  1. Pyre grimaced as he locked eyes with the victim, the prickling sensation of magic making his very essence itch. "...Something bad did this. Something really bad..." He tore his eyes away from the corpse, eager to erase the image from his mind, but almost unable to look away. "How long ago was this reported?" he asked. "Who found him? Have the neighbors reported anything?" Whiplash had the other contact, but any lead would help now...
  2. "A quick look wouldn't hurt. I'll try not to mess anything up." Pyre braced himself for the grisly scene as he moved toward the crime scene. Black magic was never pretty, and he was certain this would be no different. He could feel the dread emanating from the room as he approached, the faint scent of blood growing stronger as he approached. Whatever had happened in there, it was bad... really bad.
  3. Pyre relaxed visibly at the Sergeant's reaction. "That's right, officer. Sorry if I startled you just now." 'At least someone doesn't freak out every time I try to start a conversation...' "Mind giving me a quick rundown on what happened here? I think it's connected to this case I've been looking into over the past few weeks. Something about... some sort of black magic, if I'm not mistaken?"

"Kids... Get out of here NOW!" shouted Pyre. In seconds, the massive creature was surrounded with an aura of flame, before taking a single mighty leap toward the beast. His flames trailed behind him like a comet as he fearlessly flung his four flaming fists of festive fury at the ferocious freak in a flurry of alliteration. It was dangerous, and the demonic hero was well aware that he was leaving himself wide open for an outside attack, but he had to force this thing off somehow...
  5. Alright, I'm going to COMET PUNCH the Krampus. Between a Charge and an All Out Attack, I'm at +10 to hit, and +0 Defense, for a DC 30 Toughness Save. 1d20+10=23
  6. Wonderful, a cop. 'Alright... stealth probably isn't a good idea here...' thought Pyre. Not that a normal cop could really do anything to him. It's just... accidental fire fights are really awkward. 'Alright... I just go up, tell him I'm a superhero, and hope be buys it...' Pyre swallowed a lump in his throat, before stepping into the light. "Evening, officer." ...Yeah, this wasn't going to end well.
  7. While swinging from rooftop to rooftop was undeniably cool, (A fact that Pyre could not deny) one simply couldn't match the rush of leaping over several city blocks in a single bound. ...He could do without the impact crater he left in that vacant lot, though. He'd have to work on that. Still, he was here. Probably had a bit of a head start on Whiplash. Wouldn't hurt to check the place out before she got there. With all the stealth of a 10 foot tall devil monster, Pyre carefully approached the apartment, bracing himself for what he might find inside.
  8. Alright, I think I'm about ready to move in on the Victim's location. Should I go ahead and post?
  9. Sounds good to me! Though, I'll let Whiplash have her post first.
  10. (01:09:06) System: Cube rolls 1d20 and gets (12)+4=16. There you go! :D
  11. Pyre breathed a sigh of relief when Whiplash managed to catch his contact. That could have been a disaster. It would probably be best if he just stayed out of sight for a few minutes. At least he managed to get the address... Morrison Avenue, huh? Probably best if he took the scenic route. ...Or, perhaps the bus. Didn't want to risk this guy freaking out again. Sheesh... Try to have a meeting with someone and they nearly jump of a building. What is this world coming to?

Lou smiled as a swarm of children used him as a Jolly Jungle Gym. "I'm glad it's working out, Father." He was really enjoying himself. For once, he was around people that weren't freaking out just because of his appearance. Children were laughing and smiling, not running away and screaming. Lou couldn't help but grin as the kids hugged him. This was why he agreed to do this. Not for publicity, but for this. The smiles, the laughter, the joy...
  13. Pyre's eyes widened as the contact stumbled back, "Wait!" Damn it... of course the guy would freak out, but he didn't think he'd fall off the building. Rushing forward with as much speed as he could muster, Pyre leapt forward to try and grab the man's ankle before he fell to his death. Of course, he wasn't that fast, and there wasn't exactly a lot he could do aside from catching the guy. That's the trouble with power over fire: It's not the most versatile thing in the world.
  14. Pyre can't do much aside from trying to grab him the old fashioned way, so I'll leave this one to Whiplash.

"Thanks, LaMarr." Lou grinned. "I was actually going to do some sketches for the kids. Maybe I can do one for you later?" Moments later, Pyre was swarmed with excited children as they gathered around the supersized Santa Claus. Pyre wasn't used to being in the spotlight, but he was more than happy to help out with the kids. A few quick sketches here, some neat pyrotechnics there, and more four armed hugs than he could possibly count.

It was difficult for Lou to get a costume that fit his... unusual build. He had managed, of course. He looked somewhat silly, with his four arms, and horns peeking out from beneath his hat. Still, it was worth it for the kids. "Hey there, you must be Wail." Lou offered a massive red mitt to the grey bearded Santa Claus that just emerged from the changing area. "It's great to finally meet you. I'm Lou."
  17. It had been a long few weeks. Nights spent searching, asking questions, and terrifying thugs. It was all worth it in the end, though. Pyre finally had a lead as to this whole thug business that had been bothering him since he rescued Whiplash from that fire in November. He landed on the roof top with a dull thud, his massive frame looming over the man he was supposed to contact. "You the one who wanted to talk to me?"
  18. Perhaps. I am curious though. This seems deeper than a simple drug dealer. Maybe it runs deeper?
  19. Pyre smiled as he shook the knight's hand. "It was no trouble, really. You did the right thing, Caradoc." "These are just kids, after all. They don't deserve to get caught up in..." Pyre wrinkled his brow. "...Whatever it is Deep Ones do, exactly. No one deserves to get shoved into something against their will. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, right?" Pyre paused for a moment. "...Someone in a comic said that once, I think. I'm not the best at making poignant remarks."
  20. How should we handle her leaving? Skip to the next day?
  21. 'So that's why she's so keen on getting home... her kid must not know.' "Oh! Those! Those are mine. I mean... I draw them." He reached into his pocket and produced a business card. 'Louis Ross, Artist - Castle Comics' "But, I mean, I'm not the guy in the comics. I just... it's a really long story and I don't really get it myself. This is kind of a new thing for me." He glanced at the clock as well. "...Your stuff is in the lockers downstairs. I can cover for you if you want, though. Stuff like this happens all the time."
  22. Pyre smiled as the children explored their new tank. "You know... when they aren't chasing people around, they're kind of cute." he said, as one of the babies grabbed a feeder fish and started munching on it. "I'd love to come visit them when you get set up. It's sad that Devil Ray attacked them like that, but at least they'll have a chance at a better life now, right?" "...Well, better than living in a submarine and worshiping elder evils, anyway."
  23. Pyre smiled. "I don't get burned. I mean... not anymore, anyway. It was really no trouble." The massive demon seemed a bit embarrassed by Whiplash's gratitude. "Saving people is what we do, right? ...I mean, it's what I do, anyway." He glanced at the clock. "My Wife isn't going to be happy about me staying out this late, but... had to make sure you were okay, you know?" "Speaking of which, I don't think I properly introduced myself. My name's Lou. ...I can't really do the whole secret ID thing."
  24. "I'm right here. You were out a few hours." Pyre had been sitting in a chair by Whiplash's bed for some time now. "Don't worry. They've got you checked in under your secret ID. They've put your stuff in storage, and they said you're probably going to be fine." Pyre smiled, leaning forward in his chair. "...You, uh, need help getting home or something? Sound like you're in kind of a hurry. Is someone waiting for you?"
  25. Pyre nodded. "My wife would kill me if I brought a Deep One home... but... Fleur is right. Maybe the aquarium can help us until we can find a better place for them? Or some other person with a saltwater tank? I mean, we can't just leave them here. They're just kids." He placed a hand on Caradoc's shoulder. "And... this isn't your fault. You had no idea this would happen."
