  2. Dwayne Devon Davidson had been asleep. He was on call, but the correct thing to do whenever you're working on the shift is to catch some sleep when you can. But no EMT sleeps through alarms either. When the station started blaring, his eyes snapped open. The dispatcher's voice rang through the bunk. Monorail crash. Injuries. Serious. Pants, boots, shirt buttoned. He was ready in a few seconds, stomping his boots as he ran towards the ambulance. "Let's go let's go let's go!" He clapped his hands quickly, getting his partner up and at them as they ran towards the ambulance. They were out of the station before the trucks were, as fast as could be; sirens blaring as they cut down the streets, with careful, effective speed. He was calm under pressure, but he had practiced this, and he was ready; he'd had plenty of emergencies before, after all. He navigated the heavy ambulance with speed as they headed to the site in question. Once the ambulance arrived, it was time for triage. They tagged who they could, and worked with the firemen to help anyone who was severely injured but still capable of saving. This was his job, his serious, non-heroism job, and he had far more experience at that.
  3. (GM Post) As the two Claremont students were discussing the future and their ongoing existence, something strange was happening all across the library. It started with ruffling books. In the library it started in the middle of the exhibit. Old pages under glass cases fluttering in the wind that didn't exist in the middle of the library. Mumbling and wind started. Then the effect started to spread. Rustling through the library, then out into the wild. From inside of Michael's bookbag, something popped the zipper from the inside out. A burly looking man crawled out, only the size of a man's palm, but looking as rough as a trip down the Mississippi and back, a rough beard, an oarsman's tattered outfit. He scrambled out of the backpack and let out a woop, swinging his pint sized arms too and fro. "Lookie here, ya galoots, I'm Mike Fink, and if you're wanting a brawl, I'm the boy for it." Across the rest of the stairs, similar things were acting up; pint-sized versions of the pictures in books harassing the people that had borrowed the books in question. A tiny John Henry, a minuscule Paul Bunyan, a petite Davey Crockett and more.
  4. (Golden Star Post) "No, Protestant only. Mom's family has been W.A.S.P.s for as far as they go. But I still go every weekend with Mom. So it's not like I'm not keeping up with my faith." he said as he closed his eyes. "So it'll be interesting to see the differences at least; maybe I'll think Martin Luther is full of crap or something." he laughed. He squeezed her hand tighter and enjoyed the soft feeling of her fur. He was enjoying it, and enjoying spending time with her. He liked Carmen for the effort she put into things. He didn't have to expend much effort in a lot of ways that other people did; he got to skate by on being the right gender and the right race and having a pretty face. He always kept himself aware of that, but it wasn't something he talked about to people either. He had conflicting feelings. "You're not going to college? I guess that's fair...the Patriot could probably get you a good Government Job, a lot of those have nice pensions too. If you do end up wanting it or needing it, I'll help you work on any applications or the like you need...I don't actually know what paperwork comes with that transition though, I'd have to do some research on it." He said. It wasn't something that seemed like he had an issue with it, just something he didn't know about at that point.
  5. alright, new enemy has joined the fray; Hotshot. Initiative Results 1d20+3: 10 [1d20=7] I'm not clear if Neko gets a HP for him being able to see through her Illusion due to the battlesuit. If it needs to be so, she can have the HP. @Avenger Assembled's turn! Round 2 Neko: 28, 1HP Kazra: 26,1x Bruised Timeout: 21, 4HP Esquire: 21, 1x Bruise, Everyone has Total Concealment from him. Drones: 13, 5 of them Hotshot: 10 Daniel: 4, Bruise Iris: 4 2HP
  6. (GM Post) The Hunter was a willy one indeed, and he fought of the Telekinesis even though he couldn't tell where the group was coming from. "Oh no you don't, I'm not getting caught with such a novice move, my good opponents." he called in threat. Then the drone Iris threw hit him straight in the face and exploded, and he stumbled back a few steps, holding his broken nose. "How dare you! You should know better than to beat up your elders! I say, are all you people in this world so rude and uncultured!?" he yelled. "I will not be standing for this, I assure you." "Boss, I'm coming in now." spoke a voice on a loudspeaker above "About time! Any longer and I'd have to cut your pay." the man responded. What descended was less a person and more a mobile fireball with a suit of armor inside of it. Some sort of robotic battlesuit, definitely, but with a distinct firey theme; white and blue. It was encased in a burning orange and red aura and spewing flames from the feet as it pulled in. "I can't see them, Hotshot!" called the man. "These damnable cats are impossible to hear or see over!" "Relax....I can see them clear as day right here." Hotshot responded. "I'm gonna take them out." And coming ever closer was the sound of roaring; something big and heavy was making it's way towards the group.

"Ah! Hey!" Michael yelled in surprise as the blasts hit Iris head on and she went down. He turned his attention back to the tower and growled, glowing ever brighter as he shoved against it. "YOU! STOP! THAT! NOW!" he roared at General Sparks, strength filling his arms as he tried to shove the entire tower over. He turned around and flew away, soaring up and away several thousand feet. Then he turned back around and charged at the weakened section of the tower, going so fast the corona of light around him warped into a trailing bubble of red/gold light as he got faster and faster before he smashed directly into the tower at full speed!
  9. Alright, that's a crit! So I'm treating this as a TK attack on both the Drone and Esquire; this means the DC is 15 + Power Rank + 5, which is 28. Toughness Results 1d20+8: 20 [1d20=12] The drone Explodes! Toughness Results 1d20+5: 24 [1d20=19] Esquire rolls very well however, he only takes a bruise! Round 1 Neko: 28, 1HP Kazra: 26,1x Bruised Timeout: 21, 4HP Esquire: 21, 1x Bruise, Everyone has Total Concealment from him. Drones: 13, 5 of them Daniel: 4, Bruise Iris: 4 2HP once Draco does their IC post, an ally will be joining on Esquire's side and then it will be Neko's turn.
  10. Missed the response because I'm bad. Okay; so Esquire has Uncanny Dodge, BUT since this is the first round and this is basically you all surprising him suddenly, I'll let the sneak attack go through for this one but he'll be aware from now on. Grapple Roll Results 1d20+14: 30 [1d20=16] So Iris grapples and Throws it. In Comparison, on Daniel's roll; Grapple Roll Results 1d20+11: 31 [1d20=20] The guy gets a nat 20 and escapes. So Iris should now roll an Attack roll (Can't take 10 on it); if she hits, she's hit the guy with the drone. Otherwise she's just smashed the drone into the tree he's hiding behind

The lightning bolts came down hard on Michael, but he was in the zone at this point! He was really feeling it, on cloud nine after all these struggles, at the runner's high portion of the event! Even the bolts that did hit him through the shower bounced off him and left him completely unharmed. He felt like he could take on the entire world. "Your power's all washed up, General Sparks! You might be the biggest cheese, but I'm the grill, and we're gonna turn you into grilled cheese! And we're GAS powered, not electric!" leaving aside that gas grills were actually older than electric ones but whatever. "So get ready for some grill marks! We're taking you out!" He declared as he swooped down to the thinnest point of the wobbly, wibbly tower, and slammed into it with his shoulder like a burst of solar light, making a great big echoing BOOM as he smacked into it! It wobbled more, but stayed steady, but he was prepared to hit it again when he could swing back around.
  12. alright! Let me see! And we talked about a DC25 Strength check to knock over the tower so let me roll that. Strength Check Results 1d20+15: 19 [1d20=4] Negative! IC post coming in
  13. "Bolas could be interesting...It'd help lock people up. I've been working on that a bit myself; ranged options, not bolas necessarily. Like...laser beams or something." He said, smiling. "I could see you cutting an inspiring figure, wrapping up goons in bolas and being like 'No one can escape my claws!' or something like that." He didn't want to talk heroing, but he did love talking up Carmen, so for that at least, he was very pro talking about how cool Carmen was. But he didn't at all mind switching to something else and sighing happily as he finished his sandwich and wiped his own mouth to lean back against the pillar, and partially onto her. He was quite comfortable at this point. "That would be great, then. We'll bring you along, introduce you to my parents. Everything will go a-okay. Just a nice, relaxing vacation, I think." he said. "Then after that you'll be a senior...almost ready to go on to the rest of your life. Won't that be interesting." He thought about it for a bit. "Well, I'm sure no matter how it goes, it'll be good for you and you'll excel." he nodded. "...I should go to church with you on Sunday. I know I usually go with my Mom, but still, it'd be appropriate, I think."
  14. Star Squire Power Level: 7 (120/120PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: -2/+2 on Defense/Toughness In Brief: A new Star Knight, whose brash and boastful, but has a lot of potential Catchphrase: A Star Knight is always Vigilant. Theme: Rumble: Zayde Wolf Alternate Identity: Zendaar of the Zultasians Birthplace: Somewhere in Khanate Space Residence: Roving throughout the Galaxy Base of Operations: Mobile, or Citadel Occupation: Intergalactic Peacekeeper Affiliations: The Star Knights Family: His family on his homeworld Description: Age: 26 (DoB: Equivalent Earth Year 1998]) Apparent Age: Roughly the same Gender: Male Ethnicity: Blue Space Elf Height: 6'2 Weight: 185 Pounds Eyes: Black Hair: Silver Zendaar is a lanky looking space alien with blue skin, silver hair, and elf-like ears. He's quite attractive in the way that such creatures often are; exotic and seemingly fragile looking at times. His Star Knight armor is a pearl white color with a ruby gem in the center. His voice is silken but he has quite the foul mouth on him when he gets upset. History: Zendaar of the Zultasians is a braggart, a lout, and a rastabout. He's been thrown out of a bars in thirty systems, he's always evasive about heading back home, and he's prone to putting words out there he may not actually be able to match up with. He would be the last person you would think of as being a Star Knight. But he was picked as one regardless, and now finds himself attempting to fit into a job that he doesn't think he's really suited for- he finds the rules and regulations a bit stifling-, and is trying to do his best. He isn't sure why he was chosen to be a Star Knight, and many of the people around aren't sure either, but Mentor has rarely- if ever- chosen wrong, so people are convinced about Mentor's choices, if not Zendaar himself. Millisand is his Star Knight trainer, and though he respects the ancient gorilla immensely, their personalities can often clash; He is much more hot-headed than the calm, thoughtful Beringi, and has to be reigned in- or rescued- at times. Personality & Motivation: Zendaar is confident, prone to bending the rules, and always looking out for the fastest way to get something done, even if it's not strictly regulatory. He's got a mouth on him that he can usually use to get out of trouble, but when it can't, it's great at helping him get away. Despite all of this, it's wrong to say that Zendaar is a bad person, or even a rebel in some ways. He wants to do good, and he tries very hard to do good, but he's just not someone to whom that comes naturally. Powers & Tactics: Zendaar's great at distracting people with his motor mouth; he's taunting and quick-witted, knocking people off their game with peppered insults and taunts. For his summoned weapons, he favors a dueling saber of light in one hand, and similarly summoned pistol in the other. Though he has no need to summon a pistol of energy to shoot beams, he does it to complete the style that he fights with; a much higher class dueling style then someone would expect from someone who navigates via the location of bars. Power Descriptions: Zendaar's powers are regular Star Knight Powers; with his beams being a bright white with a red tinge. He tries to be mobile in his Star Knight armor, but he still relies on it significantly to protect him since he's still undergoing training. Complications: Always a Troublemaker: Zendaar might have people who know of him be very suspicious of the eternal troublemaker. Hot-Tempered: Zendaar cane be prone to flying off the handle, putting his foot in his mouth, or making a rash decision. Star Knight; Zendaar puts far less effort into being a proper, well meaning Star Knight then Millisand, but he still tries. 15. May, 2024 The school year was slowly winding down. In the next month, Claremont would be finished for the year. The seniors would be moving on, and everyone else would be moving up. A new batch of Freshmen would be moving in. The Barking Raven Arcade, in Riverside, was offering discounts on tokens for the last few weeks of the School Year; a strategy to get bored students in and maybe make them think about spending their summer playing on the flashing screens. For students who were burnt out on studying finals or projects, Barking Raven offered a reprieve. The arcade was a fairly large fixture on Dikto street; a broad building with two stories and an open central area once you entered through the doors. It had both games one could play for tickets- and a massive wall of prizes- and competitive arcade and single player games; it had cabinets of shooters, racing games, DDR, and fighting games alongside basketball games, skeeball, and the like. It was a place for everyone, despite the turned down lights, and it offered all you could want for a day where you didn't want to think about school work anymore. Michael had started sending texts beginning in the morning. It had been free to spread to anyone at the school; after all, it was easy for one friend to tell two friends and so on. In that way, it was known within Claremont that there was an excursion planned out to head to Barking Raven and take a break before the very very end of the school year. He had also been clear that if anyone didn't have the spare cash but wanted to go, he would pay for their arcade adventure. Michael himself had arrived not long after ditching his Claremont uniform for a very simple t-shirt and jeans combo that looked almost nothing like Michael Adon, and he was currently blasting zombies on a House of the Dead machine. His constantly around friend Sam had decided to camp on a Street Fighter VI Machine, where she was playing Juri against anyone who decided to try and go a few rounds.
  16. sorry, my bad on being late on this. Though before I start putting stuff up; I feel like Iris and Daniel should have their Forcefields up, though I guess it's up to Cape's call on that, and I should focus on my own house! Reflex Results 1d20+6: 23 [1d20=17] I somehow make the Reflex! Toughness Results 1d20+9: 23 [1d20=14] And I make the toughness due to that! Woo!
  17. I can push us down to the Race proper if we're good with that; From what I can tell looking at the sheets, Michael isn't winning anything, but Mizuki and Veuriz might need a roll off since they have the same MPH I think. Not sure what the roll would be, maybe just a power roll? 1d20+ Power Rank?
  18. (Golden Star Post) "Sure. A race sounds nice, it'll get my head in the right place." Michael said, smiling. "I'm sure you'll beat me out so don't embarrass me too much." He said with a laugh. He looked around a bit and thought. "Mizuki could ride with you, or, how about we head down to the South River and race over the water; then Mizuki can race against us too. We could start opposite side of the Sentry Statue and head down to the Centery Bridge. How's that sound?" he asked the two, grinning cheerfully. "That way everyone gets to participate."
  19. OK. So those are both Grapples to me. Iris' action is a full round Grapple attempt on a drone; you can take 10 on the attack roll, which would hit, then you roll the Grapple check using your Telekinesis; that's your 1d20+16, against the Robot's Grapple check. If you win, you can then toss it at the guy to damage them both. Daniel's action is a grapple attempt, which requires making an actual attack roll, since he's not a minion, then rolling the grapple check using his Telekinesis, which is I think the same 1d20+16, against his Grapple check. After that, you can damage, throw, or pin him.
  20. The hunter can be seen. remember it's technically Daniel's turn as well, so both can do their actions together and we'll sort it out together And a correction from Thev reminded me that Minions can't crit, so that's actually two bruises. Round 1 Neko: 28, 1HP Kazra: 26,1x Bruised Timeout: 21, 4HP Esquire: 21, Everyone has Total Concealment from him. Drones: 13, 6 of them - Iris: 4 2HP Daniel: 4, Bruise
  21. so, Iris is being attacked with a roll of 17. I believe her Defense is +8, so 18, so it misses her. Daniel got crit, so he has to roll a DC25 Toughness save. After that, it is both of their turns.
  22. Star Knight Power Level: 10 (180/180PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: None In Brief: An old Star Knight whose just one job off of Retiring. Catchphrase: A Star Knight is always Vigilant. Theme: My Way- Frank Sinatra Alternate Identity: Millisand Vermillion, The Ruby Knight, 'That Gorilla', 'The Old Man', and a hundred other epithets Birthplace: The State of Helian, on the Planque continent of Bereingi Residence: Roving throughout the Galaxy, or a home in Bereingi Base of Operations: Mobile, or Citadel Occupation: Intergalactic Peacekeeper Affiliations: The Star Knights Family: A large family on Bereingi, his Squire Xendriz Description: Age: 85 (DoB: Equivalent Earth Year 1939]) Apparent Age: Even people who don't really understand Bereingi aging can tell that Millisand is quite old Gender: Male Ethnicity: Alien Gorilla Height: 8ft 4 inches Weight: 630 pounds Eyes: Black Hair: Fully covered in a rich ruby fur Millisand is an 8 foot tall Gorilla by all respects, if not for the fact he speaks Galstandard and usually is wearing his Star Knight Armor, which is just as red as his fur. He's not patchy furred but he's clearly old; he has a pair of tiny glasses he has to wear when he's not in his armor, and he walks with a cane. While his size would seem to represent increased strength and resilience compared to normal sized individuals or humans, his advanced age has sapped almost all of his youth's impressive strength and resilience, leaving him only about as strong as an adult human. Because of his age, he's a bit clumsy now as well, but his mind is still sharp. He cuts a dashing figure still in his Star Knight Armor, which is covered in the scars of a lifetime of battle. He favors making his energy weapon into heavy hammers and axes, a left over from when he was younger. History: Millisand Vermillion is a truly ancient being, especially for his race. His race resembles Earth Gorillas, particularly the larger Eastern Gorillas. Bereingi are, indeed, almost physically the same as Earth Gorillas; they have similar physical strength and senses to those creatures. However, they are much more intelligent, and the fur that covers their body is a deep orange, with their 'silverback' fur being a deep crimson. As they age, more of their fur becomes deep crimson; when one's fur becomes fully red, they retire to live an easy life for their last few years. Millisand is entirely crimson underneath his Star Knight armor, but he continues to go out to protect the stars. He has a wife, he has a family; he has at least 10 grandchildren, last he knew. He had retired once, but the Communion forced him out of retirement. He was old then, but with the numbers of Star Knights reduced due to the Communion, he felt the need to once more don his armor and rejoin in protecting the universe. He walks with a cane when he isn't in his armor, and without the armor he has some issues with mobility. However, his mind is just as sharp as ever, and he attempts to carry out his duties with dignity and honor. He was recently given his very last 'mission'; to take the new Star Squire; Xendriz, and turn him into a model Star Knight. So Millisand has taken the hot-headed, aggressive Star Squire under his wing, so to speak. His goal is simple; if Xendriz is important enough to be worth the trouble of training- and Millisand has no reason to believe he isn't-, then Millisand is going to teach him everything about being a Star Knight, and then retire. Throughout his years as a Star Knight, Millisand- or sometimes called the Ruby Knight for his for his dark red Star Knight armor- is well known throughout the Universe, both positively and negatively. People know him, and they know about him; they know he's old, they know they have grudges against him, they're aware of him teaching a new Squire. He doesn't try to hide these things, but they weigh on him just as much as Xendriz's brashness and unflinching foolishness. He is just...tired. Personality & Motivation: Millisand is stoic, serious, and well-mannered. He carries out his job and does the right thing because he's always had the job and he believes in it. He doesn't wear the weight of the worlds on his shoulder, but he carries out what he believes he needs to without complaint. In the end, he just really wants to finish his final job as a success, and retire for the rest of his life- however long he has- on Bereingi to live out his days. But he isn't going to leave it half done either. Powers & Tactics: Millisand has the standard Star Knight Armor, though he relies on it more than most due to his advanced age. He was quite the brute in his younger days, using his large size and great physical power to handle rogue threats, but he's lost much of that strength in his old age; he's had to become more strategic, more careful, and plan out what he intends to do more tightly. He isn't a coward, but he's not rash anymore; the scars and marks on his armor speak to a life spent aggressively but he's grown out of that these days. Power Descriptions: Millisand's powers are regular Star Knight Powers; his armor is crimson and his beams in color vary from deep red to a light pink depending on the preciseness of the beam. His physical style resembles how he would fight in his younger days; relying on pure physical strength, but now it's heavily augmented by his Star Knight Armor and he has to be more precise, but thankfully he has many years of that. Complications: Old as Dirt: Millisand is quite old, and has many of the trials and tribulations that come with being old. He has difficulty seeing without the corrective lenses in his Star Knight armor or his stand alone glasses, he has difficulty walking without his cane, and he has back pain and bad knees. Any sort of effect that is standard to an aging body can be given to Millisand as a Complication A Household Name: Millisand is rather well known for his actions when he was younger. This is not neccesarily always positive, as troublemakers or those with underworld or criminal connections can spot him out quite easily; he's effectively worthless undercover or in sneaking missions because of this, and it's always possible for someone to have heard of him or spot him in a crowd to a negative effect. Rambunctious Student: Millisand puts a lot of his focus on making sure his job of teaching Xendriz is carried out correctly, and he will put his student's safety before his own Star Knight; Millisand also puts a lot of effort into being a proper, well meaning Star Knight. 23. (Golden Star Post) "A flail...Huh." he rolled it forward. "You could like...wrap it around people's legs or something too, right? Trip them up." he pondered. "I mean this thing is all energy, right? So maybe I could manipulate it." he looked at it again and then laughed. "Ah! Whatever! I'm trying to not think about that stuff." He said bashfully, shaking his head as if to move on to the conversation and focus on something else. "School's almost over for the year, do you have any plans over the summer? Maybe if my family heads out on vacation somewhere you can come with us? Maybe somewhere out in the Midwest or something, they're still deciding. Or maybe Canada." He offered to her casually. "If you think your guardians would be okay with it, at least."
  24. (GM Post) As Predator carried Echohead across the rooftops, the wannabe secret agent could...feel. He could feel, below him, the beings moving around now that he was close enough, and Predator carrying him gave him the time to focus. Each of the Dennis Deacons, even in their brains, was the same. More than 'the same', they were identical. These weren't surface level changes to the individual person. Even the connections in a person's brain were overwritten. Memories, IQ, Feelings, Emotions. All of them were all the exact same. But it wasn't just one mind; there was a second, somewhere, laying over each of the brains; a passenger, on each of the Dennis Deacon's brains. There was something at the root of this, infecting the inside of the brains. And then the pair were at the hospital, and one of the windows opened. In the darkness, lit only by the slowly flashing sign, someone waved them in. "Hurry, get in here before they see you. We're trying to hide in here." The voice was panicked, concerned, scared. It opened the window and stepped back to let the two in. "I don't know who you are, but I'm hoping you can help." In their hands or attached to their suits, the scanners they built beeped. They needed to get into the Hospital. To find the original Dennis Deacon and begin calibrations.
  25. (GM Post) "Thank you, Lawrence." The huntress said. She continued to stay quiet, observing what was going on with Neko and the hunter carefully. The Hunter himself did absolutely nothing to help the wounded woman, in fact he went to push her out of the way before realizing she was fake! "Get out of the way, you crazed bird! I'm hunting!" then the cats came after him and he yelled in surprise. "Blimey! There weren't supposed to be any moggy in this forest!" he yelped as he fled, attempting to hide behind a tree, but not being exactly sure where his prey is. "Drones! Take them out! I don't want to be mucking about with this, I'm still tracking that big palooka!" At his order, the drones chirped like birds and moved directly towards the Claremonters and their guide; they were clearly fully autonomous, at least in some way, shooting bright red lasers into the foliage; precise beams struck Kazra in the hip again, leaving a nasty burn that smelled quite...unnerving. The drones continued to float around, trying to keep the group pinned in their hiding place for when the hunter finally managed to get his focus back in.
