  1. Silvia scans the passing cityscape while the group plans their approach, catching Young Britannia's supercomputer comments, which raise an eyebrow. Presumptuous, though it is perhaps understandable from one who does not understand the ship. "Unfortunately," she corrects, "That will not be possible. This ship does not have a supercomputer, as you understand it. Much of her control equipment is biological. Central navigation is as comparable to an animal brain as to an Earth hard drive, and the same is true for most ship functions. If you require equipment which can interface with Earth technology, Lord Giles has a laptop and a wireless internet connection."
  2. Sam just offers Cerys a wave before heading off, grabbing a blouse before she goes to the other side. She already knows what she wants, so before long, she's back. Though she'd prefer to wear a men's dress shirt with this ensemble, she needs the blouse to expose her brand. It's a white number, loose with a bit of lace, joining a pair of black slacks, suspenders, a black fedora, and men's dress shoes. Instead of the big cream colored scarf, she has a smaller checkered scarf in two shades of brown. The first of the group she comes across is Cerys, so she continues their conversation. "You were totally taunting," she begins, not that she understood a word her friend said that day on the ship, "But don't worry. I did it better with my mind." She taps her head and spots Mali, opting to go over there before Cerys thinks up a comeback. When she reaches Mali, she takes a knee, kneeling before her in her own overblown way. "Madame," her voice bears the hint of the terrible American notion of a posh 'British' accent, "Thou art positively stunning," and with a flourish, she takes Mali's hand and kisses her fingertips, hoping to improve her friend's mood. Or at least leave her hilariously embarrassed.
  3. Silvia listens as she supervises the goings-on on the weatherdeck, not that it's needed at the moment unless some giant fire-breathing virus jumps up and tries to eat them, which has only happened to the ship once, but you can't be too careful. "I see," the captain begins. "And unfortunately, even after Mister Vetto, there is sure to be more legwork. We may have found the source of the disease, and we are closing behind the will to spread it, but mere students surely do not have the resources to cause this epidemic." She sighs, growing frustrated, longing to find the real culprits so that she can blow down their doors, storm their base, and wage glorious battle against them.
  4. Despite her friends' protests, Sam unreservedly loves the look on Tona. Not that she can manage much more than a smile and a thumbs up before the outfit starts getting flak. And then, things turn to Mali. "Hey, there are plenty of guys-" she feels a bit awkward specifying only guys, but it's shaping up to be the thing to do tonight, so she doesn't make a point of it, "-who have no problems with a girl stronger than they are. Just worry about them. And in our line of work, there are plenty of guys who can bench press a house anyways." But that's enough doom and gloom. When Mali suggests they need new clothes to go out and about, Sam strikes her best, most exaggerated model pose. Feet wide, hand at her side, snake-hips thrown off to the side sending red skirt swaying and bangles clattering as she puts her other hand behind her head. She's tempted to go with the ennui of the beautiful, but instead offers her biggest grin and a wink. "I'm already good to go, doncha think?" She drops the pose and muses. "Though I did have something nice shredded on the job the other day," she says, glancing towards Cerys who was there when she got blasted with glass shards, her outfit ruined. "Maybe I could go with something easier to dance in, and a bit more... dapper." She turns her gaze towards the men's department, wondering at their selection of hats.

  7. As the duo ventures onward and downward, Stormbreaker advances sword-drawn. As they start crossing more and more wiring, she raises her weapon, then stops herself, considering her companion. "Do you need light to see, or can you navigate by electrical signals or some such?" she asks, doubting she'll be so fortunate. Cutting off power anywhere she can and destroying the lighting would be a huge advantage, if they could both see. Though if not, they can still handle things the old fashioned way.
  8. "Of course," Sam adds to Cerys' explanation, "a lot of this may start out uncomfortable just because you're not used to it, so don't be too quick to give up on anything." As she speaks, she gives Tona the once over, nodding approvingly, and generally enjoying the show. Then, Tona does her thing with the zip tie, and Sam's jaw drops, then she slaps her forehead, trying not to laugh. "Wh- I- Tha- Okay, first off, careful with that. You don't want to stretch that top out before you pay for it. If you want to bare your midriff like that... You don't want to show too much skin. And tying your shirt can work sometimes, for some shirts, but... it's pretty bold. Not something you do just out the gate. I'll be right back." With that, she vanishes into the racks again, returning soon after. "Try this," she says, offering a new outfit. A relatively tame crop top, black and gray horizontal stripes, and a set of full-length jeans in the same size as the pants, with a guess at the length of Tona's legs. They should be just a bit tight, but that's the idea.
  9. Sam can only scratch her head when Tona stops eating. She'd never seen anyone eat one-and-a-half jelly beans and then stop like that. "There's plenty for everyone," she says, though Tona's already off to the changing room by the time she does. So, there's nothing for it but to shrug and follow along. When Tona steps out, Sam pops another jelly bean and screws up her face in contemplation. "Not bad," she says politely, "But that top would probably go better with shorts. Just a sec." She goes to the shelves on the wall, picking out a simple pair of denim shorts a little bit longer than she'd grab if Cerys weren't here to glare at her. She has to guess at the size, but she and Tona are pretty close. Step up a size for Tona being a bit bigger to begin with, and another size for those thighs and it should be fine. "Try these," she says on her return, offering the shorts.
  10. Silvia enters the museum, to a cheerful greeting on the part of the curator. She'd called ahead, and all the major backers receive this sort of treatment. After admiring her name on the placard with the rest of the museum's 'noblest' of patrons, she exchanges platitudes with the curator and turns in her sword at the desk and heads in. Normally, that exchange would be frowned upon, but when one vanquishes city-destroying horrors on a regular basis, and then tosses a couple million dollars in the museum's direction every now and again? Well, they're willing to make a few exceptions. And today, she hands over her mail, as well, having come in rather more modern garb, to avoid catching too much attention. She wears a simple white blouse, almost a man's dress shirt really, along with black slacks, and hangs a jacket over her left shoulder to hide her missing arm. So attired, she makes her way through the museum on her own. She doesn't come here often, but much of the museum is as she remembers it. Some new exhibits, of course, plus the current touring exhibition, which is where she ends up spending most of her time. The prehistoric beasts aren't the largest reptiles she's ever seen, but they are impressive in their own right, but in all honesty, she finds the touring children rather more interesting. She always does, having never been a child herself, nor had one on her ship for long.
  11. Sam takes the burn phone, obviously a bit confused. It's pretty fancy for just a burn phone, after all, and she and Cerys could just as easily just swap numbers. It's more than a little suspicious. Like, perhaps, the world's most obvious tracker. But for tonight, it's no big deal. "Thanks, Cerys, I will," she says, not exactly hiding her suspicions as she sticks the phone in her bag and returns the wave. Her detour is just a couple doors down. The candy store. She finds her mixed jelly beans immediately, fills up a nice, big bag, and after swiping some plastic, she's on her way, back to the store barely a minute after Cerys. And right in time to see Tona looking like she's ready for checkout. "Make sure you try those on first. Different companies size things a little different. Gotta make sure you got it right." She shakes her big bag of candy, currently hunting down the raspberry ones, and eats one before presenting the bag to Tona. "Jelly bean? Never go shopping without 'em." She offers a look to Cerys and Mali, letting them know they're welcome to help themselves, too.
  12. Before heading off, the ship picks up Jubatus and Young Britania, and shares information. Particularly, that of her 'guest,' Vincent MacBride. "We were looking for his roommate," Silvia explains, "And found him instead. He wasn't eager to share information, and was quick to try and get rid of us. He did, however, give us either a lead on his partner-" a presumptuous term, but Silvia had already decided he was involved. "-or bait for a trap. Be ready. If you wish to question the man for yourself, Miss Vanessa shall show you to the brig." She gestures to her young aide. The captain, herself, starts issuing orders for the ship to head to Riverside, for this 'The Drunken Mule.' Surely an establishment of both class and charm.
  13. Sam tries not to laugh as she exits the car and hovers off to the side of the conversation for a moment. This wasn't funny. More... sad, really. Best to chip in and help. "Really, you don't have to worry about all those details. Maybe stick to darker colors, but even that's no big deal. Just find a few things that look good, and try 'em out. We'll help you out. And keep an open mind; those clothes," she nods to the outfit Tona'd commented on, "are still pretty easy to move around in, once you break 'em in a bit." She begins walking towards the door, her gait as natural as one can ask in those shoes. "I'm sure you'll start catching on once we get i-" she cuts herself off mid-step, then turns around. "Be right back, gotta grab something real quick. Go on in, I'll catch up." Her voice is hurried, and she hustles surprisingly quickly down the sidewalk.
  14. "Very well," the good captain says. "Now, you are going to disarm your friend the same way you did yourself." She waits for the man to do so. "Voltage. Find something to tie these two up with. No need to harm them." Meanwhile, she sets to work removing the ammunition from the weapons, no shame in needing to use her feet to make up for her slight shortage of hands. Then, she throws the equipment off the balcony; none of it is particularly valuable to her, after all. When all of that is taken care of, it's time to advance. She's not in any particular hurry; better to savor this assault. It's not like this enemy stronghold is going anywhere. "I can take care of the gas," she says to her companion. "Can you disable the electrical traps?"
  15. Good. The man is cooperating. Now, to make sure they don't get any fool ideas, and their gear doesn't make them too brave for their own good. "Alright. I will release you. Then, you are going to set down your weapons and remove your armor. Then, you will tell me everything you know about the security here, and what your employers are using this facility for." Then, after that, she'll send Voltage to find something to bind and gag the two with, and break their guns. But they don't need to know that yet.
  16. Perception again, with souldar. If you don't accept my using Kit's new ranks in Perception, dock six. 1d20+5=17
  17. Kit dives for cover, but too late. She gets blasted and cut, like most of the band. Not one to be intimidated by arrogant spirits calling themselves gods, she gets up. She'd seen far worse creatures begging for mercy. Not begging her, mind, but she knows such creatures are not infallible. It got angry, it made a mistake, and now, it's time to hunt it down and defeat it. Got you. To pull something like this, this so-called god must have come out of hiding. She takes a deep breath, reaching out to find the entity one more time, before it slips away. "Get ready to move," she announces as she searches.
  18. With a, 'whumph,' sound the guard in her grasp strikes the wall. Not enough to take him out, certainly, but enough to make a rather useful noise, audible through the whirling winds. At that, she pulls the man away, the winds holding the man growing quiet enough for her to hold a conversation, rather than the raging storm she'd started with, wind forming tightly controlled bands around her captive. She draws her blade, pointing it at the other guard. "Good day to you, sir," she says, unconcerned by the captive currently rising slowly to the ceiling. "It seems my friend and I are a bit lost. Congratulations; you are now our tour guide. I suggest you begin with where we are, and what this facility is."

  21. Oh, well, Kit has a fantastic Reflex save, so... 1d20+10=11 F--- Anyways, can I at least get that Will save so I know if I made the guy sad or not?
  22. Sam gives a meaningless handwavy gesture while she calms down, eventually regaining the ability to speak. "Fine, fine. Works for me." She starts tapping her foot, already feeling restless; she was always less inclined to take a car than to simply appear in whatever shadow's nearest wherever she's going. And after all that sitting still of a day in class? Ah, well. She's in this for the company, not just to get where she's going. But that's not important. Music! "As long as there's some energy to it, I'm fine." Sam has never really been one to pay much attention to genre or artist or things like that. She just listens to the stuff, and she's pretty easy-going when it comes to music.
  23. Kit doesn't have the firepower and isn't very good against things without brains, but Silvia? Swashbuckling giant dinobots can be fun. And if I manage to squeeze in a full broadside against a T-Rex, all the better! She's a patron of the arts, too, so she'd have plenty of reason to be there.
