  1. The Courier Another crack at diplomacy (1d20+8=25) And another crack at Gathering Information (1d20+6=20) yay for better rolls
  2. "'Her?' Who are you talking about?" The Courier asked the robed woman. "Are you talking about your muscle-bound leader? I could've sworn it was a man under that hood." "Ah, you must be talking about his wife!" he added, rubbing his chin, "That would make more sense. Or maybe his mother?" "Whoever she is, she's probably forgotten about you by now. If you help us out, we might be able to bring back that youthful glow to your pretty face," he smiled under his mask. "So, miss, will you please tell us what you know?" Daniel has rarely been able to convince a hot girl to give her number, what more a fanatic? "Yeah right she'll help us out...well, it's still worth a shot," he thought to himself.
  3. I see. Well, if his diplomacy couldn't work with the more cooperative one, then the more it wouldn't work on the other. Hehe Hopefully I get better rolls next time
  4. Edited my last post to fix a typo. Lol, I thought the captive still had her mask on
  5. Breschau rolls for Initiative (1d20+27=40)
  6. Breschau was enjoying the cool breeze when he heard and felt the street south of the park crack open. He ran straight to where the commotion originated from and saw the beasts. "Flightless Dragons!" Breschau exclaimed as he saw the giant alligators. He wondered if this was normal in the city, but then he saw the panicked and screaming populace. "I must stop these beasts!" Breschau said, moving straight to the reptiles. "You shall harm no-one!"
  7. If The Courier may: Diplomacy Diplomacy on the hooded perp (1d20+8=10) siiigh, another low roll and a Gather Information if it's possible Gather Information on the perp (1d20+6=24) That's better..hope it's enough with that low diplomacy
  8. Daniel's open palm was left hanging, so instead he raised his hand as if to comb his unseen hair, "Yeah, I guess introductions can be saved 'til later." He watched as the newcomer clad in blue-obviously a super hero-came and left, dropping off the cloaked woman. He watched as the armored super heroine examined the woman's weapon. He watched too, as the tentacle mouthed hero flew away. "Off to look for the rest of the crooks, eh?" Daniel pondered whether or not he should follow. But before he could decide, they were gone. "Yup, I'll just stay here..and uh...hmm..might as well go talk to the perp." He approached their 'captive' slowly,"So, what brings you here, young woman?" Daniel couldn't tell if she were young or not, but he wanted to be nice. "You know you tried to kill me? But it's ok, you were just doing what you were told. How about helping us out and we can call it quits?" The Courier says, tilting his head like a harmless puppy.
  9. "I believe I can help your friend," The Courier told the officer with a pat on the shoulder. Hey kneeled down beside the injured SWAT member and they both teleported to the EMT's standing by outside. Within a moment, The Courier returned to the food court. He went back to the officer with the radio, "If ever you need more of your team to assist us, just inform me and I'll bring them here." Daniel did his best to look as calm and as relaxed as possible, but while he assisted the officers, all he could think about was: I almost died...I almost died...I almost died! Indeed, he almost did. He believed the officer who was shot could've been him. Everyone else seemed to have experience in dealing with such situations, but Daniel was new at this. Still trying to keep his composure, he approached the two costumed heroes. "Thanks for saving my butt back there," he said reaching out to shake their hands, "I'm The Courier." "Now these guys look like super heroes. Look at that helm and armor...Impressive! And that mask...It looks so real. He must be a movie-monster buff," he thought to himself. "Say, nice mask," Daniel said, smiling at the green scaled hero.
  10. The Courier free action: Speak to the cops move action: Teleport the gang into the food court no standard action
  11. "You're welcome! Any time, sir..uh..citizen..uh sir!" Daniel replied to the father. It was cliche, but to see the relief and joy of the family was all the thanks he needed. Suddenly, gunfire was heard. Daniel hoped none of the hostages were shot. They needed to get out of there, and fast! The Courier called out to one of the nearby officers. "I believe there's one of the city's heroes fighting off the armed men inside. He-or she-may need your assistance!" he said as he explained the situation inside. He informed them about the hooded men and the scattered hostages. "I can take a whole lot of you inside..S.W.A.T, police and medics. If any of you are ready, hold on to me," he instructed them, "I can get you inside the food court." The Courier and those who agreed to join him vanished from the outside. They all stood in the food court, where Daniel first met the small family. "What is-who is that?!" Daniel exclaimed, as he saw for the first time the tentacle mouthed hero who gave him the chance to save the hostages. "Whoever he is, I've got to thank him...alright boys, he needs our help!" "Did I just call the police 'boys'?" Daniel asked in his head, giving himself a mental face-palm.
  12. The Courier: Move Action: Teleported some feet away to a small family Free Action: Spoke to them Move Action: Teleported them to safety outside (Turnabout feat)
  13. As Daniel was getting ready to make his move, he heard a commotion back where the hooded men were. It sounded like a battle. Maybe the heroes have arrived, he thought. Now was his chance. He recalled seeing a little boy with his parents. This must be traumatizing for the child. Remembering where they were running to, Daniel teleported in front of them. "Um, hi! Sorry I surprised you, but I am-uh-call me The Courier and I'm going to deliver you out of here and into safety," Daniel told the small family as he reached out for them and held their hands. He had no time to check what the earlier commotion was about so he quickly disappeared from the food court, along with the child and his parents. They instantly reappeared behind the police line outside the mall where he saw the action from his TV. "You'll be alright kid," he assured the boy. "I, on the other hand, might have some explaining to do," he told himself as he saw the alarmed faces of the police and bystanders. He couldn't stay here long, he'd have to go back and get the other hostages. "And what's with 'Call me The Courier and I'm going to deliver you?' I've got to think of better lines!"
  14. It was close to noon but the sun couldn't be seen since it was hidden behind gray clouds that rainy day.  Daniel was standing inside the lobby of a Parkside apartment building among the stranded commuters who have forgotten their umbrellas.  He had just delivered a package to an eccentric elderly man living in one of the suites above.  Outside, Daniel could see people competing for a cab. "Time to eat," Daniel told himself as he looked at his watch. He walked casually towards the restroom and went inside.  Luckily, nobody else was there. After waiting for a few seconds by the door, he opened his fridge and proceeded to prepare his lunch. He was back in his own apartment in Southside.  Daniel has been living in Freedom City for a few months now.  In his time here he was able to set up his own business, have it advertised, get new clients and make good money.  His solo courier service was doing quite well. Unfortunately, he hasn't made much progress on finding answers about his father, which was the main reason he chose to live here.  His plan was to get a name for himself for being fast and efficient. He wanted to be the city's go-to guy when someone needed speedy and discreet deliveries.  That way, he hoped, someone his father knew or worked for might be his client. Sadly, none of his clients were the connections he needed. Such setbacks remind him how terrible he is at planning. Sooner or later, he would have to actively find the answers.
  15. Breschau wasn't too comfortable going around the city by himself as it was still too foreign for him. But when he learned that there were areas here reserved for nature, he couldn't resist to visit. With map in hand, Breschau was able to reach the park at Riverside with minimal difficulty. The vivid trees were a contrast to the surrounding concrete jungle. It was not surprising to find monuments commemorating the city's heroes here. Breschau was at peace.
  16. Initiative Roll (1d20+2=5) for The Courier yikes..another low roll
  17. "What the-!" Daniel quickly lowered his head again behind the stall counter, his heart pounding. He tried to remember what he saw when he looked over the counter. Some men pointing their guns at him, while some others leading out the panicked hostages. He was glad that he was wearing a mask when they saw him. Mostly because he didn't want anyone to know who he was and partly because he knew he must have looked like an idiot. "Alright, note to self:," he thought to himself angrily, "Check reviews before seeing a movie and, if you survive this, know the situation first before risking your life!" Daniel was already involved in this and he had no plans to teleport himself out to safety. He saw how scared the hostages were and how much they needed help. He was no soldier, but he knew he needed to act. Luckily some of the guards' attention were diverted to him instead of the hostages. "Relax, I can do this..." Daniel told himself breathing deeply as he prepares his next move.
  18. Daniel aka The Courier would like to look around the food court, so just in case Notice Check (1d20+8=9) wow, that sucked
  19. "That movie was terrible!" Daniel said, sitting in the dark cinema, "At least the effects were decent." He was talking to himself again. Daniel was one of the few who waited for the credits to end. Not because he was interested on the cast or who wrote the film, but because he wanted to be the last one to leave. When he suspected that nobody could see him, he waited a few more seconds then he vanished. Daniel instantly arrived in his comfy chair in front of his TV in his apartment in Southside. He was still wearing the suit he wore doing his courier work. "I really should check the reviews before seeing a movie," he told himself while he took out the torn ticket stub from his pocket. Deep inside, he wished he had two. Hoping to find something better to watch compared to the horrible movie he just saw, he turned the TV on. "Hostages?! I've got to do something!" He disappeared, only to reappear in his pocket dimension, which he calls "The Stockroom." Daniel kept a ski-mask and a pair of goggles in the Stockroom. He chose to keep his identity a secret like some of the big heroes in Freedom City do. Daniel didn't think he would be as courageous or as awesome as those heroes, but he knew he could help. He knew he could use his powers to protect the hostages, if not stop the group of armed men. "Armed men!" Daniel exclaimed. Quickly, he grabbed the protective undercover vest he found lying around the Stockroom. He wore the vest, which he believed belonged to his father, under his gray suit and put his mask and goggles on. Daniel has only been to Ashton Mall once but he remembered the food court vividly. He planned to use it as an entry point, hoping none of the hostage takers would spot him there. He crouched down, then within a few moments, Daniel was hiding behind one of the food court stalls. He slowly rose his head behind the kiosk to survey the area. "Look at the bright side, Daniel," he thought to himself, "the suspense here would make a better movie than that garbage."
