  1. GM The spray hit the enraged mook, slap on the shoulder. He coughed, his eyes watering, but he was too enraged to pay much notice. With a turn of pace, he ran and slammed into Starlight, his eyes burning with fury. Whatever else could be said about Finnigan, he chose his boys well - tough, mean and strong - if on the somewhat dull side. Finnigan meanwhile ducked behind his oak table. "Missed!" he yelled, as he cocked his gun, took careful aim and shot Starlight straight and true. "Don't be thinkin ye can take on Finnigan in a gunfight!" he yelled, pleased with his aim. His smile was wiped clean as the table in front of him exploded, splintered and shattered, destroyed by Starlight's mighty blast!
  2. GM The man in question was a tall man, with an unhandsome face and deep black eyes. He surveyed El Heraldo suspiciously as the youth approached. "What you doin' in this here town, youngster. Stranger's ain't welcome. Strangers ain't welcome at all..." he said, with an unblinking gaze and a menacing tone. After hearing El Heraldo speak, his tone shifted from threatening to gruff. "Listen, lad. I saw the man you speak of. And by the way of him, he'll be fitting in right well in Fang. And by that's, I mean do yourself a favour, and get goin' whilst you still can. Folk round here, they stick to their own kind if you know what I mean. We don't appr'ciate Strangers much, they ain't welcome here..." He shuddered slightly, his eyes darting and his brow furrowed. The man was genuinely scared, although he looked no stranger to the weird. "The Stranger you spoke of, well something about him...it was like he fitted here, amongst us folk. But terrible, more terrible even than we be knowin'..." he said ominously, shaking his head as he looked at the two heroes. The man was concealing something, but his lips were sealed.
  3. Ok Ari, throw me some Notice, Sense Motive and Diplomacy Rolls! If you switch to a more intimidating stance, throw me that too.
  4. For reference: Starlight 3 HP - Bruised Awaiting Roo's post for Catalyst, then I will post Finnigan/Mooks actions.
  5. TK, calling on your GM judgement here: Synth has Morph 2 (Humanoids), but as her power is really based on growing human tissue, it may be not possible for her to mimic the flesh of some alien humanoids (something that is so rare its not really worth a drawback), granted she can change colour, but the tissue itself might be alien. So, depending on your judgement about what the aliens look like: 1. Synth can morph, as the aliens are sufficiently human like. 2. She can't, because, whilst humanoids, Synth cant grow their tissue (a complication). 3. They aren't humanoids in the first place, so Synth can't mimic them (just the way it is!). Ill post according to your judgement.
  6. Good post, TK. Feel free to use that "shaken by horrible magics" as a complication for this thread if you wish (like flummuxing diplomacy rolls as you implied!). This is purely going to be optional on your part, however.
  7. Ok I am inclined to say you have won Print over, kinda-sorta. How does that sound or do you want a punch up? :)
  8. I need a post from Airoo regarding her shootin' prior to posting Finnigan and Mooks.
  9. OK, so its a thick oak table, Ill give it toughness 5 1d20+5=6 Yah...its toast. Ok, So Finnigan, I'm giving him a -2 Attack Penalty due to just being rattled by an exploding table, returning Fire to Starlight 1d20+10=30 Ouch...thats a critical on Starlight, so a 23 Toughness roll please. Mook will also charge Starlight on his turn 1d20+8=27... well its not a critical, but its a DC 18 Toughness save.
  10. Feel free to make a Life Sciences Roll to determine time of death (and you may post accordingly) of Horse... DC 10 DC 15 DC 20 + (Trained only)
  11. GM Young Brittania's energy flows through the horse, inspiring it to jerk slightly, and even flutter, but the creature had passed away, and was dead. For a brief moment, Young Brittania got a sense of horror that was palpable but indefinable. Something terrible and sorcerous had driven the poor creature to death, pushing it beyond its natural capabilities, far beyond, but eating and killing it at the same time. It had probably been dead the last few fathoms, but the horrible power that had driven had denied it even the peace of death until its flesh finally collapsed.
  12. I gotta say, this is looking rather like a diplomatic win! (YOu always end so well!) Throw me in a diplomacy roll!
  13. "Do we have any choice?" answered Synth "A ship of that size, armed to the teeth...it's going to blow a whole in the city. Even if Earth has the technology and arms to fight off that ship, and even if it can mobilise in five minutes...it will wreak havok on the city..." She straightened up. She couldn't see any choice in the matter. "We will have to surrender. And see where that takes us..."
  14. GM Tyrone scratched the back of his head in embarassment, looking away. He was sweating heavily, and despite the heat of the midday, it could not account for all of his perspiration. "Illegal Immigrants" he mumbled "look...I don't make up the law. I just enforce it, and try and give folks a reasonable ride whilst they are being investigated...." He shuffled his feet. "Although, I got confess, these folks had it bad. Can't say I approve of deportation. But, you know, it is a bit odd...the way this thing got signed and sealed. Normally we have lawyers arguing for months, appeals, more appeals... you know the drill. Heck, sometimes I think the system is too stuck up its ass and its all too slow. But, in this case, I don't...this was fast. Too fast..." He drummed his fingers against the clipboard when he collected there signatures, clearly uncomfortable about the whole thing.
  15. Pow! Mook: 1d20+6=24 saves! Finnigan is under cover, but you have precise shot so scratch that, nevertheless, with +10 Defence thats a miss! Post away! Starlight is up again!
  16. GM "Avetti? He is behind this mess?" replied one of the officers, with genuine interest. "We have been after him for months...maybe years...always kept his hands clean. Preferred other people to do his work. Well, I guess he got more than he bargained for this time. A lot more..." There was of course paperwork to be filled, both now, and a lot more in the future. But the Police and subsequently the law were prepared to let Sam go on bail, and he was quickly exonerated from any wrong doing once the elctrical control unit that had been strapped to his neck was presented as evidence and carefully examined. So, for now Voltage and his brother were safe, bar a tedious amount of paperwork and legal wranglings that fortunately the super charged brain of Voltage could whizz through in moments! ~Fin~
  17. Your calls! I left that open in the post! You guys can do either!
  18. Synth peered at the craft. "But what is it?" she asked. She was still wrestling with uncertainty about her own feelings towards Nikki. All she knew for sure was that this whole business smelled...bad. A faint twitch of a smile hit her lips. That was an almost human emotion... "This...perception filter...that isn't Earth technology is it?" she asked, although in truth she realised she would not know. There were plenty of super-scientists floating around Freedom City, and the world. "And more importantly, what do we do about it?"
  19. Rabbit, I think the conclusion by the Ref team is that the feat in question is not allowed. Don't let that discourage you from the character (or the site) The above seems a good first draft, enjoy! Ill make one further note. As you can only change an array power once a round, the turn around feat on teleport is somewhat redundant...in a round you could teleport, then change to an attack power, and attack, but you would not be able to change back to teleport to make another jump as per the "turn about" rules.
  20. I'll refer that question on slow fade to status effects to the ref team, Rabbit! Aside from it not being in the core rules, applying 1 rank of this to a status effect (a 1 PP feat), which gives a save every increment on the progression table, is effectively the same as buying the duration of the effect up to sustained (which is two ranks of the duration extra, in this case 20 PP) which does the same thing (a new save every increment on the progression table). This doesn't add up so hold that thought until we clear it up!
  21. If its ok with you, then I would go with Horsey being dead, because, you know, thats what it is . Whilst this is mainly fluff, it sets the tone for a nasty piece of work villain!
  22. I reckon thats a slight bend of the plot to a possible advantage...lets go with that for if you wish to HP it?
  23. mmm fresh tasty water! Just rumbling tums!
  24. GM Their quarry was fast, silent, and was not using the roads. "Yes Sirree, I saw the man yer talking about..." said one traveller, calming down his unsettled horse. "Rode like the devil himself...faster than I ever see a horse go. Something unnatural there..." he mumbled before getting on to his cart and passing on. During the night, Storm clouds gathered, rain, and even a lighting bolt or two flashed through the sky, making tracking the man even more difficult. The next day, the clouds were still thick, and rain wet. But the horse, they found, in a small village many miles south of Feedom City. "The Fang" they called it, a remote outpost on the sea, a fishing village full of craggy rocks and falls. And the black horse, ridden to death (and perhaps beyond), collapsed, lifeless, just outside it.
