  1. Holding Eddie's hand, Elizabeth watch the opera quietly, trying to hide that she was watching him as much as the opera. She knew that the last one bummed him out, so she would bail him out if he looked upset this time. Though it looked like he enjoyed it. She nodded along as he gave his summation of the whole act in a few lines. She had never heard it phrased that way. "Rocky, eh? That's a stretch. But if you squint at it and turn your head sideways, I guess that works." She winked, "You know, maybe we can all learn something about tenacity with this." She chuckled at the Dio comment. There was so much Norse imagery in metal that she couldn't help but think it all meshed together. Though there were a few that stood out. She hummed a few bars of the music from the play as they waited for the next act to start.
  2. The cultist was pretty much out of it, though the jolt woke him up some. Looming over him was an angry sparkling man! The cultist was sore afraid! He tried to speak but the first few sentences were scared unrecognizable gibberish. The last two sentence were understandable enough. "" he yelled in his native tongue, "
  3. Knight's Ink was getting pretty good business lately. There were a few rooms in use. Wesley had gotten a few requests for the modifications tonight. He was making a tidy profit off of it if he did say so himself. In a few hours he would be combing the streets looking for dangerous criminals, but now he was just your normal everyday average body artist. The bell rang as Eric opened the door. He got four or five random greetings from the waiting area/shop. Wesley noticed the guy as the one from the Cafe with the band... Carnival of Souls. It was pretty good. Wesley was a bit eclectic in his taste of music. He got up from the counter and called someone over in his steed. He walked over to meet Eric. "Welcome to Knight's Ink," Wesley said reaching a hand out, "I'm Wesley Knight. How's it goin?"
  4. The cultists tried to run away from the angry kineticist, but found that their hasty retreat was met by bolts of retribution! Only their leader was left standing. He looked angry. "" he said angrily in his native Italian, shaking his fist at Quinn, "" He touched Elizabeth's forehead and muttered a magical incantation. They both disappeared. All that was left was Quinn and the downed cultists.
  5. Reflex Saves (1d20=13, 1d20=11, 1d20=20) Two fall over! One might make it! DC 19 Toughness! (1d20+2=11) But he doesn't!
  6. I'd not like to skip such a wide berth of time, but I am not gonna drag others behind :P
  7. "That would be fine," Elizabeth said agreeing with the trip home. The limo driver opened the door and she got in, holding Eddie by the hand. With a light swift pull she managed to get him in. The limo ride home was quiet except for some small talk about a few warm places they would like to be at the moment. This cold weather was for the polar bears. They did find warmth in each other though. The next day was Black Friday so they decided to stay in and not get trampled by shoppers. They worked on the album some, but mostly kept each other company. There was Christmas things to do! Christmas shows. Christmas trees. Christmas carols. All leading up to the next night when the opera started.
  8. The man crumpled under a speeding bullet of kinetic energy! Muse was very thankful that he had lied, but she still couldn't get away from the cultist's grip! She had one free leg to kick them now, thanks to Quinn's little white lie. Not that it helped any. These guys seemed really thick. It actually hurt to kick them! "Very good, Quinn," she shouted while struggling, "Now keep shooting!"
  9. "Yeah, this flying is for the birds," Wesley chuckled. He flew down to the ground and sat her on her feet, making sure to hold on to her so she wouldn't fall. As he was helping her his back swallowed the wings and they were now visible to other people besides each other. Not that anyone else was around. Though the warmth still stayed. Poor girl, he could probably fix that circulation problem. Though it would probably was something he shouldn't do without her knowing. And he didn't want to start the first date with 'You have bad blood circulation, want me to fix it?' He let her stretch her legs a bit while subtly helping to speed up the process. "Alright," he looked around, eyes glowing. "Nothing so far. Though That in itself could mean something."
  10. Indeed, they did find a lot of hobos. Luckily for him and her, Wesley took another hit and no one could see or hear them. Unless they were super hobos. Then again, who knows in this city. Super hobos or not, they flew around invisible and soundless to all but each other. They were warm and flying also. It was almost dreamlike. He expected to wake up anytime. Wesley didn't want to pry into her personal life too much, but small talk was running out! He sighed calmly, "I guess it's a good thing that we're not finding the bad guys out here tonight. No bad guys, no crime. Right?"
  11. One of the thugs handling Elizabeth stopped. It was like the shock spoke to him. He didn't know English, but the sentiment was very clear. This guy was one of those 'superheroes' he heard about all the time on the international news about America. Could he be from Freedom City even? The cultist's heart sank. He didn't stop, but he felt bad taking away from what they considered 'the good guys'. He wrested his hand away. "" With that the four men and the leader ran away with Elizabeth in tow, her still calling for help and no one seeming to notice.
  12. Wesley playfully swung Lynn with a friendly hug as a reaction for the warm sentiment. With a small smile as he received the kiss, he let her go. He remembered this scene so well, but it took on a new meaning with Lynn as a friend. It was comfortable still, but in a different way. The mention of a 'crime fighting date' seemed like an action filled movie. Possibly starting Brad and Angelina. He chuckled as she nitpicked him clean "Lynn, you're the best. I don't know what else to say. Thank you." He thought about what she said, "Well it's going to be in Greenbank. I didn't think they had anything out there besides train tracks and warehouses. Though now that I think about it, you could hide a lot of things in a warehouse. I'm sure she's got something special in mind." He sighed and smiled warmly. "Now what about you? I owe you for this."
  13. Muse tried her damnedest to break free on the demon's grip but no matter how hard she tried it was a little bit quicker and a little bit stronger. Holding on to her like a vice grip. The Demons futilely swung at Gabriel one managed to even scrape him. The demon holding Muse down got a sinister look in it's eyes. Even more sinister than it looked usually. It saddled itself on her lower torso. Writhing, she felt something grab her arms and her legs, she didn't know. She was focusing on the thing pinning her down. In a mockery of the lifesaving technique, the demon placed it's hands on her ribcage and pressed hard. She tried to scream but it was too late. The last thing she heard before passing out was loud crunching and snapping noises where the demon pressed down.
  14. Demons attacking Gabriel (1d20+5=9, 1d20+5=9, 1d20+5=21) DC 22 Toughness Save DC 27 Toughness, DC 17 Fortitude (1d20+12=20, 1d20+10=14) One Bruise. One Injury. Stunned and Dying (which gets knocked to stabilized by the free Diehard)
  15. Escape Artist (1d20+10=13) Opposing the escape (1d20+11=27) Rerolling escape artist (1d20.minroll(11)+10=22) Well, this might turn tragic!
  16. Toughness save 25 (1d20+10=21) one sewer down
  17. The demonic henchmen seemed bolstered by their leader's empowering. Maybe that's why they were so distracted. They seemed to flail at Gabriel, not really hitting him with anything. and only one was lucky enough to catch Muse, but the beast dragged her to the ground!
  18. first three on Gabriel, second four on Muse (1d20+5=7, 1d20+5=18, 1d20+5=15, 1d20+5=11, 1d20+5=15, 1d20+5=15, 1d20+5=24) One gets Muse! Grapple Check (1d20+11=26) There's no way she can beat that. She's bound and helpless.
  19. Muse nodded at Gabriel's command and rushed toward the grisly scene where the rites were being held. the beast was almost sown up as the leader chanted. When she called forth her divine power to smite the leader something odd happened. It was like he absorbed it! The golden corona that signified her smite was sucked into the body of the leader as he chanted. It seemed to bolter him even as he grew larger and more demonic looking! Muse stopped and stared in awe. What had she done?
  20. The four others stood in awe of the power they had just seen. Even though they saw it it was like a dream they didn't believe. Mind could sense their uneasiness. She quickly subverted their minds into talking about something else. Mentally placing Knight out of their heads, all five focused on Razorwing. The two closest to him smiled while the others made their way up there. "[bg=#FFFF00]So,[/bg]" Mind said happily, "[bg=#FFFF00]I hear you're going to be a teacher? Well sensai,[/bg]" she smirked, "[bg=#FFFF00]what shall we learn today?[/bg]"
  21. Did she have more powers than he knew? Was her turning invisible not what it seemed? Wesley felt like one of those Twenty Questions magazines for superheroes. Unless she wanted to talk about it more in depth, it felt like he was a prying fanboy. "That's cool," he smiled, "maybe we can show each other what we can do later on?" He began to fly closer to into Greenbank's street level. "Any place in particular that we're aiming for," he whispered, "or are we just looking for signs of life?"
  22. "Football, baseball, basketball," Wesley said with remembrance, "In high school, you name it I played it." The memories turned sour again as he was reminded why he didn't play them anymore. "Yeah, just enough to keep up." He shook his head, trying to hide the glum look with a smile. "It's been a few years, but i still keep up." Clearing his throat, "But yeah, the life of a hero keeps me busy enough with the workout. Not to mention I play some pick up games and go to the gym every once in a while. Being a shapeshifter I have to watch what's real and what's not very carefully." He wasn't trying to sound like he was impressing her with anything. At least he hoped it didn't sound like he was bragging or anything.
  23. Elizabeth was confused at the man's intrusion. She happened to know Greek and could tell that he was a novice at the language. She tried to speak up as he was talking, but she was quickly grabbed. She fought, kicking and screaming, but no one seemed to hear her except Quinn and the men. "Put me down," she yelled in Greek, Italian and English. She struggled against them, but there was no escape. "Quinn," she yelled, "help!"
  24. Wesley thought about the things Silhouette was saying. As horrible as he had it growing up, at least he didn't have to live like this. He felt their pain in a totally different way. He tried not to think about the past too much, it added on to the creepiness of this place. "Yeah, it's not really 'sight' per se," he said turning on the glowing green eyes, "but it works as such. I can sense living and unliving things within range of 'sight'." Silhouette pinged off as the closest. As he analyzed her, he noticed a few things. "You keep in shape very well," he complimented her, "Are you a gymnast?" Though the poor girl had bad blood circulation, he was glad that he could keep her warm.
