  1. Breschau loosened his shoulders as he saw a young man wrapped in blue energy approach from above the alley.  Breschau slowly moved his hands and positioned his feet into his fighting stance. He did not recognize the newcomer. Is this man part of the group about to cause trouble?  Breschau was about to confront the stranger when Gaian greeted the young man.  Apparently they know each other. Muse must have asked him to assist in this mission.  Breschau relaxed as the newcomer relayed  the plan using shapes made of energy.  It was a good plan. When the briefing was over, Breschau reached out his arm to the young man. "Greetings, I am Breschau. I am glad you could join us." Â
  2. Gaian had the right idea, Breschau thought. Two grown men coming out of a dark alley to question children did seem wrong. "I too am not good with talk, especially now that I am in a foreign land." Breschau hoped that these weren't the ones they were waiting for. They all looked very young. But if there was someone using these children for violence, that person would have to pay. Breschau stared up, looking where he imagined Gabriel, Muse and Powerhouse (Breschau didn't know Powerhouse hasn't showed) to be. Hopefully they would know what their quarry would look like.
  3. "They don't look like trouble to me," Breschau whispered.  Just as he finished his sentence, he remembered the first time he emerged from the ground and found trouble where there was none.   "But I have to admit, I am not a good judge of what is or isn't trouble around here," he added. "We could approach them and ask them what they are planning to do," he suggested, vaguely remembering how the town guards handled such situations during his time. "Would that be appropriate here?"
  4. Breschau joined Gaian and peered through the other hole in the newly created wall. Â So far he hasn't sensed or seen any sign of trouble. Â The simple question made Breschau think. He could not remember what he did before he awoke to this time. His memory was hazy at best. A simple dock worker, a loving father, a brutal warrior, a raging destroyer or a ruthless king. Was he one of these? Was he all of these? His head hurt so he stuck to what he did know. He knew he was physically stronger than most, but having been pinned down previously by a smaller and younger girl he did not think much of his strength. Â He had compassion for those who could not defend themselves and he knew he was willing to fight for them. "I fight for the weak and for justice," was all Breschau could answer, not realizing how corny he sounded.
  5. As Gaian Knight's wall was being formed, Breschau tasted something to him was bitter in the air. He cringed slightly. "Magic," he thought to himself. He wasn't sure why, but magic troubled him. The feeling didn't last long, however, for he shrugged it away. He trusted Gaian, as well as his other companions. Despite Breschau's adversion to magic, he was amazed with what he saw. Debris and sand given life. Within moments the wall was complete and Breschau smiled. "What you have done is astonishing, my friend, nothing to be ashamed about. You are much too humble," Breschau assured Gaian, not getting the joke.
  6. Breschau stood in the dark alley along with Gaian Knight, waiting for any sign of trouble, or a signal from their companions above. He didn't like the idea of hiding behind a wall, but he hated to be underground even more-he had spent enough centuries there. He decided he'd rather be where he could see the stars and breathe fresh air. "A nice wall would suffice, Gaian Knight. And if you are capable, give the wall holes we could see through," Breschau replied eager to see how his companion would use his powers.

  8. maybe he hasn't been checking this OOC but just the IC? I've forgotten to check the OOC myself a few times.
  9. Ditto.. I vote for a skip. Everybody's ready for the encounter
  10. Breschau listens to Gabriel's suggestion and turns to face Gaian Knight. "You could control the earth? Â Create brick walls? Â There are no shortage of beings that amaze me," Â Breschau said realizing that he barely knew what the special abilities of his companions were. Â He was among a large man who must be a veteran of countless battles, and strangely-armored earth controller, a man covered in white capable of disabling other's, and a mysterious petite girl wearing a mask. Most of them, he assumed, could fly. He continued, "I agree with staying in the ground as I am more efficient when there is something beneath my feet. "Yes," Breschau adds, thinking he understood what the large man said. "Let us do everything in our power to keep the innocent, including the misguided children, from harm and deal with those responsible accordingly."Â The thought of someone using children for their dirty work angered Breschau. Â He looked forward to confronting such person.
  11. Breschau nods his head in agreement. Though he is very capable of fighting, he prefers handling things without violence. "Fly? There are those who can fly?" Breschau said in amazement. This certainly is a strange new age. It seems as if everything unthinkable is possible nowadays. "No, Gabriel, I am one who cannot fly. However, if the rooftop is low enough, I believe I can jump down. It is getting back up that would pose a problem."
  12. "Tea party? What a strange way of calling this meeting," Breschau thought to himself. He did not understand many of the euphemisms and idioms people of this era used. Breschau nodded back at Gabriel then at Muse and took his seat. --- He sat, listening intently to the conversation of his companions. He understood that they were to subdue an armed gang intent on harming the innocent. It was a task that suited him well. However, the mention of the possible ages of the gang members caught his attention. "Will we be battling children?" he asked rhetorically. "Armed or not, I do not want to be involved in harming children," he said. The idea of striking children did no sit well with him. "I'll do what I can to prevent them from attacking others, but I shall not hurt them." "Perhaps confronting the one who leads them would be enough to make them surrender." he suggested, hopeful for an alternative.
  13. "My apologies for being late, I had difficulty finding this place.  I am still unfamiliar with this city," Breschau admitted as he entered the room, closing the door behind him.  He was minutes late. He was lucky to be there at all.  Divine, who introduced the modern world to Breschau, had business cards made for him.  He once mentioned his desire to defend the citizens of Freedom City.  In response, she came up with business cards and passed them around among her friends.  It was also Divine who taught him how to get to this meeting.  He was momentarily stunned with fascination with what he perceived to be a magical sculpture of the city made of light.  He tried not to stare at it too long. He observed the strange individuals before him, and their costumes.  His "costume" at the moment was just composed of a tight shirt and a pair of jeans and sneakers Divine had donated to him.  Looking at the group, he was excited to be part of a group involved in helping those in need of defending. "I am Breachau.  It's an honor to meet you all"
  14. I like the idea for story one. It would be a good way for my character to meet others. Breschau, being kind of naive, could be part of the racket if the person who hired him doesn't reveal that they are getting something for protecting their clients-and if Breschau doesn't find out the people he's protecting the clients from were also hired. Once he finds out how they "protect" then he'd do everything to stop it. Looking forward to join the thread
  15. I wish I saw this earlier. Yeah too many for one thread. The "rain check" Idea sounds good. If there's still space for that, I'd like my PL10 to join. It'd be cool if there'd be a GM for the second group.
  16. Daniel was lucky to find an empty table in the crowded restaurant. From where he sat, he could see the band. He decided to order from the wine list instead of getting a meal-he preferred to enjoy a drink while listening to the band. By the skill of the musician, he could tell who Eddie was. It was obvious the kid was talented and Daniel enjoyed his performance. He enjoyed it despite the occasional screaming of Eddie's female fans. Among them, seated in one of the tables in front of the band, Daniel saw the three girls he previously met. How they managed to get a table in front of the band was a mystery to him. Then again, he thought, attractive young girls can pretty much sit anywhere they want. "Maybe I should sit with them," he thought to himself as he relaxed in his chair drinking from his glass. "They did invite me to sit with them." He shifted his weight, preparing to stand up, then he leaned back again. "Nah, It would just be awkward." he told himself. He took a long sip of his wine. "Hmm..I can't seem to hear the band well from here and there are people blocking my view," Daniel told himself, making up excuses to move. "Yup, I need a seat closer to the band...I guess I have no choice but to sit with them." Daniel then stood up and approached their table hoping to come up with something witty to say.
  17. My PL 7 character's back story involves drug pushers. I'm interested in having my character join. He needs to track down drug dealers as part of his story..and bring them to the authorities of course
  18. Breschau, rolling his pant legs up, stepped into the tub making the water turn a brownish black. He found the shower curtain and undressed behind it. From the other side of the curtain, his silhouette could be seen. He deftly took his pants out without it touching the water by balancing on one leg at a time. He then handed his ragged clothes to Divine. "Thanks," he said as he took the towel from Divine while still behind the curtain. He dipped himself into the tub and relaxed. The water was quite dirty now, and he still needed to wash himself. Looking for some oils or soaps to wash himself with, he was daunted by the number of bottles by the tub. He opened each of them. They all smelled good, though quite strong. Should he mix them all into the tub? Should he pour it on his skin? He did not know. "Uh...are you still there, Divine? It seems I still need your help," said Breschau, embarrassed.
  19. "An indoor bathhouse..a bathhouse inside one's own home!" Breschau was amazed with what Divine showed him. He couldn't figure out where the water was coming from, with no nearby aqueducts or water tunnels. Breschau would have believed it to be magic, if Divine had not explain to him about man's modern achievements. He saw her turning the knobs for the water to flow. He was able to understand the mechanics of the tub. "No, it doesn't seem so," he smiled. "Thank you." He reached down and dipped his hand in the water. It felt cool, just the way he liked it. Then he looked quite awkward. Was it a custom for women to stay while the men bathed? He wanted privacy but didn't know how to ask for it without sounding rude to such a gracious host. "I believe I'm capable enough to give myself a bath," he told her, cheerfully. "I can handle things from here." "Since this indoor bathhouse is inside a room, it could be called a bath...room!" he added, laughing at his own joke.
  20. The inside of Divine's house was like the inside of a royal palace. Breschau wondered if everyone lived this way. Everything was neat and there was no sign of dust. When Divine asked him to take off his sandals, he became aware of how filthy he was. He did not want to stain Divine's pristine home. Apparently removing his sandalds did not help much. His feet, like the rest of him, were quite dirty. "I wouldn't want to soil your abode, young Divine. I believe we should visit a bath house first. Or shall we fetch water by the town well?" Breschau asked Divine.
  21. "Thank you, thank you, Miss Divine!" said the driver as Divine handed him a card. "Ha! I don't care if I'm going to be late! Man, my friends are going to be so jealous!" "Can I have your autograph too?" he called out, but it was too late, she had already walked away. ~~~ Breschau was thinking about refusing Divine's offer to 'set him up.' He did not know her and didn't know if he should trust her. Could she be bringing him to a trap? Then again she seemed sincere, and quite charming. He was too tired to try and guess what her motives were. He also needed someone to guide him in this strange land. Fate must have sent her to him. She probably is truly divine. Breschau accepted Divine's offer and followed her. During the walk, Breschau and Divine discussed Freedom City. Based on his questions of what things were, it was obvious that he knew nothing of modern technology. It was safe to assume that he was not from this time. People had been staring at them while they walked. He felt uneasy. That's when he realized that he was thankful for Divine's presence. The walk made Breschau feel much better, despite the fatigue. Thanks to the sun and the air, and Divine's voice and her company. He had learned all he can about this strange new place-for now. After walking for about three miles, they stop in front of a tall structure made of bricks. It was two houses tall. It had windows made of glass, which according to Divine is how windows are really made. It was a type of dwelling Breschau hasn't seen before. "Is this where you live?" Breschau asked Divine.
  22. "Freedom City? New Jersey? I have never heard of this place. This must be beyond the edge of the world," Breschau said, confused. "I believe I just have to be content knowing that I am in a mysterious new land." A world of wondrous things and sites to behold according to Divine. Indeed. Beyond the group of gathered people, and the metal clad beasts were towers and palaces. He did not recognize the architecture, but they were awe inspiring. At the moment, the metal monsters were tame. Some stayed while some moved away. He then noticed that there was a man inside one of them..and that they had wheels. Where these creatures actually mounts? Horseless carts? Divine was willing to answer all his questions, and he had so many. But Breschau wasn't able to ask. The confusion, the sites and the kindness of the stranger in front of him overwhelmed him. He couldn't think straight. He then realized that he has not rested for more than 24 hours. "Is there an inn nearby?" he asked Divine. "I would very much like to get some rest."
  23. Breschau took the hand of the girl and got up on his feet. He dusted himself off when he stood up. "I am Breschau of..of..," he paused trying to remember where he was from. His memory of his life hazy from being imprisoned for so long. "I am Breschau of Livonia," he answered, finally remembering. "I must ask. What place is this where young girls have the strength of titans?" he asked her, gazing upon her bright green eyes. He looked at her as his eyes at last adjusted to the light of the afternoon sun. Though he did not show it, he was struck by her face. She was beautiful. In fact, he thought to himself, he has never seen such a alluring image. Then suddenly, a rush of memories flooded his mind. Memories of a beautiful and ethereal spirit. A spirit that cursed him. A spirit that gave him his power but took his body. Such beauty should not be trusted. It is a weapon that makes men fall to their knees. Looking at her intently, "Who are you, and.. what are you?"
  24. Breschau found himself back on the ground. He was surprised to discover the young girl on top of him. Her green eyes looking down on his. She had been able to bring him down. Not a feat even a great warrior can achieve. "Have I grown weak from being imprisoned? Or is this the city of gods and beasts?" he wondered to himself. Actually, he was wondering many things. Like why she would defend such a beast that attacked him. Or why the people were just standing and doing relatively nothing. Or where he was in the first place. He tried moving his head and attempted to look around. He just realized that there were other metal clad beasts. He was surrounded. "No, I'm not," he replied. "I-I yield."
  25. "Hey, are you with anyone? Why don't you sit with us, mister?" "It's Daniel and sure, I'd love to sit with you. But don't you want to wait until there are less people trying to get in?" "We could, but-" "I hear music playing inside!" "Oh no! Is Eddie already performing!?" "We have to be inside. Now!" Daniel watched as the young girl he was talking to vanished into the stampede of people trying to get inside Le Exotique. The door had just been opened moments ago and the crowd, including The Sparksmith, poured in. Daniel chose to wait until it was easier to get inside. Yes, he could easily teleport inside, but he didn't want to startle anyone. He walked toward the side of the road to give other people space. Then he winced, "Darn! I didn't even get their names!" Daniel was about to feel sorry for himself when he heard the music coming from the inside. "Hey, the band IS good!" With that, he began walking towards the entrance.
