  1. "Get away, lady!" Screamed the car's driver, his voice trapped inside the vehicle. "Hey, I think that's...yes it's Divine! I'm saved!" he said relieved. ~~~ Breschau was about to pound the beasts head when a girl approached him, standing between him and the beast. "Who is thi-what is a 'car'? She is speaking nonsense! She must be in thrall of the beast! No wonder this foul creature was foolish enough to strike me and keep smiling. Nevertheless, I shall try to communicate with her," he thought to himself. "Stand aside, young maiden," he addressed her, placing his filthy left hand on her shoulder, gently moving her to the side. "I do not wish you harmed as I do battle with this abomination. It shall pay for it's arrogance!" Then he raised his right hand once more, attempting again to strike the beast.
  2. "What was that?" Breschau wondered to himself, his face buried in the asphalt. He pushes himself up to look for what attacked him. His eyes still adjusting to the light, he sees people, most of them shocked and talking loudly while facing his direction. Some of them were looking behind him. Breschau turns around and finds some sort of beast clad in armor. It's glass eyes staring at his soul, it's metal teeth in a wide grin mocking him. There were only a few things that could hurt Breschau. Apparently this creature can...and it did so from his blind side. It angered Breschau to see the creature pleased with its accomplishment. "How dare this creature attack me from behind!" He then slowly raises his arm, aiming to strike the creature's head.
  3. Breschau stands up and takes a full action to aim and hit the car
  4. [divine]"Hey mister! Wa-"[/divine] "EEEEEeeeek!" "It's an invasion!" "Whoa, what just happened?" "Did you see that?!" "Eh? Another monster attack?" "Dude! That was awesome!" "Oh great, not again" ~~~~ "What a day! I was late this morning. Boss wants me to get him lunch. Was stuck in traffic. And when it's 'go' I crash into this thing and bruise my forehead!" cried the twenty-something sharply dressed man on the driver's seat of the car. "Now I'm going to be late for lunch! And my baby, she's dented!" If he had crashed into a pedestrian, a puppy or another car, he would have been worried and felt some guilt. But what he saw was a filthy half-naked sewer creature that just climbed out of a man hole. "Atleast I'm helping the city get rid of another monster," he sighed. "They should thank me." He was about to get out of the car when the creature stood up looking quite annoyed. It was looking at the car as if wondering what it was. Then it raised it's right hand, as if to hit the car. "He's gonna hit her!" said the driver as he watched, mouth agape. "and then he's going to hit me!" "Oh my goooooooooodddd!"

  7. Dim lights and damp walls guided his way as he followed the flow of foul water. The noise of scuttling rats gave him hope. The occasional feint rumbling from above kept him cautious. Breschau was determined escape this labyrinth. --- 17 years ago, he was trapped in a cell within a room deep underground. 17 years ago, the earth shook and the ceiling collapsed breaking the artifact that contained him. 17 years ago, he waited for his strength to return. 17 years ago he anticipated the return of his memories. His strength came back, but his memory barely did. t took him more than a decade to regain his strength while trying to survive with the little air that found it's way through the ceilings cracks. As soon as he felt his power, he began to slowly dig his way out through the tight hole in the ceiling. The barely available draft told him where to go. Months or maybe years (Breschau couldn't tell) of climbing and crawling through dirt rewarded him with the discovery of a dark tunnel. It was dusty and cramped, but he did not complain. He walked on hoping to see the sun again. He thought his prayers answered when he saw light. It was feint, but it was enough. He followed it until he reached iron bars that blocked his path. He easily ripped them apart. Through the bent bars, he found himself in large hall. It was flooded with almost knee-deep fetid water. To his dismay, the light he saw was only from a strange torch. A dim torch made of glass. He assumed it to be magic, though he did not sense it. He trudged on, towards where the water was flowing from. Breschau's spirits were raised when he found a ladder. He climbed it, until the was no ladder left, but only metal ceiling above him. Here he could feel the rumbling getting stronger. Here he could feel fresh air and see real sunlight shine through holes on the ceiling. He was so close to freedom. He pushed the circular piece of metal away and was blinded by the sudden intense sunlight. He climbed out not being able to wait for his eyes to adjust. He was again on solid ground, but no more stench and no more darkness. For the first time in eleven hundred years, he opened his mouth to speak and praise the gods. But before any sound came out of his mouth, he heard a terrible noise. Like a wail he has never heard of before. Then suddenly a crash.
  8. lol, I just needed the girls for gathering information I'll try to include them once everyone's inside too :D
  9. "Looks like they've hired an entertainer," Daniel mused as he saw a young man create bluish-green fireworks from his hands. "Not bad. Good idea for crowd control. Reminds me of the street performers back home." As Daniel watched, the sparks coming from the young man turned into solid objects..almost like glass. Daniel wasn't quite sure how to describe what he saw. Then, the man started to play music. He was amazed. "Say, who is that kid?", Daniel asked a group of three young girls among the crowd who were watching the performer intently. "Kid? That 'kid' happens to be Sparksmith!" answered one of the girls, her eyes still on Sparksmith. "Spark-who?" The girl raised her voice over the music, "Sparksmith! What-are you from out of town?" "Actually, I just moved here," Daniel replied. "Oh," briefly looking at Daniel. "Well he's one of our local heroes-" "I didn't know he'd be here!" one of the other girls interrupted. "I didn't know he could play music!" the first girl excitedly replied, obviously smitten. Was Sparksmith part of the band? Daniel expected the band to be inside the venue, not out. If that were so, the owner of Le Exotique must have plenty resources for being able to hire a local hero. "If he is willing to hire people with special talents, maybe the owner would like to avail of my services," Daniel thought to himself. "I should give him my card." Daniel continued watching Sparksmith. There was something oddly familiar about him. Daniel couldn't quite put his finger on it. Regardless...hired or not, he's doing a pretty good job settling the crowd down.
  10. Daniel will also be gathering information. Gathering Information on Sparksmith 1d20 + Gather Information + 6 (1d20+6=11)
  11. "I'll have whatever's on tap," Daniel told the bartender. "Here you go," replied the middle-aged man as he poured Daniel his drink. "Some night, huh?" "I don't know. It's still pretty early to say," Daniel responded as he looked out the window. "Shouldn't you be out there?" said the Bartender as he noticed Daniel looking outside. "You look too well-dressed to be in here. Not that I want you to leave, mind you." "Too many people out there. I'd rather wait in here. And I'd like to get a few drinks in me first," Daniel said slightly lifting his mug. The pub Daniel was in was just a short distance away from Le Exotique. He had gone here as soon as more and more people filled the street. It was a quaint conrer pub that currently had only a few customers. It was quiet inside. A contrast to the neighboring establishments in the block. From where Daniel was sitting, he coudn't see the doors to Le Exotique, but could observe the mass of people waiting. He remembered reading about a popular local band playing in the opening. Their fans probably added to the number of waiting guests. As Daniel looked out he spotted a large man up on a ledge. He couldn't hear what the man was saying, but the crowd seemed to be listening. Daniel finished drinking his remaining beer, pulled cash out of thin air and left it under the mug. As he opened the door to the street he heard the commotion coming from the crowd. "I better go see what's going on."
  12. Thanks mods! Edited his sheet Changed his Attack Bonus from 3 to 4( I heard about the 1/3 ruling and thought it was 1/3 rounded down), his Attack Focus (melee) from 7 to 6 and took out his Immunity to disease. Changed his history and background information. Hope everything is satisfactory :)
  13. "Thanks for the update, Uncle Henry. Take care," Daniel said as he put down his phone. It was an old rotary phone, much like those in film noir detective series. In fact, most of Daniel's new furnitures were items that fit the theme. Most of them were on his desk. There was a bronze ashtray that he never planned on using. Beside that was an empty cigar box. On the far right corner he placed a desk fan. He really wasn't a fan of the genre, but he decided to go with that theme when he found an old typewriter. It was on display in a small antique shop a few buildings from his apartment. He bought it and placed it in the center of his desk. "This oughta do it," Daniel told himself as he inspected his desk. "Now that I've got an office, all that's left to do is think of a name, get it registered and have business cards printed." His loft now looked more like an office than a living space. Though he never needed an office before to do his work, he just liked the idea of having one. "Oh! Then I have to get some advertising done. It was so much easier back home." Daniel used to get clients by word of mouth. He didn't need to advertise before. "And I might need a new car too...Man, there's much to do," he said as he stood in the middle of the apartment alone. "And I've got to learn to stop talking to myself out loud," he sighed resting his face on his palm.
  14. If there's space for a teleporter, I'd like to join :)
  15. [floatr][/floatr]Characters Name: Breschau Power Level: 10 (149/155) Trade-Offs: None Unspent PP: 6 Progress to Bronze: 6/30 Alternate Identity: Breschau Age: unknown (Apparent Age: 35) Gender: Male Height: 6'00" Weight: 200 lbs Eyes: Grayish Blue Hair: Black History: Eleven hundred years ago, on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, there was once a small settlement. Livonia. Despite it's small area, Livonia was prosperous. It was famous for it's sea side market which provided trade for the neighboring lands. Breschau was a simple dock worker who lived in Livonia along with his small family. He was known for his compassion and his physical prowess. He loved his wife and young daughter,Mazi. He swore to protect them as long as he lived. There were those who were envious of Livonia's wealth. Soon, there were rumors of an invading army approaching. The humble settlement had no standing army and thus sent for aid from it's allies. Only a few arrived to help. The people of Livonia became scared and desperate. There was a legend told by travellers from across the sea of a magical well. They claimed that this well had powers that could help stop the invaders. According to the legend, the well lay on a tiny island somewhere in the middle of the Baltic Sea. Desperate for help in any form, Livonia sent it's wisest men to search for the well. The journey would be perilous, so Breschau, along with other strong men and sailors, volunteered to assist. They thought themselves lucky, for it only took them a few days to find the island. However upon reaching it's rocky shores, they encountered creatures determined to drive them away. A battle was fought and only Breschau managed to survived. Wounded and exhausted, Breschau continued the search alone. He was about to give up when he reached a pool of water. Within the pool was an image of a woman. Ethereal and beautiful, Her song like voice spoke in Breschau's mind. She claimed that if his flesh should touch the water, she would grant him one wish. Feeling weak and helpless against the incoming invasion, Breschau wished to be made into the strongest warrior. As he reached into the pool, he felt immense power flowing through him. His wish was granted, but at a price. Before he could pull out his hand, his mind started to fade. The well's spirit had taken over Breschau's body. Breschau returned to Livonia. He ignored his friends and family, and left to meet the invaders which he singlehandedly destroyed. Immediately afterward he declared himself ruler of Livonia and eliminated any who opposed his new rule. Livonia grew as he conquered other lands. As a conqueror, he was violent, brutal and merciless. As a ruler, he was ruthless and unforgiving. Everyone feared his name. Time passed but he did not age. He only grew more wicked. He ruled for 30 years, building a kingdom fueled with fear. One day a small group of robed men and women entered his palace. There was no one to stop them for Breschau had no use for guards. The newcomers cautiously approached the ruler of Livonia. He laughed at them and proceeded to end their lives. As Breschau stood to face them, he started to scream. A voice not his own, echoed through the palace. He fell. What happened was, a group of magi, along with a now grown-up Mazi, found the cursed well. They managed to create a spell that would recover Breschau's soul. After which, they confronted his possessed body. They released the spirit that cursed him and returned his soul. Though the spirit left him, the magic that gave him immortality and strength remained. As he regained conciousness, the memories of his body's action flooded his mind. He was paralyzed with guilt and remorse. Despite the protests of his daughter, the people of Livonia demanded that he be executed. To them, he was an abomination meant to be destroyed. Breschau was willing to accept his fate, but his daughter could not. She bargained with the people and convinced them that he be imprisoned instead. In case he would try to escape, the mages constructed an orb that would weaken and restrain him, and put him in stasis. It was then placed on top of his cage. His cage was then hidden. As centuries passed, Livonia and the story of Breschau was forgotten. Deep underneath Freedom City was a room forgotten. There were no doors, only strange runes carved on the walls. In the middle of the room was a man in a cage. There was powerful magic surrounding the cage, keeping the man alive, however immobile. How it got there, nobody knows. But with further investigation, one can speculate it was brought from another land for study. In 1993, the room shakes due to the conflict above ground. The ceiling splits and lets air and light in. The room shakes some more and debris fall. Some of which strike an aged and worn orb. It cracks and the magic abates. The man in the cage opens his eyes and breathes in air for the first time in centuries. The room shakes for the final time and the orb shatters. The man could feel his strength slowly coming back, and with it, he attempts to break free. The year 2010-the man finally was able to dig his way out of the earth. He has forgotten who he was, save his name. He had read his name on his cell after ripping it apart years ago. "Breschau." He only has vague visions of the past for memories. The control of the well has been long gone, but the power that keeps him strong and ageless still remains. He begins his new life in Freedom City.. a foreigner in a foreign age. Personality & Motivation: Breschau doesn't know who he is, and has a hazy memory of who he was. He feels he has done unforgivable acts and tries to search for atonement. He is a wanderer and a stranger in the modern world. Whenever he sees someone oppressed or defenseless, he fights for them. Powers & Tactics: Superb fighting abilities, dexterity and strength. He is more fighter than tactician, willing to use anything as a weapon. Though sometimes wreckless, he does what he can to keep the innocent out of harms way. Complications: Fair play: will not press the advantage of a defenseless opponent and will make sure others don't either. Temper:He is provoked by the sight of harm against the weak. Out of place: he isn't familiar with the new technologies..everything to him is strange. In Brief: A once peerless warrior in a strange new world who fights for the weak and defenseless. 17. I just read the edit to the first post. Im curious. Are we going to get a gm when the villains come in the picture?
  18. There were different publications scattered in his desk. Daniel had been reading them to get a better understanding of the city and maybe find new clients. He was holding a copy of the Freedom Ledger when he spotted an article about the grand opening of a new restaurant. "Le Exotique." He set the paper aside and picked up another. Another article about "Le Exotique." "Interesting," he thought. "I might be able to make new contacts here." "If not, then at least I'd be having some fine cuisine," he mused as he started to get ready. Daniel stood near the entrance having just arrived wearing his favorite coat and tie. He took a cab while enjoying the sights on his way here. He was surprised to see reporters among the large group of people waiting to get in. "Looks like this place is going to be packed." With so many people waiting by the door, he was tempted to teleport inside when the doors open. But, he thought better and decided not to. He prefered to let everyone in and wait before going in. "Besides, I think it's still fashionable to be late," he smiled.
  19. I've put up a thread for my character Daniel, aka: The Courier down at the Southside. It's initially a solo thread but anyone can join in. :)
  20. This would be Daniel Farrell's (The Courier) solo-slash-open thread. Anyone is free to join in :)
  21. Despite being used to living in a big city, Daniel was overwhelmed. Freedom City isn't like New York at all. To Daniel, Freedom City is what all other cities should aspire to be. Advanced infrastructure, efficient transportation system, ultra-modern architecture...it was like the city of the future. It had been 2 days since Daniel arrived in Freedom City. He came here from New York hoping to find his father and those responsible for creating a mysterious drug. He thought he could just enter the city, locate his father, get answers and head home. Apparently, a detective nor a tracker he was not. All he was able to accomplish was to become a tourist. He spent most of his time in the downtown area. He heard that it was once destroyed then rebuilt by one of the local super heroes. Daniel was impressed. They had heroes too, back in New York, but none could create something this monumental. Daniel was also able to visit Freedom Hall. It was awe inspiring. He learned of the extraordinary people of Freedom doing heroic acts for the greater good. He thought about his own gifts. He had only used his powers for himself. It was then he remembered why he came to Freedom in the first place. He went back to his hotel room (which he paid for with the money he pulled out from his pocket dimension), and there he stood looking out the window. The city lights shining outside Daniel's Plaza Hotel room was a dazzling sight. It was a beautiful night and Daniel was getting restless. He still wanted to explore the city. "You know you can't go out there," Daniel thought to himself. "Not just yet." Daniel peeled himself away from the window and sat on his bed. "How am I supposed to find dad if I keep distracting myself?" Just like an illusionist, Daniel pulled a powdery blue brick covered in plastic out of thin air. He examined it intently. "And where did this come from? How do I find out if I know close to nothing about the city?" he said as he pushed the brick into the air until it disappeared. Daniel's original idea was to wait in the pocket dimension (which he has named "The Stockroom") and hope his father shows up. He had done that while still in New York taking care of his mother. His father never did appear so his next plan was to look for him in Freedom city. Sadly, he didn't think his plan through. "I need a new plan." A few phone calls and two days later, Daniel was able to find an apartment at the Southside district. He was able to explore most of the city, now aware that it wasn't perfect. He figured he should settle in and get the feel of the city and it's people. The apartment was a small loft in a 4 storie residential/commercial building a few blocks away from freedom college. The furnishings were basic which made the loft seem pretty plain. For now, it suited Daniel just fine. Later on, he would turn it into his office. Daniel decided to continue his courier service here in Freedom City. He would have to make new connections and new clients. In the process, he would learn more about the city and it's workings-and hopefully make a difference. "I'm glad Uncle Henry is taking care of mom." Daniel told himself. His uncle has been constantly giving Daniel updates about his mother and her condition. She's still in a coma, but otherwise she's physically healthy. "I never lived alone before," he mused as he surveyed his loft. "Now is a great time to start"
  22. Opening night sounds good. My character, Daniel, would be interested to see a new restaurant
  23. Im interested... my character Daniel (the courier) just arrived Freedom City.. he could visit the restaurant
