  1. 1. Your Deflect Rank is capped by your Defense Bonus, so in your case 8. Other than that . . . Approved
  2. First of all . . . no, we are not going to ask you for money. As you all probably know, getting people to stick with a site in PbP (much less a game or a character) is no easy task. We have a few remarkable people who have been with us from the beginning, and we have high hopes that some of our newer players will still be around with us this time next year. Sticking with a character around here is, in a way, its own reward because of PP accumulation, but we are contemplating rewarding long-term players who stick with the same character with an additional reward . . . "Gold" status. Other than the spiffy "Gold" label (or some other more heroic name), we just aren't sure what the reward should be. 1. We want the achievement we reward to be something substantial. Right now we are thinking that to become "Gold," a player would need to earn 30 PPs for one of his/her characters. At the current rate of PP awards, that would take most players 8-10 months to earn. I think that's about right. 2. We also want the reward to be something substantial. Some ideas that have already been suggested: -The privilege of being able to create a 3rd character. -The privilege of being able to create replacement characters at a higher PL (either by allowing them two PL 10s or something else like allowing them to "cash in" an existing character to recoup some of the earned PPs for a new character). -Less restrictions on character creation (though working out the detail on this would be very difficult). So . . . what do you think of these as rewards? What other "rewards" might be good to consider? What would you like as a reward for all of your hard work? :D
  3. Everything checks out okay. When you decide to spend your extra PPs, you will need approval for those purchases, and if you plan on adding some alt powers soon, it would be best to start by cashing in the luck. Approved
  4. We do have at least one mother here, so . . . Happy Mother's Day! And even if you aren't a mother, make sure you do something nice for yours today. :D
  5. Approved. As soon as another Ref takes a look you'll be all set.
  6. 1. It looks like you are one skill rank short of 30 PPs. I count 119 skill ranks. 2. For clarity, go ahead and write this up like: Device 2 (Armor, Hard to Lose) -Protection 10 Or something similar. So long as it is clear how many ranks of Protection you have. Everything else looks good.
  7. That is the meanest looking Captain Marvel that I've ever seen. Looks great.
  8. Cool. Just post here when you've made your changes, and I'll have another look. :)

  13. This thread is a listing of the various major events that have occurred in other areas around Freedom that would most likely go unnoticed. Players are encouraged to check this thread and to incorporate reactions to the events in their own thread. OTHER AREAS AROUND FREEDOM CITY The Skies Above Freedom -- It's a bird, it's a plane...it's the flying heroes and villains of Freedom City! Includes the breathable atmosphere as well as outer space. Sewers and Subways -- The dark and wet sewers of Freedom City hold many unseen dangers. The subways appear more safe, but are they? Rivers, Lakes and Oceans -- The various waterways in and around Freedom City. The Lands Beyond -- Occasionally the heroic endeavors of Freedom's finest take them beyond the city's boundaries into other cities, other countries, and even other dimensions.
  14. WEST END The Hunt Captain Wonder clashes with the demon Stygwyr in the name of truth, justice, and the Heliopolitan way. Silvered Thunders The Emissary and Captain Wonder make their way through West Freedom on a city patrol. Superheroing is discussed, children are dazzled, criminals are... something that begins with d that involves them being beaten the crap out of.
  15. LANTERN HILL Department 32: The Mysterium Another thankless day on the job for that much maligned and ignored red headed stepchild of the Freedom City police department, the Mysterium. No callous quips, frequently adjusted justice shades or blaring Roger Daltrey vocals here, just the ever thinning blue line between Freedomites and the occult horrors that would tear at their souls.
  16. GREENBANK The Hole Trapped by the mafia's latest efforts to end the shadowy vigilante's war on crime, Nightrival and Grimalkin face off against a warehouse full of death traps arranged by the sinister genius of the Warden. The Warden would also like to let the audience know that he's coming for that guy from Saw once this is over with. Amateur. Who uses a puppet. Seriously. Recruitment Villains! Whether forming a secret society, leaguing together for injustice, collectively mastering evil or.. um... insert vaguely clever wordplay involving the legion of doom here. Either way, when Ironhide, Blephegor, Ember and Maximus Grey get together, it doesn't bode well for Freedom City.
  17. ASHTON AND GRENVILLE Somebody Get Me an Exterminator! Bees! Horrible, horrible bees! (or possibly wasps). Whatever they are, they fly in swarms, they sting, and the creature called Maggot is terrorizing a park full of children with them. Mashin-Kun, a friend to children, has stepped up to their defense.
  18. This thread is a listing of the various major events that have occurred within West Freedom that would most likely go unnoticed. Players are encouraged to check this thread and to incorporate reactions to the events in their own thread. AREAS IN WEST FREEDOM Ashton and Grenville -- The bedroom communities of Ashton and Grenville are fairly new, having grown up over the past twenty years. Both are clean, modern suburban communities only barely keeping up with the demand for new homes. Greenbank -- Greenbank is a fairly depressed area, filled with mostly abandoned rail yards and old warehouses. It is a haven for criminals and organized crime. Lantern Hill -- The north side of the peninsula along the Wading River rises to a hill that is the site of some of the oldest settlements in the Freedom area. Now it is home to a number of historical locales, including Lantern Hill Cemetery and St. Stephen's Church. West End -- Flowing down from Lantern Hill toward Greenbank is the West End. Over the years a number of small ethnic communities have blended together to form this boisterous, mostly lower middle-class area. Row houses and ethnically oriented places of worship like St. Sebastian's church and Temple Ben David along with Ashton Mall and Trinity Hospital form the backbone of this community.
  19. I did. No . . . really! :D
  20. 1. You cannot buy Toughness directly like you can other saves, though you can accomplish almost the exact same thing by buying the Protection power. You just need to move these down to Powers and add a descriptor. The problem with that, however, is that equipment bonuses (from your Armored Jump suit) and bonuses from powers (Protection) don't stack. If I were you, I'd drop the armored jump suit and the Protection and buy Device 2 (hard to lose) [Protection 10]. It will cost 8 PPs, be the suit of armor you are looking for, and bring your total toughness up to its current max +14. 2. This should be Ranged: +8 (+5 base, +3 Attack Focus (Ranged)) 3. We need descriptors for your Teleport power (and Protection if you decide to go that way), and a bit of origin story for your powers would be good too. 4. Everything else looks okay to me. BUT are you sure you want to have a character with no Defense bonus? You are going to get hit every time someone swings. That might not be much fun. With your toughness at +14, you can have up to +6. You can get this by buying it direction (2 PPs/rank) or with the Dodge Focus feat.
  21. Awesome! "Run Heridfel! Run!" :)
