  1. Sounds good to me. Fluff that up and you have a good guess who the 'real' Print is. Dressed in a gym tank top and jeans.
  2. GM Giant Sam turned around at the last minute, busy smashing two police cars together playfully, but he was too slow. Voltage's burst of power coursed through him. The electrical device strapped to the back of his neck exploded, and he was shrunk in a moment. "Wha...wha...who?" he mumbled, his eyes glassy, before another bolt of electricity struck him, knocking him out cold. Two police cars immediately pulled up beside the prostrate figure, and the officers of the law jumped out. "Thanks Voltage!" saluted one "we got him now! good work!" The other officer proceeded to handcuff Sam. "This scumbag is going away for a long time..." he said, roughly but with a triumphant smile on his lips.
  3. Initiative Roll for when it kicks off please! You may wish to use Behavioural Sciences Knowledge and Sense Motive to see if you can guess who the real Harry Print is...
  4. GM There was a trail of Print's leading directly to Mrs and Mrs Bell, an elderly couple with no criminal record as far as Protectron could see. The home was small, but quaint in its own way, located on the outskirts of the Fens, half-dragged out of the "bad neighbourhoods" but with one foot still in it. Circling the house, Protectron could see ten Print's. Five were dressed as police officers, and five more in assorted "street" or "urban" wear. These lot seemed big, strong, and powerful - as if Print had selected his more dangerous cronies to push ahead. Not that the others en route had not caused havoc prior to Protectron's work. But this was the vanguard. "Hold off, Robot!" sneered one. "The woman was unfaithful...." said another. "Didn't want to be with Print...", yet another. "...so she cane become one! hahaha!" "And junior too! hehehehe! he is Print's!!" And with that, one Print kicked down the front door...
  5. GM The mugger collapsed to the ground, out cold. The man in the suit ran towards Revenant, shocked. "Th...thanks...I...got mugged...I...gotta go!" he spluttered, giving a quick glance at the wheelchair bound man before dashing off. "Eugenics?" said the soft whispered voice of the frail man. "What interest would I have in that? I am immortal, like you. There is no reason to perfect, generation after generation. There is only refinement of the self...of the condition..." "And as for Chaos theory, you mistake me if you think my interests do not include all aspects of modern science. I am well familiar with the theory. Nothing, no nothing, can be controlled absolutely. But to sit back and exert no control is to fall foul to the whims of chance and fate. And the blind gods of such forces are not to be implored...." He waved his hand, slowly, and almost irritated. "No no, the weak have no interest to me, they are only food. Why control them? No, I want to free myself of all needs. I will not be controlled. Not by them, not by you, not by my condition. You see already how the sun has little power over me. Thanks to you and your sisters...."
  6. Post away, although the first nullify effect will shrink Sam to normal size (effectively rendering him a normal human) - your call if you want to shock him too! (If so you can narrate it as you feel fit, he is no challenge for you normal size).
  7. Re: Disguise, I am presuming Synth took 20 on the power and has a total of 30DC for her disguise. Stealth (tailing Starlight) 1d20+10=15
  8. 1d20+12=17 for SGB's opposed roll vs nullify!
  9. Synth saw the advert over a cup of coffee just prior to work. She had taken up some pretty rubbish job handing out leaflets. Still, it kept her moving, in with a few dollars, and she got to meet people. Sort of. She sighed, putting down the paper and finishing off her coffee. It took a lot of caffeine to effect her, but she kind of liked the taste. Damn, no money. Can barely afford the coffee, let alone the rent... She sighed. She didn't really enjoy sleeping rough. Later... Her features were changed, as was her race. She looked like a rather attractive woman, with dark skin and dark (but short) hair. She was still wearing somewhat scruffy jeans and a white t-shirt. But she didn't look like how Nikki had seen her. She couldn't quite shake off her deep mistrust of the whole situation. She saw Starlight march up and make her bold pronouncement, repressing an urge to tell the heroine her own identity. She trusted Starlight, but not the situation. Best follow at a distance...
  10. Huge apologies for missing that! The Machine is damaged, he can repair it as per rules (including Jury Rigging) DC 25. To reverse engineer the machine - I would imagine thats a knowledge (tech) roll, but with his mental quickness he can take 20 and do it no significant time (whatever you deem appropriate). The Stunt as a nullify sounds excellent. Given your descriptors, it would probably be something like modulating his own electricty blast to counteract the effect, i.e. a Ranged Nullify Power. If you are doing that, it is so utterly cool that the Stunt for modulating his electricity is free! (no HP cost!).
  11. GM "We got some blood samples...damn difficult. One of the Doc's got infected too, had to be sedated. Seems like at least the infected aren't infected. Its only one guy doing this...but its mayhem..." "Blood samples indicate that nothing changes there, only provisional analysis so far though. Blood groups all remain the same. Seems only like the mind and the face change..." "Here, giving you our data for 'incidents'..." he added, as a stream of encrypted files flew across the airwaves to Protectron. The Golden Robot had been half-right. There was a 'flow' of incidents, all heading one direction. With a bit of cross reference, one possibility shone above all others. The registered home of Kelly Print's parents...
  12. GM "You are going to have to hurry then!" smirked Jackson, as he took another picture of the 'happy couple' with angry faces. "They are about to be deported back to Mexico. After all, they are illegal immigrants. Papers been done and dusted already, our boys been surprisingly quick and efficient for once. Send 'em back to where they belong, and all that!" he said with a humorous tone. "Hey maybe it is love!" he laughed without jollity. "I won't even have to make it up when I write this! It writes itself!" he added, taking a step back and picturing the two together with another click of his camera.
  13. GM "Spirits?" came the answer "I know of many, and none frighten me. If it punishes wrong doers, then it is as foolish as it is inconsequential. There is no right, there is no wrong, only men and their judgements. Travel far enough, then one becomes the other. Such whims are beyond me..." "As for purity, I am pure. I am me. Unlike the corrupted form of you and your sisters, with one foot in one world, and another in this. But who is to say what is pure, and what is not? There is only refinement, the law of nature...in this world and the next..." He held up his hand to stop, and paused for an uncomfortable time. He stretched out his finger to a shadowy ally, where a rich city man was being kicked by a mugger. "There...who is right, who is wrong? the rich? the hungry? the violent? tell me that! and what are you going to be doing about it?"
  14. Gremlin "But this is a good game, is it not? Fear not, my master...I have no intention of letting you die... Just destroying everything you ever built or loved!" Nightmare at 200,000 feet! Character Name: Gremlin Power Level: 8 (248PP) Trade-Offs: +4 Attack, -4 Damage. +4 Defence, -4 Toughness In Brief: Machine-destroying creation of Doktor Archeville, unconsciously created to stop him! Description: Age: ? Gender: None Height: Just under two foot. Weight: 25 Kgs Eyes: Grey Hair: None The thing was no more than two feet high, looking like a warped imp, or gnome...or...Gremlin... Gremlin looks like a grey-brown creature from myth, a nasty little imp or faerie folk. Of course, this is not his nature at all, but just how he looks. He can flatten himself somewhat, and his form is rather malleable, but he always retains very similar features. Power Descriptions: Gremlins powers come from a highly powerful EMP blast he projects, technically from his eyes, but without obvious signs. His other powers come from his physical form and are self explanatory. History: The details of Gremlin’s past are unknown. He has revealed that he was created by Doktor Archeville, presumably at the height of the super-scientists madness and split personalities, as a “fail-safeâ€, designed to stop the hero doing something terrible like create a doomsday weapon. Personality & Motivation: Gremlin has taken his job a little too seriously, perhaps because of the unconscious fear and hate Dok harboured for himself during the worst periods of his madness. Hence, Gremlin actively tries to destroy almost anything of Archeville’s, and revels in the humiliation it causes. However, even the fail-safe has a fail-safe. Gremlin is programmed never to directly kill (he can injure, and imperil due to his actions, but not actively kill), and…worse still…he cannot ever attack Doktor Archeville (in fact, he is programmed to save him if required). In addition, as he was a creation of Doktor sowing the seeds of his own demise, Gremlin is cursed with the same flaw. He will always do something unconsciously to scuttle his plans. Powers & Tactics: Although Gremlin can fight (at PL 8) that is not his style. He is a hit and run character, who slowly picks off all forms of technology, choosing his moment at all times. Complications: See notes above: He cannot directly kill other humans, and cannot even attack Doktor Archeville (he will save him!). Also, he will sabotage his own plans. It is designed to be something of a nemesis but more of an irritation / complication than a combat monster (after all it is programmed to protect Dok!). It succeeded in causing havoc in that thread! Appearances Nightmare at 200,000 feet!
  15. And finished! thanks for playing! feedback always welcome!
  16. GM And so, slowly, the plane washed against the waves, landing on the shores of Cuba with a gentle bump, and to the tune of a group of onlookers amazement. Jack Jackson, despite being bruised and battered, instantly took over, snapping shots left and right. "Wow, an exclusive!" he yelped "I'm going to hit the big-time!" he smiled, before catching sight of Glow. "No thanks to the disaster from down-under!" he mumbled, theatrically massaging his shoulder "damn near killed me...yes sir, let me tell you all about it in a world exclusive by Jack Jackson!" he interrupted himself, catching sight of a local TV camera. And so the process of business and media took over, a mammoth and complex operation, but one well within the capabilities of Hanson, who actually saw the whole thing as a bit of a success. Meanwhile The grey sludge wafted lonely on the ocean, no more than a puddle, but cohesive none the less. It was hard to say exactly what it was, not water, not oil...but...something else. Presently, a fishing trawler passed, neither near nor far, from the smudge on the sea. "Cap'n...Cap'n...!" yelled the first mate as smoke rose from the rear of the vessel. "I don't know what happened! ship was services only last week! damn motor just cut out...was running as smooth as you like, then...pah! just went!..." As the ship came to a stop, the grey ooze started wafting, slowly but surely, towards the vessel... ~ Fin ~
  17. Synth crossed her hands and stared at the...thing. Magic and Monsters, this is out of my league... "I don't understand half of what you just said, and I like it even less" she said, a note of Iron in her voice "but if there is something vile in Freedom City, then I will root it out...there is enough spite in the hearts of men without it being tainted further..." "As for a phone, I'm not sure I trust you. And if certain people found out my identity, where I am...then there will be big trouble...however, if you need me, then you can always post an ad in the Freedom Ledger with some code in. I read that every day, and I'm sure you have the money..."
  18. Notes The above minions are not designed for following Lord Steam on every adventure, but all might be called on! For example Kamil might be driving Lord Steam around, Blakely would follow him to major social events, and Boris would help out for outdoor investigations. In keeping with rules, and progression feat for minions, they all have broadly similar abilities (general emphasis on working in a team, educated, diplomatic, etc). They are also all "equipped" with a version of Lord Steam's steam-powered Revolver (Blast 4, Mighty, Subtle). Again, this doesn't mean they would walk around with that in general, but they could certainly equip themselves thus if need be. I have standardised many aspects of them, combat wise: +6 Attack, +6 Defence, +4 Fort, +4, Reflex, +6 Will. Steam Powered Revolved does DC 19 Toughness check. Toughness I wasn't able to standardise (normally +0, Boris is +4 due to great Russian constitution!). Equally, Initiative was not possible to standardise. However, it highly unlikely that they will all be together for a fight - perhaps one or two might be.
  19. Lord Lucien Lockwood, diplomat from Earth Victoriana, has a large retinue of staff at Steam Manor, hired locally. However, he has also recruited five talented individuals from his home dimension to serve as his personal aides. Archibald Bellowforth, the vertically challenged accountant/lawyer! Boris Boltski, Russian Groundsman! Charles Blakely, Butler! 20. GM "War's never go well, not for nobody!" replied Seamus, somewhat sharply. For all his abject drunken poverty, the man had some wit to him. "But if yer asking which side is coming up tops in the killin', lootin' and ravagin' department, I guess our boys from the North got the upper hand there. For now. I be guessin that ain't nuthin to be to proud of anyhows. Most folk findin' the blood a little wearisome, no matter how patriotic and fired up they gets. All to fine listin' to some high falutin' general or politician give us fiery talk of liberty and honour. But no 'mount of fiery talk will warm up the folk freezin in the winter cluthin' on to their firearm and waitin' for some cannon to spill his guts...no sirree!" He coughed and paused. "But theres talk of some fine foul business down south, some cult or whatnot. Human sacrfice. Devil worship. Stuff that makes the blood 'o war seem like your Grandmother's home cookin'..." He trailed. "Yes Sir!" answered the polite Stablemaster, dressed up finely with top hat and bow tie. "A 'Gentleman of your description did just leave, in an awful hurry it seemed. Shame you missed him. Headin down south, he was!"
  21. GM Once again, Seamus' jaw dropped, and he shook his head. "Well I'll be damned. Fancy clothes yer got there missy. And if yer could spare some of yer almighty power, Ah could do with some new thread myself!" He lead the heroic duo into the centre of, well, it looked Liked Freedom City, only over two centuries ago. "Last I saw, the fella yer looking for, he headin' down this way, to the stables. Looked like he was in a real good hurry too. Moved fast, faster' than a fella got a right to be, even in these days. Something mighty odd about that one, I said to myself. And then, bam! you two showed up!" The stables were indeed ahead, a busy, respectable business, full of carts and horses.
  22. Heraldo - 1 HP - Unharmed Young Brittania - Unharmed That stunt I think is best as a specialised transform power. No need to get in detail unless you want, its a largely fluffy one. But probably best its continuous duration so you can use your main array.
  23. Supercape approached cautiously, studying the anomaly. Energy levels stabilising...that's reassuring. At least that cuts down the chance of a world-wide...or more...disaster... Best stay alert though... He realised he mumbled those last thoughts out aloud. Cigar smoke? he asked himself, sniffing. That made him suspicious. Somebody had been here, recently. Was this a man-made phenomena? The evidence pointed to just that. He moved closer still, not daring to touch the source...yet...
