  1. Grim is staring intently at the stomach of the unsuspecting goon hovering right in front of her, and it is such a tempting target, but she doesn't want to do anything impulsive...until she hears a quick rapid motion, surprisingly close by, that could be her mentor going in for the kill. Or is it?

Ah, to heck with it, that's good enough for me.

The camouflaged heroine smiles to herself, flexes her clawed fingers, and launches into an extremely cheap shot aimed at the thug's midsection.

    Yep, I'm a bad girl.

  4. Lynn's family went to a Conservative temple, even after the family was forced to move to the trailer park when things got rough, but they were not insanely devout; there weren't any milk safe plates in the kitchen area, and they didn't say the Birkat Hamazon after every meal, only on holidays. Once they were in Tilton Terrace, her mom never bothered to find a new kosher butcher, so they just stuck to the basics (no pork, no shellfish, etc) unless it was Passover or they were visiting relatives.

So the Parkers' dinner met her not-so-rigorous kosher standards, which was a huge relief; however, the Catholic grace was a bit awkward, so she just bowed her head and nodded at the end.

"This looks fanatastic, Mrs. Parker; we really appreciate the hospitality, and all the trouble you went to preparing this." Lynn then proceeds to fill her plate, her hunger somewhat overridding her normal good manners; the taste and smell of this meal she would treasure for years.

  7. "Looks like dinner's ready. Ma's a good cook, so eat hearty," he says as he opens the door. Mr. Parker is getting up from his seat, and holds out a hand to help Lynn up.

Lynn gratefully accepts the hand up, and offers Ren an encouraging smile when he comes in, but then she frowns slightly when she remembers something: when was the last time she had dinner at a Gentile's house?

Dear God, let this meal be at least remotely kosher so that I won't offend my wonderful hosts, who have been nothing but nice and gave me beer.

  10. Normally, your dark vision would make the notice check possible. Whether or not you make it is a different matter. In this case, I don't care if you just kinda know where he is. I don't think it is going to make a big difference in the fight.

That's cool; he moved in a very sneaky fashion, so it makes sense she doesn't know where he is anyway.

  13. Holly effin' crap! Thanks for the thug minis, they really help set the scene; also, love the special semi-transparent Grim mini :D

By the way, does Grim even know where Nightrival is? Between her sensory powers, her crappy Notice roll and NR's fairly decent Stealth roll, I don't honestly know.

  16. Left to her own devices with Mr. Parker, Lynn continues to work on her beer and munch on cheese and crackers; the combined effect of the alcohol, the food and Ren's recent displays of affection is heady indeed, and the young super feels all warm inside. She looks at her host and offers him a sleepy smile.

"Believe it or not, this is by far the best day I've had in a long time; wouldn't have thought so when I got up this morning, but, there you go."

She gazes towards the door and cocks her head slightly as she listens in on Sean and Ren's brief exchange, and finally sighs.

    That's a relief.

Lying back on the couch and looking up at the ceiling, Lynn speaks as much to herself as to Sean's father.

"This is the best time; y'know, when you first feel it in your stomach?" She closes her eyes and holds her beer propped up on her belly. "I wish it could be this way forever."

Her eyes slowly open, and there's a touch of worry to her voice. "I hope it does."

  19. Grim cautiously moves further into the warehouse along the western wall, looking to get a better view of the proceedings; with her amazing eyes, the room appears well-lit, but she still has to strain her senses to locate Nightrival. At least she has a better look at the unloading operation now.

I bet those bricks are the drugs...wait, it was drugs we were looking into, wasn't? I need to spend less time think about Ren and more time paying attention during the briefings.

She looks at the crates, and stokes her invisible chin with an invisible finger.

I wonder if I should try and grab one of those bricks as, like, evidence, but would that be admissible in court?

Grim quietly moves as close to the crates as she can, waiting for an opportunity to grab a brick, if she ultimately decides to do so.
