  1. After a few minutes of shoving and name calling, Sam cajoled Brad into hanging out on the playground with him a little while longer. The two boys climbed up on the top of the swing set, and Brad began going on and on about . . . whatever. Sam was distracted, not paying Brad any attention; he was looking out over the playground, waiting for something. After a moment . . . "Look! There he is!" Sam pointed across the playground toward a third boy who had just crossed the street and was walking along the sidewalk just outside the fence on the other side of the playground. He was a scrawny little thing and wore a red baseball cap that was far to big for his head. "HEY, LOSER!" Sam yelled. The boy in the red cap jumped!. He looked mortified and started running. "Get him!" Sam yelled. He jerked Brad so hard they both tumbled off the swing set, hit the sand hard, and Sam was already running toward the boy in the red hat while Brad was still picking himself up. With Brad huffing and puffing along behind, Sam tore across the playground, scaled the fence, and caught up with the boy in the red hat in the middle of the street. Sam shoved the boy and sent him sprawling face-first into the road. The boy's red hat and glasses went flying in opposite directions, and his face scrapped against the merciless asphalt. Sam was laughing hysterically. "How do you like that, loser? That'll teach you to rat me out!"
  2. Wow! Just watched the season finale of Bones. Never saw that coming! No spoilers for those who are still catching up. *eyes Heritage* But wow! Never saw that coming . . .
  3. I was happy with JoT's answer. She only wants it to engulf her and her opponent, so . . . let's go with that.
  4. I nominate Dr A. to create the post, populate it with data, and maintain it. ;)
  5. If there is anything you guys need from me before you post, let me know. :)

    Indiana Jones!

I am not a real true-blue fan of any of those franchises you listed, so I may not be a representative sample. But in in all of those (Die Hard, Batman, and James Bond), the latest movies are by far my favorites.
  7. Just making the rounds. Are you guys done here, or are you coming back to this?
  8. Roger that! When you guys are done, Dr. A., if you will do the honors . . . :)

    Indiana Jones!

I think you will find most Indiana Jones fans completely disagree with this assessment. I don't think I've ever heard or read a diehard Indiana Jones fan say anything nice about the 2nd movie. But there may be some. Most of the fans, reviewers, and other interested parties usually argue about whether or not the first is better than the third. I like the third the best so far. The Last Crusade FTW! :D
  10. I don't know that we need a separate post in the News forum for that, though I am not opposed to it. Why not just put something like this in the first post of your personal News thread? An "about me" if you will. We don't have very many active characters. It wouldn't take long to skim through the news threads.
  11. It's a little "fuzzy" on the Freedom theme but easily readable. :)
  12. I have often found that people who like something will usually find a way to ascribe virtue to liking it. Looks like the opposite is true too. ;)
  13. Barnum is a restricted NPC. You need to ask permission first.
  14. A lot of us like to use colored text to highlight speech and other things in our posts. If you do, however, please keep in mind that our site has four templates, two of which are very "dark" and two of which are very "light." If you set no text color, the template automatically sets your text color to the default which is appropriate for the template. If, however, you select a text color manually, your text will appear that color in all the templates. As a result, some colored text is very difficult to read in some templates. For example: In the Freedom theme the default text is white, but say I want to change the color of my text to something just a little different to make speech stand out . . . so I change it to off-white. Well now the text will show up off-white in all themes and will be nearly impossible to read for those who use the subSilver2 and proSilver themes. All of this is just FYI. You are free to color your text however you like, but do keep in mind other users and the other templates. Also, if you are having trouble reading colored text in your template, simply highlight the text with your mouse. That should "inverse" the color scheme and make the text easy to read. Thanks for all the great posts!
  15. Any other thoughts on this? We are going to be making a decision on this soon, so if you want to weigh in, now's the time. :D
  16. You can go ahead and post enough to tell how you got to the neighborhood. I should be able to finish up the preliminaries enough to cue Maggot's grand entrance in my next post. What I was thinking: -Barnum sets the scene -Affliction and VM post to get them into the neighborhood -Barnum finishes the scene -Maggot terrorizes the playground (for a post or two) -VM to the rescue
  17. 900 topics! (about to be) 16,000 posts! 126 members!
  18. I just saw the full trailer for the lasted Indy flick at the movies today, and when I came home, Sci-Fi was doing an Indiana Jones marathon. Anyone else as excited as I am about this new flick? :D
  19. Alrighty, the first post is up. The scene: a playground somewhere in the 'burbs. The cast: two miscreant teenagers who are about to be up to no good. Your next posts: whatever you want, but probably getting yourselves on the way to the playground would make some sense. If you could, stay off the playground until the mischief is made manifest. (sounds like a Harry Potter spell . . . 'Mischief Manifest!')
  20. The sun was starting to set, leaving the sky bright orange and casting long shadows over the abandoned playground. Brad looked at his watch. "I better get home," he said. Samuel punched his friend in the shoulder. It was a "playful" gesture, but a painful one nonetheless. "Don't be such a wus!" "I can't get nailed by my parents again. I'll never see the light of day." "Wus!" Samuel repeated. The two boys had been friends since the second grade. The blood-brother kind of friends that only little boys can make. But now that they were in high school, their friendship had turned into something more dysfunctional than blood-brothers. Brad had steadily put on weight since his parents divorced when he was in the seventh grade. This made him the butt of many jokes, and somewhat of an outcast at school. Samuel stood by him anyway, but not as equals, not like the old days. Samuel knew that his social stats was vastly superior to Brads, but he kept Brad around anyway, especially when no one was looking. Brad was easy, compliant, and when he was around Samuel felt superior in every way. That and Brad was an easy patsy for when they got into trouble . . . which happened a lot these days.
  21. I went to see Iron Man today with my daddy. Thumbs up!
