  1. As Dyne follows the girl, he can't help but wonder if those stereotypes about blondes being dumb as posts had some grain of truth to them after all, because he couldn't believe that worked so smoothly. In his place, he'd be asking a LOT more questions than this chick had! When they reach the cave and Dyne hears her plan, He calls out on the link I'll stall her until you guys are ready. Let me know when you can spring into action. At the same time: "Yes, my girl, that sounds like a rather clever plan. You'll have both money and a pack of ferocious raptors at your command!
  2. (22:35:20) rpgronin: Evenin', Arichamus. (22:35:29) tryrar: ...he left (22:35:36) AvengerAssembled: Did he? (22:35:39) AvengerAssembled: Did he!? (22:35:41) rpgronin: Hrm. So he did. (22:35:41) AvengerAssembled: Wait, he did. (22:35:52) rpgronin: I'm getting old! And senile! (22:36:08) rpgronin: They say the first thing to go is your mind. After that, it's... I don't remember...
  3. Don't worry, Momentum, I have full and complete control over my powers. I know how to make a show without actually hurting you two more than a minor bruise at the absolute worst. Well, here we go, keep your fingers crossed and good luck. Looking up, it amazed Dyne just how quickly the plan came together, since the lady hadn't swam more than a couple feet at the most! Huh, I think I might just have to learn how to do this properly, since it seems so convenient. Oh well, another thought for another day. He suddenly moves forward after the spandex-clad woman. "Hey wait up!"
  4. Dyne silently chuckles at that. He remembered similar videos. "Not as far as I can tell. I'm pretty sure this much was a fluke, since i never tried ANYTHING like this before, but as they say, necessity is the mother of all invention and whatnot. In any case, it's tiring enough just keeping a simple mental link to you two, I'm not sure what trying to actively scan her mind might do, but I'm not about to find out." Dyne thinks for a moment. "Ah! I got it. I suddenly follow her and yell for her to wait, then tell her her offer sounds tempting. You all act shocked and surprised, and try to stop me from joining her. We'll go from there."
  5. Fair enough, then Dyne will Delay until he knows if everyone's onboard with the plan
  6. Dyne chuckled at that quote, one very appropriate for the moment. He answers Momentum first. "As Knight said, we can't be sure some already hatched, and in any case, we don't know if she has any associates who may have smuggled any eggs out of the city. My mass detection doesn't have NEAR the range to cover the whole world! Anyways, that's a good idea Knight. I even have a story ready about how gravity can disintegrate in case she asks me about my powers, as well as a few other things to cover casual conversation. I'll keep the links open to you two, but be warned: as long as I have it locked on to you two only, I can only sense you two. So, how shall we get this show on the road?"
  7. "No, I'm not just going to let her get away, and Hell no, I'm not turning just because of a cute butt. I've managed to lock on to your mass signatures and open a line of communication using...well, it's pretty complicated. Anyways, it occurred to me that this might not be her first trip gathering these eggs, and in any case, she could have hidden more somewhere else(come to think of it, she implied that very thing). We need to find out if she has any other eggs somewhere, and we need to find out her plans. To that end, Why don't I make it seem as if I've betrayed you, and take her up on her offer? Then, you guys follow us, and if I get in trouble, you back me up. If we do this right, I don't think she'll suspect a thing."
  8. We have to stop her! She's getting away! Dyne almost made a move to smack her with his powerful gravity bursts, but a more logical part of his mind stall him mid-motion. Wait...what if she already hid some of those eggs? We have to find that out, and we should probably figure out what she ultimately intends to do with a clutch of monstrous raptors. But how? Thinking for a sec, Dyne gets a sudden burst of inspiration. I got it! I'll simply take up on her offer, and along the way try to find out what she's up to. I can always smack her down later. But, how to tell the others without her catching on? Thinking on THAT for a moment, he gets another idea. I think I have it, but will it work? I haven't really done anything like this before! eh, only one way to find out... Concentrating on the mysterious ability that allowed him to track the mass signatures of everything around him, he commanded it to narrow in and lock on to the specific masses of his two fellow heros...and it worked! He'd managed to establish a link between him, Wesley, and Momentum! Now to see if they could hear and understand him... "Knight? Momentum? Can you hear me?"
  9. Extra effort to stunt two comm links off my mass sense, burning HP to gain beginner's luck, then burning another HP to gain bluff for the duration (which I'm pretty sure I desperately need )
  10. Dyne acknowledges the sudden denial and change of subject, adding a "Fair enough" to Momentum, and drops the matter, thinking Momentum got the point, and not wanting to embarrass the young hero any further. He turns his attention back to the topic of the gangs and violence in Southside.
  11. diplomacy roll to convince her to give up: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2707378/
  12. Dyne smoothly glided in the water, his flight field bending the river around him as easily as it bent and accelerated the air. He sensed them getting closer and closer to the eggs until... If it wasn't so serious a situation, Dyne might of actually laughed at such a cliche and cheesy line. Instead, he replies Really now? I count three of us and only one of you, so we shall see just how 'late' we really are."
  13. "Let's see... I cannot think of any way to bring this up without sounding like a complete and utter ass, so I guess I'll just get to the point." He lowers his voice so only Momentum can hear him. "Well, simply put, I wanted to talk to you about the need for putting on a costume BEFORE diving into the fray, though I do think trying to pull Wesley out of danger was pretty brave, since a hero's first job is saving lives." He smiles sardonically. "It's just, well, you never know what an observant person might notice if you aren't careful."
  14. Dyne smiles at Wander(not that you could tell he was smiling). I couldn't have put it better myself, young lady." He turns back to Momentum. "Hey Momentum, can I talk to you for a second? It's about something that came up from the incident in the park the other day." He tries to make himself as non-threatening as possible, since he knows Momentum might not like what he's about to say...

(20:01:13) ShaenTheBrain hits JackgarPrime with a rolled-up newspaper. (20:01:19) ShaenTheBrain: No! No! (20:01:28) Fox: Ooh! Ooh! Jackgar: We can make an array of arrays full of devices that contain devices! 16. "No need, I can easily function in the water as in the air. I seem to be lacking in a need to breathe. The name's Dyne by the way." As Dyne turns to Momentum, he mutters "Another quirk of my powers that I need to investigate at some point..." Seeing Momentum's confusion, he clarifies: "There seems to be more eggs at the bottom of the river, as well as...well, something else. I can't give an exact description since I'm only picking up the mass signatures. I recognize the signature from the eggs, but this other signal is unfamiliar. It would be a good idea to check it out." I'll tell him what ELSE I saw later...
  17. "Huh, that sounds like an intelligent plan, actually. I can help with the 'bringing the house down' part with my control over gravity, but I'm not sure the whole building has been damaged enough..." Dyne turns to the others. "If you can weaken the supports somehow, maybe we can finally put this pyromaniac out to pasture!"
  18. heh, I could probably help with the "collapsing the building thing", since my gravity control has an area of 1000 feet... Edit: ok, so in case we go with that, I'm gonna yelll for Cannonade to find and weaken some supports, Momentum toescort cannonade out of there, then the gravity is gonna get a little HEAVY, which breaks down like this: Free action: Instruct troops Standard action: Ready until the others get clear, then activate Gravity Control on the building, putting heavy load on it If we're doing something different, Dyne will just blast him with his gravity blast
  19. As the combined assault on him strikes off his barrier, it makes his head feel like a bell for a second, and leaves him with ringing ears. All right, you anachronistic allosaurs', I think it is high time someone sent you on a one way trip through time! Gathering the awesome power of gravity in front of him, He launches a positively giant sphere of gravity. As it streaks into the air above the fray, it erupts into multi-streamed assault of pure gravitons, hammering every dino right straight into the ground! As the dust clears, there's nothing left but about a dozen large craters filled with the mangled remains of the raptors. "HA! That will teach you to stay in your own paleontological period, you vagrant velociraptors! Your mother was a prehistoric fern! He quickly looks around at his erstwhile comrades(making a note to talk to Momentum about costuming up BEFORE entering the fray-never know who might spot him diving into AND out of a bush). "I think that should do it, but we should look around to make sure there are not more of these anachronistic relics." He concentrates briefly on his mysterious ability to pick up masses of people and objects-and immediately opens his eyes. "Heads up, but it seems there are more eggs under the water...and...someone? No, at least something else, but beyond that, I can't get a better mass reading than that."
  20. tough save: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2707050/ (accidentally mislabed, but math is correct) hrm, that should be a bruise at the most Evasion 2: Half effect on failed reflex: Reflex: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2707052/ Fort: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2707077/ So, I'm half-whatever on whatever that was. Dyne's now officially pissed. Power-Attacking GE for full 5: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2707081/ Edit: informed that even targeted area attacks can't crit, so i'll save the hero point
  21. Notice check for noticing the kid went into a bush, and Momentum Came out! http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2706968/
  22. As Dyne floated beside Gabriel he made a note to get a PDA specifically for this: taking notes of crime areas he needed to be aware about. For now, though, he made mental notes of what the man was saying, and would write them down later. As they continued down the block, he noticed Momentum being rather quiet. He slowed his pace to bring him even with the speedster. "So, has your week gotten any better? I know it has been a pretty interesting one, what with an inferno man and a clutch of prehistoric raptors."
  23. Just as he arrives to the fight, Dyne realizes he now has not, one, but two people to rescue! Well now, this won't do at all! While his control over the awesome power of gravity was great, he didn't quite have the finesse needed to move more than one object or person as he wished-unless it was to simply send them straight up(and rather FAR up, at that!). So, he decided to work at it from the other end: the dinos had to go! to that end, he sends a largish sphere of gravity crashing to the raptors' feet-which erupts in to a serpentine, almost slinky like arc of gravitic distortion that assaults the dinos!
  24. Ok, my turn?: So: Standard action: attack with Graviton Eruption. That's a targeted area shapeable blast, DC 27 if it hits, but I'm pretty sure that's a complete whiff, so: Free action: Burn hero point for a reroll: attack reroll Ok, so that's a 10 to my roll,(if I got the rules correct), meaning a total of 19. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I have enough progression on the area to hit every dino, but if not, pick the largest cluster
  25. After a quick call to the cops, sirens could be heard a couple minutes later, and a patrol car not long after. It didn't take long for the officers to spot the moaning man of the ground. "Well, I think that is that. I sure hope he enjoys 5 to 9." He turns to the group. "Sure, I wouldn't mind a tour. It is always good to get to know an area you don't visit often, since you would never know when you might need to come back here..."
