  1. I am up for continuing as well. Just so everyone knows, I won't be around much till after Monday, as I graduate from law school tomorrow and have company in town for that.
  2. That sounds good to me War. I just ask that we slow things down till after Monday. My graduation from law school is tomorrow morning and I have company from out of town in, so I won't be around much. Thev
  3. "I don't know, getting the villain laughing so hard they can't do anything could be an effective way to subdue them." Megan replied with a smile.
  4. Over all Velocity's looks very good, just some of the last part makes her sound somewhat like a, well, novice heroine. She has actually been using her powers for three years (working her way up to more more dangerous supervillains within the last year or so). But...I guess it can be said that calling her nearly "omni-present" does sort of address that :)
  5. I had thought it was a week day as well. JoT had mentioned that it was the start of summer, so I figured school was out (especially for Megan who was a graduating Senior, who often end a bit earlier).

    Summer Vacation

“Hey Lisa, it’s me.†Megan called out as she knocked on the door to the other girl’s room. There was a somewhat muffled reply and some movement inside before Lisa opened up the door. “These rooms are soooo awesome!†Was the very first thing she said as she let Megan into the room. Like Megan, Lisa was now wearing clothing that was less expensive than what she typically wore. “Yeah, they are amazing. Almost makes it hard to leave. But only almost.†Megan replied with a smile as she glanced around Lisa’s room before focusing on her. “We should go get Janet and get something to eat. I’m starving now, so she is likely ready to pass out.†A short while later the three girls made their way out of the hotel, stepping out into the now warm morning air. The temperature was comfortable, and there was little in the way of humidity, unlike Freedom City in the Summer. They had gotten a suggestion for a place to eat from the desk clerk, and started off along the sidewalk that ran in front of the row of buildings that was the Royal Crescent. Janet looked up at the buildings that they were passing by, slightly in awe. “Its hard to believe that these were made around the time of the Revolution.†She said. “Most of this town was built by then.†Lisa replied. “We’re going to be seeing a lot of that, and older, during this trip.†“Some a LOT older.†Megan added with a smile. The three girls walked along the edge of part of Royal Victoria Park as they headed towards the suggested restaurant. Their path took them down Brock Street a few blocks, which lead to an area called the “Circusâ€Â, which was a circular area of the city around a park in the middle of a traffic circle. The buildings around the Circus consisted of three equal length curved rows of townhomes that looked almost identical to those in the Royal Crescent. The girls stopped to take a few pictures of the buildings before they headed down another street and a couple of more blocks to the restaurant.
  7. Velocity would be in for sure. She can also help get some big donations in as well PS: I'd also point out that Velocity's mother is pretty majorly involved in charity and philanthropy work in the city :)
  8. I'm up for continuing. Just been unsure of where we were in the order and such.
  9. Well, I actually think the second Indy film is the weak one in the trilogy. I am looking forward to this new one (seeing as I saw ALL of the first three when they first came out). Hopefully I will not be overly disapointed, but I am still looking forward to seeing the movie this weekend.

    College Visit

Given the excuse that she had given, Megan headed towards the parking lot she had parked in earlier in the morning. If that was near one of the groups, she would try to keep an eye on them. If not, she was going to find a place to just change and get to scouting the groups out in costume.
  11. Thanks I was going to start one of these up, but was waiting till I had a GM or two that were interested in helping with some mini-adventures before it was really needed. Things are starting off a bit slow as my schedule is kinda chaotic right now, but by next Monday I'll be on a good schedule once more, and will be aiming for a post or two a day in the thread :)
  12. Megan smiled. “Well, if I didn’t have my hair tucked way all the time, running around at supersonic speeds likely would make it pretty much uncontrollable as well.â€Â
  13. Velocity helped out as she was needed once the rest of the League and some other heroes started arriving. When Raven came back over to talk with her, the teen speedster nodded and listened closely to the more experienced heroine. When Raven talked about Speed being somewhat afraid of her, Velocity could not help but smile slightly, a smile that widened when Raven smiled herself at the comment that she could be the alternate version of herself. When the other woman turned to discussing Robert, and what was going to be done with him, the speedster continued to listen, trying to give Robert something of a reassuring smile. She did not say anything when Raven talked about the real Robert Luciano, though Velocity actually did know about him, as they had been at the same high school for years. Velocity was a bit surprised though when Raven said that she would be keeping an eye on Robert in the new place the League was setting up for him to live in Riverside. When Raven pulled her off a bit to the side and gave her an official invitation to join the Freedom League, the teenage speedster felt a wave of excitement flow through her. She had always know she was a pretty good at the hero thing, but to be asked to be part of the Freedom League was a bit more than she expected, at least for a few more years. Smiling widely, she looked at Raven and nodded. “Thank you, for the invitation and the compliment. I will be sure to do what I can to help Robert get acclimated here. I won’t let you or the rest of the League down.â€Â
  14. “Hot dogs? Eww, no thanks, I try not to eat those things.†Velocity replied with a slight crinkling of her nose. “I’ll probably finish a few autographs here,†she indicated the nearby boys, “and then get back to cruising around to see if there is anything going on.â€Â

    Summer Vacation

Megan had dozed for much of the drive through the English countryside. By the time they were getting close to Bath, she was wide awake however. Janet and Lisa were also awake by then, looking out the windows as they drew near Bath. The small city (very small to the three girls from Freedom City) was situated along the River Avon, and seemed very charming and quaint among the green of the country side. Not a single skyscraper was visible, or a even a building over five stories tall for that mater, other than the tall spires of churches here and there. The architecture of the city was very classical, dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The car crossed the River Avon over Pulteney Bridge and into the heart of the city. As they drove through the center of town, Bath Abby stood out as the most prominent building in the city. They continued through the town and towards the Northeastern end, where Royal Victoria Park spread out in fields of green grass and trees. Sitting slightly above the park, looking out over it was a long, curved row of buildings that were of the same classical Georgian design as most of the rest of the city. “That’s where our hotel is right?†Lisa asked as she saw the building. “Yep. That’s the Royal Crescent.†Megan replied with a smile. The car pulled up into the road that led around the arching crescent shaped row of buildings, right to the center. There, located at 15 and 16 Royal Crescent, was the Royal Crescent Hotel. “Wow.†Janet said as she looked up at the building. “This looks awesome!†“Yeah, there is a private garden in the back, with a sap-bath house as well.†Megan said as the car came to a stop. The girls climbed out of the car as the driver started unloading their luggage. “This is going to be so cool.†Lisa commented as they made their way inside to check in. A short while later Megan was in her room on the third floor of hotel. Sunlight poured in through the windows into the lightly colored room which was beautifully decorated and had a large king sized bed. Smiling as she looked around at the room that she would be staying in for the next couple of days, Megan quickly changed, putting on some new clothes she had bought for the trip. While stylish, these were not nearly as fancy or expensive as what she normally wore. Her and the other girls had bought quite a few outfits of more “normal†clothes, so as to not stand out too much when they were sightseeing. Once she was changed, Megan grabbed her purse and room key, and headed out into the hallway to go check on Lisa and Janet so they could head out and get something to eat and start seeing some of the town.
  16. That shouldn't be too surprising Barnum, last time you tried this, there were far fewer players. And some of us (like me) wanted to see how things developed before committing to a team :)
  17. "I'm glad I don't have your powers then." Megan replied with a small smile. "Having lighting arc through me all the time would be sure to give me tons of split ends. It's bad enough I am stuffing my hair under that mask and wig all the time."
  18. Velocity felt a bit sorry for the duplicate Robert, he likely was pretty much an innocent in all of this. But if he was the Robert from the dimension that the evil Johnny duplicate was from, could it cause problems to have him here in this dimension with the normal Robert here as well. When Raven asked if she was ready to go, the speedster smiled and nodded, finishing up tying up the unconscious Johnny Speed. “Sure thing, ready to go.†With that, she was off and checking for all the possible exits to the place, trying to make sure no one was leaving the place till the rest of the League arrived.

    Summer Vacation

Megan was awoken from her sleep by the feeling of the plane starting to descend as it began its approach to Heathrow. Yawning slightly as she looked about, she noticed that despite her claims of being unable to sleep, Lisa was still dozing in her seat nearby. Janet looked like she had just woken up as well, and looked over at Megan with a small smile. It was not too much longer before the plane had touched down and they had arrived at the gate. The three girls were among the first ones off the plane, glad to have a chance to stretch their legs some as they made their way through the terminal. After a quick stop in one of the restrooms to freshen up some, they made their way to the baggage claim to get their checked bags and clear customs. Once through customs, they made their way out towards the pick up area to meet the car that was supposed to be waiting for them. “That took forever.†Janet complained, meaning the time it had taken for them to get through customs. “They just have to be through.†Megan replied with a shrug, the process having taken about as long as she had expected. “Yeah, we’re done now, and in England.†Lisa offered. “Even if I am rather tired. What time is it?†Megan checked her cellphone. “About half past seven.†“Way too early.†Janet replied as the three girls made their way outside. “Geeze it’s cold.†Lisa complained, shivering slightly in the cool morning air. “It should be warmer in a couple of hours.†Megan replied with a smile as she looked around for someone that might be their driver. It took her a moment before she spotted the tall man holding a sign with their three last names. “There’s our driver.†She said to the others, as she started over towards him, wheeling her bags with her. “Can we go get something to eat now? I’m starving.†Janet said. “We can, or we can wait till we get to Bath.†Megan said with a shrug, though she was feeling a bit hungry as well. “I can wait till we get to Bath.†Lisa replied. Janet did not seem to want to press the matter, and simply stayed quite as they continued towards the driver.
  20. He has seen Velocity moving around far faster than a normal person could (like several hunder miles an hour- ie slow for her )
  21. How could he not know about supers? He has alread met several of them and witnessed some of their abilities.
  22. Not to mention that according to the background you have for him, he would be from a Senatorial family, which means his career path would be very different. He would have been well educated, and while he certainly would have had military service, it would have been as a tribunal, or junior officer, initially and perhaps then to higher ranking postings, before he would have gone back to Rome to sit in the senate.
  23. The thread in question is one that I will very likely be working on all summer, so it will be a long project for me. I am basically looking for possible multiple mini-adventures as Velocity travels to each area. I figured it might be easier on the GMs if they did one (or more if the felt like it), instead of trying to get one GM to try to commit to the whole time. Plus, one GM might be interested in one location more than another. I talked with Barnum last night, and she will likely be interested in running the part for when Velocity gets to Greece.
  24. Velocity smirked slightly at Lynn’s comments in response to her statements about VIP rooms. She then looked over at Kizzy as she asked why it would be a big deal in an underage club. “Just because its an underage club doesn’t mean everyone there is underage. And anyway, I was more making a general statement about VIP rooms at most any club, not just the Midnight Hour. Nor did I say avoid them, just be careful when invited to one.†She shrugged. When the dark haired girl changed the topic to…lots of other things, the speedster smiled again. “Umm, well, there are lots of places that will hire sixteen year olds I think, more likely a question of what you are looking to do. As for decent fish, there are plenty of places. The Waterfront has some good fish restaurants, as does Riverplace.†When the other girl asked about being creeped out by shadows, and held out her hand with a shadow dancing on her palm, Velocity just shrugged. “It’s a bit odd, but nothing I’d find overly creepy.â€Â
