  1. Dr. de Haviland arrives at Claremont in this thread.
  2. New students got faculty and students together to greet them when they arrived at the school, but potential faculty was something else entirely. When the taxi from Hanover left Dr. Estelle de Haviland off at the front gates of the Claremont Academy, Dr. de Haviland was greeted at the door by the headmaster of the academy himself. "Hello, Dr. de Haviland. Welcome to Claremont Academy." The old man's grip was firm as he shook Estelle's hand, his hair grey but his back straight and eyes perfectly alert. "Let me offer you a belated welcome back to Freedom City." He was friendly, but it looked like he was making an effort.
  3. Sword accidentally going in his face is just a descriptor for Edge's Area Blast o' accident. So bad things are also happening to all the bad guys within fifty feet of them.
  4. With the robots around him destroyed, Edge grinned. "Bad luck playing against me, boys." He pulled his grapple gun again, firing a shot into the rafters of the stadium that he used to swing up and around, making a neat landing next to Erin as she faced off against the evil mad scientist with the lightsaber. "Well, well, well. Hey Obi-Wan! Stop hitting yourself!" Edge concentrated, his eyes glowing white, and suddenly the sword in Tech Guy's hand snapped around to slice right at his own face!
  5. The inside of the gym was lushly laid out, equipped with the top-of-the-line facilities of a private school with a very large endowment. There were strength-training areas, various treadmills and bike machines, and the usual array of sports equipment around any new high school gymnasium. For his part, Mark headed for the basketball court, smoothly scooping up a discarded ball. "So, you guys wanna spot me?" He tossed the ball behind him, the ball neatly whiffing through the net behind him.
  6. Dee-Dee shook her head, rubbing her temples as Psyche's mental energies brushed against her brain. Narrowing her eyes, she looked around the room before fixing her gaze directly on Alex, her mental acuity sussing out exactly who it was who was busting against the edges of her brain!
  7. Wander: 29 Breakdown: 23 Psyche: 19 Edge: 17 Geckoman: 17 (goes first because of his higher modifier) Candy: 13 Dee-Dee: 11 Phalanx: 10 Wander, you're up.

If we all pool our PP, we can buy the Universe as an HQ!
  9. Hi all, Claremont's first PC super-team is in the process of being born. We need a name. Any thoughts?
  10. Given how active we all are and the nature of the thread, let's make sure we post our actions in the order of initiative this time. That is all. ;)
  11. Let's roll for initiative, shall we? 17
  12. Now that its true form was exposed, the "head" folded back into its carapace along with several smaller, similar digits. The multi-limbed creature standing behind the bank of computers reached down with long, insectile forelimbs to remove the vocoder from a mouth bearded by rows of delicate grey tentacles, making a slick, wet sound as the small metal box was removed, then placed gently on the computer screen before it. The Archeville stared at Dark Star and Viktor with wide, black eyes, spreading its long forelimbs out as if in greeting. All the while, the lower forelimbs, so like the arms of a man, worked frantically still at the computers beneath it, Archeville's genius allowing it to keep working even now. It shifted its weight, its lower limbs thick and heavy like an elephant's legs, and made a low noise in its throat. "WELL? I TOLD YOU NOT TO LOOK!" The worst part in that alien roar was that even from a throat made inhuman, that was clearly the voice of Dr. Viktor Archeville.
  13. Those of you who make the Notice check note that the new arrival, Dee-Dee, has eyes that turn all spiraly and weird for a minute. She seems to be using some kind of weird hypnotic power on Geckoman, even though it doesn't seem to have taken.
  14. Your Toughness appears to be +10. (+2 from Con, +5 from Protection, +3 from Phobia) Or is the Impervious Tou from Phobia to be applied directly to your existing non-Impervious Toughness?
  15. Geez3r's got the right of it. You can buy Luck and _say_ what it's for, just not at a lower cost. (And as quote says, 2 Luck points for 1 PP is a bit too good of a deal.)
  16. Are you sure you want to play a melee fighter with such shockingly low Strength? You are basically a readied Disarm away from having terrible things happen, just terrible. (I don't have a problem with it; all characters should have a good, solid weakness.) Are you sure you want an Iron weakness that severe? (Note that by comparison it's only slightly worse than a vampire's allergy to sunlight.)
  17. She's got Subtle, so you need to pass that DC 20 Notice check to know what she was trying to do with you. And you certainly can roll your Bluff to try and fake it.
  18. "Oh." Suitably intimidated by her angry benefactor, Magpie looked away. For those who'd fought Rachel Trask in the room, a fairly large set, it was decidedly odd to see that look on her face. She wasn't just afraid; she was nigh-on broken. "That is his headquarters," Ray agreed, shooting his sister a worried look as his arms went around her again. "That's...that's where our families are. He keeps them near his master control room, so he can make sure they grow up thinking of him as the head of their family."
