the giant's arm crashes to the ground, right where she had been standing a moment before. As the two combatants size each other up, their fight is intruded upon by the pond--scum-muck monster, as it sprays Maxima with whatever gunk it's using as a projectile now, and the later staggers around, clearly unable to see.
