1. "Dad! Dad! Can we go in there?" The wide eyed little girl pointed excitedly at an enticingly decorated storefront as she tugged at her father's massive red mitt. The four armed behemoth smiled as he led his daughter down the pier. "Maybe in a bit, sweetheart. We're supposed to meet mommy for lunch, remember?" It had been a few months since Lou's transformation, and things were slowly returning to relative normalcy. Sure, he got the occasional horrified stare from a passerby, but the number of people fleeing in terror had dropped significantly since his initial change... Somewhat. One of the perks of trying to frequent the area, he guessed. Regardless, the walk was relatively uneventful, save for a few unnerved tourists. It wasn't long before Lou and his daughter arrived at the little cafe on Pier 19 where Audrey Ross was waiting. She smiled as she saw her husband approach. "Hey, hot stuff." "Aw, I told you to stop callin' me that." Lou chuckled as he kneeled down to give his wife a kiss. His daughter wrinkled her face in disgust at this brief public display of affection. "So, been holding up the fort?" said Audrey, as she pulled away from the kiss. "Yeah, but you know how hard it is to get any work done when Faye has the day off." Lou grinned, a pair of fangs peeking out from his lower lip. "How's the score coming?" "Pretty good, need to get back to the studio to-" Audrey was cut off by a piercing scream. "The Deep Ones are back!" Hordes of fishy fiends scuttled up the sides of the pier, sending tourists fleeing in terror. Lou felt his stomach tie in a knot. "Aw, no..." "...Faye. Come with mommy." Audrey whispered, as she took her daughter's hand. "Aw, but I wanna see dad beat the fish people up!" "I said come with mommy!" The woman shouted as she pulled her daughter away from the approaching horde. "And Lou?" "Yeah?" Lou pulled off his jacket, revealing four pairs of muscular arms as he stared down the pier. "Please don't die." "Wasn't planning on it." As his wife and daughter vanished into the terrified crowds, Pyre let out a mighty roar as his fists were wreathed in auras of flame. "Alright fishies, if you want to take this pier, you're going to have to go through me!"
  2. Pyre WOOO! Backstory Expansion! 0 PP To Spend  Birthplace: Changed from "Ft. Lauderdale, Florida" to "Freedom City". Affiliations: Changed from "None", to "Castle Comics". (Though, that hardly counts. Family: Add "Audrey Ross (née Beckett)(Wife), Faye Ross (Daughter)." Lou is a family man! History: Replace current history block with the following. Louis Ross had always idolized the superheroes of Freedom City. Even during the height of the Moore administration, when vigilantism was outlawed and anti-vigilante propaganda was on the news each day, young Lou Ross never gave up his dreams of superheroics. He was 13 during the Terminus Invasion of 1993, when Heroes returned to Freedom City in full force to defend it from the forces of Omega. It was during Centurion's final sacrifice for the people of Earth that Lou's fascination with superheroes transformed from an infatuation to a full on ideal. The idea that there was a sense of duty inherent in being a superhero. That it was the duty of the strong to protect the weak, no matter the cost. That as long as someone was willing to fight for the light, the darkness would never prevail. Of course, Louis Ross was not so fortunate to have super-powers, so his ideal remained nothing more than an idea for many years. Showing an aptitude for art, Lou attended The Freedom School for the Arts, focusing on painting and drawing. It was there that he met Audrey Beckett, a young musician and fellow student that he would eventually marry. While attending FreeSA, Louis would create the prototypes for what would become his two most popular creations: Dr. Mystery and Lord Pyre. Dr. Mystery was his first creation, a hero modeled after the ideals that Lou took to heart. An incredibly powerful hero who mixed physical might with powerful magic, many of Lou's early works involving Dr. Mystery focused on trying to balance his civilian life with his never ending battles against the forces of Darkness. To serve as a foil for the shining beacon of Heroism that was Dr. Mystery, Lou created the villainous Lord Pyre. Callous, greedy, and uncaring, Lord Pyre wished nothing more than to see the world burn for his own ends. These two characters soon became Louis's signature creations. Upon his graduation from FreeSA, Lou submitted a handmade comic featuring the pair (along with his resume) to Castle Comics. He was hired within the year. Not long afterwards, Louis married his long time sweetheart Audrey. They purchased a home Riverside, not far from their Alma Mater, and got to work raising a family. In 2003, Audrey gave birth to a daughter, named Faye. Aside from several moments of apocalyptic terror, life was good for the Ross family. Audrey soon became a composer, collaborating with Arthur Tan on several scores for film and television. Lou worked on popular comics such as Freedom League Adventures for years, acheving a small amount of fame in the comic book industry. In 2008, Castle Comics finally greenlighted a series based on Louis's early sketches under their new "Castle Unlimited" label, which introduced a variety of fictional series to the Castle brand. Dr. Mystery was Castle Unlimited's break out hit, and the Mighty Mage's clashes with the Baron of Flame were soon available in comic shops all over the country. While not quite as popular as the true to life tales under the main Castle label, Lou's original works were a reasonable success in their own right. In 2011, Louis Ross was signing issues Dr. Mystery when he was approached by a polite gentleman claiming to be a fan. The pair discussed Lou's work, before the topic shifted to some of Lou's personal beliefs. It was at this moment when Louis Ross made a casual remark that would change his life forever. "You know, sometimes I wish I had powers like the people in my comics." The gentleman smirked, and with a snap of his fingers, Lou's body was set aflame. When the fires were extinguished, convention goers were shocked to find not the burnt corpse of Louis Ross, but the entirely intact, living body of the villainous Lord Pyre, looking as if he had just stepped off the pages of a comic book. Fortunately for everyone involved, Louis's mind was unaffected by the transformation, and he was immediately taken into AEGIS custody for testing. The increases in Louis's physical strength and stamina were astonishing, and his control over flame matched those of his comic book counterpart perfectly. However, AEGIS agents were particularly concerned when Louis described the appearance of the man who trigged his transformation... a man who perfectly matched the description of a mysterious entity known as Mr. Infamy. Lou was eventually released back to his family, though not without being placed under heavy observation by AEGIS agents. It took some adjusting, but Lou was still the same man he has always been, and his wife and child love him just the same. Still... despite his new monsterous form, and the strange and suspicious circumstances surrounding his transformation, Lou still has the heart of a hero. Now he has the power to put his ideals to the ultimate test! Riverside has a new guardian, and his name is Pyre! Personality & Motivation: Replace with the following. Lou is somewhat of an idealist. Ever since childhood, the ideal of superheroism has shaped much of his work. He believes that it's his duty to defend Freedom City from those who threaten it, even if his powers and appearance are less than nice. In his civilian life, Lou is a family man. He loves his wife and daughter dearly, and would do anything for them. He even makes a strong effort to take part in his daughter's hobbies and extra-curricular activities, even if other parents aren't that keen on having him around anymore. Despite all this, he's still a pretty relaxed kind of guy. He likes nothing more than to sit back with some friends, and a set of 20 sided dice. (His wife actually DMs. It's glorious.) He's a geek in the body of a brick. Complications: Add the following. 3. Nah. ...Well, maybe defective chaotic ones. I dunno.
  4. Fixed some typos in the sheet. STR Mod should be +15, not +10. Unenhanced STR should be +0. I dunno how to include Growth in there, really. Also, Notice should be +5, not +10. Super Senses was removed, and the point was transferred to Immunity. Immunity: Suffocation (Smoke and Fire) is now Immunity: Suffocation (All). Also, OH GOD SO MANY MISTAKES. X_X

Alternate Identity: Louis Ross Identity: Public Birthplace: Freedom City Occupation: Comic Artist Affiliations: Archimedia Entertainment Family: Audrey Ross (Wife), Faye Ross (Daughter) Description: Age: 32 (DoB: 1980) Apparent Age: Hard to say, being a demon. Somewhere in his mid 20s. Or... 20,000s... Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian, not that you can tell Height: 10'4" Weight: 1500 lb Eyes: Yellow Hair: Black A massive four armed brute of a demon, with massive horns, a wicked pointed tail, enormous muscles, and really nice sideburns. He typically dresses in a black tank top and jeans, though he's working on expanding his wardrobe for his new size. His appearance is intimidating, but... despite clearly being built from the ground up to be a merciless engine of infernal destruction, his coutenance is that of a goofy, gentle, and incredibly geeky man. It's like someone ripped a picture of a demon from a comic book and softened to features into something more gentle. Which is pretty much exactly what happened. Power Descriptions: Pyre's powers center around FIRE, and lots of it. His eyes flare up and his muscles bulge as flame covers his body, threatening to incinerate everything around him. Curiously, this never happens. His flames never seem to burn anything except for exactly what they're intended to. When using more complex powers, he might gesture and chant subconciously, but those who are actually familiar with magic can pretty much instantly point out that his gestures and incantations hold as much magical legitimacy as pointing a wand at something and shouting "Stupefy". His lifting strength is measured in kilotons, and he can leap over five miles straight up. He's really fast too, if running at an all out sprint, though he lacks agility and mental fortitude. He prefers melee combat, though he can be a tad reckless. Should an enemy remain out of reach, or try to overwhelm him with numbers, he'll pepper them with blasts of fire until they give in. Complications: Family Man: Pyre has a Wife and Kid! ARGH!: Pyre is a bit scary. It's not his fault, but people might freak out. Strangely, kids never seem to mind. Is it really a deal with the devil if I didn't mean to make it?: Pyre's an anomaly when it comes to Mr. Infamy. He didn't actually ask for his powers, and he's definitely not evil. So what does Mr. Infamy want out of this? 6. Possible, but... I dunno, I did want to avoid actual demonic pacts on Lou's part.
  7. I was considering making it some sort of artifact that rewrites someone's fundamental physical nature... Once. Normally used in the creation of contracts. I could get rid of it though.
  8. I've got some tweaks to do. Enhanced STR and Super Strength are going to be linked, and they're going to become the base power of the array. Aura will be removed. Growth and Extra Limbs will become Innate. I'll add some feats, maybe immunity to Alteration Effects just to hammer the "stuck in demon form" point home. We'll see.

Trapped in the body of a monster, he seeks to use his new found powers for good. Alternate Identity: Louis Ross Identity: Public Birthplace: Ft. Lauderdale Florida Occupation: Artist (Comics) Affiliations: None, yet Family: Eliza Ross (Mother), Vincent Ross (Father), Samantha Ross(Sister) Description: Age: 31 (DoB:1980) Apparent Age: 25...Ish? It's hard to tell when you're not human. Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian (Not that you can tell) Height: 9'5" (10'3" with the horns) Weight: 600 lb Eyes: Yellow Hair: Black A massive, demonic brute of a man. Bulging muscles, red skin, glowing eyes, long pointed horns, fangs, four massive arms... He's a scary looking guy. At least... if he's trying to be. When he's working on a comic at home, or just hanging out, he's actually quite personable. ...Still pretty freaky, though. Power Descriptions: FIRE! ...Seriously though, most of his powers are manifested as orange and red flame. Often very intense flame. It typically manifests as an aura of flames coating his hands, though it can occasionally spread to his entire body. History: Louis Ross was a popular comic book artist, known for his work on several popular comic series and animated series. An admirer of superheroes from an early age, after moving to Freedom City at the age of 18 he documented exploits both real and fictional on the pages of his comics. But more memorable than his true to life creations were his original works. In particular, a villain by the name of Pyre, a four armed demon with control over flame. A perfect villain for the righteous heroes of Freedom City to face. Lou was always a heroic soul, and since his childhood he dreamed of having some of the same powers that the characters he created. Then he went to that convention. He was doing a signing of his latest comic, featuring his signature villain. It was all normal until that man in the suit showed up. He seemed nice. Charismatic, Intelligent, a huge fan of his work... Lou isn't quite sure how the conversation got there, but it seemed like an innocent statement. "You know, I wish I had superpowers like the characters I draw." At those words, the mysterious Mr. Infamy cracked a smile. "Done." In an instant, the man was gone, and Lou was wracked with pain as his body was twisted and burnt. Muscles bulging, gouts of flame shooting from his nostils. The convention floor erupted in panic, the Freedom League was called, and Lou spent several days in an AEGIS facility before being deemed sane. Despite this, well... Things got kind of traumatic. Being turned into a supervillain is never a good experience. More disconcerting was the fact he couldn't change back. Various anti-magic spells and devices could disable his powers, but nothing could remove his monstrous appearance. Still, beneath that monstrous physique beats the heart of a hero. Despite his fictional counterpart's villainous reputation (and fact that no other Codenames he tries seem to stick), Lou fights to defend Freedom City from anyone who would wish to harm it! He just hopes that the machinations of Mr. Infamy don't force him to harm it first... Personality & Motivation: Lou is a fairly laid back kind of guy. He takes things in stride, and loves nothing more than to kick back with a cold drink, some friends, and maybe some 20 sided dice. Despite this, he's always had that heroic drive, even as a kid. For the most part, this compelled him to tell stories of good overcoming evil. When he actually got superpowers, using them for good was the logical choice. Despite this, he has a few insecurities with his new form. When you look like a demon, you better try your damnedest to prove you aren't. Especially when you got your powers from what may have been an accidental demonic pact maybe. He really resents being mistaken for the real thing. Powers & Tactics: Lou is strong. Really strong. Really really really strong. He can exert tremendous amounts of force. Plus he can knock baddies around the room. He's not very mobile compared, at the moment, but he makes up for it with his raw strength and literal firepower. If he gets you in his grip, it's not likely you're getting out, especially with those extra arms holding you in place. Lou may seem like a fairly basic brick, but when it comes to foes who like to stay out of range, he has a nasty surprise: A preternaturally accurate bolt of fire. Lou also has incredible control over flame, allowing him to manipulate it to the point where he can ignite objects without burning them. He's also completely immune to fire damage, and has a small suite of abilities designed to help him exist comfortably in an inferno. He can also be really scary when he wants to be. Tense a few muscles, make a scary face, spit jets of fire... people tend to freak out from that. Because he's magical in nature due to whatever arcane force triggered his transformation, magical powers are slightly more difficult for him to resist. He's not particularly agile, and woe be to him should he ever fight a psychic. Or an Illusionist. In exchange for this, he lacks the traditional weakpoints of demons. Silver and holy energy don't do anything. He can't be banished or bound, and he can set foot on holy ground without a problem Complications: HELLFIRE: This one is obvious. He looks and sounds like a demon. He doesn't show up to Detect powers or other things designed to track demons, but most people aren't smart enough to tell the difference. You drew my face wrong, you jerk!: Lou's dayjob is that of a Comic book artist. In a world where real world heroes and villains are often depicted on the pages of comics all the time, not all of them are quite content with his portrayal of them. Moichandising!: ...Part of the issue with literally becoming one of your characters is that anyone remotely familiar with your work is going to recognize you. Or... your character, rather. This is problematic, as said character isn't exactly nice, and in a world where the most popular comics are true to life, some people might get confused... Better start working on that redemption arc, bucko. How's the weather up there?: Lou is built like a brick wall. While having a massive demon lord towering over the heroes looks great on a comic page, it poses some problems in real life. Some are minor day to day annoyances, like having to get new clothing or having trouble with elevators. Sometimes though, you're in a situation where being big isn't really a boon. Like... say... when the ceiling is any lower than 10 feet high. Best Comic-Con Guest EVER!: Lou can thankfully do most of his work from home, and his hours are flexible enough to fit in hero work between deadlines. Not to mention, the guy loves meeting his fans. The downside of course, is that being turned into a demonic monster kind of complicates things a bit, but not in the way you'd expect. If anything, requests for public appearances have gone up. Not to mention, things always seem to get weird during these sorts of things... On Probation: Despite his otherwise spotless criminal record, various heroic groups aware of Pyre's origins are keeping a close eye on him. Despite the relatively friendly relationship he has with his Probation Officer, Lou can't help but shrug the fact that AEGIS, The Freedom League, and many other heroic organizations view him with suspicion. ...Is it really a Deal with the Devil if I didn't ask for it?: Mr. Infamy seems to hand out superpowers like candy. It's impossible to know why he chose Lou, or what plans he might have for him. But the looming specter of that mysterious suited man dogs Lou's footsteps, even without being physically present. Fortunately, few people know of Lou's origin. But who knows what Mr. Infamy has planned... Secret Identities

Hey! I'm Austin, and I'm from Florida. I'm a 21 year old student, and I've been playing pen and paper games for about two years now. One of my big hobbies, and M&M 2E is one of my favorite systems. Though, admittedly, my DM House Rules it so much that there are some things that are probably going to throw me off here. Can't wait to get to know all of you!
